1. Download and unzip saveroot.zip
2. Open a terminal window.
3. use the "cd" command to change your directory to where you unzipped.
4. type 'sh saferoot.sh' without the quotes.
The only way I could make it easier would be to hop in my car and root it for you.

that is usually 95% of the problems with wifi not working with any safestrap install
Its probably in your best interest to post more info if you cant capitalize on the suggestions above.

Concepts are the same. You flash the mk2 kernel patch from safestrap thread immediately after flashing rom.

How much research have you done?

It's either one or the other, it can't be both. Go into Settings>About Phone and see what baseband it says.

Asking questions is researching to me, do you have the answer to my question? I have done enough research to downgrade sucessfully from NC5 to MK2 install root go back up to NC5 and run hyper-drive. I like hyper drive but would like more roms to toy around with. Enough with the ego,I'm posting in the right section of the forum and it's a simple question. this question could very well answer more peoples questions and your thanks meter might go up. I've done enough research to know being mean gives you a bad rap and answering questions and bieing helpful in a help section gives you good reputation.

Unfortunately you can only stay with safe strap, the Loki method only worked with the MDK bootloader the phone originally came with when it launched.

Baseband only refers to your modem by the way. Basically you need to know what your bootloader is aka what build your phone is currently on.
Seems you've been answered already as to your recovery question. Only SafeStrap is available for your phone as of now.

Alright guys, I have searched and searched for an answer; I rooted my S4 with build number NC5, with safestrap, however, I installed CM 11 (nightly) and google play store through SS. Now I read there isn't a way to do that. I have already booted my phone and now its just a black screen. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Thank you in advance.
Also, I am on a Mac laptop, and I can't figure out how to use odin. I have also tried using j0dinCasual but it says something about not being able to locate my phone

Hello XDA Community!
I think this is my first post so yay! That being aside, I've recently bought an Alcatel Pop 4s ( MT6755M processor, 2gb of RAM) and I can't seem to find any guides on the internet nor on xda to root or flash a custom recovery on this device, I can't find any files at all, I've read guides of how to compile TWRP to your device but they all seem to require custom roms so I can't figure it out. I've also tried rooting the device with KingoRoot and pretty much every other one click root app and none of them worked.
I really would appreciate if someone could help me find a guide or a custom recovery/root method that works!
Cheers,
Kamefrede

Hello there welcome to XDA .
Alcatel devices aren't really popular here on XDA unless someone like me or some other dev gets their hands on one. TWRP doesn't require any custom ROMs to build it (technically it does but it's not the flashing kind). If you had root then you could've provided your boot.img and recovery.img and I would've built TWRP for you.
There may be another way to backup your stock firmware in the event you brick in the future you can restore. For now, know that something is being worked on although I don't have this device.

Alright, let's go. I found a tool for you. Download this tool here and extract it. Open it up and I guess you should see prompts. Follow them and try to get the boot.img and recovery.img.
EDIT: Tool is only for android 5.1 and you have 6.0 right?
EDIT 2: 6.0 Backup here

Indeed they do but there are one click apps that work too like Kingroot. If Kingroot doesn't work then more then likely you need to root using a custom recovery.
