[Q] What are the current known issues with CM11? - HTC Droid DNA

Hey guys..
I'm still on 4.1.2 (by @newtoroot) because I'm an overseas GSM user and all of those new verizon roms (such as Nu and such) aren't so good for me..
I was thinking about switching between sense (although I love it) to CM.. I could tell that CM10.2 is pretty solid, by if I'm bothering and going to update - might as well update to the latest..
So why shouldn't I upgrade to CM11 (KK)? Are the current bugs/knows issues disruptive of normal function?
Cheers..

None that I know of. It was released as stable

You're confusing with cm10.2.. Cm11 just had a snapshot released about a week ago, but still no rc or stable..

No I'm not. Cm11 is stable. ......

Most functionality is 'stable', i.e. working, in the nightly releases.

Well, I'll return to my original question..
What are the open issues..?

Really none. I've been on cm I had no issues.
It's stable enough to use day to day without having problems.

Answers like this kill me. I haven't run it so I don't know the answer but I do know that what is acceptable to some isn't acceptable to others.
How about specifics:
How is the volume on ringtones?
Are their any delays with camera flash when taking a photo?
How is the sound quality on phonecalls?
Does WiFi consistently stay connected or does it feel as though it's not connected even though the phone says it is?
I ask these specifically because these are issues that have caused me to go back to sense from CM in the past.
Sorry if this post sounds accusatory or hostile. That is not my intention.

Don't use ringtones, vibrate only. Seriously, I don't need audio notifications when the thing vibrates loud enough to wake me.
No issues that I've found with the camera or flash, the HDR functionality is pretty amazing.
No issues with wifi, other than it tries to hang on too long some times.
Haven't had an issues with phone calls, although I don't make them very often.
LTE has been solid as well no throughput issues. It generally reports low signal strength, but that's because it's telling the truth.
Any other specifics you'd like?

use Pdanet?

I just wifi tether but it's still an issue with the rom.

couple of game issues?
I normally don't chime in, but this may be the place for me to get some help. So, let me start off that I'm S-off, latest RUU, latest radio. Ok, now that's out of the way.:good: I can run Sense ROM's with no issues, but when I flash a non-Sense ROM (or variant like ProBam most recently, but also CM11, CyanFox, etc.) everything works flawlessly - except Word with Friends and Whats the Phrase. If I'm on 3G or WiFi there seems to be no problems at all, but if I try to play on 4G the games lose their mind. Meaning - my move says submitting forever and I don't receive other players moves and at times each game will toast a message that it needs a network. I know, I know, it's trivial and I could just switch to 3G or WiFi (where available) and play, but I'd just like to know if anyone else has this experience? If so, is there a way to "fix" these games?
I've been to Google and back but can't find a solution.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.....

[Q] In Call Audio (microphone) Issue

I've been running cm10 on my jewel for awhile now, and lately the people on the other end of my phone calls have been complaining that I sound extremely muffled or distant, to the point that a phone call is almost impossible. I've contacted sprint and they say everything looks good on their end. Does anyone know the cause of this issue, or a fix?
Thanks in advance

I just posted the same question because I seemed to miss this thread. After poking around, I haven't been able to fix this either. It started right after the commit that played with the mic volumes. I have changed them back and built myself, but no luck so far. Does anyone know if there is an official bug ticket(if there is such a thing for CM)?

U get anywhere with this? On my third phone and it happens every time I root and install CM10.1 although the prob remains eben if I go back to sense based ROM. This is so frustrating and this is my primary work phone. Idk how its just u and I? I'm assuming with sprint being aware along with/ tech support /multipl3 replacements/weekly complaints - that they will allow me an early upgrade for the One or S4. Whichever is first because this has been a nightmare . Bluetooth the only usable format for voice calls. Headphones / earpiece ..."SORRY Sir are you on speaker phone I can barely hear you"...NOOO IM NOT ON SPEAKER ARGH... Sorry everyone for rant

A full wipe and flashing a sense ROM should fix it for you guys. If the problem persists after that there could be something physically wrong with the mic
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Thank you, but will flashing the stock ROM, then flashing back to CM10.1 still solve the problem? I don't want to run the stock Sense ROM.
Sent from my GT-P5110 using xda app-developers app
You don't have to do that. I had the same problem when i flashed a certain CM10.1 rom (cm10.1 black from swiperrat i believe). I simply wiped everything and installed irocevo's unofficial CM10.1 4.2.2 (the one with xperia z launcher and acid audio mod) and i was apparently perfectly clear after that. Give the rom a try, it fixed my issues.

same issue here, any solution found? it seems to be an issue of all aosp roms I download.
have you guys all tried Sense ROMs to see if they fix your problem? otherwise you might be in ipclark1's situation (i.e. a problem with the actual mic rather than a software issue).
i had no mic issues whatsoever on kushdeck's build:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2110920
no it works just fine with stock sense rom, so it must be a software issue

