I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by myself [Scott Hart]. This is a build composed off of the CM10.2 builds and i[Scott Hart] have added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my[Scott Hart's] current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I[Scott Hart] plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

So far this is incredibly fast and smooth. I picked the mini pa-gapps btw.

I had a Status Error #7, failure to mount /system when flashing this, I even flashed it twice after getting that message the first flash.
I'm coming from an ICS ROM using CWM 5.x.x.x not TWRP...

You might want to check out the directions in the OP of Meticulous' Slim kat, the one that says coming from pre 1.7 I believe that should work I had the same problem as you and following those instructions to the letter should work

I saw those instructions from that ROM, and that's what I did (wipe everything, wipe and format system), I don't have an international device so I didn't flash that Korean kernel, but I still couldn't get it to flash.

You might try flashing Slimbean 4.3 first. Usually when there are flashing issues that works.:good:
I went back to your construction of slimkat even is unstable this rom, the Spanish is not fully translated, I think the international kernel does not work well, I can not remove Gapps with super user, will wait a bit more, I still like your rom SlimKat: D, although this seems more customizable when I would like to try this more stable, and should remove the nova launcher and selector
I am also on international kernel and everything is working as it should.
It has some minor bugs, like weird formatting in xda forums when using chrome beta, not being able to mount system rw in order to edit build.prop (low_ram=false) for transparent status bar, etc.
But overall it feels superior to any pre 4.4 ROM.
Edit: And apparently you even fixed the "2 cards in mass storage" bug from SlimKat, as both cards are showing up when connected in Windows.
Thanks, Meticulus!

CM has the "2 cards in mass storage" fixed and this rom is based on CM, therefore .... I'm not sure what's up with remounting but if you "adb root" then "adb remount" build.prop editing should work.:good:

There must be some sort of configuration issue with the GPS because it does not work for me at all. Wifi Geolocation works (Battery Saving) mode but (Device Only) mode does not work.
Does anybody else have GPS working in (Device Only) mode? Perhaps it is a USA/INT difference....
I am using high accuracy mode. And I just came back from a trip, where Sygic took me. It works even better than on previous android versions, ironically.
If I can help you with some kind of log, just tell me what to do
Edit: Somehow the device hangs extremely at times and then suddenly goes back to normal (which is ridiculously fast on this ROM.)
I don't know if this is due to me using ART, CrossBreeder, OC to 1,2 Ghz or whatever, or if this is just expected behavior on such a low-spec device (after all it always has had its lags )

ROM works amazing as expected. The issues with 3G data over T-Mo has been fixed. ROM is very stable and ia2sd works flawlessly so far. I have yet to run into any bugs or have any complaints. You have midterm early haha, I don't start exams at university until two weeks from now
did encrypted working on this ?
This ROM is fantastic, very stable stable and fast. One issue I have noticed is the desk clock does not launch when the phone is placed in the cradle.
Great job man. Super stable and smooth. As always.

Edit
Camera is not working properly. Crashed when I tried to take a picture then went crazy and my home screen kept going blank and flashing. Had to reboot.
Edit2
Wiped camera data in app management and it worked that time. Will test all day tomorrow and see how everything goes.
Complete wipe (5x factory, 5x cache/dev).

Any ics rom will require blackrose.
Sam must have forgot to include that in the op as this is a new thread.
Does require blackrose though.

Oh it looks good. I edit it (light rom)

Thanks for your hard work, looks great...
Good job!~ I hope the 3.0 kernel will come out soon~
And maybe you can put the stats bar at the bottom just like the real tablet one.
Very nice rom. The rom control settings are now fixed but when loading the apps list, it reboots. Still made excellent progress...I can do without the apps section for now under settings. It seems that everything is working very well except for the obvious features such as Bluetooth and camera. This is a good daily driver for me!!!
Very nice!
I do had to patch vold.fstab to be able to use my internal memory as SDcard, since I don't have a normal SD card.
Edit: any way to enable the lights on the hardware buttons?
And camera?
hardware acceleration?
I heard the hardware is the same for a large part as some Samsung phone, can't we use the same drivers?
Can you try to compile the openvpn module for this kernel?
Nice! good to see some progress
Rueben nice job you have just been in fire for the past few weeks man. Keep releasing good roms.

Some apps cause this behavior; I had to do a data/system wipe. I don't know about you, but after I booted, all my apps were restored from my google account that I had downloaded.
P.S. Gonna try to change DPI to 120 and see what happens!
EDIT: No tablet mode on this ROM guys
Feature Request: I actually have two feature requests; 1.Tablet Mode(Can't live without it) 2. Per App Density Settings (As seen in Paranoid Android)
THanks so very much for this! Very fast, just like your other ROMs!
I'm not going to flash this as I need the camera but I wanted to post to thank you for your work. Hopefully we can get the 3.0 kernel soon.

