Hey yesterday I went to update the custom ROM, on my T-Mobile HTC One, SlimBean (4.3) to SlimKat (4.4.2) but there was some error during installation so instead I just reinstalled SlimBean. But now my google account won't sign in and won't sync. But I tried making a new account and that one works fine. I already tried using a totally different top, doing a full wipe and going to accounts.Google and revoking access on my two gmail accounts. Still have tried going to stock or resetting to factory default which I'll try once I get back from work tomorrow. Just wanted to see if anyone else had an idea on why this is happening.
I fixed it! All I did was flashed on TWRP 2.6.3.3 (instead of 2.6.3.3) did a full wipe then flash on CM11 (4.4.3 KitKat) with the gapps and it works now.
Hey guys, I tried to flash the HTC One Stock rom ported to my DNA, which “bricked” my phone. I was stuck on the white HTC boot screen when I tried to boot, and was only able to go into the bootloader (CWM recovery would not boot). I have S-OFF, HBOOT, unlocked bootloader, root access. I then tried flashing the team win recovery, which worked, but also would not boot. After continuing to get frustrated, trying to run RUU (failing because my battery was below 30%), I did some more research and tried “fastboot clear cache”, then tried booting into recovery – tada! So now I was in recovery, cleared all my cache/data, flashed the CM 10.2.1 zip and the latest PA Gapps I had stored on the phone. Everything went clean and Cyanogenmod booted up.
Now, however, the Play Store will not open (connection error, “retry”) and Hangouts will not connect. Any ideas? I’ve tried clearing Google Play Services data, Hangouts data, Play Store data, rebooting, toggling airplane mode, removing and re-adding my google account. Also, I’m getting sync errors for my google account. Any help here would be appreciated.
Most of the other Google apps I’ve tried work fine and have all my data, including Maps, Gmail, Keep, Search/Now, Play Music, etc.
It may also be important to note that the phone is currently not attached to a number (I re-activated my old iPhone 4s so I can at least have a phone for the time being). I do have wifi access.
Thanks.

Everytime that happened to me it always ended up being because it was either an outdated version of GAPPS or it wasn't a minimal gapps install. What i recommend is to look up version of android you're running, google "*your android version 4.x.x* minimal gapps.zip" I always go minimal because having all of the extra play apps and google services isn't necessary and can cause issues with certain roms, plus dat battery drain is rough compared to a minimal gapps install. After this has happened and it still hasn't worked, let me know :good:

I tried two different "minimalistic" gapps - one was 15mb and the other ~60mb. For the 15mb one, my keyboard didnt work and I had the same google connection issues with the other one.
The latest pa gapps on 10.2.1? Do you mean the latest 4.3 gapps or did you accidentally use the kitkat ones? If you used the kitkat ones it would definitely cause problems like that. My suggestion: just flash the latest cm11 and pa gapps. I think you'll be much happier with it anyway.

Hey, been a little to busy to troubleshoot this. My problems began when I flashed a snapshot build of CM11 for the DNA. There is no "Stable" release on their downloads page yet: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=dlx&type=.
I did find this guy though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714425
Should I try flashing this? Also, I was reading that you need new radio firmware for Kit-Kat. Is this true? I tried to flash the latest radio through fastboot but it gave me an error that had something to do with an unknown device ID.
Let me know your input, thanks.
Update:
I Flashed C-Rom 6.5 (Android 4.4) and the 4.4 PA Gapps and still had the same exact issues as before:
Play Store Connection issue
Hangouts connection issue
Other google connection issues
No 800 MHz cell band connection (device said Voice was Out of Service when I put my phone number back on). 700 MHz LTE, however did work.
Can't get adb to see my device, but fastboot can.
Corrupted model id and serial number.
So with all these issues above, the corrupted model id and serial number are what I've been mainly trying to tackle. I've read about fastboot flashing the ENG HBOOT and changing the model id that way, but I cannot flash zips in fastboot because of the corrupted model id (give the model id check error and fails). I'd be completely satisfied at this point with running RUU and getting onto the stock 4.4 update that came out. However, when I run the RUU.exe, it says it can't see my device and when I try to flash the RUU hboot, radio, and recovery zips, obviously the model id check will fail. I've since factory reset and flashed CM10.2.1 back onto the phone because C-Rom 6.5 was very laggy. The phone is pretty much just a wifi device now and I have to download apps via apk's in the browswer and manually update everything.
Anyone have any ideas on getting the model id and serial number back to normal? Really starting to get tired of my cracked iPhone.
I didn't see this posted yet so I had to ask, has anyone else had trouble with the play store? Every time I want to open the play store it says that there is no connection. I've tried it on perfect 3G and WiFi with the same results. The app will start and then it will show my email address and some options but at the same time it says there's no data connection. I'm on the stock ROM ROW 124. I've noticed many instabilities with this ROM, but this is the worst problem so far. Apart from that the next worst is that it often stalls, sometimes up to 15 to 20 seconds. Often that happens when changing apps or starting an application.

Well like I said it's a strange problem, but it's a problem that I have nonetheless. And every time it happens I have to reinstall the ROM to fix it. I tried clearing out recently installed apps and the dalvic and such with no luck. So after three weeks of the problem I decided to post this question. Which ROM would you suggest for the most stability and battery life?

