For anyone researching this case before buying, I thought I'd post my experience. I'll try to list the aspects of the case as I experienced them with the "unboxing" as it were.
First off, ecstatic that I finally would have some decent protection for my phone. I put on a screen protector and cheap case while waiting for the Kraken to become available. Nothing of huge interest opening the package or taking the case apart (I'd watched a lot of S4 Kraken videos).
The inner silicone Perseus case is REALLY flimsy. It took me a long time to get the front over the silicone without wrinkling it, it took me several tries. After that, the Perseus and front easily snap together with the back.
I had to take off the kickstand to get the case to lay flat. With the stand off, the rubber corners make contact with the desk and I don't have to worry about scratching surfaces.
With the phone screen turned off you can see what looks like oil or something between the protector and the phone but it seems to be lessening over the past 24hrs and this oil look isn't visible when the screen in on. There is increased Spen friction from the protector. I don't know if I'm just getting used to it, but it seems to be getting smoother. I've found the protector to be a lint magnet as well as smudges/fingerprints.
All sensors, microphones and speaker works fine. The speaker even seems louder now.
The headphone and charger flaps close firmly but not the Spen one.
The Spen is a pain to get out but I guess I'll get used to it.
There doesn't seem to be any glare from the flash when taking pics.
The power and volume buttons seem to work better with this case than on the cheap slim case I had on previously.
I find the case big: 3 5/8" x 6 3/8" x 5/8" not including the protruding corners ( 3 3/4" x 6 1/2" x 3/4" with corners)
Overall, I think this is a solid case with good protection but time will tell (I work in construction)

I forgot to mention a couple of things. There is rubber on the sides of the case where you grip it. This is also where the belt clip connects
The clip seems to grab well enough. I tugged at it in different directions and it held. The ratcheting tension seems weak though. I can see it wearing out fast. As far as how the phone looks on the belt, I think it looks kinda goofy but maybe I just have to get used to it.
Also, I got the tripod connector for the case. I don't know if Trident has different size connectors to match diferent phones but the one I have isn't long enough to clear the side of the phone. I'll have to try to modify the shoe on my tripod to get it to work.

Sounds interesting but a picture is worth a thousand words. Guess pics can be found elsewhere online.

Until I have a chance to upload pics, search for
Tridentcase dot com, and go to Note 3. All the specs and different pics are there.

I have released the Kraken on a couple previous phones and I have always ripped the built in screen protector out and deposited it in the trash. I was able to install a tempered glass protector with the Kraken on my S3.

Crappy pics
My old camera died again after taking these, part of the reason I got a new phone.

How well do the different mounts attach to the case i.e.. I have been looking for a way to put my note on my motorcycle handle bars. Would you trust it?

I can't speak for the bar mount, I never held it in my hand. But I can say that the tripod mount only actually clips into the case on one end of the mount. There is a lot of resistance when clipping it in and taking it off. I think initially you should be good but I would wonder after all the vibration it would take, would the clips start to loosen up? Trident does make a bar mount, but if it was me given the cost of the phone, I'd have another exoskeleton replacement when you start to see it loosen up. I think the trident mount has rubber inside of the area going around the bars so it should diminish the vibration.

It works fine. I haven't noticed any loss since I put it on. The compass needs constant calibration but I don't think that has anything to do with the case.

Had the kraken for my old gs3 and I don't like the corners on this version. It's a tank though.

The corners are pretty beefy for sure but they make for nice, quiet gripping on the back and the 4 sides. It's too bad they don't protrude past the face as well.

Just bought this case. So far so good.
I only have to complaints about this case
The power button is very hard to push down and use. Is anyone else having this problem?
Also the screen protector it comes with has the "bubble" effect I'm thinking about just taking it off. I already have a screen protector on there.

