Nothing can be done without rooting!
This feature is on most AOSP roms.
I read a thread for the device samsung galaxy s3 and maybe if you can change a few settings for your device, you will be able to add that
Atleast you will get an idea.
Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2254022%3Cbr%20/%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E[MOD][HOW-TO]%20Long%20press%20volume%20mod%203.0
Press thanks if I have helped

[SOLVED] How to change capacitive touch button function?

Hi Guys!!
I accidently broke my back capicitive button and only menu button is working.
To solve this I changed WALKMAN key's function in 'pm8085-keypad.kl' and make my MENU key as back key by changing menu key's function in 'cyttsp_key.kl'.
However this method was working flawlwssly in stock rom and all the costum rom which has base rom of stock rom.
But this method is not working in cm9, cm10. I don't know why. I really want to try cm10. So anyone know how to make this method work in cyanogenmod's rom then I will be really grateful.
Thanks
EDIT:
SOLVED!! Just noticed that after editing the file the permission of that file automatically changed restricting any changes on the buttons.
So I changed the permission manually (rw-r-r) of the file after editing.
In cm10 you can set custom action on the buttons

You can add on screen keys to replace the broken hardware keys. The easiest way depending on your skill level will be to flash the PA, AOKP, or PAC ROM for your device.

[Q] Enable volume rocker skip tracks in stock rom?

Is there any way to enable just the feature of being able to skip tracks while screen is locked in the stock JB rom for XT910?
I know there are a ton of custom ROMs that have this but I quite like the stock one except for this one feature

Can you share the name of the file or the thread please?
But thanks to artur0588, there is a way to get this working on the stock JB ROM.
Note that you need to have root for this.
Get the "android.policy.jar" from /sys/framework on his DSEA ROM - http://d-h.st/vhi
Copy the extracted "android.policy.jar" from the DSEA ROM over to the same location in the stock ROM.
Reboot.
That's it :highfive:
But a word of caution - This will result in the loss of the power menu options. When you long press the power key, you will just directly soft reboot!

[Q] Themes from Google Play won't work.

Hello everyone. I am new here, sorry if I have posted in a wrong place. I've searched for similar problems, but I haven't found anything. Probably I am just dumb, but...
The problem is, I have Xperia SP C5303 with Android 4.3, rooted and of course bootloader is unlocked. On Google Play there are many Xperia themes that need root to change things like buttons etc. I have rooted my phone, yet they just don't work. It didn't really bother me, until I saw Legend of Zelda theme, which i immediately fell in love with. It says it needs root to work. Ooookay, so I download it, aaaand... Guess what. It didn't work. Please, help a dummy in need. Thanks.
Edit: Also official themes from Sony Select work. And the themes I am talking about don't need themers, I mean things like theme launchers etc. They install just as official themes do.

From what I have seen, it's a bug with some Xperia devices running 4.3. Seems like you need to use your root access to convert the downloaded apk into a system app and reboot and then it should show up.

Try to use the latest one, if the latest doesnt work for you then choose older and older and so on. Latest one should work fine though. Remember to make a backup beforehand and let me know how it went and I might just create a version for CM11!

i will need your help to restore if needed to original configuration
and i dont know where the logs are created for this installation so i will need a help with this also.

@olokos

About your mod fw 3.14 , at first it worked fine on cm11. But the next day ive had a lot of problem with pepole unable hear me or me them and when the phone supposed to ring it didnt ring at all.
So i think the mixer paths are diffrent on cm11.
Btw your script didnt do a backup of the mixer file. I needed to replase it by myself from cm11 zip
Thanks

There's no point in "uninstalling it" as it's not something that actually gets installed. It's basically a modified file that gets copied. You can flash anything over it and it won't matter what was flashed before.
I have installed this mod yesterday on my sony xperia z2 running on android 4.4 firmware version 23.0.A.0.167. Headphone volumes increased while listening on songs and vides, but i didnt feel any increase on call volume. Please let me know whether this mod will increase call volume also through head phones..

Can someone please send the stock mixer_path.xml from .314? I still suffer echo/noise with stereo speakers in-call speaker mode. Why isn't it possible to use the bottom mic in speaker mode? The top mic is used when in speaker mode...
Update: downloaded stock mixer_path.xml from deodexed stock rom. Overwritten the file and fixed the rights, rebooted... Still 2 speakers in-call on speaker mode. Is stock using 2 speakers or am I doing something wrong? [emoji15]

[Q] Increasing volume on SGP521 running Lollipop 23.1.A.1.28???

Hello,
could anyone please explaine me, where and what to change in the latest build of the mixer_path.xml to increase the system wide volume using the internal speakers? (SGP521 running prerooted Lollipop 23.1.A.1.28)
I tried the hints in this thread, but they will not work.

Sony will have to come with a patch to make the sound enhancements apply to all apps again. They must. But until then, apparently, we need to prod app developers into enabling support for Sony's sound enhancements...
