Hi,
I just changed my phone to a Huawei P6, but this phone is now in repair (week3 ;( ),
so i need to use my evo 3d again.
But when i use my new sim-card I can not send sms, but I recive them.
PS. I needet to put a selfmade sim-adapter to put in my micro-sim,
but everything works but sending sms
(i reset my phone, changed roms, but nothing changed)
btw.i changed the sms-center-number many times, but nothing happens
Probably the problem is with the sim card

Hello.
My father has a SGS2 and has a problem with receiving messages.
It's so complicated, I don't know how to explain it )
When someone texts him, he receives that SMS multiple times. And if he receives another message, the telephone keeps receiving the first message.
Last night I took a test: I sent him 4 messages, little time one after another. He received 8 messages (all duplicates of the first), but in a very strange way: at a 10 minutes interval (0:07, 0:17, 0:27...).
Does anyone has any idea?
Have you tried his sim in another phone to rule out the phone as the problem?

Yes, I tried his sim in another phone and also my sim in his phone.
But... it looks like the problem was solved!
My father uninstalled this morning all the apps and games he didn't use, and magically he receives the messages ok
I think it was some bug, but I can't relate it to any app, unfortunately.
Hmmm without reinstalling them one by one it would be hard to fine the problem app.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a rooted Jetstream as a phone? I assume it would involve accessing the phone.apk somehow, but i am unsure.
It would be nice to be able to toss my vivid SIM card into my Jetstream and have a phone/tablet all-in-one.

I was able to enable and access the phone menu, the dialer is huge on the tablet screen, but I did not actually test it as at&t puts a voice restriction on all tablet plans... It would need a phone sim card to test, but then again it would have the wrong data plan for data, which would throw up some flags on your account.
Instructions are similar to the HTC Flyer, just needs some build.prop editing.

Cool. I will give this a try today. I have an LTE data plan on my vivid, so I will try that SIM. Between that and possibly setting up a new APN this may work.

I have done it.
working ok with Orange SIM card on a rooted Jetstream.
SMS works perfect, send and receive sms from the Jetstream (Need to download from the market an sms client, i used SMS chomp)
As for the phone functionality:
Dialer - works as expected both orientations (able to call who ever is in my contacts)
Able to dial and get a ring on the other phone, call start but there is no voice.
Missed called notification, works, both on lock screen and at the notification bar, showing a red missed call with the details.
Not working : Voice, no voice on any side of the call, nither on the jetstream or the other called phone, the call is active, both sides are connected and call minutes is running, but there is no voice at all.
tried earphones, speaker, bluetooth, nothing gets the voice working.
this is still needed to work on till a fix will be found.

Hi there.
Not shure what happend, but I cant send sms with my SGS 2 runing stock ICS..
When it first started (two days ago) I was on LPQ baseband, so I tried LP7, LPS, KI4, KI1 but non made me able to send SMS. I can recive them, and I can browse the web with 3G or HSPDA.
To day I restored my phone to factory settings with GT-I9100_SEB_I9100XXLPQ_I9100OXXLPD_I9100XXLPQ.tar and rooted with
CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5
Ideas to what I can check?
Network provider: Netcom
Other phones i home : iPhone - works with same network.
Insert some other simcard and try sending a message if the message is delivered then try using the simcard which was not working.

Have you checked your message centre? In the messaging app, under settings.
Also try changing messaging app. Try handcent or go SMS. Just send an SMS to your own number. If received properly, all fine, or else its a network problem.