[REVIEW] Spigen SGP Valentinus Wallet Case

So I have been looking for a case that doubles as a wallet so I could free up a pocket. I came across the Spigen Valentinus. I have read a couple reviews on it for other phones, but none for the note. Read some good things about it so I ordered it from Amazon for $44.99. It came in about a week ago and I am pretty pleased. Even though it's faux leather, the quality and stitching seem to be top notch. Has a smooth feel to it and isn't overwhelming in the hand.
It only has slots for 4 cards/license and a space for money. But since I carried a front pocket wallet before, this wasn't a problem. I carry my license and main debit card with me in it. My other membership cards, AAA etc., have apps that I use so I don't have to carry them anymore. I rarely ever carry cash on me, but if I do its only a few bills. Any more than 5 or 6 bills would probably be a little thick for the case. If you are a person who carries a lot of cash or has a George Costanza wallet, this is definitely not for you.
The size of the case is around 6" tall and 3 1/2" wide. Almost an inch thick with the phone inside. If you wear skinny jeans, this is a no go. It fits nicely for me in my pockets, but may be a tad large for some people.
As far as phone/camera use goes while in the case, I haven't had any issues. The front flap folds around the back easily to text or playbgames, although, to take a picture or video it is a little awkward at first. Talking on the phone is not an issue at all. The phone will even still read nfc through the case. I would recommend using a screen protector with this as the cards touch the screen and may possibly cause a minor scratch over time.
Overall, for a wallet case, I would rate this a 4 out of 5. If it were a little thinner and came with is own screen protector, like other Spigen products do, it would be an easy 5. Hope someone finds this useful.

I think this case looks beautiful but I would like to know if it's not to intrusive when you try to take a picture. That looks like the only possible downside to me.
I am still waiting for my case to come but I sit on my naked note all the time. I do take it out of my pocket if I sit on a hard surface just to be safe as I'm a good sized guy at 6'3" 230lbs. But my phones have all taken serious beatings. I'm rough on things and my sgs2 took the beatings so so very well... I assume my note will as well. Its already taken a tumble down 15-20 wooden stairs and also fell out of my work shirt pocket from 8 foot or so onto the concrete floor and made it through without so much as even a scratch. And keep in mind I have no case no screen protector. So these things are pretty tough. My wife's white skyrocket is missing clear coat already and she babies it. I assume it was just a bad coating to begin with.

Of course there will always be cases of good and bad luck with everything. Ive probably just been very lucky so far. I also ran my sgs2 over in the grass with my truck and and was fine. So I mean as far as build quality goes I think the galaxy series are pretty tough but they aren't indestructible and there's always going to be factory flukes that cause a bad experience for someone. Which really is a shame because they are great devices.

Aluminum ring bumper Case+S-view combo?

Hello ,
I'm having this Idea about using a metal ring bumper case along with the S-View cover from samsung, That way i would get good protection +the good feeling of both metal and leather combined (I do love the leather-ish back and the part i am most concerned about is actually the plastic chrome plated frame of the phone)
Do you have experience with metal encasement? would you think it would effect signal strength if only the side frame was covered?
PS: Thats the only metal frame I've found on Amazon

I've ordered the poetic and s line cases. the s line case for my note 2 is fine although the stand is flimsy. it only cost 5 bucks though so what are you going to do. I'm hoping the stand for the poetic holds up when you press on the screen.
That aluminum bumper looks nice, until In noticed that weird bump out on the lower left corner as seen from the front. Likely for a lanyard loop, but wow, what an awkward execution of that feature.

Still looks awkward, but I guess it needs some means of latching.
This one is a little more protective, a little bulkier though.

That's nice! Does it protect against scratches when laying the phone on a flat surface? Also, is it hard to remove in order to swap batteries?

I zoomed in on the picture and it looks like there will be no scratch protection for the back. You can see the fake stitching, so the back must stick out enough to scratch the cover & camera whenever you lay it down.
I'd also expect the inside of these aluminum bumpers to do horrible damage to the phone, it looks like there's no protection between the phone & the aluminum.
Can someone with an aluminum bumper comment, please?

I've never cared for carrying & changing batteries, so I like the wireless charging adapters. That way there's no need to remove the back. Even if you don't worry about scratching the back cover, bumpers don't protect the camera.
There's another aluminum bumper you might like, instead of needing to remove a screw to change batteries, the frame slides apart.

