This process Fast-Dormancy-wakeup is constantly keeping my phone awake, is it safe to remove it? What is it used for?
Thanks in advance.

Its pretty useless but if you are not comfortable deleting it tahb simply go to system-apps and go to fast dormancy.apk and rename it to. apk.bak
U can use this method ddor whichever apps you don't want.... Just add .bak behind them and they will be frozen..

I doubt that. Deleted it yesterday and my camerabutton still starts the camera with screen off for about 30 mins, takes a picture and the message 'quick launch mode' appears.

It just controls fast dormancy. If you wanna know what fast dormancy is then just Google it.

Hey there...
I used to set up a wifi Hotspot with my Ace 2 to go online with my Nexus 7. However, I updated my Ace 2 to jelly bean (and rooted it) and now i can't get tethering to work again. I can not find the right settings in the system preferences and although I can see the "AndroidAP" in the nexus, it will not connect, stating a "authentification Problem"...but i did not even set up a password vor anything plus the Ace 2 was reset to factory before updating to JB...
Does anyone know what could be the problem?
Thanks so much!
Got it, just needed to define a longer password, apparently now there are 8 characters required.

Thanks for opening a new thread and turn off brain.

I know there's a lot of battery threads out there, I've been reading most of them but I got no help from them.
I recently updated my phone from ICS to JB, and now I'm running NeatROM and Siyah Kernel. And since the update I've noticed an abnormal battery drain. Just now, in 20 minutes, it has lost 3%.
Now, I'm not new to smartphones, so before you say, yes, I have done all the possible things to prevent the drain: Greenify, Wifi OFF, GPS OFF, Sync OFF, all OFF, battery saver mode, minimum brightness...
Actually now I'm using a generic 4300mAh battery from a friend and I only get a little more than a day. I'm using the phone but not in a hard way. Minimun time on wifi, some messages, one or two calls, and some internet surfing, not much.
Is it normal all this? Am I going mad? If you guys need any info/screenshots to maybe identify something please tell.
Thanks.
Usual fixes are go back to fully stock and see if it is still the same, if yes then replace the battery with a quality make, if still the same then probably a hardware fault.
Well, the change, as I said, was just after the change from ICS to JB, so I don't think it is any of those...

well then, try some battery monitor and check what's using the battery. use some task manager like ES Task Manager(for eg.) and stop all the background apps and manage start up apps. :good:

I'm using monitoring apps but I don't get much info. About managers and stuff, I'm already using them.

I've experienced almost the same issue, but I've installed some custom roms.
I am a fan of Wannam.
Try to install one of his roms (the latest) and check if that helps.
Regards
i found Google maps to be the biggest drainer... and if like me its installed to /system then greenify doesn't hibernate it... and those Damn network location updates nuke the battery in no time... convert to user app using titanium backup... Or remove from /system and reinstall from market... my battery lasts nearly two days after moving all Google bloat... greenify puts it all to sleep and phone doesn't wake up for anything except calls and texts... brill

I will do that with maps. With which any other Google bloatware should I do the same?
Try using wake lock detector it really gives a nice info on what process is taking your battery .
You could also try changing the cpu scaling logic. This seems to give the best battery life enhancement.
Gtalk aswell

I think the battery is going better now. I wiped the internal sdcard and now I have 70% with 8 hours of phone. Is that normal?
EDIT
I mean with stock battery. Also, I limited the CPU from 1400 to 900 long time ago.
I have also extracted the external sd because lately it was giving problems like removing and mounting itself a lot...
OK, so I got like 25 hours with normal-low use. Is that average?

Use Boeffla-Kernel. Best kernel in my opinion. Close to stock, more stable, more batteryfriendly Kernel with customization abilities compared to Stock-Kernel.
And-the music- much better with this Kernel and 'eargasm' Equalizer-setting *-*
Simply AWESOME!

I tried that but I didn't notice any battery improvement. Also, Voodo Sound is so much better, in my opinion.
Without a custom kernel you can not apply any undervolting or change the cpu scaling logic Max frequency etc.
Try a custom kernel again but this time dont just leave it with the default settings . Change them . Remember you can always install voodoo sound on top of any other sound mod.

As I said before (I think) I have already changed CPU stuff...
So I have had lux for a while and still don't know what set of samples is battery efficient and still giving me good screen-on time. Anyone have any good set-up? Feel free to share your profiles!

I haven't done anything with this app yet myself, but I too had the same question and found this a while back.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537770. Maybe it'll help.

Use Ascendingly, its the most responsible profile for that device.
-Lux use less than 1% of battery so dony bother about it, the brightness of the phone will be the best due to the light terms with that profile..,
In night it will get to -30% or even lower so if you use your phone in darks room or at night it even can save you battery at its way way more better then the stock auto brightness..
reemar what are your config in lux.
Gesendet von meinem LG-D802 mit Tapatalk 2
already talled you..
Adjust: Ascendingly
Using Profile: Auto (i set sunset location)
And i disable the status bar icon and notification because i hate a non-stop notification
+Drag Lux Dash to home launcher for quick check up..
[--no need to mention that i have the paid app, if you are cheapskate, this is not a problem to get the paid app for free, ask google, he will tell you..]
i am very satisfied with this app and the settings i set for that..
thank you reemar. i will apply your config now. lux is better than the standard brightness adjustment.

Hmm I haven't tried ascending yet. I'll have to give it a try.
