Hi,
I want to restock my HOX+. I found the RUUs here www-androidruu-com/?developer=ENRC2B , but I'm not quite sure wich one to use.
My HOX+ is International, Europe, HBOOT 1.70 , radio radio 3.1204.171.33 , currently running CM11 4.4.2.
Can anyone point me out to which of the RUUs should I use?
Thanks.

You can't use any of those unless your phone is S-OFF. The last HBOOT version that allowed to run the 1.17.xxx.x RUU was 1.35. You need stock CWM/TWRP Backup and matching boot.img + recovery, then you can go back to stock.
I'm S-ON. I was afraid of that. And of course I don't have a stock back-up.
Do they even plan to release a RUU for 1.70 ?
P.S. : This CAPTCHA sucks.
I think is your only solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2414238
If you can wait a few hours, I upgraded my hboot etc, which will restock you also... using the method in mikes thread, I'll do a write up for you

Great, thanks a lot.
Btw, my HBOOT is 1.72 , I miss typed it in the original post.
@ady2pak sorry for the delay in doing this for you.
What i had done to upgrade mine from 1.35 i think it was (the following will be the same for 1.72 to pure stock)
1st up relock the bootloader (ignore restocking the recovery)
find your cid version with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tritonsoft.cidgetter&hl=en_GB
The cid needs to be the same as the one's here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995685
if that's all good, then i'm hoping and assuming that this is the correct cid + hboot

How to flash?(bootloader needs to be relocked)
Re-lock your bootloader (this will most probably wipe content of your device)
Copy downloaded .zip to fastboot.exe location (e.g. c:/SDK/platform-tools/fastboot.exe)
Re-name .zip file to firmware.zip
Open command prompt
Boot your device in fastboot mode (vol down + power ===> fastboot)
Connect device to the PC
In command prompt cd to fastboot.exe location
Make sure you have correct modeid and cidnum (type: fastboot getvar all)
Type: fastboot oem lock (if your device is not relocked yet)
Type: fastboot oem rebootRUU and wait for device to reboot
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Sometimes flashing for the first time doesn't work, so flash firmware.zip again just to make sure.
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Type: fastboot reboot
Unlock your bootloader and flash custom recovery if you are going to use custom ROM.

IF an error shows up while doing fastboot flash zip firmware.zip, just do fastboot flash zip firmware.zip again

If you ever unlocked it before, it's void of warranty. Even if you re-lock it, HBOOT will say RE-LOCKED.

If you have S-Off and can get hold of one of the older bootloader images, you can flash it from fastboot, with the command "fastboot flash hboot xxx.img"
Your problem is the boot.img though. Are you sure your S-Off? As the error message you get, is because the bootloader is locked. Maybe try unlocking the bootloader too. Or as your S-Off, put the boot.img in an update.zip and flash from recovery.

** UPDATE **
Got past the stuck screen by doing this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386084 Jeez.
Tried to install the .12 RUU but this failed repeatedly with an error 155. Wasn't sure if this was caused by a newer HBOOT or a different firmware. Downloaded a KK RUU from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276
Almost back to stock. Now need to get rid of the RELOCKED message in the bootloader. Will attack that later.
I'm trying to get my phone back to stock so I can return it to AT&T due to the purple camera problem. What I was attempting to do was to restore a 4.1.2 JB nandroid backup, then install an RUU as described in post #55 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2394155&page=6
I had changed the cid number back to CWS__001 and restored the nandroid backup. When I went to reboot the phone I got the AT&T animation, then the HTC One screen. This is where I'm stuck. I can't reboot into recovery or anything. Is this phone recoverable or am I SOL? Thanks for any help.
These were my settings before I started this.

Stay s-off, lock bootloader with revone -l, then flash 3.17.502.3 RUU. That should do it.
RUU : http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2.exe
I'm also trying to revert to stock in order to return to HTC for purple tint issue. I am running an AT&T HTC One.
Originally, I followed the instructions on this thread and basically converted my phone to GPE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781).
To revert to stock I followed these instructions (http://www.htc1guru.com/guides/return-stock-guide/) multiple times and kept failing getting the error 155 message. I was using the RUU.exe file. Eventually I got stuck and decided to follow another post on a different site. That post had me re-lock the bootloader and rever to S-ON. Then all went to hell. Bootloop city.
I was able to load TWRP recovery and I side-loaded a different ROM that I had from when I was first tinkering around with custom ROMs (the one described here http://htconeroot.com/htc-one-stock-roms/android-4-4-kitkat-sense-5-5-stock-rom-for-htc-one/). It booted but threw tons of errors and was unusable. So, I re-unlocked my bootloader (still S-ON) and this time ran the RUU.exe (named RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_Cingular_US_1.26.502.12_Radio_4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_318450_signed_2.exe). Only instead of run through the GUI I tried to use fastboot to load the rom.zip that was extracted to a temp folder. It ran but ended up failing with the error "FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))."
I believe I then reinstalled the rom from (http://htconeroot.com/htc-one-stock-roms/android-4-4-kitkat-sense-5-5-stock-rom-for-htc-one/) and now it it boots and is "working."
Here is where I am at:
TAMPERED
UNLOCKED
S-ON
hboot 1.54
TWRP 2.6.3.3 recovery (note: when I boot into recovery i see a Google logo with an unlocked padlock)
this ROM, rooted: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/HTCOne/M7/roms/Sense4.4/One_4.06.1540.2_odexed.zip
When I boot the system from power off I get the htc animation with no other warning text
If I boot the system from TWRP recovery I first get the Google logo with an unlocked padlock, followed by the htc animation with no other warning text.
I assume I need to go back to S-OFF, lock the bootloader and run an RUU, but I'm concerned about the error 155, as well as the "too many links" error.
Here is the log from the RUU.exe that fails:

The revone switch worked. I wasn't sure if it would since I was on 4.4.2 and what I have READ didn't really say it would work or not since it was for 4.2 ROMs. The RUU in your link just gave me the error 155, so I installed the KK RUU I linked above. Took the phone by AT&T today and got it switched out.
BTW, thanks for the NOOB link, much appreciated, since I spend hours reading through these forums.

