[Q] Any ROMs? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Android General

Hello, I recently found a TP2 taking care of my dust and I was wondering if there are any Android ROMs for the phone. I know there are some, but I wanna know what's the ROM with the newest version of Android.
Thanks.

the newest android version you can get is 2.3.7 gingerbread
thanks to xdandroid
http://xdandroid.com/wiki/Main_Page
battery indicator is kinda broken and also my phone used to overheat.... alot. there's also the froyo build (2.2 version), which might be more stable.
you have to find out for yourself which one works the best.
there's also an android 4 rom, but lots of features are not working. check it out yourself.

Why do you say the wifi doesn't work? I've been using Android on my Rhodium since June 2012 and I don't have problems with wifi--bluetooth, yes, but not wifi.
What makes you say it doesn't work? Is it not showing any wireless networks?
what version of the rhodium do you have? RHOD100? RHOD400? I have a RHOD400, and the devs are also using RHOD400's. They don't guarantee complete functionality on non-RHOD400's (that's actually mentioned somewhat by wizardknight at the end of post #1 of the GBX0* thread that wizardknight linked above

Hello, I too am having lots of troubles with finding a ROM that will work on my RHOD300. I started the whole install with a GBX_3.4.35_Full, then the GBX_3.4.26.13_FULL then the OMGB 1.2.3 May 4 and finally the OMGB Jan 16, and all of them have given me a non-working wi-fi. When I enable the bluetooth it actually turns on ok.
I've been using my HTC TP2 for 4 years as a WinMO phone and finally decided that I'd give this Android thing a try. The wi-fi has been working for me all along.
When I first installed the GBX it was giving me Wi-Fi error (viewing in Wireless & network settings). After I switched to the OMGB ROM I'm now getting a Wi-Fi turning on... and the option is grayed out.
I've been searching around and reading through these forums and I'm trying to find solutions, but nothing seems to work. The wifi-nvram-generic.txt file option I wish I could try but unfortunately I don't know the phones mac address without booting back into a WinMo phone.
I would be grateful if somebody could help me sort this out as I really do need to have wifi on my phone, otherwise my smart phone isn't so smart after all...

I've taken my RHOD100 out of the dust, and fired it up to NAND flash it with te 2.3.7 xda ROM. I used the GBX0*+3.4.26.13 Full for my device. Although it's not very snappy, it's acceptable after recalibrating the touch screen. Don't expect miracles. Wifi is working fine. Haven't tested BT yet.
The 3.4.35 version did boot a bit, but didn't get past the bootscreen, which seemed to be in an unending loop.
I doubt the GPS is working.. GPS test didn't get a fix in 15 minutes and did not see any satelites. Also no support for front camera... but hey.. who cares

Nexxvision ROM & Telenav Issues???

Good evening all. I have flashed my Mogul succesfully with Nexxvisions ROM (thanks to him as well as DCD and Dogguy) and I have been running for about a week and a half and have had no difficulties. So I have been showing off to my collegues about how grreat my phone is and of course I get requests to flash their phones. So I flash three phones (against my better judgement) and within 24 hours 2 of them are having the same exact issues. They said they did a soft reset while attached to the charger, and when the unit reboots it freezes. The only way to get out of it, is to reboot and quickly go into comm mngr and go into airplane mode. Once they got out of airplane mode, the phone would go back to normal. This is odd, because as I stated, I have had no trouble in almost 2 weeks. Now I was thinking what is different about my unit and theirs, and then I realized that they are both using the ATT version of Telenavand Im not. So my question is, has anyone else had trouble with their Mogul like the issues I explained above.
I had the same issue with GPS today plugin, i had to remove the program to get it to work right again. I am not currently using the nexxvision rom but i am using a rom based on dcd 2.2.0.

Cool. I'll try that new one. GPS today seems like a cool app. Anyone having issues with Telenav though?

no prevalence of Android ROM activity here - why?

i have a Vogue but my brother has the Raphael (Sprint) - just curious as to why there is no Android activity going on here for this device? i keep showing him the latest Android builds i'm playing with for my device but none setup for the Touch Pro...?
just curious if someone could enlighten me.... anyone here running an Android build via Nand on the Raphael?

