if the rom does not support OTA updates (only a few do, like Slim), you have to flash like all other people do, by using the recovery. not a big deal if you follow instructions.

My last rom was Slimrom but he didnt work with a lot of samsung featuers like smart stay so i prefer rom based on MK6.
Sorry for the newbe question but what do you mean OTA?
I know it's not such a big deal to update via recovery, Thank you for your help!

Yes, OTA is in software update.
I don't think that SmartDroid supports OTA at the moment.
Anyway there should be a new version up, V3.4, install it instead of V3.0.
Whenever I change version I also use full wipe, but it may not be necessary.

Remember that if you do no full wipe AND change a major rom version, you might run into problems like force closes etc

[Q] how to get JB via OTA?

hello there ,
I have a stock 4.0.4 on my international version SGS3 ,
I used CF-root in order to use titanium backup.
for some reason , everyone else are getting the JB via OTA and I can't get it...
can I get help for this issue? I really want the JB...
my baseband version is : I9300UBLG2
build number : IMM76D.I9300UBLG2
Thank you for your help.
OTA will fail on rooted phone anyway.
Backup your stuff.
Triangle away and unroot by flashing original firmware with odin.

So your country has an update of JB .
Simple method if JB has been released for your country .
Use CHECKFUS to download and flash via ODIN ..
BUT i think you are mistaken and JB has not been released for your country .

Dig as far down your trash as you can and you might find some JB down there

How about just downloading + flashing the Jellybean firmware instead of downloading + flashing ICS, then downloading + flashing JB (provided it's even available in your country+provider combo)

So there are now two newer versions out there, the latest only has an OTA no kdz, and if you flash it as is you will loose root
I suggest wait until there is a method to keep root and flash the latest, which I'm sure will be soon

L is the latest, if you want to flash j right now feel free
There are two Roms by eliminater74 and one by andy_zahng
For any of these choice you do not need LGup, so long as you are previously rooted
Just flash firmware (part one) via TWRP
Then flash any of those three Roms via TWRP
Reboot,
You will have j rooted
But being i tend to recommend a full wipe i would say wait until the latest L is out in a flashable .zip, should be soon

Did you try that method?
find a rollback package at honor site bro, if you can find one, you can downgrade easily..

KII L22C569B130 looking for help.

Greetings! i'm currently looking for an android 6~7 rom for my huawei gr5 (compilation number on the title). I've found several but non of them matches the whole compilation and i'm afraid of bricking my phone, i've installed roms before but was on a nexus one (old old phone) so i'm basically new again. I would pretty much appreciate advice, links, and whatever might help me on this process. Thanks in advance.
There are lots of ROMs in ROMs and kernel section.
So any rom there with the kII l22 tag will work to me? Even if the c569b130 doesn't match? That's my biggest question.

All of them will work if you have a firmware with no VoLTE.

Voice over LTE. You can't simply disable it for custom Roms to work. You need to be on B350 and below because B360 and above has VoLTE.

No.. stock marshmallow firmware should be on your device..
You can update via OTA update.. Or you canupdate manually.
After that unlock bootloader..then flash twrp and then flash any rom you want to.
