I came from the Note 2 with 4.3 FTW 1.0 and Synergy r3 roms. Both roms allowed me to open apps in the pop up windowed mode by clicking on the app in the multi window tray. On the note 3 stock rom clicking the apps in the tray automatically opens the split screen mode. Looked through the roms and screen shots and haven't seen a mention of this. Does anyone know how to get that feature on the note 3 besides using pen window manager?

Used xposed installer. It's a apk that allow mods. Once you have installed it look for a mod called "Xhalofloatingwindow". It will allow you to have apps that pop up. Oh and there's a cool app to use in conjunction with xhalo. It's called floating notification and you can find it in the android market.

So in the Play Store app, in settings, you UNchecked the option "Auto-add shortcuts"? I ask, because you said you unchecked "create shortcut", but I don't have that option with that exact name on my phone...
is it the same app creating shortcuts or all the apps you [email protected]?
if it is one app, if it creats shortcut everytime you run it, it is created by application. If it creates sjortcut everytime you downloaded and inatalled it, it is created by play market.
are you using touch wiz home or 3rd party home app?if it is 3rd party home and was told no room on screen while actually you have, there may be some incompatibily and you can try other home app or report the issue to developer.

I've been having a strange issue with the multitasking window. I hit the "edit" button to add apps that I want to multitask, but when I drag an app into the drawer it magically switches to a different app. It doesn't seem to have any kind of pattern either. It will just switch to any random app. Anyone else had this problem yet?
This appears to be a common issue with many of the multi-window mods.
I recommend the multi-window module for the Xposed framework as it corrects this problem.
It can be found here:

You need to clear data for com.sec.android.app.FlashBarService.
Then it will be fine.

So I now see 2 Roms with this mod baked in and while I agree the mod is amazing . I am waiting/wanted to see the same mod for phone mode.. Like the video and browser app we already gave. If like to float any app we have installed but keep the system on a phone mode. But with the moon ROM.. U only get floating windows in phablet /tablet mode.. Is there any mod or ROM in development with this in mind? I'm sure I can't be the only who would love this

+1 on that...I ran the mod on Beans 19 and while the floating windows was great, I didn't care for the the tablet mode so I reversed it. I know Beanstown106 is looking at it, so hopefully it will be coming down the road.
Well im still waiting for a rom or mod to allow phone mode dpi with floating windows.. I cant be the only one who wants this.

That would be pretty damn complicated to pull off. The new xperiacle mod has an app that can essentially turn all apps to a phone dpi rather than doing it individually in the App Settings module, which as close as we'll probably ever get if grilleid can figure out how to incorporate into the n7105 base moon and then we can get it ported to our version.

All you have to do is edit a couple files for the nav bar to show and then it automatically has floating windows because of that?
Does anyone know a way to get a menu option on one of the hardware keys? Recents, home, back...
I used xposed on cm12 based ROMs on my S5, and the app "all in one gestures" on touchwiz based lollipop ROMs, but I can't use either on the s6 edge (app says device not supported).
Any ideas? I have an app I use for work and it doesn't have the overflow-3 buttons to access the menu!
Turns out the app I was talking about now has the overflow menu button, but it's not a part of the app, it seems android has noticed it didn't have one and added one itself?
Does that seem right?
We developed this app so know it doesn't have this natively...
I noticed TouchWiz give is a little floating menu for apps that don't have one. XDA is a good example.