Hi ya,
the guys from android-hilfe.de sent me here because they cant help me anymore. I brought the HOX+ 3 weeks ago on ebay local. the first week everything went fine and then out of a sudden I cant sent SMS or call anybody. when I try to call anybody (no different if I enter the number by hand or chose it from the contactlist) the connection isnt established. no error message, nothing. just "beep" and thats it. I use a vodafone simcard and if another vodafone user tries to call me, he gets the same "beep" like me, when I try to call. SMS dont reach me either. the sender gets an error just seconds after he tries to sent. I cant sent it too. BUT i get access to the internet. surfing, whatsapp and the facebook-app works fine. I had switched off wifi to make sure the connection is established through my vodafone carrier...and it is.
I called my provider an they say it must be the simcard - so they sent my a new one. but it doesnt helped. the same errors like before. then i tried to chance my simcard with a friend who uses o2 in his galaxy S3. my sim worked in his phone perfectly and his sim in my HOX+, too. Then i took the simcard of another friend whos also using vodafone and put it in my HOX+. the problems with calling and SMS were the same. my sim card was working fine in his HD2. so i tried more and more...it seems that only vodafone simcards got the problem with my phone. i also tried to reset the HOX+, deleted call forwarding, which doesnt fix the problem too. even gsm-codes like #004# or *135# wont work and a got the error message "Connection Problem or Invalid MMI Code".
because i brought it on ebay i´m afraight it might have been stolen and locked by the provider - is there something like simlock or netlock? and if yes, how to fix it?
please excuse my bad english and thanks a lot for your help in advance
http://www.imei.info/
use that to check if it's stolen
Hi Lexx,
nice to see you here .
I dont think that is stolen ( more I hope so ). First check that out , maybe you or someone else is able to unlock it, if it is simlocked.
If it is stolen I would force as much preassure as I can to the seller...
Paypal or a complain to the police
thank you for you warm welcome.
i just checked the imei at imei.info and can't see any clue that the phone was stolen. do you need any information provided by the homepage or how to go on now? the phone still isn't working (except internet).
Goto the Vodafone website,
In their support area you can find a formulae to reapply network settings.
I had the problem you described with my dhd, reapplying carrier settings fixed SMS and calling.
Alternatively you can manually crosscheck all settings.

Alex

well I crosschecked the settings at least 10 times. they are definately correct. A konfiguration SMS cant be sent by 1&1 (a reseller of vodafone i use) because I cant receive sms at all. so my problem is still there. I recognized, that after I try to sent a SMS the connection always breaks down and I have to enter my pin-code again.
It seems there's something very strange with that phone. maybe any kind of lock?!
ps:
i can sent MMS but do not receive them.
Did you try a factory reset?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
yes i tried software reset in the settings menu. But i didnt worked
Sounds like you need apn settings
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
are you sure? The settings are correct and internet and mms wouldnt work if the settings were wrong. Right?
Depends and you said the Sudan? Hmm may be its a band issue. If your not on the same gsm bands your not going to receive voice. But if your on a compatible data band you will receive data. Now call your service provider and simply ask if the settings are correct. And there are data only Sims so you gotta watch out. Call the service provider and see what's what
. Good luck!

it worked some days until it suddenly stopped working. i already got a new simcard and checked the settings. they're right. but i found out that i'm not the only one having this problem:
forums.att.com/t5/Wireless-General-Device/HTC-one-X-plus-stops-receiving-calls/td-p/3370861
i just use the carries 1&1 (a german reseller of vodafone),but the problems are the same... and it seems there's no solution to fix it
maybe you got a clue?
Hmm ok how is the signal?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
depends on where I am. Right now in the middle of berlin it says hsdpa with maximum signal.
Can you tell me what the right settings would be when I enter *#*#4636*#*# ??? there are loats of information and maybe there it can be seen which is wrong.
any clue? Well I found out that there is something called "vodafone protect" which seems to lock and/or delete the mobile when it's stolen. maybe I bought a protected one Or should this be "deleted" when I reset by menu??
Hi, I'm having a strange problem here. The phone does not receive any text messages. It can still send them and still receives mms though. This is actually the second time it's happened and none of the solutions I've found so far have worked.
What I ended up doing the first time it happened was I took out the sim and put it into my old phone (an AT&T One X) and that would receive all those texts I wasn't getting before. Then I factory reset the S3 and put the sim back into it. Doing that solved the issue for a little while, but now it's happening again.
Anybody know what's happening here or what I'm doing wrong? I'm on AT&T and currently running Android Revolution HD 22.4 using the latest official Samsung rom. The phone is a European version that I bought from Newegg unlocked.
Thanks!

My wife's having the same problem with her international GS3 on AT&T - just stopped receiving text messages a couple of days ago, but she can still send them and she can receive MMS. She swapped sim cards and nothing changed, and a factory reset didn't fix the problem. Call center number is correctly indicated in the messaging app. I spent an hour on the phone with AT&T and they were unable to help (and unwilling to help after I said the word "unlocked"). However, I put the sim in an old phone and she immediately received the missing text messages.
Running stock EMB5, not rooted.
I think it's some configuration problem.
Like number of SMS center or such, ask your operator to get exact configuration.
I have been experienced similar problem, not unable to receive but unable to sent correctly, my text was incorrectly encoded.
just check out the setting.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Well as I said, the call center number was correct.
In any case, I seem to have fixed the issue (for the moment, at least) by using the kies "firmware upgrade and initialization" procedure to wipe and reset the phone.
