Note 3 slim extended battery and other extended batteries question - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

I have 2 questions as followed:
1. Anyone here knows a slim extended battery that is better than original manufacturer Samsung battery ? By this, I meant better in real life, not on paper. I know a lot of batteries claiming 4800 mah but their performances are horrible.
2. Anyone can compare Hyperion vs zerolemon vs MPJ extended battery in terms of thickness.
Thanks so much.

1. Without a huge advance in battery tech since the time the N3 battery was designed, it's not possible. I am not aware of any such advance available to consumers, so any claims to have more capacity but be the same size are likely BS.
2. Most extended batteries will be about the same thickness, they are usually a second cell stacked on top of the main one. The ZeroLemon is the same, but instead of 2, they have 3, the top 2 are offset on top of the first one that goes inside the phone. So the thickness is about the same for all of them. The ZeroLemon will be heavier though. Partly due to the extra cell, partly the nicer case it comes with.

I don't think ZeroLemon has the single cell batteries available yet for the Note 3. When they do make one I might get it because the charger they give you has a USB port on it you can charge your phone with from the battery that's installed in it at the time which is a nice feature to have.

link for Zerolemon http://www.zerolemon.com/ or to order [email protected]

I am doing a review of the MBuynow 3900 mAh battery with NFC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2610855

As of yet they are not planning to make one, which is a shame

New 2200mAH battery from Expansys

There is a new double capacity 2200mAH battery in Expansys website:
http://www.expansys.com.hk/d.aspx?i=183044
Wonder how is the thickness increased by this new battery? Is there any impact to the GPS radio as seen in some extended battery in original Diamond?
I'm sure that the thickness increased!
Otherwise not be sold with cover. It is like the diamond 1.
This one is much more modest (1350 mAh), but seems to fit within the original back cover:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/DIAMOND2-LONG-LIFE-BA-S360-COMPATIBLE/dp/B002AANPYG
It seems that extended batteries are appearing on the net already, nice, I would like to have something a little bit more beefy than the original one (2200 mAh may be overkill), to be able to use my TD2 on the move while not worrying about saving battery (GPS and wifi while away from plugs for 1 day for example). A battery slightly larger than the orginal, plus the original as a backup, should cover all my uses cases...
The website mentioned the extended battery only price at GBP8.90. Wish buyer may get the goods.

Interrested about your test too: how does it fit, how long for charging it (compared to standard one), and of course the most important thing: does it offer increased battery life

I bought the same one, but the size is much smaller and a bit wider than the original, as I explain in my post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3943769#post3943769
I told the guy, and he told me there must be some mistake, and he' ll send it again. How does yours look like size-wise? Is it working properly?
any news on the 1350 battery?
The issue is solved, as I explain in my relevant post:

The battery I was given was wrong. The guy sent me the correct one now, and everything seems fine.

Same here... no picture posted yet, but i am sure it is going to be a very big one indeed.
It says it is 2.5 times more powerful than the original.
Though could be very indispensable for summer travellings and countryside picknicks far from civilization, but still to enjoy connected and secure feeling
Well, the 1900 mah one works great so far. It's quite possible that it will work as advertised.
Dang I'd buy it if it were in stock

The OEM Extended battery is big enough and I believe that was 2700mAh? I couldn't imagine how monstrous this thing must be, even if they do find a way to slim it down.
I suppose they could pull it off if they punched more holes in the layers and stuffed in some silicone. They'd be able to make it nearly the same size as the original OEM battery. I just don't think battery companies are doing that yet.
That's one enormous and expensive battery there. Having the oem extended battery, I don't know if I could take a much bigger battery, but it would depends on exactly how much bigger we're talking. The oem one gets me through 98% of days with absolutely no problem. The price would have to be a major consideration as well at almost 100 dollars.

wow epic battery life. Lol. My OEM extended battery lasts my just about 48 hours, I could only imagine how long that one would last, idk maybe 72!

I hope Mugen comes out with a battery that lasts a full year without recharging. I would pay $45,000 for it.
I wish they wouldn't charge so much for extended batteries.

lol it would be the size of a small horse! maybe you could ride it to work..............
i think we're getting somewhere...
That'd definitely be useful for people like me who love to run their phone at full speed and full brightness, but aren't near a power source most of the time. I only use my extended when I know I'm going to be out for awhile since it's such a beast, I can't imagine how huge this thing is going to be!
I just put in an order for mine should be here by end of april
Are they trying to bring the bagphone back? That's gotta be ginormous.
Thanks! gonna order a 1900 as soon as they are available
I ordered a Mugen Power 1900 mAh battery from a reputable vendor on ebay. It shipped and should be here by Thursday. It was even a few bucks cheaper than what the Mugen Power website was selling. They have over 10 of them in stock, according to the listing.
I also ordered the Mugen Power 4000 mAh battery from their website. It won't ship for a few weeks since the battery is on backorder.
I hope to do some comparative tests, like I did for my old Droid Razr, as well as a video review. But that will be next month, likely.

here's to hoping it's just creatively shaped... I feel like there's a lot of unused space behind the extended battery cover that a manufacturer could take advantage of (albeit a bit costly...)
UPDATE: Mugen says 4000 mAh battery is strong enough to power your car. Details here: http://www.thatbatteryistooEffinbig.com
how does this battery compare to the normal extended battery? would it fit in the case for the extended battery?

