What is a jig?
Plugin in the charger and wait for the battery loading animation. Then power it on

Search in Ebay for USB jig. It resets the ROM counter. But do try to remove the battery for 5 mins and see, I think it should work.

JIG might not help you in this case, since you have only BLACK screen... however this JIG can sometimes make miracle and bring your phone into Download mode...
The JIG was originaly developed for fixing bricked devices, so you could enter the download mode, secondary, it resets counter, which is great thing if you have been rooted and need warranty replacement... try to youtube galaxy jig and see some tutorials how it works - or if you have spare 301k resistor + microUSB cable which you can spare, you can make one for yourself, its very easy!

If the phone is not turning on, it might not always work, coz there might be some HW fault, if its just about booting issue, then it will help

I have ordered a JIG too. I hope it will arrive soon.
I have just one question: Can a failed boot or a failed firmware update destroy the hardware?
Thank you all

I believe, that under some circumstances, it can be possible
Good luck I hope the jig gets your phone back up and running.
Ok NOW i have a problem......
The Jig does not work. I´ve testet the Jig on another SGS, the Jig work´s, but not for my bricked phone.
I have sent my phone to a samsung partner in austria.
I told them it was a problem with kies xD
I hope they wouldn´t find out about the flash.....the screen is just black, so they couldn´t see anything.

[Q] USB Jig not working on I9100

I've a I9100 and for certain hardware issue (Audio problem) I want to send it to the Service Center.
I tried different custom ROMs before coming back to 2.3.3 KE8 through ODIN as I realized the hardware issue was not gonna fix without sending it for repair or replacement.
Now, I bought USB Jig from Ebay and followed the instructions in the USB Jig FAQ thread but after switching the phone off and inserting the USB Jig it is not booting into the Download Mode ? Is the USB Jig not working ?
Or do I need to flash an old bootloader to get this working , if yes a link please ?
Yes most probably thats a bootloader issue...get an old bootloader from the Original Dev Subsection.
Mine for some reason doesn't automatically boot when the jig is inserted but it does do it's job when I just use the power button to switch on.
Then it boots into download mode and resets triangle and flash counter.
Don't know why. I bought it for my sgs1 so maybe thats something.
Anyway try doing it that way and see how you go.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I flashed the old bootloader posted in the intratech's thread here Still its not booting up.
And also, I tried inserting the Jig and then powering on manually that didn't work as well.
What now ?
Some peoples have posted on other forums about the USB jig doesn't work automatically when inserted (although it should...) Try inserting the jig, and powering your phone on. It should reset the flash counter, if you are trying to get rid of the triangle for "warranty" purposes
Are you close to any of these people?

2.3.3 KE8 Has the old the old bootloader so no need to replace it..
Try cleaning the usb port with a spray duster or tooth brush and try jig again.. Also you may be unlucky with a DOA Jig...
Hey I just couldn't get the USB Jig working so I had no other option but to try the riskier method.
So, I updated to ICS (Resurrection Remix 9.3) and used TriangleAway and it worked. Then I flashed the Stock Rom by using Mobile Odin.
So now the phone is as "Factory'd" as possible and I'll be taking it to the service center tomorrow
@ All above, thanks for helping

I'm glad you managed to remove the Triangle and restored to the stock rom,but what about the rom counter? The Service guys will surely check for the rom counter....you managed to reset that too?

Yeah the "TriangleAway" app resets the Binary Counter too
Seems like a dud jig to me. Mine automatically boots into download mode, regardless of bootloader.
Sent from my GT-I9100T
I had these issues - installed the old bootloader and away went the yellow triangle after inserting the USB Jig.
The counter would not reset but I found a "GT-I9100_counter_patch.tar" file which I flashed (PDA) and then inserting the USB Jig it reset the binary counter to zero
PM me if you would like the patch file

