[Q] Galaxy Note II LTE locked to carrier - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

We were given a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE by one of our customers. But we can't use it, as it is apparently locked to their mobile company, so it can't use a sim card for danish carriers.
I am told that the only way to fix this, is to root the phone. But what is needed and how do I do this? I don't need any extra features at all, just the lock removed.
I hope someone can help.

[Q] Tmobile Samsung galaxy s3 which model?

This is driving me crazy. I have spent the last 3 days trying to figure out which model to get. I want the best speed available. I assume that is LTE 4G. There are too many models available. It is too confusing for me and calling T mobile is useless since none of their employees seem to know what is going on and so far 4 different employees have told me different things.
I am buying an UNLOCKED Samsung Galaxy S3. I want the freedom to be able to use any carrier I want when I want. I am in the US. Apparently not all the models of the Galaxy S3 have 4G LTE capabilities. Which model has it please tell me. I just want to buy a phone. I never knew it would be this difficult.
GT i9305 SGH T999 i535. i747. i9300.
If I use Tmobile I want the LTE 4 G. the fastest internet possible.
I am buying the phone on EBAY listed as UNLOCKED

Questions go in the q&a forum, ask an admin to move your post.
Suggest you buy a phone that will work best in your country, the i9300 and i9305 won't due to region lock on newer firmware.

[Q] U.S.Cellular SIII to straighttalk

Another noob baptismal ... Here goes ,,, I.may soon be the recipient of a Samsung Galaxy S3 U.S. cellular (SCH-R530) ... Of course its locked and I will also be repairing the screen it looks like.
Currently, I have an SCH-720C (Samsung Proclaim) bought from StraightTalk and running on Verizon towers, completely stock. Since both are CDMA units, will it be possible to unlock the S3 and find a way to use that phone on my straighttalk account?
If so, what will be required? Can I plug and play using the Straighttalk sim?
Thanks for the warm welcome.

The Verizon Galaxy Nexus does not support GSM at all. This is a hardware limitation, not something that can be overcome by any software or unlocking means. You could have it flashed to another prepaid CDMA network or see if Straight Talk would support it under the BYOP program or something along those lines.

Edit: And yes, I know many VZW phones that have SIM cards can be world phones and work here or be modded to work here on other GSM networks. I actually do stuff like that at my shop, but this is not one of those phones.

Can't I switch service providers with a rooted phone?

I have a Samsung note 3 that was originally from Sprint and a Samsung galaxy 5 that was with At&T. I rooted both these phones thinking that I'd be able to use them on T-Mobile then, but when I put T-Mobile sim cards in them at the store they didn't work. Is there something else I have to do?
