Specs:
TMobile HTC One
Rooted, S-On
TWRP 6.3.3 (the second latest, I think)
Viper One 4.2 (Android 4.4, Sense 5.5) ROM
ElementalX kernel.
Flashed the latest TMobile radio
I recently just noticed that the switch in my stock camera app for switching between the main and front cameras has disappeared. At first, I didn't know why. So I did a dirty reflash, and still had the problem. Looked it up and read that you have to swipe either up or two the right to switch? Doesn't work at all for me. I don't want to completely wipe and redo my flash for something this simple.
About 3 days of searches has brought me nothing like my problem. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone solved it? Help please. Having same issue in camera dependant apps (Snapchat, etc), go figure. Just noting.

Hi,
We have 2 Vibrant phones. 1 is on Paranoid Android 2.54 (via stock eclair, ICS Passion, Slim Bean 2.9 & 3.0) and works perfectly.
The second one was on ICS Passion for a long time and I have finally got around to (trying LOL) to update it.
Here is where the weirdness begins - Flashed PA 2.54 no problems, flashed and booted up, but no wi-fi, well no wi-fi icon, and it can find a couple of wi-fi networks belonging to my neighbours, but won't find my network, 2 rooms away. The network is obviously all good, I am sending this from my laptop through said network.
Obviously I need an internet connection to get through the phone setup, so I power down, throw the SIM back in and boot up only to find no cell data either.
Skip the google account setup and get to the home screen to check things further and I find:
Calls in/out work, and most things are running, but wi-fi won't co-operate, and nothing in the APN list? Baseband and IMEI all look normal, too.
Try to flash Slim Bean 2.9 as I put the zip on the phone at the same time as a fallback and I get EXACTLY the same thing...
Anyone able to shed any light on what would cause this? Anything else worth trying? I'd like to avoid Odin as it honestly scares me reading all the problems people on here have with it...
At this point I've tried flashing both ROMs a few times with exactly the same results, I also can't go back to the ICS nandroid as the partition setup has changed and the restore doesn't work...
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
Cheers...
I ended up flashing a 4.2 ROM (slim 4.2 beta 1) and it made the problem go away, I'm guessing something in the 4.1 base was broken and not getting overwritten on new installs?
ROM seems pretty sorted for a beta, few minor things not working, but hopefully it gives us a clean upgrade path...
Thanks.
I had the same issue with Slim 4.2 Beta 2. If anyone has a solution other than flashing the modem, please post.
Weird. The phone I was having this problem with now has that ROM on it and is working 100%.
I have a suspicion that flashing a ROM that uses a different kernel is what fixed it for us. I guess it just overwrites/replaces more stuff?
Maybe try hellybean 4.2 and see if it makes a difference, and if it does flash back to slim 4.2 and see if the problem comes back?
I have installed slim and other ROMs but not had this issue. Currently on jellybam

The weird part is that every other Slim Bean has worked great. I'll keep my fingers crossed for beta 3.
***Pre warning***
Turning your phone s-off gives you a chance of bricking your phone. I am not responsible if you try these steps and have problems. Also you will loose all your data as you will be wiping your phone multiple times. Make sure to backup all your data (I used Titanium backup) OK?! :good:
I had done a ton of research trying to fix the GPS on my HTC Jewel and never found a solution that worked. Issue was the GPS would not lock. I was originally running MeanRom, then JellyBam, and finally switched to CM10.1 nightly builds, all with no GPS. Last night though I finally fixed it and wanted to post this for anyone else having this problem.
Prior to last night here is how my phone was setup:
S-On
Hboot 1.19
Radio 1.12.11.0890
CM10.1 20130224
I saw that HTC released a new update, and started digging on how to update when on a custom ROM. I realized that I needed to go s-off which I had tried last year with LazyPanda, but it failed.
Last night I was able to go S-Off following directions from FacePalm: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163013
It was a lot easier than DirtyRacoon and I'm running Win7x64 which DirtyRacoon says is not supported by them.
Once I was s-off I downloaded the latest Radio 1.12.11.1210 from: http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?13192-RADIOS-RECOVERY-FLASHABLE-Jewel-Radio-Collection
I confirmed that the radio upgraded successfully and rebooted. I was then prompted to activate my phone, and when I tried to activate it gave me the error that I was not authorized! With some help from the FacePalm IRC channel I was pointed to having to flash stock to be able to re-activate and then flash again back to your custom ROM.
I downloaded and flashed with Stock_Rooted_Deodexed_2.13.651.1 found here http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?14585-ROM-Kernel-2-13-651-1-Stock-Rooted-Based-on-Latest-OTA-(Odexed-and-Deodexed)
Booted and re-activated, and confirmed GPS working! Then I re-flashed with CM10.1 20130228 and GPS was still working!
I hope this helps others as I have seen a lot of forums with people complaining about the HTC Jewel GPS and saying it's faulty hardware, unfixable, or their fixes are all in app software related.
Thanks!
One thing that I would like to add is if you go stock, do NOT turn off your GPS after you get a lock. I usually have GPS turned off to save battery, but it was the reason why the new ROMs couldn't get a signal.
So to recap
1. Go back to stock
2. Get any old signal even for just a second
3. Immediately flash your new ROM without turning off GPS
4. Enjoy
This indeed works.
I don't like Sense-Based ROMs, so the first thing I did after getting my Jewel was S-Off, and I'm running AOKP. The GPS was driving me crazy, and I couldn't figure out how to get it working.
I updated my radio, flashed a sense-based ROM, locked GPS, then reverted back to AOKP, and it works flawlessly!
This method works!
Is this really a fix? You described how to s-off and go back to a stock Rom. Are you saying that custom roms don't lock fast enough, if so I've experienced this too. I don't see how going back to stock then flashing a custom Rom would fix that.
The way I fixed the problem before was to flash back to sense, clear maps data and flash back to CM10.1. VoilĂ
I use waze

