[Q] HTC Desire X Dual Sim - Bootloader unlock - HTC Desire X

Hey everybody!
I've search a lot of threads but I can't find the information that I am looking for but I'm trying to unlock my bootloader through the HTCDev method, it all went great but I needed to update through a so called Rom Update Utility.
First of all, I'm not familiar with RUU's and my knowledge of rooting is only a simple Desire S. Second, I know my CID is HTC_Dutch (HTC__E11), and I can't find the RUU for that at HTCDev, I first tried HTC_EU because I didn't know my CID yet. I'm not sure what the do at this very moment.
The info I know:
PROTODUG PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.15.0002
RADIO-10.09.45D.25
Additional info:
Name: HTC Desire X dual sim
Software: 2.28.401.1
In the case anyone needs more information, please tell me what and if it's advanced to get that information please explain how to get my hands on it.
Thnx for reading, hope someone can help me out.

I've look into that thread before but it doesn't cover my RUU problem, I first need to unlock my bootloader as listed in that thread for that I need to upgrade. If been trying to upgrade it with RUU HTC_EU (RUU gave me version 2.35.0.0), but I came upon an error with something about the wrong device ID with the description that I needed an other RUU.

Solved!

Apparently I missed the sentence "choose the option: All other devices", I thought it would be covered under the Desire* option at HTCDev. My apologies and thanks for the help!

There is a thanks button for that
There aren't any RUU's for the Dual sim DX and don't try to install the single sim version. Data will not work anymore

[Q]What kind of system I am using?

Hi all,
I got a HTC Flyer P512.
It is running a Eng build Honeycomb rom I guess.
Since it is not so stable and not localized to my place, I would like to flash it with a stock rom image.
But before that, I would like to know more about that since I am not not so familiar with that.
1. I see that my flyer is Eng S-Off, will it turn to Ship S-ON if I flash a stock rom for that?
2. If I make a full backup for that? Can all the things be able to restore back (include Eng S-OFF and rooted Eng build system) by that, and how?
Thanks for that.
I have little experience on handling Xoom but HBoot and RUU in flyer is new to me.
Start here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362639
and do some reading. Information is available for all your questions.
We didn't make a YouTube video because we are all so ugly the cameras cracked.
Thanks for your quick response.
I read the thread before.
According to this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18508220&postcount=2
I found that my cidnum is 11111111
Which is not mentioned. However after I do some research, I found that it is a superCID.
Does it mean that My machine is S-OFF in permanently and can be able to flash any rom I want, and such kind of cid can not be changed by software in anyway?
Thanks!
OK, that's a new one to me. I recommend you contact Globaltron on the forum here and ask him. He's the expert on models, boot, etc.
That appears to be a US model, so you would have to flash a US RUU to return to stock if that is the case. Not sure what the effect of having Eng S-OFF is . If you do successfully flash a stock RUU it will return you to S-ON, locked. Then you have to go through the process to obtain S-OFF again
Thanks again!
My Flyer is got from Google ADL last year.
It is running an eng build Android 3.2 with testkey.
Therefore I am wondering if that is a engineering machine without any flashing limitation.
Thank you again.

If you saw my post on general subforum, you may noticed we have same flyer model. Which from contacting with Globaltron is Prerelease Engineering Model of Htc Flyer.
I also get the cid: 11111111 from my device.
I'm trying to install a stock wwe rom now and see what will happen.
Thanks or your reply.
I use RUU to updae my flyer to HK wifi room.
It works!
It turns from ENG S-OFF to SHIP S-OFF.
Cid remains 11111111
That is expected, you had ENG not SHIP s-off. Run revolutionary to get S-OFF again.

[Q] HTC EVO 3D - Trouble Unlocking, Request for information

Hello from Canada! This is my first post here, although I've been on this site or other sites like it trying to find out how to fix my problem:
I have my old Rogers GSM HTC EVO 3D, running HBOOT 1.53.0007 (S-ON) and Android ICS 4.0, and I'm trying to give it to my friend who's a little short on cash.
Because he's not on Rogers like I am, I need to unlock it so that it works with his carrier. I've spent roughly 4 hours looking up ways to unlock this thing, including S-OFF, Rooting, HTC Unlocking and more, and by now the details are starting to bunch up and get confusing.
I'm not inept, just confused :silly: I'm a desktop/server software engineer and I have both a Linux machine and a Windows desktop at my disposal - that being said, what would I need to do to get this phone unlocked? Would you be willing to list out a few steps, hints or tips to get this rolling? I'd be really greatful.
I don't need anything fancy in the end, just a working unlocked phone.
If have a few other questions too, if you don't mind explaining for me:
How is GSM unlocking related to rooting, S-OFF, and other stuff?
Is a specific version of android tied to HBOOT? As in, can I keep ICS and still run HBOOT 1.49?

