[Q] Speech to text not working with bluetooth - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Needing help to figure why on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - when my bluetooth headset is connected - the speech to text freezes and hibernates and wont allow me to input voice to simply reply to texts and emails without typing - has anyone else encountered this problem?

which version of android? which rom? which text to speech app/engine? ... fyi, recent versions of android have been plagued with BT headset issues, primarily with mic routing, its entirely possible this is just a Bluetooth bug.

Android version 4.12 - stock Galaxy Note 2 Rom - stock speech to text engine - the problem is with Samsung devices and when the bluetooth devices is connected - when u press the microphone on the keyboard the process just freezes and wont go any further unless you turn off the bluetooth connection - i saw a fix on you tube saying that you have to turn on touch sounds and it will work - tried that and still no fix....so aggravating

Does your bt device work fine otherwise?

[Q] voice recording service not working

hi
i just observed that all the apps that require voice input are not working anymore properly on my samsung note gingerbread mobile.
skype - during echo test, i can't hear my voice back.
voice recorder - when i click on record button, recording starts n stops immediately
video camera - pops up recording failed message n closes
other sip app - i am able to hear the called peron's voice but he is not able to hear mine
The only place where it works as of now is the normal calls through mobile where i am able to have normal calls, rest all apps i tried involving
voice services doesn't seem to work.
i did not do any recent firmware upgrade or anything.
can anybody tell what might be the problem ...

Bluetooth breaks voice to text recongnition

Galaxy Note 2 - Verizon
I noticed I am able to talk to text using the messaging and gtalk app just fine while at home with bluetooth turned on. However once in and paired to my 2012 Toyota Highlander I am no longer able to talk to text in those applications unless I turn bluetooth off. Google Now is unaffected at all.
Anyone else notice this bug?
Thanks.

This has effected me on Google now also. The only thing that works right is s-voice, but who wants to use that!? I found a workaround, but you are basically still using your phone for the voice recognition, and the Bluetooth strictly for voice calls. If you can work with that and just toggle between the two if you want to use your Bluetooth for other audio, this will work for you.
Just go into your Bluetooth settings for whatever device you have paired, and turn off "media audio". Voice detection will now work fine, but you have to do it through the phone(which kind of defeats the purpose, but hey...it's just a temporary workaround). Hope this helps

I hear you there, I'm not constantly jumping back and forth between the two, so for now it works, just gotta change it when I want to stream.

Not just the Note II either. My SGS3 does exactly the same thing. Seems like a bug or someone, somewhere thought it was good idea. Siri (on my iPhone 4S)worked while streaming audio and paired to my car and my Nexus 7 works too (even though it doesn't have a 'phone' both options are there and checked and it works).
I just noticed this last night. While my headset was paired, I tried to use speech recognition through Swiftkey Flow Beta and it would not work. Also, when I hit the multi-purpose button on my headset to voice dial, SIRI would come up instead.
SIRI must die. Soon.
Is there anything new with this issue?
Between this and the other problem with the music player auto starting, my enjoyment of my note 2 while in my car is severely limited.
No movement but something needs to happen as this is really annoying.

I find it works on Swype beta.

Voice to text stopped working?

I am using deodexed Viper stock release. Voice to text does not work through stock HTC keyboard, swift key, or google voice typing keyboard. Anyone else have this issue?
voice
Do you have bluetooth turned on? I have an issue with my note 2..When bluetooth is on voice to text won't work unless I go into settings bluetooth settings for my brand of earpice and un-check media audio, or shut off bluetooth altogether.
Not sure if this is your issue or not. I didn't have this problem until the last 2 google updates.
I searched for the app in titanium and then wiped data. This fixed it. It could have been related to your BT comment though, I did have to reboot, so I may have turned BT off

I have the same problem, would love to find a solution! Also, very often I can't hear any audio (phone or media) though the bluetooth even though it is properly connected. I have to turn the bluetooth device on and off, and after a few tries it starts working again...
Also experiencing the same
Hi, I have the same issue. Handsfree was working fine in 4.1.2, upgraded to CM 10.1 (4.2.2) and I hear no sound, nor does the other side of the call hear me. I then switched to AOKP(4.2.2), but still the same issue continues.
Did anyone here find a solution?

Somebody gave me a solution when I posted this on another forum (unfortunately XDA doesn't allow me to post the link but here is the solution):
In your apps manager wipe the cache/data for bluetooth share!
That worked for me to solve the audio issue, but voice dialling still hangs.
Bluetooth Voice Dial
I have same problem. Bluetooth works fine with headset, car kit and motorcycle headset until i try the "press button to voice dial" on whatever headset is connected.
I am running SlimBean v4.3 stable version on SGS2 GT-i9100
I am unable to ask devs direct as i cannot post in dev forum on the ROM.
Stumped and really want to get solved. Have tried using Google Now, SVoice, and !Utter but none seem to work. Voice dial on all including voice dialler app work fine when used with no bluetooth but when i press the magic button, voice dialler pops up and freezes.
Hudba přes Bluetooth
Čau , mám Samsung Galaxy S2 s cyanogenmod 10.1.3 a androidem 4.2.2 . Problem mi nastal s tím , že mi nejde hudba do Bluetooth sluchátek . Hovory fungují bez problému. Pak mi nejde přes Bluetooth volat s aplikaci Viber : Rolleyes:Setkal se už někdo s tím? Děkuji

I ended up going to NeatRom and Aroma which unfotunately puts me back on 4.1.2 which has the annoying "wobble" when using bluetooth every xx secs.

Help for Bluetooth and SIP calls

Hi to all,
I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S III, 16GB, Android 4.3, stock rom, and the integrated SIP voip system (Call Settings < Internet calls settings) with bluetooth headset: when I receive a SIP call the audio is not transferred to the bluetooth, I do not hear anything and the microphone does not transmit. Otherwise, when I make a sip call everything works perfectly. I have tried many SIP providers and many BT headset but this issue remain.
It 'possible that some of you do a test to see if the problem is only mine or if it is a S III bug?
Thank you!

I tried to make a skype call through my bt headset (NEXUS10) It works just fine, but when I try to make it with my S3 I have the same issue I dont hear the voice and the microphone was not working, I tried to make modifications to the sound files (root) but I didn't find what the problem was.. I'm using slimkat7 and former user of CM10.2 (
I tried also to make a call but instead of using the BT headset I used the little waterproof speakers (built in mic) and I could make it!! So I have three conclusions (actually they are questions if someone could help me too, I'm:
-You need an a2dp earpiece in order to make VoIP calls (as my speaker that worked)
-It can be the ROM or kernel (I've heard that)
-You need to modify de sound files (root) in order to "unlock" the feauture with the Samsung Galaxy s3.
None of above are actual solutions, I think they could be solutions so if someone could help to make it happen I would be very greatful!
thanks again
