Eh I wish I could, bought it from someone (vibrant t959 is not available in stores here in Canada) so it’s either fix it or lose it

Thanks for trying but I tried restoring IMEI (nv_data.bin) technique from the link but it does not help, my vibrant does not want to repair those files automatically, and when I delete efs folder contents it restores nv_data but the file is empty. Also it's strange that going back to stock with odin does not wipe data... I thought it should
Had to go to "specialist" to fix it... He did it ... my imei is back (but nv.data.bin still empty ). It seams that my sim card was corrupted also... eh at leas it was fixable, but how .. no idea.
Hello, I have a problem with my Razr randomly shutdowns. I have an official RSD Retail Brazilian ICS installed. The device is from Rogers Canada but used in Europe. I am the second user, bought it already used. I do not have warranty, if so, I would send it to be repaired but it is not possible.
What have I tried: Wipe the whole device. Wiping the cache. Installed the ICS over the RSD and did not installed any apps but the shutdowns still occured. Pushed the sim card in to the slot, so it does not stick out. I love this device. It is gorgeous, but the shutdowns are really annoying. Please, if you have any advice it is welcomed. Thank you in advance. Bye.
Shutdown noticed.
Yesterday I have noticed, when the device is shutting down, it makes a sound as if the battery was empty (actually it was not, it was 3/4 full), the led flashes red and the phone shutdowns. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you. Bye.
I'd like to think that there is infact a problem with your battery. You can either have it serviced or replace the battery yourself
Thanks for advice.

I consider this possibility, do not have too many options left. Thank you for your advice. Have a nice day. Bye.
Once again I tried to reinstall the firmware, stopped some apps, like SMART actions, sport active and hoped the device would not shutdown, the phone lasted 2 days and then sometimes during this night it shutdown. It looks like I have ran out of options. If I buy a new battery, will the shutdowns stop? Thanks for any reply. Bye.
Shutdown solved.
Just for the record I figure out what the problem with my random shutdown was. The problem was within the Micro sd card. I noticed that some of my files were missing, or had 0 kb on the card, so I tried to use my device without the card and the problem vanished, no reboots in few days. So I reformated the micro sd card and now it is Ok. If you have problem with random shutdowns, try the mentioned above, before you buy a new battery.
- wipe the cache
- install the ICS over the RSD
- after flash, try not to install any apps, to see if some of the apps does not inflict the shutdown
- push the sim card in to the slot, so it does not stick out.
- try the device without using the micro sd, or reformat the sd card
If you do not have warranty, consider buying a new battery or discuss with an expert what can cause this problem.
If the above mentioned does not help and your device is still under warranty, send it to be repaired.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day. Bye.

Shutdowns are back!
Hello everyone,
I thought that formating the sd solved my problem with the random shutdowns. I was wrong, they appeared again. I also tried a different micro sd card, to see, if it was not problem with my card. I realized that the problem was not in the card, but it is in the device it self. Also, I bought a new battery, installed it and thought the problem is gone, but again I was wrong and the shutdonws appeared. I am clueless where the problem might be. If anyone knows, how to solve this, be free to write. Thanks in advance. Have a nice evening. Bye.

Hello,
I'm having the same problem as you. Almost emediate after my phone is restarted it restarts again.
The last couple of days I've tried many options,
installed safestrap, installed a new ROM with Eclipse but it keeps shutting down.
If you find something new, post it here!
I actually think that there is something wrong with the internal memory or something like that, that is causing this shutdowns.
But what is wierd is that when my phone is recovery the shutdowns doesn't happen, what is kind of wierd for a hardware problem...

Hello, I have not tried. Never thought about it. I might give it a try. My current version of the system is: 672.180.350.XT910.Brasil.en.BR.
I will try the original Rogers firmware, has a different kernel.
Thank you very much for the advice .
Have a nice evening. Bye.
The problem with the random restarts sounds like problem with the kernel itself.
I had the same problem when I was with the stock Android 2.3. I tried rooting and installing custom roms but my attempts failed. Then I found a thread in the forum that showed me how to install the OTA ICS Rom. I remember that I used RSD Lite to install this 6.7.2-180_SLC-31_LATAM_SPYDERICSRETBRLA_ServiceCFC_fastboot.xml.zip.
I think that solved my problem.
Maybe my original kernel wasn`t good and after I did that I installed new one with it which helped me.
Hello, so I flashed the firmware from Rogers - GAS_NA_SPYDERICSROGERS_P012 with the newest Kernel - 3.0.8-g35a1af9 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPR Tue Jul 24, but unfortunatelly the device shut it self down. I am going to try older firmware. Wanted to ask, if theres a possibility to flash only kernels and basebands on the newest Latam rom or customs roms? Thanks a lot. Have a nice day. Bye.
So far I tried 2 different firmwares and the result is the same - hard shutdown. I realized that on both firmwares was the same kernel 3.0.8. Is there any else Kernel in ICS firmwares or my last option is the gingerbread firmware? Thanks. Bye.
Being in ICS is impossible to go back to GB... Have you tried flashing other FW with RDS lite... Try others FW http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php

Thank you very much for the advice. I already tried to flash new and old LATAM firmwares, but the shutdowns appeared. I am trying MIUI rom with 3.0.8 kernel from LATAM firmware. Have a nice day. Happy New Year to everyone . Bye.
Also custom Rom does not help. Shutdown appeared.
Already tried and flashed these firmwares:
6.7.2-180_SLC-31_LATAM_SPYDERICSRETBRLA_ServiceCFC_fastboot.xml.zip
6.7.2-180_SLC-35_LATAM_SPYDERICSRETBRLA_ServiceCFC_fastboot.xml.zip
6.7.2-180_SLC-35_R02_SIGNLATAM_SPYDERICSROGERS_P012_A012_HWp2b_CFC_fastboot.xml.zip
all have 3.0.8 kernel. Maybe the new JB firmware will solve the problem. If I flash a non LATAM firmware will I brick my device? From what I read on the forums posted on XDA, it is not possible to flash different firmwares, that means I can only flash LATAM firmwares? Thanks for all the suggestions. Have a nice day. Bye.
Can there be a hardware problem with my device? I know that there is nothing wrong with my battery, because I bought a new one and shutdowns still appeared. Thanks. Bye.

It's sounds that you have problem either with the temperatures or with the CPU. Have you overclocked your CPU? What's the history of your phone? Have ever fell? When did it start doing this?
Hi. I have a SGSIII which doesn't work properly. Its previous owner told me that the phone had started work slowly so the owner decided to restore factory settings. After that operation he was not able to use SGS. It keeped restarting. He gave up and now this telephone belongs to me. When I try to run this phone telephone restarted as soon as the system started. I decided to flash SGS with stock firmware. I found the one which contained only one file (PDA). Unfortunately it didn't help me. Then, I installed CWM and CM11. But the problem still wasn't solved. Finally I decided to find four-file stock rom (Bootloader, PDA, PHONE, CSC), of course I still have the same problem. I've been looking for solution in the Internet and I'm afraid that could be hardware problem, what is more, it seems to be common. Do you, guys, have any ideas what can I do to fix this issue? Or can you confirm that is the hardware problem? Thanks in advance.

Well I haven't tried taking it to service, because I am not sure if it is worth to repair this. Replacing the motherboard will be expensive so the better way will be buying another phone.
It could be a stuck power button... that can cause bootlooping type behavior. If the phone turns itself on when you put the battery in, but then reboots before it gets done booting it's likely the power button.

I don't think so the power button is guilty, becaue the telephone doesn't turn itself and it doesn't reboot until Android starts.