If I understand you correctly, your phone is working fine and you need to unlock SIM? If that's the case you don't need to unlock your bootloader, just go to HTCdev site and find SIM unlock tool.
So, answer to your aditional questions is
1. No, you dont need s-off or bootloader unlock
2.H-boot is tied to a specific Androud version but 1.49.xxx h-boot works with all Android versions

s-off

Hi
I am new to the forums and read the forum post, i needed to in devs for this. However since I cannot actually post there and get some help until i get 10 posts, I thought I might post here. I am completely lost in these forums hehe
Anyway to the point.
I have a European HTC One S (S4) sim is unlocked, bootloader unlocked and rooted phone. It shows on bootloader screen tampered and unlocked.
However my hboot is 1.15.0000
VLE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
The reason I wanted to get s-off is so i can download and install the latest 4.2.2 sense 5 update, but apparently cannot with s-on? I actually thought it didn't matter if it was on or off, most roms can be flashed regardless as long as bootloader and is rooted?
Basically, I need some advice / help for a newbie to allow me to achieve s-off with all the above done (i guess the chance for bricking is really small compared to when rooting?). I really do not want to brick my phone, and I have no idea about supercid or whether its even needed on the european models, since there does appear to be differences in the software.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give to me
Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] Official Update for LOCKED Bootloader with S-OFF and SuperCID

Hello.
I have purchased a new HOX+ International Version from eBay. The carrier is unlocked to work with Indian GSM operators, and the bootloader is LOCKED with S-OFF and SuperCID. When I checked for Software Updates, it said There are no updates available for your phone.
I have gone through this thread. However, I couldn't find any information that would help me.
I am looking for the Official Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 OTA update. How do I get this?
If that is not possible, can I flash the firmware from this thread? From what I understand, the firmware belongs to HOX (Not Plus) T-Mobile Germany. Will this work on my HOX+ like the official update? Can I flash it as per the steps mentioned in that thread or do I have to perform any addition steps?
I have seen that there is a custom ROM by InsertCoin based on Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 for the HOX+ . But I really want the Official version. Is there any hope for me?
Also, will changing the ROM, Rooting/Unrooting the Phone, Locking/Unlocking the Bootloader in any way affect my Unlocked Carrier mode?
Sorry for too many questions in one post.
The Bootloader screen displays the following information:
*** LOCKED ***
EVITARE_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-11111111
HBOOT-1.32.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-SSD:1.09.55.17
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode : disabled
HW Secure boot: enabled
MODEM TYPE: MDM9215M
Oct 20 2012, 13:45:56
I have attached screenshots of Software Information from the About section in Settings.
Please help.
Nobody?
Okay, I'll try and summarize my problem.
1. Is it possible to somehow get the OTA Update for Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 on my HOX+ with a LOCKED bootloader, S-OFF and SuperCID? If not, can I safely flash the firmware from this thread which is for the HOX (not Plus).
2. Will changing the ROM, Rooting/Unrooting the Phone, Locking/Unlocking the Bootloader in any way affect my Unlocked Carrier mode?
Please help. :fingers-crossed:
You can relock bootloader with toolkit and flash any RUU of HOX+ you want (since you have super CID and S-OFF ), then you can receive OTA updates

I think you are quite lucky to get the S-OFF device.
Anyways, first of all, what you got is not International device (ENRC2B_U), but AT&T version of One X+.(EVITARE_UL)
As you said, you said you see such information is on the bootloader;

Whoa! I was shocked to learn that! I always thought that the AT&T phones do not have the HTC branding at the top-center of the display.
Anyway, I do not mind waiting for the update. But do I have to do some changes to my bootloader or anything to be able to get the OTA? Or is the phone fine as it is, with SuperCID and S-OFF? (It's also carrier unlocked, btw.)