Thanks. Do I need S-OFF to flash this RUU? I am unlocked and rooted but don't have S-OFF and it wouldn't flash. It starts sending 1/5 and then the program freezes up and windows error recovery comes up and I get a 171 error. I'm also running TWRP recovery.

I just get an error message saying htc_fastboot.exe has stopped working.
I tried extracting the zip from a temp folder and flashing it but I get this back:
Code:
c:\HTCOne\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20131030\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash zip rom.zip
target reported max download size of 1526722560 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi
In the meantime, I may have screwed myself up even more (or potentially not?).
After the above error messages, I went in search of an alternative method to get myself up and running again. I followed the instructions by OP in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283112 and they "worked." However, when the phone boots my touchscreen is unresponsive. I was thinking of trying to go back to full GPE and either starting over, or just sending the device in like that and keeping my fingers crossed

Stay s-off, lock bootloader with revone -l, then flash 3.17.502.3 RUU. That should do it.

Is a locked bootloader needed to run a signed ruu.exe when S-OFF? I thought lock status didn't matter when S-OFF. Or was that to just get rid of the RELOCKED banner the OP had? I may need to run this as well, so just need to make sure. Thanks.

Locked bootloader is not require to RUU when s-off. OP just wanted to remove relocked.
Hello,
I am going to sell my T-Mobile HTC One, but I would like to return my device back to stock using the RUU method.
Here is what pops up when I issue the command fastboot getvar all:

My HTC One is S-OFF, unlocked bootloader, with TWRP 2.6.3.3 installed. Not sure if it matters but I'm running ARHD 82.0. I already have the 6.10.531.9 RUU file from the official HTC Support website.
So my question is: How do I run this RUU? Do I need to do anything to my phone before running the RUU.exe file? And after flashing the RUU, will I still receive OTA's from T-Mobile?
Thanks.
You have to relock your bootloader. After that, just boot your phone into fastboot and run the RUU.exe
You'll receive the OTA from TMO again. I've done it a few time.

Yes you'll retain your S-OFF after it and you can unlock it again if you want.

@JSing
FYI, if you are S-OFF you do not need to relock your bootloader to run a RUU or firmware.
Which RUU are you using, by chance. I am doing the same thing and trying to figure out which one I need. North American, unlocked. 32 GB. T Mobile.

I have been trying all day to downgrade to 4.4.4 using RUU and zip files but no luck so far.
I have decided to finally go for sunshine. BUT sunshine wants me to use a stock or near stock rom. What rom would you suggest me to install? Or what other options do I have at this point?

You are only "downgrading" the ROM, not the firmware. RUU should work fine, as long as its the AT&T 4.4.4 RUU. Did you relock the bootloader? Any error messages for the RUU?
No idea what "zip files" you are trying to flash (stock ROM, firmware, zip full of porn?) as you are the opposite of specific.

Its pretty self explanatory, a stock AT&T ROM is your best best.

I keep on getting error 155 from RUU. and attempting to lock bootloader gives me SPMI write failure.
I have tried this file last:

still no go

Everything on the phone looks okay to run an AT&T RUU. It sounds like you tried more than one, so that pretty much eliminates the possibility the RUU file was damaged/corrupt, etc.
Did you by change convert to GPE (black bootloader screen)?
Appreciate any help. I'm considering all options. My phone got stuck on the boot screen after taking a security update and I was wondering if it's possible to just flash the Marshmallow RUU , i don't mind losing the data its already backed up.
Unlocked bootloader, S-OFF
Variant - M8_UL_CA
CID - BS_US001
OS - 4.16.1540.8
You'll need to flash the MM firmware first (this is a peculiarity with the MM RUU - if you don't the RUU will fail with Error 155), then flashing the RUU is fine.
Also, in the current configuration, you'll need to flash the Developer's Edition RUU (not sure if that is what you meant).
But otherwise, if you are fine with losing your data, I don't seen an issue with running the RUU.

The info above indicates you have the Sprint version. This forum section is specific to the AT&T version M8.
The RUU zips you are looking for, are here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
Also, you should delete your IMEI, serial number, and MEID from the getvar data. Those are personal info, that should never be posted in open forums.

Look in my Index thread under "RUU" and you will find a link for the Marshmallow RUU 6.20.502.5 as well as a note (in red font) on flashing the firmware.zip before installing the RUU.
So flash the firmware.zip in fastbootRUU mode, than install the RUU (with phone connected to PC). That is all you need to do.
Did you relock the bootloader to run an RUU, or was it already relocked when you got the phone?

I think you mean to say: the phone was already bootloader relocked when I got the phone.
In any case, you can do as I stated in the previous post. Backup any personal data you want to keep, before you install the RUU. The RUU will wipe the phone.

So do i need my bootloader locked before trying to install MM Firmware then MM Ruu? I am on the same version as of Android 5.0.2, Software 4.28.502.1 and Sense 6.0 as Homblala up above. Mine HTC One M8 is an ATT Version

Correct. Bootloader must be locked or relocked to flash firmware and/or RUU. Unlocked bootloader will not allow firmware/RUU to install. Exception is if you have s-off (which bypasses the requirement to relock the bootloader).
Unbricked )

I know what you did. I just don't think you do.
Read my responses to your other threads/posts for a more detailed explanation. No boot after flashing firmware is completely normal and expected. I told you to flash firmware and RUU. You only did firmware.