Not that I am aware of (I could be wrong on this one though since I haven't been around the Android for Raph in a while). However, there are builds for the Herman to run out of SD card. Look for them in the GSM forum of the Raphael. There are a few threads in there that point to the main project website, which has everything to run Android in this device. Last I checked, it wasn't that stable though...
Good luck!
I been running the enclair 2.1 and its working ok. I got data to work and using the internet. Also Market works good too, downloading and using it is not a problem for me. Phone works and sms works. Check www.ppcgeeks.com they have more info there for the raph 800. I think there are some new builds, check them out.

look here. it's coming along great. it is booting of the sd card and you have to make a call before you boot it to get the mic to work but it's more stable than winmo imo.
i have been running since lastnight and am loving it. pretty much everything but the camera/gps/bluetooth is working. data, wifi, talk, text, all going strong. tons of info in the link i posted. good luck!
Try PPCGeeks for the CDMA Touch Pro (Raph800)

I agree, try this site out. This is for the development of our specific Touch Pro's (CDMA). Almost everything is working, BT and GPS are the last two left. However, GPS works with Cell Towers because mine works, a little less acurate from what ive been told but good nonetheless...
One of the things that is not working is MMS ... on the sprint version.. besides that gps and BT like it was said..
love it but can't use it for more than 3 hours without charging so until the battery life improve I can't see it suitable for daily use

[Q] Any GB Roms for Vibrant with working GPS?

Hi all,
Has anyone found any GB ROMs with working GPS? I was contemplating doing the hardware GPS fix for the vibrant, but I've been wondering if that would be enough to get the GPS working on GB ROMs. I sound like a total noob, I know, but any help here would be greatly appreciated. Froyo ROMs are great on the Vibrant but I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I think most of them are nearing the end of their development. Thanks everyone.

Well the hardware doesn't seem to be the problem. It is the lack of GPS files from a leak. With froyo we had a leak very early on so this was never a problem.
Yesterday devs found a leak (on samfirmware) for the galaxy s 4g (GPS chip identical to vibrant) that helped them to create a functioning GPS on gingerbread oon our phone.
You can switch to any JVB rom and flash the GPS fix and follow instructions from there to have a a functional gingerbread rom. There are a few problems, like that you can't turn the GPS off and on and it still work. You have to reboot to get it to lock on again. Also some people were reporting that their compass was switched around. But you and I can probably assume that that will be fixed in the near future. Hope I could help

Theres a fix in the works from birgertime on the development board. Only for JVP roms though it looks like.

I believe it's still in the work. Hopefully soon.
If you can't live without GPS, then don't switch over to a 2.3 base yet.

Hi,
the ROM indeed great, but I have a problem with the GPS.
it works for me only the first time after a reboot.
the 2nd, 3rd attempt etc. dont lock.
I do not know if I have to change anything in the LBS conf, and I cannot reply in the development forum cause I am new.
anyone had a similar problem?
//Morris
You don't need to change anything. Most of these gingerbread ROMs that have GPS working mention the fact there is a bug. The GPS works, but you can't get it to work again without rebooting if you turn it off.

Hi,
I understand I have the keep the GPS always turned (at least the option marked as on)
my problem is with my Sat Nav app.
it locks fast for the first time, but doesn't anymore after I close the app and start it again (even after a few minutes).
On the revolution rom which I like I can't get a gps lock at all no matter reboots or anything

[Q] GPS Broken Broken

Hello well not sure but I think my GPS is "broken broken" like maybe something hardware related but just wanna to check with you guys first instead of doing anything drastic.
I think I first noticed when i was on a build of trigger(cm based) that the GPS kept searching for location and unscessfully tried the CM7 GPS script. I then just decided to Odin back to stock and getting the same results GPS wise. I also tried Nandroiding back to a ROM that knew GPS worked when i use to use it(toxic w7 clone) but still no luck. Also worth noting that while on Stock Odin I tried some different Market based GPS fixes(GPS Restore GPS Aids).
Any help would be appreicated thx
some people have working gps, some dont. mine kind of works but it takes forever to lock.