HWA
Hey guys, how noticable is the lack of HWA?
All I use is the music player and play games like Angry Birds, etc. Or is it a no-go at this point?
Thanks

Description
Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. I personally have a high standard when it comes to releases and this is why this project always meets the expectations of users. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

• How can I disable alarm icon?
You can enable/disable alarm icon in statusbar in Clock > Settings.
You can enable/disable next alarm information on Chronus widget in RootBox Settings > Chronus > Clock and alarm.
B
Battery
• How can I save my battery? (Without flashing anything or undervolt kernel)
You can check all apps/functions which sync in background like GPS, Wlan or Social accounts (If not needed = disable)
Set the Brightness down (Settings > Display > Brightness)
Use dark (best black) theme & wallpaper & lockscreenwallpaper
Bluetooth
• I have bluetooth issues (a2dp). What can I do?
Know issue and it will be fixed eventually.
C
Chronus
• How can I place Chronus on lockscreen?
Look into Lockscreen section below.
• Where do I configure Chronus?
RootBox Settings > Chronus. There you can configure Clock + Weather + Calendar settings. Note that all these settings apply to both homescreen and lockscreen Chronus widget.
• How can I change color of Chronus widget?
You cannot ATM. You can only change color of standard clock. Or you can use theme which changes color of Chronus, e.g. Hue themes by Kroz.
D
DPI
• How can I customize DPI?
There are basically two ways to do so.
Change overall system DPI
You can change overall system DPI by editing build.prop system file. We do not recommend to do that manually.
Use some user-friendly app from Play store, e.g. Texdroider. But remember that you have to use multidpi playstore then to be able to install other apps without problems.
Change per-app DPI
You can use Per-App Settings integrated into this ROM:
First, all credits associate to Xposed Frameworks and Modules goes to Rovo89 for sharing his work and making it open source for everyone. You guys should all buy him a beer.
Steps to follow:
1) Install Xposed Frameworks by going in Modules Management>Install/Update
2) Enable Per-App Settings by going in Modules Management> Modules>Tick RootBox Per-App Settings (You should reboot your phone at this point)
3) Setup your phone : Per-App Settings>Choose your app>Set DPI/Resolution/Tablet UI/Language> Press Save on top
4) Your app should now display in your preferred settings. If it doesnt, kill the app and restart it or reboot phone.
• My device isn’t supported in playstore after changing DPI
You have to use the MultiDPI-Playstore here from URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4534385"] “MyLifeRocks10”:
=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871
Data
• I can't find the Data toggle!?
It's renamed to "signal".
E
Expanded Desktop
• Can I use Expanded desktop on this ROM?
Yes. Enable it in RootBox Settings and switch it on or off in Power menu.
F
Flashing
• How to flash this ROM?
It depends on your starting position. Here are possible options:
Option 1: Updating RootBox with stable/nightly version without major changes - Without Full Wipe
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition (optional)
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache (optional)
Reboot and you are done!
Option 2: Coming from another ROM or updating RootBox version with major changes or having strange problems - With Full Wipe
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
DO A FULL WIPE!!! (This won’t effect data of internal or external sd-card)
-- wipe data/ factory reset
-- wipe cahe partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache
-- mount and storage > format data/system/cache
Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- Select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
Reboot and you are done!
Option 3: Coming From Stock ROM (Samsung firmware, no root)
=> Root and Backup
Root your phone and install latest CWM/TWRP Recovery
Make a nandroid backup of your Samsung ROM
=> Now start the process to flash Rom.
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
DO A FULL WIPE!!! (This won’t effect data of internal or external sd-card)
-- wipe data/ factory reset
-- wipe cahe partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache
-- mount and storage > format data/system/cache
Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
Reboot and you are done!
G
GAPPS
• Do I have to flash GAPPS with ROM?
Yes.
• What version of GAPPS should I download?
Currently you need GAPPS 20121212 for RootBox version >3.2 based on Android 4.2.1. If you for any reason want to install RootBox based on Android 4.1.2, i.e. version 3.2 and lower, install GAPPS 20121011. You can check here for latest GAPPS for different Android versions: http://goo.im/gapps.
L
Lockscreen
• How do I get shortcuts on my lockscreen?
RootBox Settings > Shortcuts.
• How do I put Chronus on my lockscreen instead of standard clock?
You have to drag clock on lockscreen. It will allow you to remove it. Then you can add Chronus or any other widget instead.
• How do I make Chronus show my Weather and Calendar on lockscreen?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Minimize Lockscreen Challenge.
• How do I unlock faster when Minimize Lockscreen Challenge is enabled?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Enable longpress to unlock.
N
NavBar
• How do I change NavBar Color?
Rom Control > Navigation Bar > Navigation Bar color.
• How do I enable NavBar transparency?
Rom Control>GeneralUI>Statusbar and navigation bar opacity.
Nightlies
• What is Nightly? Should I flash Nightly or latest Stable version?
There is no major difference. Nightlies are "unofficial" builds that are built almost everyday for everyone to try builds with the latest sources merged to RootBox. For noobs/average user, this is not necessary because they live in a bubble where they feel more comfortable flashing an "official" release than a nightly, but at the end, it all breaks down to just a differentiation of name. So if you don't know what a nightly is, don't flash it and don't bother asking.
S
Statusbar
• How do I enable Status Bar transparency?
Rom Control>GeneralUI>Statusbar and navigation bar opacity.
• What is fast toggle in Status Bar Toggles?
This will allow you to swipe from the right or left side of your statusbar (depending on what you choose) and it will go to your quick settings bypassing any notifications.
This ROM will be unofficial for a few builds to make sure it's solid and then will become official and moved to original development.

