I have the AT&T Galaxy S4, i337 MF3 build that is rooted on 4.2.2 I am trying to update to the newest OS but I cannot do the OTA update my guess is because of my root, I tried ODIN but it keeps giving me errors...please can someone point me in the right direction of how to remove my root, or preserve it and update to the new operation system..thank you.

If I root my stock Sprint S3 and leave the stock ROM on it can I still get OTA updates from Sprint?
Alright so i recently got a Galaxy S3 and rooted and flashed a leaked jellybean ROM onto it. Now that the official jelly bean has come out i want to update but i cant because kies says "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies". so next i tried FOTA but that didnt work either: it said "Your device has been modified, software updates are not supported".
And of course i downloaded triangle away and that didnt work, ive tried flashing the official jelly bean update but it didnt boot so i was forced to restore from my modded backup. And ive re-installed kies twice.
any help would be appreciated.
my device is Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300T with vodafone australia currently running the DLH9 hawkish premium light ROM.
Cheers.

I would think your best bet would be to go back to the Galaxy S3 ICS stock rom and then use Kies to update it from there. A lot of the official updates will refuse to do anything if /system has been messed with.
Hello,
I have a international galaxy s3, which after getting repaired by a local shop, they put in a 'KOR' version of the software. So I need to revert back to my official country's software because it wont let me upgrade past 4.0.4 because of different CSC . I downloaded the official software and will flash through odin.
I wanted to ask, if someone would kindly tell me, that if I flash the official samsung software 4.1.2 for my country onto my phone, the binary count increases yes, but will my status of my phone be modified or it will be official? Like will I be able to upgrade OTA or kies or I am stuck with Odin flashing?
I am on a non rooted 4.0.4 software with binary count 2 if that matters.
The attachment shows the error kies gives me. I know what to flash on my phone. I just need to know if my status will be modified or not because currently its not
Thank you!
you'll be able to update OTA as long as you're not rooted
I have galaxy s3 with frimware 4.1.2 with root device..and i want to update to jelly bean 4.3 offical android..and i use ota app..its say my device dont have permission..how can i update my phone?
Flash new firmware with odin or cwm, ota doesn't work on modified phones.
Apparently kies will still update it, but I've never used it myself.
Or flash your original saved firmware and get OTA.
Hey guys,
So I really want to upgrade my Rogers Samsung Galaxy Note II (SGH-i317M) to JB 4.3. I currently have JB 4.1.2. BUT, I'm currently rooted. I have used Framaroot to root my device and it's worked! When I get 4.3, I don't care if I have my data or not or if I'm rooted or not...
So my question is: Can I update through Kies? Will it brick?!
I'm pretty sure (and it is the case with my Galaxy SII) that Kies does not work with rooted phones. You may be able to unroot, update, then re-root.