The latest commits to several updated JB roms are causing call sound issues.
Revert to your previous build, and then scan the threads for a suitable fix. They are out there, and just needing some searching to find.
It's an annoying little bug, and is kernel related.....g

Yes ....use his for a bit ...
My battery life has been great.
And I saw in another thread today, something about this audio bug in certain kernels causing a wakelock condition and not allowing the device to sleep.
This would explain most of the battery drain issues.
Download cpu spy from the play store and watch the cpu for proper sleep cycle.
I've had a solid sleep pattern, and great call quality using both the 3.0.9 kernel, and his 3.1.2 (untested) alt kernel.
But this has been on his latest 0306 build.
Good luck...and happy flashing...g
Well the goo.im isn't working for some reason. And I don't need anything really fast. Stock speed is great. What's the best CPU settings for solid battery life

You are amazing, thanks for the updates.
I used the first build for two days. I installed this one this morning.
Other than the sound issue, it is rock solid. Good data signal, MMS works, good GPS lock. I don't use Bluetooth so I can't speak to that.
Typical solid Jamie ROM.

Yes! Phone calls can be heard and still no system sound confirmed. I got a phone call right after flash..works. Feels a little more snappier and more responsive. Not bad.
Was able to archive root with first version and superuser 1.5 but can't seem too with newest verision. Tried superuser beta 2 and still no go.
Other than that, ROM seems fine, thanks Jamie.

Was able to archive root with first version and superuser 1.5 but can't seem too with newest verision. Tried superuser beta 2 and still no go.
Other than that, ROM seems fine, thanks Jamie.

Go to settings>superuser>settings and insure apps and adb are enabled. There is also a setting under developers options for this.

Double post. Weird!
Been trying second release and I have had zero problems other than sound. I'm really impressed.
Though test scores are low, real life speed seems fine and the ROM is smooth.
Edit:
First problem. I could not wake screen up, had to reboot phone.

Nice job Jamie. Smooth and stable. Can't wait to see where this ROM tops off at.

Nice!
Nice job! Can't wait for the final release, open gl 3 is really appealing, especially since there's a game cube emu on the play store I've been wanting to try

cm10.2 nightly built

Link to changelog and download: http://mobile.10.2.cmxlog.com/?device=quincyatt
The overall experience has improved from cm10.1 for example the scrolling is smoother and the notification drawer doesn't lag. Overall the first nightly is relatively smooth.

Doing that right now....
Installed fresh wiped with newest gapps. Had a few reboots so far. Usually after a phone call. Also noticed Bluetooth randomly disconnected but reconnects. Weird. Seems to have stabilized for now.

Battery charge does seem to be a LOT slower. And wifi keeps going in and out for me. Other than that, pretty flawless so far. No reboots to speak of and everything seems smooth. I also did fresh install.
Eager to try this out but don't want reboots, BT or Wifi issues!
I get; no torch, slider short cuts won't remove, and focal photo sphere doesnt work. Working good though can't wait to see it mature.

I've had no reboots or WiFi issues. Always reboot once after getting set up.

When I reboot my weather app, ram booster app, contacts app, floating notification app and active notifications app do not load up, I have to enable each app manually. Anyone else have this issue? Other than this minor is this rom rocks!

I don't seem to have root anymore after doing a clean install, what would be the fastest way to get root back?

just throwing this out there.............I have never done nightlies..........hmmmmmmm
isn't it kind of like being married? would this be waking up with same ROMan every morning? (anybody get it?)
do nightlies seem to get issues resolved on a quicker basis? not that I have had any yet with the 4.3's I have run so far. actually pretty impressed so far.
Depending on your style of life (and view of marriage) it's more like being married but waking up with a different sister every morning. Problems may be resolved faster on nightlys (or not truthfully) but new ones are likely to arrive just as quickly. Plus we
are warned not to send in bug reports because being nightlys they are supposed to have bugs. I never completely understood that because we seem to be an ideal audience from which to get feedback. But those seem
to be the rules.

really, waking up with a different sister? are you from the south?
you would think nightlies should be more stable. sounds like its a yes but no? which makes it a personal preference and what are you willing to tolerate or sacrifice? pretty much like everything else.
it makes things more sporting anyway. after a month on the most solid ROM my phone has ever been on, I was getting bored.
I just keep following the forums, trying different nightlys, and wait for that gem that comes along and everything works like a dream. Those gems are few and far between sometimes, but usually worth the wait. And so far, 10.2 is off to a good start!

Exactly. It's mostly a cure for boredom. Sort of like Southern sisters. Actually, putting it that way, the rule against complaining seems almost chivalrous, doesn't it?
