Hey people
New Ultra buyer and been tinkering with it for the past couple of days and for some reason no matter what i try podcasts don't seem to want to work i've tried podkicker pro and podcast addict and both of these won't stream podcasts and wont play them when downloaded either any idea's why this is?
another problem i've had is with music unlimited (my bootloader is unlocked so talking about the app from Gplay) the sound is really really distorted and the back of the phone vibrates like crazy! this only happens with this app tho which is reallt strange! spotify is fine and listening to music on youtube is fine swell
any ideas/help greatly appreciated

I can consistently make the stock Music app crash. I just go and select a song or album from the library (usually by Artist), which will cause it to start playing music. Then I go and select another song and it will crash with the message the music player "has stopped unexpectedly" etc. etc. "Force Close". If it doesn't crash immediately, I just try playing another song. Switching songs twice does it every time.
I have almost 7.5GB of music, which I guess is a lot, but shouldn't cause crashes. I sync using Winamp on my desktop, though I think I also had the issue synching with other applications. Other apps work mostly fine. Winamp rarely crashes. MixZing and DoubleTwist have never crashed.
I thought it was the phone, so I took it back to the Sprint store. The Sprint guy remarked how hot my phone was (didn't seem out of the ordinary to me) and gave me a brand new phone. My music is on my 16GB SD card, so I tried it out 5 minutes after swapping to the new phone and it still crashes (though about all my other, unrelated phone problems have been fixed).
I've uploaded a video of this current phone crashing to YouTube, but I don't have enough posts to link to an outside URL.
Anyone else having this issue? Not like I need to use the stock player, but I'm just curious if this is only me.
I'm also having that problem. Thought it was just me, but I guess not. I have no idea how to fix it.

Not just you guys. I've been able to re-create that same crash, and have since I got the phone. It's not my music collection, as the exact same collection on the exact same SD card plays perfectly on the stock HTC Playler on my Evo 4G. It's the newer HTC Music app, it's buggy. I've posted about this in the 'current bugs' thread, and also over at Android Forums. Some other people also get the problem. Hopefully HTC will address it. I think a lot of other users don't notice this is because they use a 3rd party music player, such as google music beta, or poweramp or something like that. I like the stock player though, because of the lockscreen music widget
Thank god. Thought I was taking crazy pills.
Are you guys getting this while headphones plugged in? I had this issue intermittently, grabbed an app on the market called headset blocker widget, haven't had the issue since. I have not had the issue on speaker. ymmv

Nope, I've had this issue without headphones. Headphones will only cause the player to skip and pause, and I got Headset Blocker for that.
Haven't really use it so no idea or much info but there is a nice app in the market is call power AMP and is great player, you can download a free version or buy the full one for 5$ really good and great developer to, btw it has EQ options integrated and it works great
If you don't have an Evo3d well you don't have an Evo3d
My HTC Music Player is also buggy. Although, instead of force closing it just shuts down and I have to reboot. I am on my second 3VO handset, but I had the exact same probem with my first one.
I just started using RealPlayer Beta, works well...
I've been having all sorts of issues with the stock app as well, crashing and music skipping. Glad I read this thread though. Appreciate being pointed to the fix to my songs skipping. thanks.
I recently bought a Sony Xperia U
It works perfect i love it however when it comes to music its a disaster i tried everything factor release, remove sim , battery , update software.. For some reason when i play my music on music player or any other media player for example MX player or Double twist after 3 minutes exactly of sound music it turns off like it crashes for few minutes it goes black and then it turns on and when it does i cant enter those media applications because they crash immediately..
I tried many experiments like trying with different songs.. different kbs.. but nothing seems to work.. however I tried to see if the issue is the music and its not... i played videos on youtube.... and even my own videos i even turned the radio on and it lasts how much you want it never switched off... This issue wasn't occuring on day 1 after day 1 it happened..
What can i do please help because i just bought it and i would love to find the issue before sending it again to the seller since i bought it from internet.. How can i hear my music on my player? Also whats the best way to transfer music from pc to mobille.. do i just put the music on the xperia u? because their isn't any music folder..
Sometime it crashes when i enter play store also or try to change my live wallpaper..
Thanks alot please reply
you could make a new folder called music and then drag-and-drop it with windows explorer. That is what I did with my xperia s.
I think there is something really wrong with your phone, it shouldn't act like that when playing music. Do you have the same result with other tasks? like playing video's?
I think that you should discuss it with the reseller.