The only reason you have to go back to stock is to re-activate your phone.

So do I, but before I did this waze just searched for GPS signal.
Need some help guys.
I am getting a (unfortunately, photo enhancer has stopped) message when trying to edit photos in the stock gallery app. It was working fine up until a few days ago when I may have inadvertently installed a tweak from OMJ's mod on MeanBean 3.09
I have tried fixing permissions, doing full factory reset and wipes..loading stock roms, etc...all have that issue. I will say that stock rom will at least load the screen up, but only has two (no effect and auto) enhancements. The rest show no small pic of the enhancements or names.
It's really not that big a deal since I use snapseed and other image editors, but sometimes the stock one worked well. Any help is awesome.
Thanks
If it helps:
MeanBean 3.09
S-Off 1.12
TWRP 2.4.4.0
Mean's stock kernel

dude i have been noticing the EXACT same thing for about a month now and no answers. I went the length of completely relocking my phone and that seemed to fix the problem (i was on Sense 5 and the effects worked) but I had to nandroid to backup a few apps+data I forgot. I tried the effects and it started fc again. Fresh install of Sense 5 port and now it doesn't work again. **** is pissing me off so i gave up
I got a replacement EVO for other reasons a month ago and just today this **** started happening again...
Thanks. By some weird circumstance in porting my phone and number over to Verizon prepaid, I accidently factory reset my phone from the boot menu and not the custom recovery. It wiped my internal SD and I proceeded to load stock odexed on to it. Everything works great now.

Hi. I havent posted very often here. I really appreciate what all the devs do here! Anyways. I have a brand new HTC One. Unlocked the bootloader through hassoon's all in one toolkit, rooted it with SuperSU, and flashed the kernel called ElementalX. I used all the default settings while setting up ElementalX. Im not sure if my camera stopped working after I flashed all the kernel and everything else, but I am trying to use the camera now, to check out Zoe and just fool around with it, but I cannot get the camera to load. I went to settings>apps>all>camera> and cleared all the data, all the cache, and force stopped. Tried to connect the camera again, no luck, still says cannot connect to camera. I also reboot the phone and no luck still. I just installed nova launcher free edition, so im going to try and switch back to the Sense UI instead of Nova and see if that helps.... anyone experiencing any similar problems? or know of any ideas to fix this???
Thanks again!

Anyone? Any ideas?
Anyways. I reflashed the Kernel. But this time I opted in for the Camera fix option, which I opted out for last time because the installer says you dont need to do the camera fix if on a stock rom, which % am on a stock rom. Well, after it was all done and flashed again, with the camera fix this time, the camera seems to work. So I will reboot it again (the instructions of the kernel say you need to), and see if it still works.
Rom - I have tried all the CM and paranoid android roms. It was working fine with the CM roms but when I moved to PA from PAC I noticed the problem. Since then I tried to install Snuzzo's carbon rom and the problem persist.
Seems I need to wipe something on my phone that is causing a hick-up. Does anyone know what it could be? Could I just a full wipe from the TWRP recovery under advanced and check everything and do this a few times? Do I need to go back to a RUU and start over?
I am also on the newest radio's and firmware S-OFF and rooted. Thanks in advanced for any help or advice
Little more digging shows that when I reverted to a pre 9/25 build of 4.3 the mms is working again.
Any anyone else exhibiting this issue at all?
Are you Verizon or gsm sim carrier
