[Q] Kit Kat MMS problems - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Anyone else got a MMS problem on OmniROM Android 4.4.2?
I have tried different APN settings but results it "Sending..." message on the Messaging app when i try someone a picture message but they can send me pictures in Messaging
My current APN:
Name: Straght Talk ATT
APN: wap.tracfone
Proxy: Not set
Port: 80
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc-cingular.com
MMS: proxy.mvno.tracfone
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled (only APN in my list)
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: None
MVNO value: Not set
now i have tried Port: 80 or none and MMS: proxy.mvno.tracfone or mms2.tracfone.com or mms3.tracfone.com or att2.tracfone.com but none of them let me send a picture at all. this all worked on CM 10.1.3 and Biftor before but they both was Jelly Bean.
Please help.

In comparison to mine, it looks like your APN's are wrong.
First, the mmsc should be as you have it, but remove the dash (-) and replace it with a full stop (.).
Second, your MMS proxy should be 66.209.11.33
Remember to reboot once you've tried this.

I switched my MMSC and MMS to your settings and still getting "Sending..."
I do have Mr.Cook's modem version I777UCLK3 installed but i do have other modems on my extsd card saved and they are
I777UCLK3_modem.zip
I777UCLL6_modem.zip
I777UCDM8_modem.zip
S959GUDLG1_modem.zip (originally my old stock modem)
but i feel like i should flash a new modem but not sure if one will work.

Alright, here is my setup exactly:
Name: StraightTalk AT&T
APN: att.mvno
MMSC:http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,supl,mms
I'm on UCMD8, but I've used these settings across numerous modems. Try deleting the other apn's you currently have and create a new one using my settings. If you've entered everything properly, selected the new APN and rebooted, your texting should work without trouble.

I'm flashing back my stock modem but i cant use any other APN type but wap.tracfone or my phone wont connect to data at all
also would turning Airplane mode on then off work as well or does it got to be a full reboot or can it be a soft reboot?

I cannot send MMS with Hangouts on Omnirom. Hangouts crashes. Using stock messaging or Handcent works but is not always reliable; it works like 80% of the time.
I haven't figured out the problem. I suspect its a KK problem, not a rom or apn or modem issue.

Well, MMS works with the stock messaging app for me but try the following:
try Play Store for Hangouts app updates
or try update your build to the current build 20140119 from OpenDelta

this did not work for me. I even tried switching the 216 and 261 under both proxies in case it was a typo
My Vibrant doesn't have a "MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0" field... It does have an "Authentication type" field, but the only options are:
1) None
2) PAP
3) CHAP
4) PAP or CHAP
That's it.
Also, I should note that I CAN send/receive MMS when sent to myself; but if I send an MMS to someone else it shows up blank and if they send an MMS to me it says "Downloading" then it fails (without a message) and presents a "Download" button which ends up doing nothing.
My Vibrant is doing the same thing. I upgraded to the official t-mobile leaked 2.2 and since doing so I have not been able to receive any picture MMS. I can send them just fine but when I receive them it just says downloading and it never downloads. I entered in all that info for the APN and what not and set the proxy nothing works any ideas? Help some chick sent me a bunch of nudies last night and I could not receive them hehe must fix
Anyone found an answer to this Q? Im running stock 2.2 .. but guess i need to root and try a ROM
I know this is late..but hope it helps someone in the future
Hey guys, when it just says downloading and never shows the pic...
What i did that worked was to go into settings of your messages area and under the MMS settings turn off "auto-retrieve" - this starts downlaoding the pic as soon as you recieve the message.
Now that its off, there should be a button in the MMS message that says download (you have to do it manually now). When you press it, the pic should pop right up.
Hope this helps, BTW im using a Samsung Vibrant -

How to fix
APN settings MMS fix Vibrant
This is something that's worked on my Vibrant when trying out new ROMs and the MMS isn't working. Download "Contacts Clean-Up" free from the Market. Leave the 1 in Country Code and whatever your area code is in the Area Code field is and click on the last selection +XXXYYYZZZZZZZ then hit Preview and Apply. Let the app do it's thing and then try sending and receiving MMS pictures again. It's worked for me. There's a thread already out there about this same issue and that's where I found this solution. Lemme know if this works for you guys.
Tried both (auto retrieve and contact clean) and it is still not working. I rember when i was on 2.1 and i talked to Tmo for about 2 hours until they asked me to do a wipe and that seem to have "cured" the issue, and then after installing 2.2 same problem. I would hate to wipe and start over. Any good recomendations on backups that will save my pics/music and my apps (plus settings for those aps) that are free?
I'm having the same problem
Did you guys find a solution?
I use to be able to recieve picture texts, but randomly the past few months it just says "downloading" but never does.
I tried switching from auto to manual, same thing.
Any other suggestions?
I'm running on stock rooted/deodexed KB5 2.2
Editing this post, I got it to work!
So what I had to do was what the person above said, switch from auto retrieve to manual, but it still didn't work. Then I switched from wifi to 3G, and it started to work.
I guess you can't download mms on wifi?
Hey bro, try this: go to messaging app, tap the menu key, press settings, scroll down to MMS portion of the settings, uncheck auto-retrieve. Hope this helps!