[Q] galaxy s2 wont boot

i have just flashed it with the wrong Sofware (by accident) and it wasnt working so i disconnected it now it wont boot and wont go into recovery mode or download mode please help????
Sounds like a hard brick, there isn't a way to recover it. Out of interest what software did you flash? Was it just a wrong package or was it software that was designed for a different phone? There might be a minor chance of recovery depending on what went wrong. (But don't get your hopes up)
it was my dads galaxy s2 and the original software for my galaxy s i hope there is a way to unbrick it would it help if i said i didn't root it before i started i forgot and went straight into it ??
That's a pretty bad mistake... The only way you could possibly recover it is if you buy a USB Jig and give that a try. Otherwise I'm afraid your up **** creek without a paddle.
Jig
Seems u have Bricked your Device Use USB Jig to UnBrick it
1. USB jig to force into download mode
2. Key combo (Vol down + home + power) and then immediately connect to PC via USB, or try at same time
3. JTag repair
4. Samsung repair

You did a big mistake, you can only use a USB jig and hope the cell reboot!
You can buy a USB JIG from Amazon using the following link:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...d-keywords=usb+jig&x=0&y=0&tag=011080bfcam-20
Or you can even make your own USB JIG. Here is a useful video that shows you how to make a a USB JIG

A JIG won't ever help in these situations. JTAG is the only solution left.
A JIG is to force a phone to download mode with a WORKING bootloader. You messed up the whole phone my flashing a I9000 fw, including the bootloader.
the battery gets hot when i charge it i plug in the jig and the battery goes flat anything there??

Correct me if I'm wrong as I just got my S3 yesterday, but if you had a USB Jig, wouldn't you be able to force download mode to flash a new ROM via Odin? Read this link, I'm not 100% sure though. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402286
Try using a USB jig.. it may be just a softbrick. But if the USB jig does not do the trick, then you my friend have hardbricked your phone. To get this fixed, you have to get JTAG services near you.. or if you are on warranty, maybe sending it to your service center will be less of a hassle

You can make a jig and force download mode just Google it, its only a resistor between two connections on the plug!

If you manage to revive it through a jig: please make sure you got the i9300 S3 not another model, since they are not compatible!
There's been talk about booting the Galaxy phone's bootloader from a specially formatted sdcard and with a rather uncommon jig ohmage, but I'm not sure it applies to the s3

I think it does, if I'm not mistaken it was a leak of the official jtag documentation
Op look in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1891197 then see if anyone near you had a jig. Then contact them to borrow their jig instead of making one.

[Q] Bricked Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-i9070

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-i9070 which I was attempting to flash a new ROM onto via ODIN, everything looked successful, ODIN confirmed flash was a success and automatically rebooted the phone. Once the phone turned off, it never came back on. black screen. Tried removing the battery (fully charged at the time). Tried the usual Vol Down + Home Button + Power button and still nothing, done the same with the micro USB cable plugged in, device manager popped up in Windows and promptly closed again, some generic hard detected it didn't stay on the screen long enough for me to see.
So is it definitely bricked? is there any way to recover it, I've read some people have recovered variant models e.g. S5830 but this isn't working to the i7090. If it is bricked is the only option to try using a JIG? I've read a few posts but I'm not really that technical on the hardware side (any tutorials with pictures might help). If it does have to go to a service center can anyone recommend one I can post it to in the UK and generally how much does a unbricking service cost?
Apologies if I've missed any pertinent forum posts, but I have had a real good look around and kind of given up now, so any help would be be very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Try recovery mode and clear cache partition and dalvik if you can...

It does indeed look that way
I've ordered a USB from ebay and hoping that will bring it back from the dead, hopefully worth the £1.25. Can anyone answer the following question. What is the experience between soft bricked and hard bricked? do they both appear with a black screen, or does softbrick still boot but doesn't enter download mode.
Also does anyone know where I can find the stock firmware (Ginerbread) for the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-i9070P (on Orange UK)? tried looking but I'm going to need this if the JIG does indeed work!
Thanks in advance!

Seems like your phone unfortunately is a hard brick. The reason I think this is because one it doesn't respond to anything. Two the USB jig didn't work and three seeing as you thought that your phone was the Galaxy Ace it is most likely you flashed a Galaxy Ace rom which hard bricked your phone as it isn't meat for your phone.