Rubber feet

Since I got my phone on Tuesday, I've noticed that I seem to have trouble picking up the phone when it is flat on a table.
It wasn't until this afternoon when I took out my previous phone to look at some settings that I realized why.
My previous phone does not sit flat on the table but rather the back is flat and the phone edge is raised above the table. So when I go to pick it up, my finger easily fits under the edge.
This phone even with the case is flat on the table with the edge flat to the table as well.
I'm thinking in looking for some rubber feet that I can put on the case that would raise the edge of the table to pick it up easier.
I've seen someone do that to give some protection for the camera lens.
Wonder if any one else has done that.
I am using the Spigen Neo Hybrid case.
If I paraphrase your message, it says that you have a hard time picking up the phone because it is too thin LOL
if you pay close attention, you will find that the camera portion protrudes from the back and the phone lies at a slight angle. The camera lens never touches the surface.
Go get yourself a bigger case if your fingers are so big they have trouble picking up a note 3
and if you have trouble picking up the note 3, i think it'll become a challenge for you to pick up the iphone 5 lol
In the Spigen Neo Hybrid case it is flush to the table. The camera does not protrude like it does without the case. So I imagine that without the case it is easier to pickup. However, I have already seen the effect of carrying around the phone without a case. Coworker dropped his, 2 days after he got it.
I found some "feet" that are very small that might do the trick.
Diagram showing what I am talking about. And no, I don't plan to go case hopping... Already spent enough on the phone, case and et al.

The N3 is actually a lot thinner, even with the case.
Sure, add some rubber feet. Why not.
I have a spigen bounce and assumed that the case you have would be similar.
My case has 45° angles at the bottom to the sides, so I can easily grab a bit under the case.
Put the oem wireless charging back on the phone. It makes the back thicker and therefore it is easier to pick up the phone.
I already have ordered a QI wireless set which should work with the original back and case.
As mentioned, I already have a case. Will update when the feet arrive.
I want to find some clear feet just thick enough to keep the camera off the table to stick right to the back of the phone. I love the phone but the awkward angle it sits at annoys me as my previous device (Note 1) had a mostly flat back and sat flat correctly. Anyone know where to get such feet? I have the white Note 3 so the back is hard plastic, perfect for attaching feet to.

Go to a hardware store or Lowes/Home Depot and tell a clerk what you want clear rubber feet that stick on. They'll probably have more than 1 type/size. You'll be able to ring some about 1/2 in diameter, either flat or rounded. Smaller diameter may be a problem.

would say it's slightly larger than your 5c
So you can see how small they are.

I have rubber feet on mine. They were salvaged from the underside of an old laptop. Routers, portable hard
drives, and other electronics are and excellent source.
I should do this.. prevents the surface from scratching the camera too...

I have these on mine. The problem is the adhesive does not stick well at all to the black back. Not sure if it has something to do with the soft touch feel or what but I've practically lost the sheet of these nipples.
I used to have an HTC one. I couldn't bare to put a case on that phone, so I bought a dbrands skin for the back, and went to ikea to pick up the Silicone bumper stops for cupboard doors. They work great! And best of all, they're free I'd you go to the returns /exchange counter. Rusts where they hold all the miscellaneous parts

Most of the Ringke Cases have little nubs like feet that keep the phone up. My friend has one on his iPhone and it seems to work great.
They still havent announced any cases for the note3... Which is a shame because i wouldve bought one yesterday.
If you get the OEM wireless charging back it will do the same thing.

Can you tell me if lens cover is plastic or glass?
The rubber feet actually worked out great.
However, I ended up moving to the Bounce case instead. It is slimmer, lighter and very grippy compared to the Neo Hibrid case.
I have used the feet on a lot of other stuff though, a number of USB drive cases etc...
Rubber Feet I used... there are actually fairly small, clear so they blend in well on the background of what they are attached to:

Sorry, I don't have a camera to take a picture of it at the moment.
The screen protector is the INVELLOP tempered glass, but I don't recommend this screen protector as they didn't cut the glass correctly. You have to angle the protector a bit to the right, or else it will kind of block the front facing camera. Once you do that though, it's not noticeable.
Got mine in. It's the same replica as the poetic bumper. It's sick though. Idk who's copying who but I love this thing. Can't wait to get my glass too.