I prematurely flashed the older version last night. Guess I should have waited, lol. But I have to say I am glad I didn't. I'm almost scared to flash this official build because this thing ran like a dream all day and my battery life was by far the best I have gotten from an of these 4.2.x roms I have tried. I didn't even get a chance to play with all it's features and customization yet. But I gotta say I am looking forward to flashing this version and playing with it all tonight. This is amazing work on this ROM.
Big thanks to Manel and anyone else who helped bring this thing to our Notes!!!

The kernel you provided is the one inside the rom?
good work bro hope u add more features in future builds.
@officiallysonyrebel: kudos for giving us to taste the KITKAT!
observation on 1 day.
* descent battery
* Browser is slow
* Home screen option is working once set to Nova launcher
* unable to enable Navigation bar
Its very smooth compare previous android version.
am enjoying it.
I came from a GB rom.
Flashed the kernel inside the rom.
Flashed the rom
Flashed the lite gapps
Reboot.
Everything worked well.
All 3 launchers worked.
The camera has led only on video mode.
No force close whatsoever.
I managed to customise almost everything.
The rom runs quite smoothly. After i had all my needs installed it remained about 60Mg of ram free...
The stock browser is quite slow.
I think it is the best JB rom available for now...
There some issue everbody concern about kitkat SMS app doest allow privacy apps.

I was pretty sure I had done it before but I just tried to connect my Ray as a Mass Storage device and I didn't get the screen to turn on sharing. On previous versions of Android I remember there was a setting to switch.
So I searched Google to see if it was something I had done, when I came across this post for another device, and thought it may also help someone else.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37767372&postcount=19
So I checked my Build props and found it was:
persist.sys.usb.config=mtp,adb
changed it to
persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage,adb
and added the line:
android:allowMassStorage="true"
(i'm a bit suspicious of this line)
And then rebooted, and tried plugging in my USB cable, and everything worked as expected. NB I didn't do the other change suggested in the post, nor check our APK if it was already there.
Welcome to TouchSLIM-Kat v1
Touchwiz style in slimkat stable is very good combination
Idea to begin development
My idea was to enjoy Kitkat working fine on my device, but as there is no upgrade from Samsung, I started to work with the most stable rom I found.
Cyanogen Mod 11 does not run well on my device, had very obvious flaws and not interest me, so I started to work with Slimkat for its speed and stability, until I get my first rom for GT-9100 beta.
I hope you enjoy And remember it is BETA - may have some fault - even missing many versions.
I welcome your suggestions in the comments. Thank you and excuse my bad English

FAQ - Q and A - Troubles
Trouble with root accsess? Not works?
To get Root working go to Dev Tools/Developer options/Root access/ selec app & adb (delete date from app whit trouble and restar app)
Problems with media files? It does not recognize music, pictures, videos, etc device?
Apparently this is a known problem kitkat versions. (I'm working on this problem)
The simplest solution is fllashear another zImage kernel format
I recommend Apolo 7.1 (for kitkat ROMS, 4.4.x) Thank you @pedestre

Hi mate.. Which release will be fine?
I'm using branch 10.44 V005
so , as you know , even i tweak the ZIP of each rom before flashing (its why i'm a bad reporter of BUG) , i can say this rom is runing fine here.
before flashing, i integrated GAPPS you provided in ZIP too.
No FC at all for now.
Music effects not available but we have choice to fix it 'if we have viper) in Music APP when title is runing.
i have flashed it over NeatRom 8.0st last from my friend @_Sale_ 'same base) i have restored on my 2nd rom.
@george_shudi , you know , as i'm restoring, sometimes, some 4.1.2 roms, i decided long time ago to use branch 8 to dualboot any roms.
i just add maliV2 libs in 4.4.x rom before flashing it (and some other tweaks) but mali version is the most important thing to change in 4.4.x roms before flashing it with branch 8 of dorimanx kernel runing.
i often work on 2nd rom to test all DEV ROM's releases i can, its more safe. no risk to flash kernel from rom zip you wil use.
actualy i use 8.44v004. no deciep
end of OT