I've had a lot of trouble trying to switch to the Chinese base and even more trouble trying to switch back. Which is the best for row with 8gb internal memory?
I had this problem on the AOSP 1.8 China. The GAPPS that i used are for 4.4.2, you should look for the one of your Android Version.
I know that the rom is different, but here there are my steps for the INSTALLATION of AOSPand to solve the ISSUE ABOUT GOOGLE ACCOUNTS, i think it should work even for your rom:
- I installed Vibe UI with Flashtools, just booted to check it then I rebooted in recovery. I didn't put any google account on it.
- From recovery I installed the AOSP 1.8 4.4.2
- At the first boot I get this 2 messages: "Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped" "Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped" and I can't go on seting up the phone.
- Back in recovery tried a wipe to factory settings, it works, so I enter in the O.S.
Then
- Once in the O.S. I cant get to login in my Google Accounts, I get "there was a problem communicating with Google Servers"
- Back in recovery tried another wipe to factory settings, it DOES NOT works.
- From recovery I flashed again AOSP 1.8 over the AOSP 1.8, it DOES NOT works.
- Downloaded the GApps_Light_4.4.2_signed.zip, it DOES NOT works.
- So i was tired, and I installed from recovery SLX v26a CHINA.
- In SLX v26 I tried to log in with Google Play, and I logged in with success.
- Back in recovery I flashed again AOSP 1.8 over the SLX v26 china.
- Booting the AOSP 1.8, Google Play icon and files exist, but in SETTINGS->ACCOUNT there is no option to put a Google Account (only standard EMAIL ICON) and if you try adding it from Google Play, it crashes.
- Again, back in recovery, I Installed again GApps_Light_4.4.2_signed.zip
- Still in recovery, I tried a Wipe to Factory
- Back in the O.S. I tried to add an account in Settings->Accounts, and finally it works.
I found GApps_Light_4.4.2_signed.zip on XDA but i cant remember the address of the discussion. Mine was of size of 47.4 MB not the one of 50 MB, the second ones gave me an error in recovery.

Well I'm not getting any force closes. I'm on the stock ROM that I bought it with. It's just rooted and TWRP recovery. I want to try the Vibe UI ROM but getting the darn thing to switch to a China base has been killer. So I don't know how this could be a gapps problem as I never had to flash gapps on this unit. If you know an easy way to flash over to a version of kitkat on an 8 gb set I would be very grateful for your imput. I think that my trouble is coming from the OS 4.2.1. I like Droid 4.3. It's still jelly bean but it's better than 4.2.1. I read on the Chinese site that version 124 is unstable, But I've had a horror of a time changing it.

Stock Lenovo P780 Row 124S 8GB
Hi Guys,
I'm needing a little help. I have my phone rooted and it was flashed with CM11. I switched back to the stock rom to check something and when I tried to reactivate the slot my rom was in, the reactivation failed. So I figured if I have to put a rom back on, I would try something new. After reading some reviews on a couple of roms, I choose the Pacman LP rom 5.1.1. Installed and flashed the gapps. All of the google stuff updated fine. A couple of days later I noticed I wasn't able to use the data to go online. The phone and texts were fine. I thought it was the rom, so I deleted it and reflashed. Again, couldn't go online. Contacted my carrier and the found out the APN wasn't listed. Added it and all was good again. So I thought.
After flashing the rom I again flashed the gapps, only this time google play services will not update. It keeps flashing error code 506. I've wiped the cache several time and have also done a factory reset to no avail. I've also deleted the rom and tried installing it in a different slot, and that isn't working either. I've downloaded newer versions of gapps, but cannot get them to install at all. When trying, I either get error code 40 or 70.
I've deleted the cache from Google Play Store and Google Play Services and I've also gone into data/data and deleted the cache from com.android.vending. Nothing seems to work.
After this long story, my question is, if go into the stock rom and delete safestrap and reinstall it, could that possibly fix my issue?

Try mokee, cyanogen, or one of the unofficial roms like resurection remix or something like. I am currently running on my droid 4 and razor resurection remix but based on android M. It all depends on what you like. If you like to customize and highly configurable rom resurection remix based on android M is good to go. I use open gapps projects.
Hi,
I was running a cm 13 ROM on my Galaxy S 3 i9300. With Google Play. But after installing several ROMs it's gone. I have the same ROM but when I now install it it comes without Gapps. How come? Is there a way to switch them off/on somewhere so they won't get installed?
How to get it back? I have tried to intsall Google Play separately but none seam to work. Google services just keeps crashing.

If it comes without GApps, you can try flashing them... http://opengapps.org/
To check your type of processor, you can try using Droid Info(this one is better I think) or CPU-Z. Since you don't have Play Store, probably APK mirror is a choice.
If this is not what you want, please explain yourself better.
( I am assuming you have a custom recovery to flash OpenGapps, since you tried several ROMs)
I have Clocworkmod recovery (if this answers the question). Since I rooted the phone, I have only tried like 3-4 different CM ROMs. Only one of them came without Google. Others came with Google. But few days ago when I flashed the same ROMs several times I suddenly didn't get Google anymore. How come if it's the same ROM file?
Thanks for the links, I'll check the out later. Gotta run ATM.

That seems very strange, since its the same file. Did you tried downloading and reflashing the zip again? Something weird could have happened, resulting in a corrupted file.
By the way, I just noticed that CWM 6.0.4.7 and 6.0.4.5 have some problems with the OpenGapps, according to their FAQ(section 5)

Opengapps was what I needed! And it worked. Thanks!
But yeah, I was certainly flashing same ROM files. First few times I got Google and at some point not anymore. I did not download new zip files in the meantime. I don't even remember where I did I get one of them. I have noticed a similar thing some time ago that flashing the same ROM gave me a little different outcome. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was something like although I wiped cache and user data, I still had all my settings in place after flashing.