Thinking of my experience on S-OFF htc phones, an OTA file could be flashed through fastboot, or stock recovery, but I am not sure you can receive the file through the air, I mean through the Internet because of that SuperCID.

Maybe I'm gonna go ahead and flash an OTA file. I'm hoping that the OTA files for HOX that are uploaded by some kind developers work well with my HOX+ too.
Thanks.

Like I said before, you should not and cannot flash Sense 5 4.2.2 rom of International, because the two models are so much different in terms of hardware such as baseband modem and sound chip.

No no, what I meant was I'd try to flash the AT&T HTC One X (not Plus, the HTC Evita) OTA when it's available. There isn't much stuff around for the "Plus" phones (HTC Evitare UL), I checked. There's no discussion forum here in XDA-D either.
But now I realize, even that shouldn't be possible. I'm just stuck. :crying::crying:
If you flash an OTA update from the HOX it will probably fail. On the small chance it does install, you will have a very expensive brick.....

OK, to tell the truth, both phones are much different than that between One X+ International and One X+ AT&T.
To summarize;
1. One X (endeavor_u) : Tegra 3, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage
2. One X AT&T (evita_ul) : Snapdragon S4, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage
3. One X+ International (ENRC2B_U) : Tegra 3 AP37, 1GB RAM, 64GB storage
4. One X+ AT&T (EVITARE_UL) : Tegra 3 AP37, 1GB RAM, 32/64GB storage, however, MDM9615 modem chip, and other sound chip is inside, which is different from One X+ International.
Therefore, roms from both One X AT&T, and One X+ International variant are not suitable for your phone. I'm sorry.

It seems that you dont have an international version of the phone (enrc2b) , what you have got is the North American version of the phone (EVITARE) . So I am not sure if you will get the update in India or not . More over never flash HOX (Roms, kernels , etc etc ) anything on your phone since that will end up bricking your device , even you should not flash the any thing from the international version of the phone. Buddy the HOX+ (int) and HOX+(At&T) are two completely different device internally .
Try to install custom ROMS supported for At&T, more over Since you have S-OFF rooting and Flashing are easy for you , you dont even need to get the phone unlocked to obtain root or flash ROMs ..

Guys if you have S-OFF you dont need to unlock the bootloader to flash CUSTOM RECOVERY , ROOTING , OR FLASHING ROMS,
S-OFF means Security OFF so do what ever you feel like with this phone , just dont get it bricked by flashing something that was meant for some other device.

Well I have and I have the enrc2b version, how ever flashing a custom rom wont be a problem on the At&t also as long as the rom is correct.
One more observation , now a days the roms are not comming with the boot.img flashing script in it , so you have to flash it it manually using FASTBOOT else you can end up getting into a bootloop.

No you cannot install the enrc2b version of the rom or recovery (they might brick your device, an expensive brick that is), use ROMS and Recovery for the At&t or the Telus version of the mobile

Warning : NEVER INSTALL ANY THING THAT IS MEANT FOR THE enrc2b (International) Version of HOX+

HTC One M8 - T-Mobile RUU

Hi,
This may have been asked before, but several different things on how to do it, i'd rather do the safest as I do not need anything special.
Basically i'm running a network unlocked HTC One M8 and I would like to install the T-Mobile US version of Android to enable Wi-Fi Calling for my visit to USA, this will be it's sole purpose to use over there.
It's running the latest Android/Sense update for the UK, so this could be part of my issue.
I tried running the RUU, on the installer I was getting a small ARUWizard dialog saying "click here to next dialog" meaning i'm unable to select the options on the installer thus once getting to end will say complete and loads more dialogs after.
under bootloader the information is as follows:
*** Software Status: Official ***
*** LOCKED ***
M8_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
Radio-1.29.214500021.12G
OpenDSP-v51.2.2-00593-M8974-FO.1015
OS-6.12.401.4
eMMC-boot 2048MB

I'm a little out of all this, last time i done any flashing of different rom's, was on the Dell Streak 5, installed the korean network version to get a newer android as there wasn't one release for the UK.
Hope someone can help.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, it's currently unlocked as I was trying to openbands for 4g/LTE, wouldn't I still need to do this, also change the CID since there isn't one set as it's unlocked?
