Anyways what's some your opinions on this phone ( htc max) ?
Pros and cons in your opinions?

about to get s2 couple of questions

Hi,
Been following various threads now for weeks on both the htc sensaton and the s2 and im having some serious troubles making mind up.
I checked both phones in my local store recently and love the amoled screen , when i was comparing photos on both phones i couldent help but notice how much better the s2 screen is there was so much more detail on the pre loaded photos the s2 was the clear winner.
Although i will miss sense i think i can do without it as the sensation screen doesent look like it belongs on a high end phone due to week viewing angles .... and to be honest seems to be littered with production issues. Anyhow i think im close to going with the s2 however recently i noticed a thread about colour banding in various applications mostly games and this has me worryed about my purchase do many people have this or find it a issue ? Also is it possible to use uot kitchen or is this for plain roms / sense ?
I really like this phone but obviously want to make sure im making right choice as ill have to keep it for 18 mnths any feedback apprecaited thanks
you might want to check Samsung Nexus Prime. Supposed to have better specs than SGS2. We hope to get more details about this phone. Rumors are that this will be out by October this year
Yeah its so unfortunate that SGS2 becoming obsolete within months :-(

Think Techradar has a comparison against sensation.
I came from a HTC Magic > HTC Desire > HTC Sensa-...Samsung Galaxy S11 - And I;ve never looked back.
...Assuming whichever you get you'll root, in which case base comparison from the hardware not the software i.e. sense. As there will be a 'sensified' rom available for galaxy at some stage (if not already).

Yeh ive been reading loads about both phones but thanks for posting links , i think ultimitly ill end up getting this phone the screen is ace and a major + point for me as mentioned previously when i demoed both phones and compared the same pictures in gallery i was shocked about how much more detail the samsung had over the sensation .... no matter how much i zoomed in it still looked slightly blurred weird.
Only think im a bit gutted about is losing sense but tbh im not so keen on 3.5 as it seems to have taken a step backward in design apart from the lockring.
In relation to another reply , i will indeed be rooting my phone ... im coming from a htc desire which has been great thanks to the support of the devs on this forum. I take it we cant use the uot kitchen on samsung roms ?
Only thing im not keen on here is how android development is so split but other then that thumbs up
Yeah the camera and size of the Samsung is amazing.
Most reviews place the S2 as fractional leader over the Sensation.
P.s. I came from a desire and picked up a Zagg invisible screen, when I took it off the desire looked brand new with not a scratch on it. Best case ever! I have since picked one up for the S2 and I suggest anyone else does the same.
P.s. Cyanogen nightly is already available for S2 so stable can't be far off!

Yes UOT kitchen works, all options apart from the lockscreen work.
As far as banding issues go, I suppose its personal, I see a bit on grays, but its ok for me.
In general the screen is really amazing, and I don't have any complaints about the phone.
I had a sensation prior to my s2 but had to return it due to a not very well talked about flaw.
When connected to wifi and then phone in landscape mode the wifi signal dies due to the location of the antennae.
Also there is alot more development for the samsung on here which helps.
S2 gets my vote

Wait for a couple of months will be my advice.. SGS2 is awesome, but the low ppi of the screen is a deterent..The screen would have been a jawbreaker with more resolution(not that is is bad now)...
My advice would be to by the next new one in the galaxy series, or the nexus prime, provided they have atleast 250ppi..
HTC sense 3.5 is much better as far as what I hear.. But their screens have recently been below par.....

Help me soon

MOTOROLA ATRIX 4G , MOTOROLA DROID RAZR , SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE , GALAXY S2 , GOOGLE NEXUS S 4G AND GOOGLE NEXUS S , which one should i buy , made more than 5-6 hours of comparison, review , still confused
Start by eliminating everything Motorola as it is junk. Galaxy s 2 or galaxy nexus.

I would say Galaxy Note, but that depends on you liking a
5 inch mammoth of a phone. Outside of that, Galaxy
Nexus or SII would be my next choices.
Thanks for the reply ...
fine dude , if i opt for samsung which one should i go for it ? i can go upto $650 not more than that . r8 now am using motorola defy and am very much pleased with that , will take your comments as my buying option .
Motorola makes decent phones hardware wise, but they lock the bootloaders, install tons of bloatware and make your phone model obsolete in a few months.
Samsung galaxy S 2, why ? Cause i have him! Best phone.

