Ok for the longest time is note2 phones were on 4.1.2. So now we got mj9 release, but on stock browser there is no box or settings for auto fit pages. Like you would zoom in, double tap and it would correct the text. Maybe I'm missing something here? I see the text size slider, but still zoom in and you have go left 2 right to read a sentence.

On my old Dell Streak, and my Asus Transformer, I can zoom in on text until it was a comfortable size and double click it. This word wraps the text to the size of the screen.
I can't seem to do this on my beautiful new SGS2 The menu option "Auto fit pages" doesn't appear to work this way (although it is better than nothing)
Is there a way?
If u do search you'll definitely find answer in forum. I use Dolphin HD browser which does it with no probs.

I did search and although people asked the question, nobody appeared to have a valid answer.
opera mobile does it too.

I use Dolphin and it doesn't do it. Neither on any other application. So what's the solution?
On my old HTC it worked on anything I did it on.
I don't think that there's a solution for this (at least in the stock browser that I use), though I'm fine with the 'Auto-fit pages' option on.
What you're asking for is exactly what "Auto-fit pages" is for, and it works perfectly for me. I can only guess that something is different between our devices (branding changes, different FW versions etc..)
Despite being overkill for such a small issue, is trying a different ROM out of the question?
Solved it by enabling Pinch-zoom button. That is the -/+ that shows up in the bottom right of the browser when you touch the screen.
Strangely you have to use this and zooming with your fingers won't work as stated by this thread.

Pinch-to-zoom doesn't do it, but double tapping to zoom in/out does.
Double tapping won't get the zoom you require it will zoom to fit the screen.
Try enabling Pinch in Dolphin browser. It works and is already enabled in stock browser.

Not true. It zooms to suit the "Default zoom" setting.
The first attachment is normal viewing, and the second is after I double-clicked the top left of the article. As you can see, the text is reformatted to fit the screen (not the other way round), and it is more than large enough to read. This is with default zoom set to medium.
I know this is an old thread, but I found it by searching for a solution for this problem as I now have a Note with the same issue, on ICS.
I think it's Samsung’s fault. It worked perfectly on my Galaxy nexus.
however, the good news is that there is a solution.
Download ICS browser+ from Google Play. Its great.

You have to double click twice... First double click = zoom, second double click is text refllow.
After the second double click you can pinch and zoom to any desired level and the text will reflow accordingly :good:

Tried it but it won;t work. I did the automatically text reflow too option too and when I zoom in just past the screen it automatically zooms out.
Even if I do a double tap it automatically zooms out.
Maybe it's my firmware. I'm on stock "I9100XWLPD". Could you or anyone else that got this working let me know which "exact" stock firmware you have so I can give that a try?...
^ Tried 3 other Stock ROMS this morning and no dice with this working on ICS Browser+.
Which exact Stock ROM versions are you guys getting this to work on?...
Galaxy S3 - browser double tap = text not justified?
Galaxy S1 if i double tapped the webpage
it would zoom
and also arrange the text (kind of bunched it up) so i could read it all?
S3 is zooming but the text it wider than the zoom?
I don't know if its call justified text but i know what i'm on about
is it some sort of setting?
I believe you just need to go into Browser -> Settings -> Advanced and turn on Auto Fit pages. You want to be able to tap to zoom but keep text in field, is that correct?

Use boat browser or Opera
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I, myself, use Boat Browser on my non-S3. Most pages fit correctly when they zoom. This site (well the forums anyway) do not. I have to turn the phone landscape and then it fits correctly. that is using the Android UA. Using the Firfox or iPhone UA, it fits.

+1 - this was irritating the crap out of me!
On my xperia arc, when I double tap while reading something on the internet , it zooms in and I can read better without using side scrolls but in s3, double tap just zooms in closer. You would need the side scrolls to continue reading. How to fix this? I tried checking auto fit option in advance settings but it didn't help.
It's called "text reflow", change your title and you might get more hits.
For some reason Samsung haven't included this functionality in the browser. Perhaps some custom roms have a modded version, but my best bet is a different browser.
Chrome is nice, albeit no full screen. I'm using "quick ics browser".
Good luck mate

My eyes not that great. With the stock browser if I swipe to make the text larger it usually adjusts so all the text is still on the page to be read . Not on chrome. Have to swipe left n right. I looked for a setting. No luck. Any way to fix it?
I haven't used chrome in a while, but I believe you can zoom and then double tap to realign the text.

Tried it but that just takes it back to small text again.
uhh
The only reason I'm trying chrome is because after I flash a Rom my bookmarks are losttt in space. Gets old.

But your bookmarks should be saved if you use the stock browser and save them to your email account. All of my bookmarks transfer...

Chrome doesn't have the "text reflow" feature that the stock browser has. The closest you'll get in Chrome is to go to Settings>Accessibility and increase the default text size, which will hopefully help some, at least.
On my s4 running stock rooted mdk, I use the native gallery app to view photos and am always annoyed by the preview strip of thumbnails obscuring the bottom of the frame when viewing a single picture full screen. I'm not sure how this got activated, but I can find no way to turn it off, and searches haven't helped. Anyone have a solution?

Doesn't work. I can tap a thumbnail and navigate to that picture, or double tap the current one to zoom in. But single tap, or tap-and-hold, does nothing, not on my S4, anyway. I tried just about everything that seemed intuitive before posting this question.

Not sure if it'd work but maybe try clearing data on Gallery?

Must be a problem with your setup. The strip will go away on its own after a few seconds or if you tap the screen. Pretty sure there is no setting for this.
Data wipe and reboot availed nothing, but good suggestion, and thanks for confirming that this is abnormal behavior. I haven't really messed with the system apart from rooting MDK and freezing the OTA processes so I don't lose my unlocked bootloader...so I'm not sure what I did that would've messed up the gallery. But if I finally get round to installing a 4.4.x ROM, perhaps the problem will go away.
