No Connection to Play Store - HTC Rezound

I got a replacement phone and had this issue after rooting/s-off. On Sense ROM's no problems. On AOSP/AOKP ROM's I get no connection to Play Store. So I ran REV3NT3CH's downgrade/upgrade guide and all went well. Flashed TWRP 2.6.3.0 and wiped all but micro sd manually 3x. Flashed Tachyon 1.2....same problem. Google sync works but no connection to Play Store. Restored Sundream ROM and it works. I'm at a total loss. Makes no sense. Any help would be appreciated.

Ummm... This ones tricky...how many devices do you have (or Google THINKS you have active) associated with your Google login? There is a limit of 10... Different ROMs in the same device can be seen as different devices in some cases.
Also, have you tried making a new Google account and trying that?

Thanks man. Just getting ready to try that. Fingers crossed

Didn't work. I even added a new account and my phone won't register with google. But I do have a new gmail account that works. And the calendar and contacts sync. Play store refuses to see my phone. I'm so confused.

So just to double check, you did a factory reset, or at the very least cleared data on the Play Store app, and removed your existing Google account from the phone, then started the Play Store and nothing?
Are you restoring data via TiBu or something similar when you install these ROMs, or does it do this on a clean install?
Did you go to the Play Store on a PC and click on the Settings Cog icon in the upper right hand corner, select Settings from the drop-down, and see how many devices you have associated with your account?

Clean install, nothing restored or downloaded, cleared old devices, full manual wipe 3x, removed old Google acct and added new. Same issue. But it doesn't matter now cause I did a simple restart this morning, started to boot up, shut down.....dead. Won't power on normally or to bootloader, no charge light. Nothing. Nada. Somehow I convinced Verizon to send a replacement. Hope this one goes better! Thanks for all your help

Think this was all a phone issue. Mods please delete thread.

Wait... What did you mean "phone issue"? What did you determine the issue and fix was?
Even if this something extremely stupid, the solution might help someone else, please share.

I assume so since the day after all this the phone went dead. Can't say for sure but I got my new replacement from Verizon yesterday and did the exact same rooting and s-off and I have no issues. But....the only thing I did differently was flashed Tachyon1.2 instead of EclipticRez v9 for rumrunner s-off. Could have been the issue I suppose but I know rumrunner was confirmed working with EclipticRez and I haven't seen anyone else with the same issue. Truly strange tho

[Q] Tune In Radio - Installed, But not Installed

Tune In Radio is not listed in my app folder, but it does show up in Settings/Apps.
When I open up Google Play, it shows up as installed under My Apps. I was able to LAUNCH it from there, but other than that, there is no other way.
I got the bright idea to un-install it using Settings/Apps. Unfortunately, although it is now gone from Settings/Apps, Google Play still says it's INSTALLED! But the "Open" button is now gone, so now not only is it not installed, I can't even download it!!!
Any ideas on how to get it downloaded, and why it didn't show up in my app drawer in the first place?
If I'm thinkin right, tune-in will show up in the HTC music app....not as a stand alone app in the app drawer.

Well, I hosed that. It never occurred to me to look there. Since I uninstalled it, I can no longer reinstall it from the Play store. I tried to reinstall using Titanium Backup, but although the install reportedly went ok, it still does not show up!
I even tried to re download using HTC's download app, but all that does is redirect you to the Play store I'm not resetting the phone just to get it back either!

This morning I got the idea to go to HTC's support web site and see if I could email them about this. Under "Select your phone model", the EVO LTE isn't even listed!
They screwed up the launch of this phone, screwed up Google Wallet, and apparently don't even support the thing!
I ran into this as well... Hope it can help:

Thanks! I was able to download it from Amazon. I didn't think to try that because I got so frustrated.

this also happen to me a few times and clearing cache and framework didn't fix it.
I resolved this by removing TB (probably already removed and you are trying to install back in). I then use RootExplorer to manually pushed the TB apk in system/app. Reboot phone. Once installed, go to G Play and update to newest version if you don't have it already.
Had to do another full wipe after just doing one this morning!

That works temporarily, when the market auto update itself, it comes right back. Trust me, I tried
The guy above's post reminds me of a fix, wipe the cache of the apps, market, etc. Then log out of your google account, reboot, wipe them again then sign in back into your gmail account, should fix it.
He's right just remove your google account and add it again it should fix. Had this happen to me 2 days ago.

