[Q] Cannot Install TF201 ROM/OS - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hello Everyone,
I have a Transformer Prime (TF201) and recently decided it was time to update from the stock rooted ROM. I have TWRP so I downloaded the latest Cyanogen Mod for Transformer Prime (nightly build 10.1), made a full backup, cleared my caches, and tried to install the rom. Unfortunately what I wound up with was the startup animation for Cyanogen Mod and nothing more. And when I went back to restore my previous version, my tablet wasn't able to find it.
Since then I've done a number of different things in an attempt to restore it, mainly clearing caches, formatting data, and trying to flash either the 9.1 Stable Cyanogen Mod ROM, the 10.1 nightly build I originally tried, or the stock, rooted, deodexed ROM available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911024. When I try to install either of the CM ROMs it goes through what appears to be an install process and I see the error "Unable to mount /staging." Once I see that error once, it continues to appear when I try to wipe cache/dalvik or do anything else from recovery. Despite receiving this error it says the install was successful but upon rebooting, it never is. When I try to install the stock, rooted ROM, it fails outright.
After poking around some I found the Prime Full Wipe here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670824. I gave this a shot thinking maybe if I get a fresh start I'll have more success but I'm afraid I'm still having no luck. After a full wipe and reboot I'm still receiving the same "unable to mount /staging" error with CM and the same failures with the stock ROM.
I don't know if this matters or not but I have been flashing all of these files from an external SD card. I tried to setup ADB or ASUS sync but I'd done it after I had already hosed the OS so I couldn't get my computer to recognize the tablet.
If you guys have any suggestions or clarifying questions, I'd love to hear them. Thank you!

Can't install CM based ROM's

So...I can't install either of the two CM based ROM's I've downloaded. However, on the first try, I installed VEGan, and then tonight TNT Lite, with no issues. Any CM ROM I try to install just sits on the loading screen, regardless of how long I wait. Is there something special that needs to be done to install them, different than what I do for other ROM's? (Clear data/cache, flash the ROM, clear data/cache again, reboot.)

I believe you have ClockworkMod 0.8 recovery, since you were able to flash Vegan Rom.
In general, before you flash the different rom
1. Back up your current rom
2. wipe data (factory reset)
3. wipe cache
4. flash the rom
5, flash gapps
6. reboot
Hope this helps
There have also been some reports of G-Tablets coming out of the box with incorrect partitions.
Using NVFlash has cured those issues. You should then be able to flash CM7 Roms through CWM like everyone else.
I repartitioned with 2048/0, shouldn't that rule out any partitioning problems?
I'm trying it again right now with flashing the rom then gapps.zip, waiting for it to boot...or just stay on the boot screen.
Format system and data, then follow those steps again. I ran in to similar issues when I hadn't formatted.
Also, do the three wipes again after installing the ROM and gapps.
Holy crap! I see the CM boot screen now! Thanks for the help guys. Now, do I still need to do the market fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245)? It looks like from their changelogs that the latest version of Flash is cooked into the ROM so I shouldn't have to do that part from the guide, but I'm wondering about the market.
Well, the market seems to have everything, including an app (power control plus) that none of the other rom's let me see, so I seem to be good to go! Thanks again guys!
Thanks for the suggestion - and I'll readily admit I'm WAY out of my comfort zone with Android.
When I format the /system /data do I have to mount first?
What order do the steps run in? Do I partition and then format /system /data?
cannot install cm based roms
I was trying to reset from factory rest but failed when my gtablet stucked and apparently did something wrong along the way. Now when I turn it on, I get the 3 birds screen, followed by G-Tabdevs screen, then dead. I do have clockwork mod installed on it.
1 when I clicked factory rest, it just return to the manue and said cannot find the file.
2 when I did a back up, it went through boot image, recovery image, system and then taskbar stopped in the half at settings.apk and then dead.
3 when I tried to followed this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
to use the external tf card to flash, Gtablet doesnot recogonize the external card, while I can read all the files in gtablet. I can copya single small file but cannot paste a recovery and update.zip on gtablet. Each time I copied a file from gtablet, then it is dead. I have to return on by pressing power and volume+.
4 I tried adb to push update.zip to gatblet, also failed. I feel my gtablet can only allows me to read it and refuse me to do anything on it.
Any ways to reboot my gatblet brick?
Please help! I've been reading forums all weeks trying to figure out how to fix it and am not having any luck!
Appreciate any suggestions

[Q] Touchpad 32G reboots upon flashing new rom.