Did your GPS work in the past?
I used a 2.2 build of Trigger a little bit back, and it did the same thing to my phone. I have a "fixed" hardware GPS antenna (since I did the FFC mod, fixing the GPS at the same time was a piece of cake), so when I suddenly couldn't get any GPS signal, I knew something was most definitely up. I tried the sgps "fixes" to no avail.
Eventually I flashed CM7 (since gps wasn't working either way, at that point), then Odin'd to stock, then flashed Bionix 1.3.1, and suddenly at some point it fixed itself. Now my GPS is back to working on CM7, as well as 2.2 roms.
So, if your GPS used to work fine, there was something software-wise which screwed it up.
Do yourself a favor and call TMobile. Tell them that your GPS doesn't work and you'd like a replacement. Do it three times and get a completely different phone for free.
The Vibrant is a POS at best.

Yeah this what I meant by drastic but probably my only real solution, wonder how that works though im pretty sure I'm paying for some replacement/warranty but that's only if they find out it is broken or defective right?
So glad i bought a Vibrant for my birthday as my 1st smartphone
Well I think I made some progress here, I Odin back to Eclair and to Bionix. GPS still wasn't working but GPS Test shows that there are some Satellites "in view" but not "in use" weird...

[Q] CM 10 with JellyBeanMod GPS Issues

Hi everybody. I have been reading many of the posts here over the past 6 months and trying to learn as much as I can about different ROMs and issues related to my particular phone which is the Samsung Epic 4G Touch.
Thanks Exit_Only for your helpful work in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975379. In that thread Sydius 08 asked "How are the Stable 1 tweaks running for you guys? Running CM10 11/18 nightly" I would like to focus on one aspect of that.
First I am currently running cm-10-20121117-UNOFFICIAL-d710 with gapps-jb-20121011-signed. I had installed JellyBeanMod_Stable-One_EO in hopes that it would resolve my long-standing GPS issue. I have read so many threads and I do appreciate all of the comments and attempted fixes by this community. I also use GPS Status and GPS Essentials where I see zero satellites but saw eight or nine instantly with #3 below. Here are the three times when my GPS has worked:
1) When I first got it just over a year ago. It was running Gingerbread 2.3.x (don't remember the last number but think it was 1). It worked perfectly but stopped after about 2 months and worked on and off after that.
2) After the GPS completely stopped working I started learning all I could about using a custom ROM. I tried CyanogenMod 9 but it did not resolve the issue. There's more to the story and more ROMs and tips provided here that I tried but all failed. However, whenever I Odin back to StockCWM-EL26.tar it works perfectly. I followed the tip about getting a fix prior to putting an ICS or JB ROM on.
3) I installed this on 11/15 http://sbrissen.chris41g.org/sbrissen-ALPHA6.zip and my GPS worked perfectly. However, lots of other apps failed miserably and it kept freezing up.
So here I am with nowhere else to turn. This latest CM 10 works perfectly EXCEPT the GPS. I would appreciate any thoughts on this.
i'm sure someone will mention this, but have you attempted to acquire a GPS lock on a stock ROM, for example, and revert to one of your desired ROMs?

Thank you. I had actually tried that one and ran into a problem with flashing it but I think that's because I didn't go back to StockCWM-EL26.tar first. I might give it a try again. I do love CM 10 and it would be perfect if the GPS worked.
For those who may not know this guy, QBKing77, is one of the best at teaching how to do this. Here is one for the SGIII and the Blazer ROM which he considers one of his favorites. I had to remove the link because I'm such a newbie. Here is the YouTube description: Blazer Rom on the Samsung Galaxy S III [REVIEW]

yep. this is the same method i used to fix my friend's GPS issue on a jelly bean ROM. after seeing to it that i was getting a GPS lock on the stock ROM, i went back into recovery, and flashed the ROM she wanted (paranoid android i think it was)... since then, she's been a happy camper locking into 7-9 satellites indoors
Great news! I was able to resolve this issue by following Qbking's YouTube tutorial: "How to Temporary Boot Stock EL29 on the Samsung Epic 4G Touch." I was able to lock on to 9 satellites and get a fix on my exact location. It was literally showing me in front of the building where I was standing.
I hope this helps someone else who might be going through the same problem with their GPS on an E4GT. If someone could post this information and possibly the link to the thread I referenced earlier I would appreciate it.
Thank you everyone for your comments.