Wakelock woes

Alright, I've tried several remedies none have yet to fix my problem.
First off, does anyone else have a huge Wakelock with gtalk.async.androidendpoint? I'm finding this info out using better battery stats.
Here's my info :
Hboot 2.27 (global Leak)
S off
Rom newts one xxx 6.0.2 (happens on all roms)
Ok, so to rule out the obvious, I've tried freezing gtalk, then stopping Google locating services.
I've also tried this with and without restoring apps/data after flashing a rom.
When doing so, I always do a full wipe.
I've read up on it, some people said it had to do with the proxy on apn settings, so I made a new apn with the same info, data came in, but didn't fix my Wakelock.
Is this a known problem? I see many posts in other forums about it, but it seems its not happening to everyone.
Any help would be appreciated

There seems to be a few people with this wakelock on the internet and no real consensus on what the cause or fix is.
What I can tell you however is my girlfriend's Nexus 4 had the same wakelock issue and I realised it was because her work's Wifi network's network filter was stopping Google services from successfully syncing and it was just trying again and again and again causing the battery to drain. I told her to stop using that wifi network and the next day I checked and the gtalk.async wakelock was gone.

Hmm that might be it, I am using wifi provided by the college (I live on campus) its super fast, but I know some ports are blocked because Google Now won't work on it.
However, I tried disabling all syncing services and no dice. It's like Google just keeps trying even when it's not supposed to sync

can you freeze google services apk and see if that helps. if gtalk is blocked from making a connection then it could be the wake lock retrying to many times.

yep, so the service in google framework is calling out to make sure gtalk is connected. when your school block the connection it puts a pause on it and will request again when any type of connection change is detected. i cant remember but have you tried signing out of gtalk when not using it?

I believe the GTALK_ASYNC process handles a lot more than just GTALK, a lot of Google Services are reliant on it so freezing it will cause a lot of collateral damage to Google apps and other apps that leverage services like C2DM.

it syncs for all gapps. what i was trying to do is see if you can just get that part of the sync portion off.
OP can you try this. navigate to system/apps and rename the gtalk apk to .bak reboot the phone to recovery, wipe dalvik and reboot. let it boot like normal and see if you have the wake lock without having to freeze googles framework.
this should stop the phone from ever knowing gtalk was installed and remove the wake lock problem.

However, each day since then, I will wake ti a new app l on my phone. Ami idea what this is from? I checked the master key exploit and got nothing.
UPDATE: the same thing has been happening to older phones off mine, yet my nexus 7 seems unaffected,l. Hopefully that rules or my Google account being the issue

I once sold a device and forgot to wipe out my google account. When they deleted my contracts from the device they deleted out of google and all the devices that we on it. (Nice that google has a restore feature). I could see under my apps on all the devices what apps the person was downloading. They didnt download to my handset but i could see them in the history and still can.
Not sure if there is an option within google play (for autosync maybe?), but if you sold a device recently, maybe all the apps that they download are pushed to all the other devices on the same google account? <---- This would be my best bet. Especially if it has been happening with multiple devices across your account.
maybe someone has your google info and is adding them on the web? (Would be very funny if so)

Problem connecting to Google

My problem started yesterday, Play Store won't load anything just times out, maps won't load, can't even do a Google search, any other search engine such as Yahoo works. YouTube and Gmail work as well. It shows I am also connected with lte. I was on Omni ROM so I decided to Odin to stock. While on stock I checked to see if I could preform a google search and I could. Proceeded to load up an older version of Omni and it worked until I signed into my Google account. No matter if it is PAC ROM or Omni after I sign in, everything mentioned above stops working again.
Any suggestions?
Edit: Forgot to mention when I'm on WiFi everything works, even while signed into my Google account. Its only when connected to to Verizon network that the problem happens. I have already called Verizon and they said no problems in my area.

So far all AOSP Roms. I have tried omni, PAC, and cm11. Ran out of time last night so I will try Touchwiz tonight.
Edit: Another update. Still haven't been able to test out Touchwiz roms, but I have found that when I try to do speed test using either speedtest.net app or a no plugin based test in a browser upload test just sits there and does nothing. Download speeds are fine though. And yet I'm on mobile data right now and can obviously I can send out request to servers to get data. And send out data to update my post here.

Finally was able to try Touch wiz roms. They seem to continue to work. Looks like I will be stuck on Touchwiz. I even tried to flash another aosp after running Touchwiz for a bit and problem came back.
Just a bit of an update. After a month of running Alliance rom 26 I decided to give aosp rom another go, hate touchwiz. Now I didn't do anything different than I used to, but I'm happily on Omni rom again and everything is working. Still don't really know what the deal was. At one point during this past month my desktop computer stopped working with Google services just like my phone did, but I was able to restore it by flushing the dns cache.