Moving to Q&A
I think the Galaxy SII is the better android phone now. If you want to want to hack him, there is a lot of ROM availables. Some of my friends have it, the screen is very good, and the battery life seems to be pretty decent too. It's a powerful, and beautiful. Take it
Thanks for the reply ...
guess i made this post in Q and A only !
and above now the options are S2 or nexus or note ?
Just as a note (no phone pun intended) if you go with the S2 I'd personally recommend trying to get one that's more standard GSM, international version for example avoid the Samsung Epic 4G Touch if possible, it has a bigger screen, but it's not as compatible as the other variants are... the GSM versions seem to have more ROM options, I guess maybe it's due to the CDMA modem in the E4GT, but there isn't even a full-compatible release of Cyanogenmod for the E4GT and the official ICS isn't out for it either. I have the E4GT and I really like it, but I bought it thinking Cyanogenmod was already out for it, but it was only available for the other SG2 models. The same might be true for Skyrocket? Just something to think about.
I surely would buy Sgs II.
I own a Galaxy S. My bro has a Sgs II and i felt in love with his phone. ABSOLUTELY GREAT.
Galaxy Nexus is awesome too but i didnt saw it in person
no choice
hi, i got samsung galaxy 2 (sgs2) for almost half a year - couldnt be happier!!!! my friends with nexus and motorolla are sorry they didnt get my phone. I suggest to get either sgs2 or samsung note depending on the size you are comfortable with as they are practically identical aprt from the screen size.
Also, dont forget that sgs3 will be out in few month and 3d phones are about to start their crusaide.
Go to gsmarena.com and do a comparison (under the photo of the phone on th eleft click on COMPARE) with any of the phones and by spec sg2 will will - by user experience as well @gsmarena.com/[email protected]
hope it helps...

[Q] Galaxy S II vs HTC One S

So with the HTC One series launching next month and me needing a new phone I liked the looks and spec of the HTC One S. After digging some deeper I noticed you can't expand the storage (16GB stock) and it has a unibody, can't replace battery or pull it out when it hangs. After those findings I started looking for an alternative and found the Galaxy S II (been around bit longer, but never really payed attention to it) and seems to have almost the same specs.
Now I do want some input from my fellow XDA'rs
What do you think will be the best choice, HTC One S or the Galaxy S II?
Definitely go for the Galaxy S II, is an amazing phone, i got one. Very fast, stable, and you can do everything with it.
I've been using SGSII for a couple of months now, and I can say it's amazing. Perhaps they could have made a bit better body, I pretty much like the sturdiness of HTC, but as far as hardware goes, SGSII is excellent.
I'm still on stock Samsung ROM and it works like a charm, though I think I'm gonna flash ICS ROM in the next couple of days .
Some people like it, some don't, but it's just matter of taste I guess.
So, definitely a +1 for the SGSII.
The HTC One S is better than The SGS 2. I've used them both.
don't listen to the Samsung Fanboys

You won't get any lagg, but then I could say that the Droid Razr maxx is faster, because they're both almost the same thicknesses but the maxx has a 3300mAh battery which will last 4ever..
But between the SGS 2 and the One s.
One S wins hands down.

just a short question! Need advice!!

Hi everyone.
I'm thinking on buying one of this 2 phones:
- Htc one x
- Samsung glx s3
but i just wanna know from the people who own them or used some times, wich one is better? Like i saw lots of reviews and stuff but always telling about the speed of the processor and scores that they get. What i really need is to know how it is day-to-day use, like wich is good on playing games and also get some good baterry (like a day at least), get good video/fotos, etc
other question: i have an nexus s and i always get the lattest versions of software like now i have 4.1.1 for 3 weeks, so does this phones get also the lattest releases quick? (s2 for exemple was top level device but the galaxy nexus was better on getting the last releases)
Sorry on my english but i've tryed my best.
Thank you all.
cheers
These are two of the most competing phone on the market. There are plenty of S3 vs One X videos.
Gaming goes to S3, and battery life is supposed to be very very good on it too.
One X's camera I heard is quite amazing.
As for updates, Nexus got them faster than S2 because its a nexus device, S2 is not. But S2 had plenty of ROMs. S3 should have a lot of development as well.

[Q] G3, S5 or something else?

I'm finally moving on from my original Samsung Galaxy Note, and I'm debating what device to move to. This will be my one and only phone, so I'm looking for something well rounded.
After reading reviews of a lot of the best phones on the market, I'm leaning towards a LG G3. It looks and feels fantastic, has a really good camera in both day & night conditions, the screen is awesome, it *seems* to hold up underwater (in spite of no official IP rating), the battery life seems pretty good, etc.
That said, some of the overheating issues I've read about are worrisome - as well as a few other stability issues... I'm not sure how much stock to put in that.
So I'm also considering the Samsung Galaxy S5. It doesn't feel as great, the screen isn't as mindblowing - although it is more vibrant, the camera doesn't do as well in the dark, it seems like one of the most durable phones out there, etc.
Is the S5 significantly more stable than the G3? How do the development communities compare - are they on par in that regard? Can the stability / overheating issues of the G3 be successfully mitigated with tweaks? Is it going to be a nightmare to wrangle into shape?
Or is there another AT&T phone that you'd recommend? Other phones on my radar include the Flex, Note 4, M8 and OnePlus One...
I guess I'm looking for something that's going to hold up as a primary phone for a long time, both in terms of durability and specs, without becoming a nightmare to manage as my Galaxy Note has... and aside from that, my priorities include battery life, stability, video recording (especially in dark conditions), processing power, screen, look / feel, etc. in roughly that order.
Hi,
There are 3 threads already established that are devoted to discussions about devices, please read, and if necessary, repost your question in one of these threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.
There are also several other discussion threads that you probably should review to help you. They are What phone do you wish you had? or
The Worst Android Device That You've Ever Had & Why or even this place that talks about The best phone you ever owned.
I will close this so that you can take a look at those threads. You will find that they will be a great help to you when trying to make a decision.