I have had mine for about a week and a half now. The power button loosens up after about a week and it is much easier to press. Also, pay attention to take it off and clean underneath. After a week the backside of the bumper had trapped lots of "dirt". I normally would not care but the silver trim around the sides scuffed/scratched on my Note 2 due to this. Was minor but still annoying.

Is anyone able to post some pictures?
Sorry, it is dark here so the lighting is bad. The case fits great, all ports line up perfectly. There is enough of a lip on the front to lay face down with no issues. There is also enough on the back to clear the camera lens, but barely. Overall we'll worth the money and looks great.

There you go.
Anyone have one with an aluminium back? Just wondering how fitment is with it.
kinda looks a little cheap.. the ones i would buy for the note 2 are similar and had thinner spots that cracked a few weeks of normal use.

Perhaps we could get Bear Motion to build a flexible titanium case so you would feel like you got your $8 worth.
Seriously, what do you want for $8?

I do not, but it should fit. The back is mostly TPU so a MM thicker should not hurt it.

I sent mine back a week or so ago.. I didn't really like the moto logo exposed and thought it could allow dirt/dust to get in between the case and the phone .. I went with a case that covers the whole back..
Sent from another Nexus..

Interested in how you fixed the buttons. That's the only thing I don't like with this case
Nice pictures. But...
I absolutely hated this case personally. Makes the phone feel huge and bulky, just cheap overall. The sides don't fit very well (bow out) -- flimsy plastic, buttons are a loose plastic mess, it's bulky and feels cheap. Just not worth the price tag when compared to other cases.
@Ellingsoc .. I'll have that video posted in a few days. You will love how much nicer the buttons become.
@Andromjb.. Was the bowing because of the way the bumper was seated on the tpu case? It took me a while before I got the fitment to be perfect because I didn't realize the two pieces weren't in place correctly
Can you explain it haha these buttons are driving me nuts
I really want people to go to the video for that info. But I'll PM you.

Could have just been my particular case as I applied it multiple ways, but it never fit 100% correctly no matter how hard I tried.
Bottom would always bulge leaving the plastic rough to touch while handling (on the upper backside area by microphone). Top was a tedious task of maneuvering the soft rubber backing to fit correctly without getting stuck underneath the outer plastic shell. Plastic sides were flimsy. Unappealing loose cheap plastic buttons which were always in the way.
I was always accidentally hitting/pressing the volume rockers or turning the screen off while just trying to hold the phone.
Just bad design, imho.
Try out a Ringke MAX. You'll see a major difference in quality and features for the same (actually cheaper) price point.
the way i put the case on was to first align the bumper and tpu perfectly. Then I would hold the left and right sides firmly and put the phone in bottom side first. Snap the top corners in while pressing the phone downwards to the bottom of the case. Works perfect every time so far!
@Ellingsoc .. I pm'ed you bout the buttons btw. Nothing shows in my sent box though. If you didnt get it send me a pm and ill respond to that one

I have a clear back protector on my phone, then this case. Any dust or dirt that gets in will just mess up the plastic film

I would appreciate the info via PM also. Don't see the secondary video posted yet. Doesn't my seniority here afford me that?
Even in the pictures you have taken with your case, it is showing a minor glimpse of what I was experiencing. I think you may have gotten a better quality case from manufacturing or perhaps they have made stealth revisions since as mine was a lot worse even with proper applications.
See attachment below -- which was the rough touch edge I referred to from previous comments.
that really just looks like it wasnt clipped in fully. but i could be wrong.
And i shot a quick video of the button fix. will be posting it in maybe 20 minutes

It's just the way the case is designed. It goes on a bit too snug, so it leaves some parts a bit uneven which returns poor results and rough edges.
I'm not trying to say the case is terrible. I just want people to be informed of the certain flaws and quality before they end up spending $19+ while they have other options available for less.

I loved this case for my S4. I thought it actually made the buttons feel better! But for this phone...well let's just say I use a Rinke slim now.