Change apn to MMS only?

So, my basic issue is that I cannot seem to change my apn to allow for mms only as opposed to having the internet and mms. It is for a friend on T-Mobile and I've tried just changing the apn type to MMS (I think the capitalization plays a part?) and that did not work. It still doesn't allow for mms to be sent in the stock messenger. Tried this on both donut and cm7.1. Anyone with some experience on this?
Make a new APN
Code:
Name: mms
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: mms
Everything else <Not set>

AT&T APN/MMS Settings in ICS ROMs?

Using the gingerbread settings (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109983) on an unlocked i9100 w/ 4G data plan and old ROM (Checkrom), i had no problems with MMS Send and Receive.
Now, i'm on ICS using Wanamlite 9.6 and cannot send/receive MMS.
I added APN (w/ "phone") for my HSPA+ Connection as always.
I edited the default APN (wap.cingular) to only be APN Type: mms
What are folks using for ICS Sammy-based ROMs using AT&T's network??
Check your MMS port in your APN. Should be 80.

definitely at 80...
in order to download or send MMS's, i have to go to the APN settings and revert back to the wap.cingular APN (default) vs. the "phone" APN (manually added to take advantage of the backhaul network).

I'm on AT&T in the U.S., using WanamLite ICS 9.5, and here are my APN settings that work properly with MMS. There are 2 APNs; one for MMS and one "Phone" APN to get the HSPA+ speeds.
APN #1
Name: MMS
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com

MCC: (don't change this number)
MNC: (don't change this number)
APN type: mms,supl
APN protocol: IPv4
APN protocol (if applicable): IPv4
everything else: <Not set>
APN #2
Name: MEdia Net
APN: Phone
MMS protocol (if applicable): WAP 2.0
MCC: (don't change this number)
MNC: (don't change this number)
APN type: default,admin,hipri
APN protocol (if applicable): IPv4
everything else: <Not set>
edit: Once both APNs are entered, you need to select the MediaNet/Phone APN (the little radio button on the right side).

Ah. What you can do is have the "phone" APN set as internet only, then create a wap.cingular APN with the MMS server and other settings, and set it as mms only. That should work.
EDIT: in other words, what henrybravo said. Looks like we were posting at the same time.
This finally worked...
2 APNs:
Name: ATT PHONE
APN: phone
everything else default
APN Type: default
Name: ATT
APN: wap.cinguar
USER NAME: [email protected]
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
APN type: default,supl,mms

You may need to change APN type on the wap.cingular one to only be mms and add supl to the phone one. Then make sure the phone one is selected.
EDIT: and add password CINGULAR1 and MMS port 80 to the wap.cingular one as well.

I'm on the Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T in the States, running the new ParanoidAndroid ICS, and initially MMS didn't work. These APNs fixed the problem perfectly for me. Sending and receiving flawlessly.

APN Settings

Can someone on stock post a screenshot of their settings? MMS got broken again (as seems to happen with every damn android phone I get...) and the usual settings I used to fix it in the past don't seem to work with this phone for some reason.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I still get just a toast saying "Error connecting to MMS provider"
I wouldn't care as much if it weren't for the fact that group texts route through MMS as well.
Anyone happen to know of a fix? Really don't want to take it back to AT&T over this... (especially since I've gone and rooted/installed twrp and a ROM)
Custom rom....then id ask the dev whats going on ... shouldnt be getting those errors if apns are set correctly...

are the stock apn's
download 8sms and manually override sms settings see if it works in that client (you can put your own APN settings in it)
Tested some more, definitely an issue with the ROM. Flashing Skyfall fixed it anyway.
Glad you got it sorted....

Delete Locked APN

I am trying to remove the default APN that came with my AT&T M9. It has the wrong settings according to the AT&T tech support, so we created a new one that I am using. But the default one is has a locked icon, and cannot be deleted.
I tried using the suggestion from this thread but the APN Backup app won't run, crashes on startup.
