Hi, i was using the official Ginger 2.3.4 from Motorola with motoblur and one of the things i liked about it is that the screen never rotate on desktop or the app drawer but the apps and games do.
So i was wondering if anyone knows a way to do this with any of the custom roms out there? currently im using Aura 1.2.2.2 with faux133 kernel and baseband .36, right now all i can do is use a rotation app that would disable the rotation with a click but thats not what i want, i want only the apps and games be able to rotate by them-self but the app drawer and the desktop not.
Also I'd like to know if there is a fix available out there for the rain drop or something what is called the bug, that if u keep your screen pressed for more than 10 -15 secs it will disable the touch until u release ur finger and press it again. I know i read somewhere something about it but now i cant find any info on how to fix this cause i like to play emulators a lot and its a pain for them as u can imagine.
You can use tasker for auto rotation on several apps

No one?
I was wondering if we can get lock screen widgets on the LGOG. I've got Pandora and apparently they have lock screen controls but I can't seem to get them to show up on my lock screen. Also I've been seeing an app called Dashclock that seems pretty cool but I don't know if I can even use it. I have stock 4.1.2. I don't know enough about rooting to try it myself. Anyone know about this? Any comments are appreciated!

You could try Widgetlocker. Some apps like Amazon Mp3 offer lockscreen controls in the settings, but it is more of an overlay than actually being a part of the lockscreen. Dashclock is only compatible with 4.2 and above.
i'm running viper... which still has the sense lock screen with the ring you need to pull. is there any way to disable the lock screen?
i'd like to replace it with this "invisible lockscreen"...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47419188
it works - but i have to pull the sense lock ring before this one takes affect. i think it's a nice way to see you widgets on the lockscreen

I just tried renaming /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk and that seemed to work.
You'll need to mount /system rw (I used adb remount).
Now, instead of the HTC lockscreen I have, what looks to me, like the standard Android lock screen (dunno what that's called).
-xdadevelopers-user
Really! Wow... I may try that!
I don't even know what the standard android lock screen looks like...
thanks that worked! now my invisible lock in my OP works
thanks!
Has anyone gotten the lock screen to turn off?
I found a thread here where someone made a file to do it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642574) but it wasn't for the Droid DNA.
My goal: I want to just turn on my screen and have the homescreen right there ready to go....No Lock (just like I could do with older versions of Android.).
Thanks,
Joe

Nope...for some reason that doesn't work. Before the update to KK, it was an option on Sense 5, but now on Sense 5.5 it gives the option for None under Screen Lock, but it still requires to swipe up to Unlock!

App in the play store called no lock will do the trick. HTC removed that feature for some reason. They probably want you to have some type of security on your phone.
Please press the thanks button if I have helped you in anyway.
Dies anyone know of there is a native option to have the home screens and App drawer rotate (to landscape). I checked the auto rotate option in settings but home screens and App drawer are fixed in portrait mode (settings screen and others do rotate). I had this feature on my g2 and wondering if they removed it. Thanks
I would also like to know if there is a way to get the launcher to rotate. I normally use Nova Launcher but I'm kind of fond of the LG G3's launcher minus this little issue. I'm rooted and have tried various options with G3 Tweaksbox and Gravitybox to no avail, also unlocked the hidden Home menu and found a couple of promising options, but nothing seems to apply. I supposed a rotation app might work, but I'd prefer not to run one.

Ok, I figured it out by accident. You need to enable hidden launcher settings using G3 Tweaksbox. Then go into the hidden settings and do the following:
(note these are both towards the end of the options)
UNCHECK the following "FEATURE_USE_PORTAIT_ONLY"
CHECK the following "FEATURE_USE_SYSTEM_ORIENTATION_CHANGE"
There are others that seem to be related to auto rotation, but I made the above changes and everything seems to be working fine except the stock 5x2 weather widget w time which won't load when rotating the screen to landscape. All others seem fine.
Sweet, thanks for posting this. I had the first one unchecked but hadn't done anything to the second one. Now, I'm rotating how I choose!

At first i was using save options in the 3rd tab but that did not nothing accept reset my homescreens so dont do that. All you have to do is make your changes and hit the home button.
Btw unrelated but figure I'd share. After swearing I'd stay with the stock launcher I moved to nova prime. The auto rotate feature is an option plus the smoothness cant be matched by stock. I also replicated everything to match what i had on the stock launcher. Oh and the replicated version of the 5x2 weather widget i mentioned rotates fine with nova.

Yep, reset my homescreen setup. Ouch!!!!
I'll stick to stock. I don't the stock widget. I use Weatherbug Elite, since Blackberry Storm days....
I don't have any lag. I froze almost everything. I'm good. Just like the rotate because I use the phone horizontally in the car.
Thanks

Did you follow any specific list to freeze? I froze a ton but feel theres more. Just being lazy and dont want deal with the consequences if i freeze something i shouldn't.
Noob Question
Noob question but after turning the hidden settings on in Tweaksbox, I cant find the hidden settings!
Where are the hidden settings?
I was excited because I really want the homescreen to be able to rotate to landscape, but I can't seem to find the hidden settings you talk of. Are they still in the G3 Tweaksbox app or somewhere else? When I check the "Enable LG launchers hidden settings" I get the checkbox, but nothing else happens, even after I reboot. What am I missing?
I'm on a LG G2 with the CloudyG3 port installed

Go into settings-->homescreen and you should see it at the bottom.

for the g 3 at least it's located under the home screen settings on the settings at the bottom.
The two settings mentioned worked perfectly for me. Many thanks, rotation locker also worked but this is better since it sticks each boot.
Is there a guide anywhere that details what each of the settings in this hidden menu does?

I have searched but haven't been able to find anything. If anyone knows, I'd be very interested in this also.
My G3 was doing this yesterday. Put it on safe mode and auto rotate started working again. Restarted the phone and now it works fine. Go figure. Software bug.
It's been about ten minutes and so far so good. I have a Sprint G3.
