Unlocked bootloader SOLVED - HTC One Max

Will I be able to recive the upcoming kitkat update with an unlocked bootloader? I have installed the odexed 1.54.401 rom and original recovery. I can't remember...
I found the answer on the unlock bootloader site "Furthermore, although you will still be able to receive updates to your device via FOTA .....(“firmware over the air”), "

[Q] Rooted HTC Desire X software update problem

I am using a rooted HTC Desire X. Recently I received an update notification saying there is a software update. So after download the update, it cannot be installed. Is there any solution to this?
The software package is OTA_PROTO_U_ICS_40A_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.18.707.1-1.14.707.1_release_295253uus4cbfd6ubkm2gm.zip
Any one face the same problem?
My phone Bootloader still remain unlock.
I have tried to lock my Bootloader and install the package and it can't work.
Hope to get some solution from all expert here.
Thank you.
You have to flash the stock recovery and lock your bootloader, then you'll be able to install the update

I don't have stock recovery. However I have download the stock kernel from HTC website. Will this help to flash back to stock?
I don't think so, but try that... Are you sure you don't have a stock recovery somewhere....

Guys I have looks like the similar problem.
I've successfully updated to 1.18.707.1 via OTA on rooted asian Desire X (HTC_044) (didn't knew that it was rooted just got it from pall and hit update when notification popped-up) but after that sound speaker on my phone stopped to work. Any suggestions how to fix that?
OTA can successfully get installed only if u hav stock recovery and oem locked.

Just relock bootloader and flash 1.18 RUU.

No OTA until now, any other solutions?

Hello all,
There is still no JB update for me CID_J15 although some people with the same CID got it!
I am on JB custom ROM, i return back to stock ICS to check for the update, but no luck!
A guy "ahmad" made a thread for all the official OTA updates, which includes CID_J15, but when am on stock, my software version is -as i remember- 1.18.405.x
So, can i use any of the OTA updates mentioned in that thread to update to JB?
I just need my hboot to be updated as am going to continue using custom ROMs.
Thanks

I was about to ask the same.
How do I install the OTA zip file ? Can somebody please tell me.
Try looking for the ota files which are downloaded during the update. After that you can manually initialize the update,
Or the best way is to wait for another week. I got my update a week after others got

Firstly go to all stock by flashing stock rom stock recovery and stock boot.img
Secondly Copy the ota in download folder in sdcard and then go to bootloader.

You can flash the PM66IMG.zip through fastboot, and then flash an JB ROM with a JB kernel, that's done.

Can I unlock boot loader and use a different rom with a different firmware

I'm on tmobile and I update to .11 and now revone don't want to work and it seem like the firmware patch the root in the method , so wondering if I change the rom would you be able to get revone to work on the phone??

Soff has to do with the hboot. Flashing a custom Rom changes the system and boot partitions. So flashing a Rom will not change weather you can Soff. With an unlocked boatloader you can flash recoverys and then rooted roms. Twrp will even add superSu to your current Rom.

Yea I know that part and I'm on hoot 1.44 just updated to the new firmware to improve my lte , but my question is that is it possible it I unlock my boot loader And flash a rom and then run revone , would it work ? Becuz the new firmware block the method for s-off
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
You can still unlock via htcdev. But HTC patched the exploit that makes revone and others like moonshine work, so... Currently there is no method for u to soff. That will not prevent u from flashing ROMs though. Just unlock, flash a custom recovery via fastboot. Fastboot flash recovery "name of your recovery".IMG then your free to flash away.
Now,,, I should note that I have not actually updated to .11. What I know I know from research on XDA. I considered it but since I already updated to 2.24 I decided to only flash the radio from the tmo update.
I hope I have answered your question.
P.S iPhone!? Really?' Excuse me I have to go wash the siri off my hands

[Q] AT&T HTC One to INTL (after latest OTA)

I've stubbornly tried to keep my AT&T HTC One bone stock, never rooting and installing every OTA update.
If I now want to go to the latest stock International ROM (unrooted), is it correct that I have to use the downgrade procedure, which requires unlocking my bootloader? (I was under the impression that before the latest OTA with the updated HBOOT, the bootloader didn't have to be unlocked?)

Downgrading firmware not necessary. Unlock bootloader and flash custom firmware, then install custom ROM.
Unlocking bootloader always necessary for installing custom recovery and ROM.

Okay, I'm confused. I thought to use the International RUU, I had to SuperCID, which is done via revone and a HBOOT exploit. So, no bootloader unlock was required.
Am I incorrect?

If you're going to use RUU to convert your phone, then you are correct. If you are just going to install a ROM only and install firmware updates manually, then you would need to unlock bootloader and install custom recovery.

[Q] Official Update

Hi,
I got my official update through Wifi.
After downloading i tried to install it but the phone just rebooting and loading into recovery .
I locked the recovery and tried again, now its going to boot loader.
Current version: 1.17.401.1
Got Version :2.18.401.2
Please let me know what i need to do for installing the official update.
If u have unlocked bootloader and install CWM / TWRP Recovery then you cannot install the update, ever. Anyways, the plate is quite useless so forget it even came.