Dunno, 4000(mugen) - 2750(oem) = 1350 advantage(almost a standard battery) ...no pictures as of yet for size, but trust me I'll post a decent review when I get it sometime either this month or next. When ever the hell they get it to me.

3800mah battery

Saw this battery available on amazon. There is one with a white battery cover, blue carbon, and black. The batteries are stated to be 3800mah. I couldn't find much information about them.
http://www.amazon.com/Empire-qualit...H-i9220/dp/tech-data/B0089M7JYG/ref=de_a_smtd
Update: I went ahead and ordered one of the 3800Mah batteries. I will let you know how it performs when I get it in. I also will let you know if it will fit in the seidio holster.
Got the battery in and it is much larger than I thought it would be. It is about 2 1/2-3 times the thickness of the stock battery. I am on the second full charge and so far it doesn't seem to last any longer than the gold 3250mah battery that I have. Right now the battery monitor pro had the actual reading at 2992mah. It read the gold one as having 3302 mah after 4 charging cycles. I will compare again after I run this one thru 4 charging cycles. I hope to have some pictures posted this evening. If the rating doesn't change I will stick with the gold battery especially since it uses the stock battery door.

What 3250 are you using and does it require a new back? I would love a bigger battery, but the phone is big enough, any bigger and it won't fit in my pocket

They don't last any longer than the stock battery, there's no way a 3250mah battery is the same size as the stock one. Its a fake...
It is larger than the stock and you have to work the back cover on as it creates a tight fit. I honestly don't think it is the mah that is stated but it does last me about an hour or two more than stock depending on long I have the screen on. But back to what this post is about. I am seeing better numbers today with the 3800mah battery.
Update: Well I am going to bed so so I will be putting this on the charger for the 3rd cycle. Looks pretty good. Here is a final tally to show you in the screenshots.

Extended Battery Packs

I'm keeping an eye out for the availability of some power jacket extended battery packs.
Below are a couple of examples of solutions that are available for the standard Xperia Z.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bearcXdXdAc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6rE0Z0yczws
The first one is a generic Chinease one that is about availiable on ebay for about $25
The second one is the official mugen one that has recently come out.
Personally I think I prefer the cheep Chinese one. Anyway its all academic at the moment because there are no solutions out yet for the Ultra. Its pretty new out mind so I suspect that when the LTE models launch globally we will see such solutions. :good:
Would you consider using such a solution for your Ultra?
These stuffs does give the phone some extra weight, some may like it for easier handling due to it having more weight but kinds of defeats the purpose of the ZU design.
I'm currently using a 15000mAh powerbank with 2.1A and 1A output options.

You're talking to a man who has a 9000mAH Zerolemon battery on his Note 2
Each to his own of course but my personal preference is to have a powerjacket attached to the device rather than carry around a separate power bank.

Haha no worries, I owned one of the powerjackets for my Note 2 or was it S3, I'm fine with it but just speaking out generally since many users are going for thinner and thinner designs
I generally don't mind added thickness and weight, phones these days are going so thin and light, it makes me feel insecure holding them lol.

I was kind of excited when you posted this thread but when I saw the battery capacity and I went "mehhhh"
Cos anything equal to or less than the phone's own capacity.. is a little on the low side. Most of the time we will use the phone and use the power jack at the same time, which means even if it's equal to the phone's 3000mAh it would probably be able to charge it from 1% to say 50% only. Still useful in emergency times (beggars can't be choosers) but like you said, maybe 4000-5000mAh may be a better option considering these cheap China makes usually overstate their capacity and the battery degrades rather fast too.

Well they certainly have more surface area to play with on the Ultra, so lets hope the capacities supplied will be bigger. That's kind of too logical to be a reality though lol

Extended battery

Does anyone on here use the 5300mah extended battery for our phones? Was curious how much bigger it made it feel, how hot it got, yada yada. A pic of it in compared to stock would be splendid also! also if anyone has tried the "extended slim" battery that's supposed to fit with existing back (weighing my options) I love how this phone feels in my pocket and in my hands idk if I want something that's gonna make it a lot thicker. Thanks again guys. I love this forum lol.

Hi There,
I have the 5400mah from amazon, $9.99 with plastic door. Battery works good and door is not bad but will not last over time. I also have two 2700 mah which where $9-13 from amazon and came with wall mount charger they work awesome. I have had no issues with either battery types and love them all. I tripped over my charging cable while plugged in the phone and does not work. I am tied up at the moment, about to make a rom help thread haha...when i get time today or tomorrow i will post pics and answer further questions along with details and links. And i use my note for everything, games reading and video all day long, truly is my phablet.
The 2700's fit as if stock, use stock door.
