Is stock gingerbread better than stock ICS? - HTC EVO 3D

Hi folks,
1st timer. I have just managed to unlock the boot loader and root my EVO 3D GSM that is on HTC's stock android 4.0.3*ROM.*
Is it a nonsense to ask if I can immediately flash an old HTC stock gingerbread ROM *or am i strictly limited to just ICS ROMs ?
Is it worthwhile to even have stock gingerbread on the evo3D? My reasons are to get smooth 1080P 3D video playback that seems impossible on stock ICS. Tell me if you have direct experience of any custom ICS ROM that has flawless 1080P 3D video playback and I will gladly try that.
3D functions are important to me.
Thanks in advance for helpful replies

Try MX player from the playstore
And u can't flash the gingerbread rom because the Stock ICS hboot(1.53) it's not compatible with non ics rom,u need to downgrade our hboot to flash gingerbread, jellybean or kitkat roms

I have tried MX Player but could not work out how to force playback vids in 3D. So it was no use.

Any EVO3D owners on anything other than stock ICS here have L R view vertically
misaligned 3D mode overlay menus and choppy 1080p
SBS squished video playback?
The video here shows what I am finding... Thanks for watching.

I have hboot1.53 so I'll steer clear of a stock Gingerbread downgrade for now thanks
Glad to hear you dont have dropped frames for 1080p 3D playback in MX Player but how do you reliably engage the 3D screen, what ROM do you run and do you have the 3D overlay LR overlay being vertically misaligned like I showed at the end of my video?

Now i'm runnin 4.4.2 without 3D video playback, but try the yas4 rom ,it's very stable and fast,it's worked for me a half year perfectly

I now have 2 Evo3Ds, one on Stock ICS and one on Stock gingerbread. Both exhibit the same dropped frames for 3D 1080p playback and much the same problem of vertically maligned menu items in 3D apps. Although I found the camera app menus is lined up properly under gingerbread, but other apps are off by a couple of pixels. Annoying...
So I CONCLUDE that the evo3D ICS upgrade did not introduce these 2 issues... They existed in stock gingerbread too.

I think the HTC EVO 3D isn't able to play Full HD 3D video.
1: The display can't even reach HD resolution
2: The GPU isn't optimized for Full HD video
I've also tried to solve the problem with overclocking, but the only results were heat and a short battery life.
The only working workaround for me is using a video converter with 3D and downscaling support. There you have to decrease the resolution and the bitrate. After that you're able to play the video on your device.

LG Optimus 3d Guide apk??

Hey everyone...was looking at a video showing the 3d apps for the lg optimus 3d and wondered they could be ported over to the evo3d? The one in particular is called 3d guide...has a nice 3d ui that I'm surprised htc didn't have. Would be nice to see a 3d ui instead of the 2d standard android ui...thanks!

[Q] 2D to 3D player

Anyone know if there is a way or an App out there which would allow you to watch 3d movies much like the way Power DVD works on a 3D laptop?
I think this would be an amazing set up or App if there is one...
I know you can convert on a PC prior to moving it to your Phone thats not what I'm aiming at I'm looking for a player or something similar which allows you to watch a 3D movie on your SIM in 3D...
Thanks

I don't think there is one YET. Really hope that someone proves me wrong.

3D video uploading, downloading, and viewing!!!!!!!!!!!!

don't know if this has been posted yet but just an FYI, did you know that you can upload your 3D videos to Youtube in 3D!!!!!! When you upload them just put "yt3d" without the quotes, in the tag field. Then it will play in the Youtube 3D player, which also gives the option to view in 2D and different versions of 3D including using red/cyan glasses or even cross eyes. Also other EVO 3D users can view your videos from their phone in 3D automatically!!! Here is one that I did:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJUSdjuJblk
If you view that from your EVO 3D it will automatically play in 3D. And just another FYI, if you download the app Tubemate, and do a search for "yt3d" you can find all kinds of 3D videos even 3D movie trailers on Youtube and download them in HD 3D to your phone for offline viewing You can download Tubemate here:
http://devian7.iisweb.co.kr/download.jsp
I know that the default Android video uploader on the phone won't upload via the cell connection if it's over a certain size, it will say WAITING FOR WIFI, . . . . . HOWEVER.. if you use Opera Mobile, just log into your Youtube account and you can upload the files off your phone via your cell connection that way, works great, I get about a 90% or more successful upload rate.
Yep. It's pretty cool. Any 3D videos are actually automagically tagged with YT3D so you don't even need to add tags yourself.
If uploading from a desktop tags are
yt3d:enable=true
Unless they changed it with the new update
All I know is that when I don't add the tag, it doesn't play using the 3D player. And when I just add "yt3d" it does.
post your videos guys! I am uploading one now

I thought all this was well known before the evo3d even came out, at least it was to me.
3D video
This is a 3D video of 3D RC helicopter flying. I set up with trees in the back ground for a better 3D effect but was not pleased with the result. The video was added to a RC manufacturer's web site so they liked it.
I need advice to get better 3D effects

IKR, that looked like an amazing place to live.
I'm from Belo Horizonte city, in Brasil !
In fact i live in a two-story apartment with my parents, top floor.
I'll try to make another video, but's raining a lot these days...
And have you tried Phereo, for 3d pics sharing / viewing ?
Thats a cool and easy way of sharing it. Nice. Like it that you can choose different kinds of 3D.

Play in 3D not working

I'm using Virtuious ICS Rom and when I play a SBS video and press play in 3D it doesn't play in 3D
Is anyone else having this problem ?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using XDA
First off, one thread is enough: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646829
Second, it would help if you posted this in the ROM thread.
Third, are you sure the videos are in 3d and are the right format?
Yea realised I put it in the wrong forum so put it in here, feel free to delete it.
The videos are in SBS format when you select play in 3D it should combine the two

What about 3d cam. It still work?

I wonder if I rooted my phone to have a jelly bean. if i can still use 3d or had a one camera without 3d

Anything other than Sense 3.6, you can't use the 3D camera.
But, you can always use the regular 2D camera. The only case where no camera works is if the Rom is still at the first stages of development.