I've had Android on my Touchpad 32G for quite some time now, both CM7 and the latest CM9 alpha.
Recently I wanted to upgrade to the official nightly, so I downloaded that, Gapps, Rohans tweak and various other small things and was ready to go.
I did a wipe/factory reset, wiped cache and dalvik as I usually do.
Then I tried to update to the nightly, however it just rebooted my Touchpad.
When it starts to install it shows the usual "finding package...", "opening package..." and "installing package..." but when it gets to the "installing package..." part it freezes for a second and then reboots everytime I try it.
I have both CWM and TWRP, and TWRP now refuses to run. I can select the option in moboot and it is actually trying to run, and even go as far as showing the splash that is supposed to "roll up", but then it reboots just like when I try to flash a rom.
CWM works perfectly as well as the original webOS 3.0.5 installation.
I have tried clearing the uiImages from /boot (using webOS and classicnerds cleaner) which doesn't solve my flashing problem.
Now, upon flashing any new rom, it always reboots as per the description above.
Any solution to this? Help would be much appreciated.
I have created a 4GB partition for Ubuntu chroot that can be started from within webOS.
Does creating that partition break the ability to flash?
It was created using Tailor from the webos-internals testing feed.
I actually had this issue myself yesterday, in that I couldn't flash anything. What I ended up doing was deleting ALL the partitions, doing a factory reset to 3.0.0, then upgraded to 3.0.5, then reinstalled using ACMEInstaller. There's a guide here on how to reflash back to factory (which removes everything - Android, WebOS, all the partitions and data of everything), which I followed, then I reinstalled the latest nightly (20120402) with ACMEInstaller.
That's what I would suggest. Yes, wipe-everything-and-reinstall is kind of annoying, plus you lose everything from WebOS, but this way you're sure to have it working again, like I did.
Then, as a suggestion, when you flash the ROM, flash JUST the ROM, and the GApps zips first. Boot up and make sure they work. Then flash Rohan's tweak, reboot, make sure it works. Then reboot, do a backup, and flash the other stuff one at a time, so you can try and troubleshoot where the problem lies.
That seemed to work, thank you.
Before I did that I tried repairing the partitions using Tailor, however it didn't work.

[Q] CM10.1 Issue - Odin solution?

Hello, I'm having a bit of an issue here I can't install a ROM after trying CM10.1.
I was using CM10, up until awhile, when I deiced to give CM 10.1 a try (Alpha build I'm aware of the risks).
I have installed CM10.1 using Rom Manager Premium. The installation progress went smooth without any errors, before installing I've made a backup of my current ROM.
Once CM10.1 finished optimizing application it started giving errors, that it can't load up Setup Wizard stopped from working, I have rebooted into CMW, wiped Dalvik cache and user data, I have booted up again, and was still was getting the same error, so I decided to restore my previous ROM.
But when I have booted up into CWM, I have discovered that the backup I made isn't there, not on the Internal memory and not on the SD card.
The issue I'm having is that I can't instal CM10 back, when ever I try to install CM10 ROM ZIP using CMW from external SD I get an error (Status 7)
Is there any ODIN CM10 installation route?
Thank you!
Update 1:
I have manged to flash The Official Rom, But it can't boot up, it seems like it's stock on the animation screen, the animation moves, but doesn't boot up. What might be the issue?
Update 2:
Solved the problem by wiping use data, and resting it to factory settings.
Update 3:
Got it fixed, everything is running like it used to be. Shame that I lost all my personal DATA, specially the DICM folder :/

[Q] Flashed Hyperdrive 8.1 ROM, got encryption reset message, more details inside!

I've been trying some various ROMs to figure out what I do and don't like.
Latest one I tried was Hyperdrive 8.1. Downloaded, checked md5, moved to an SD card and flashed just like normal.
When it boots up after installation and selection of features, the phone states that the encryption process failed and I have to reset data etc.
I'm able to restore to a backup of another ROM through TWRP just fine, but I'm still curious as to why this might be happening.
I'm running TWRP 2.6 now, I was running the latest 2.5 build when I first tried this ROM.
I did a factory reset, cleared dalvik, system, data, and cache before every installation attempt as well.
The phone is up and running fine, didn't brick at all, but I really like the features of Hyperdrive and would like to check it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Brick with access to fastboot

So, I got annoyed with the speed of my 4.4 ROM and tried to install a new ROM. In the process of wiping davlik and cache, my TF201 hung and didn't do anything. After an hour, I hard rebooted it. Internal memory was totally wiped (including the ROM and Gapps, naturally) and I had to do a whole dance of trying to get the new ROM onto the SD card. After I did that, and installed a new ROM, it wouldn't install Gapps with an error saying it couldn't access the /data folder.
Even though the ROM install seemed to be successful, the tablet hangs on the splash screen ("unlocked" screen). I can access TWRP still, and I get a full fastboot menu.
Am I boned here?

Where it says to get the TF300 official firmware get the official TF201 Jellybean instead.
Follow all the instructions and you should be back to stock with no recovery. Then install the official TWRP for the TF201 and go from there.