Yea videos work i tried different players they work for a couple of minutes like 5-6 minutes (2 songs) then on the 3rd it auto switch off and each time i try enter that player it says activity is crashed or something like that and it tells me to force it down.. now this is definitely not normal and only when i put music it says this..
Please help if anyone had anything similar or knows anything..
So i have stuck it out with google music. I have close to 7000 songs uploaded.
The one thing that kills me is shuffle on a playlist. It seems i keep getting the same songs playing and it never really shuffles through them all. After many google searches i see others having the same issue. Nothing recent though. Anyone else have this issue or know of google is aware?
Is it the player or the service? I dont know of any other cloud service like this except for the upcoming xbox music.
This shuffle thing is really annoying.

If Google Music gives some problems you can install a different player like Walkman works much better than the system app
I use the XPeria S Music Playe with Beats audio. It does the job
Do all of these work with the streaming of google music?
UK T-MOBILE branded Galaxy S II running official ICS rom
I've started to get into podcasts for an hour and a half commute every day and really enjoy the idea of radio on demand.
I have a number of shows I subscribe to using Podkicker, which I have found to be a great app as it will search for, download and queue new podcasts on starting the app.
But I have been having trouble with 1 podcast. The address is http://feeds.feedburner.com/tmfootballuk
The feed is a UK based American football show with new shows uploaded every Tuesday.
The show is recorded in stereo (I have confirmed this with the show producers via twitter). When the stream starts and the opening backing track plays audio is in stereo, but the audio is crackly. When the main body of the show starts with presenters voices only I can only hear the audio from the left channel. Any pre-recorded backing tracks through the rest of the show are again in stereo, but crackly and distorted.
Now here's the strange bit. It ONLY happens on my S II. And it ONLY happens to THIS stream. I have other podcasts I subscribe to and no others do it. Another did start off the same way weeks ago but no longer is affected by this.
A quick bullet list
.Only this one stream is affected
.Its only affected on my S II
.I have tried it on a HTC CHACHA and a T-mobile Vivacity and both had no problems with the audio
.I have tried it on a Win 7 pc and the audio is fine.
.I have tried a hard reset of the phone.
.I have tried downloading via browser and via Podicker both before and after the hard reset but there is no difference to the audio, I still get the same problem on my phone.
.I have used Podkicker to both download the podcast and stream it directly from source, no difference
Could it be the phone?
Music, FM Radio, Internet Radio, YouTube, Sky TV all sound fine
Could it be the headphones?
I have tried 6 sets all with the same result, and all other audio sounds fine
Could it be the Podkicker app?
All other podcasts sound fine
Could it be the stream?
The stream is fine on other devices
Could it be the source?
Ive downloaded other podcasts from feedburner and they were fine.
The other podcasts I listen to are
.Americarnage (this one suffered the same fault but no longer does)
.BBC R2 Chris Evans Breakfast Show
.BBC R2 Graham Norton
.BBC R2 Simon Mayo Confessions
.NFLUK Inside The Huddle
.NFL Rants and Raves
.Rich Eisen
.Sports Illustrated Peter King
I am wondering if anyone can help me out by trying the podcast on their II, the podcast is either 23 or 33 meg in case you are thinking of downloading over 3g, and let me know if anyone experiences the same problem, or if anyone can thing of a possible cause to the problem and a possible solution.
Cheers

I have now had this tested on a friends S II. He streamed it direct to the stock Android sound player app, and the audio had exactly the same fault.
Could really do with some help on this.
Hi all
wonder if anybody could help me, i just recently upgraded to a samsung galaxy s6 edge and iv put all my music onto the google play music app. Now i went out the other day and played music on my headphones whilst walking to work. the music was perfect no problem. anyway later that same day i played music through the speaker and it started fine but then after a few seconds just started to stutter/distort. when it did that i was streaming the music over 4G via the music app. so i tried a youtube video. same again it started fine then few seconds after started to stutter.
when im outside if i shake the phone whilst playing music it causies it to stutter as well, but it seems to play fine on wifi via headphones and speaker -
am i guessing its a 4g problem or isit a speaker problem.
Yeah, I'm having the same issue...
