Hello, I have a huge problem with the ZTE v987 which I've bought from a Chinese purveyor.
I have installed on it:
V987 Android 4.2.1 V2.0MOD by BM, after that the 3rd and 4th version also. Now I have ROM BM 4. Noone solved my problem.
The phone is manufactured August 2013. It works good with 3G also, modem works in mode H or H+. I have tried 3 networks in my country and it works, anyway there is a network in my country which has voice/messages disabled and has roaming for data, the network is only for data service, no voice/message, this network works on my huawei and it works also on another v987 (probably version with another "baseband", I guess)
My V987 cannot connect to the network.
I have made a log from logcat
logcat -b radio -v threadtime *:V
There is that log:
paste.ubuntu.com/6819394/
The radio had been disabled, I had enabled it, the v987 tried to connect and failed
The network is called "FullName is Aero2", numeric "mccmnc = 26017, pnn = Aero2'
For comparison
There is a log from connecting to the network
[GsmSST0] long: Plus short: Plus numeric: 26001
full success, and the phone can works on 3g h+ mode, above 9mbit/s works
paste.ubuntu.com/6819381/
Ask any question if you want.
PS I know that this is advanced problem but I cannot post on proper part of this forum for developers.

I installed Ubuntu Touch about 2 months ago on my Nexus 4 following these instructions:
developer.ubuntu.com/en/start/ubuntu-for-devices/installing-ubuntu-for-devices/
I unlocked my device and connected it to the computer and installed using the following command:
Code:
ubuntu-device-flash --channel=ubuntu-touch/ubuntu-rtm/14.09 --bootstrap
Everything has been working fine until Monday afternoon when I restarted the phone and could no longer connect to my cellular network. I am using WIND Mobile and I live in Toronto.
In the network settings under the cellular section, where it would display the network name and connection strength, instead it just says "Denied" with a blank connection status (or 0 bars of connectivity; the triangle outline).
I have tried restarting and powering off, and leaving the phone off for a day, etc. nothing has seemed to work. I swapped out SIM cards with my Mom who is with Fido and her sim card connects to her network perfectly.
I also tried my house-mates SIM (he is with Koodo) and he got the same thing, his network is Denied.
I have also tried my WIND sim card in other phones and it has no issue connecting to my network.
I know that Koodo, WIND, Mobilicity, etc. use the same range of frequencies to connect
And that Bell, Rogers, Fido use a different range of frequencies.
It seems that a recent update or something for Ubuntu Touch has given it an error in connecting to the frequency ranges for Koodo/WIND/etc. while the frequencies for the big wig companies are unaffected.
What can I do about this? My ubuntu phone has become unusable.
Code:
[email protected]:~$ system-image-cli -i
current build number: 12
device name: mako
channel: ubuntu-touch/ubuntu-rtm/14.09
last update: 1969-12-31
version version: 12
version ubuntu: 20141218
version device: 20141119
version custom: mako-1.1
My phone says it is up to date. Please let me know if I can provide any more information or how I can troubleshoot this issue. Thanks.
Try the following:
1) adb shell into your device
2) Run
Code:
sudo stop urfkill
sudo rm /var/lib/urfkill/saved-states
sudo reboot
Please let me know if it worked.
Edit: was having an issue with adb shell but did not realize I needed developer mode enabled on the ubuntu phone. I thought it was just in android that developer mode was required. I enabled developer mode and got adb shell working correctly.
Sadly I tried the commands you recommended and it did not resolve the problem. When I boot the phone it spends a few seconds searching for my mobile network and then says denied.
Thank you for the help. I have been without a phone for almost a week.
While working with the guys in the #ubuntu-touch freenode irc channel I eventually flashed my Nexus 4 back to android and connected to my mobile network. The Ubuntu Touch guys believe this caused a radio fw update. I was then able to reflash and reinstall the latest stable version of Ubuntu Touch and reconnect to my mobile network. Definitely not an ideal situation but at least I am connected again and I don't have to use Android or iOS.
Great that you eventually got it fixed!
Hi everybody!
I'm using a SGS III SHV-E210S (Korean LTE) running the official 4.4.4 KitKat ROM. I have been able to connect to the 2G network in my country in Africa since I got this phone. However, all the mobile networks here changed to 3G a few weeks ago, and since I have been unable to connect to the data network.
The only way I have been able to have my data connection working is by changing the network mode in the Hidden Menu from default "LTE 850 Preferred" to "GSM ALL", but this only gives me access to the slower 2G connection. All other options show 3G but the phone has no Internet connection.
I thought maybe be it could be a baseband incompatibility issue in the stock 4.4.4 firmware? So I tried flashing the modem for 4.3 on to my phone but no success with that either. Is there any fix available for this problem?? Any links where I can get it as well will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Peace
Hey guys, recently I've got an Alpha SM-G850A which is for AT&T. I live in Iran and the phone has been unlocked to work here, I was trying to get the Android Lollipop 5.0.2 for my phone. so first I tried to get the update from AT&T software update by phone, but it says that there seems to be no updates available for me, nevertheless on the net the guys claim that they've got the update, is it due to my location in Iran and my internet IP? (I used VPN too but again, no updates). I tried to get the firmware from Sammobile.com too, but there were no firmwares detected for SM-G850A. Can someone help please?:good::good:
BTW, I've got the cellular data from my operator, and it works, but I can't select which type I wanna use (2G, 3G or 4G). I mean there's no options in the phone settings to select the data connection type. NEED HELP!

Even tho the phone is working on other networks you will still need an at&t sim card to update it. There is no way around this as far as i know.
Type below code in dialer and select Device information. Now, if you scroll down you will have the option to change network type.
Code:
*#*#4636#*#*
Hi, I downloaded and installed Lineage ROM, everything was working fine but I found that I was not able to send text messages (receiving messages was okay), I tried change values under test menu (*#*#4636#*#*) but problem persist.
I tried clean installation of new ROM (Aosp).
I tried install new firmware from:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../firmware-xiaomi-redmi-note-5-5-plus-t3759683
And baseband from :
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746163614322262750
And finally, text messages are OK, unfortunately I am not able connect to 4G/ LTE networks now. Only 2G and 3G networks are working. LTE services were working without problem on original Miui and Lineage ROM.
Can someone try help me how solve it ? I would really appreciate any ideas.
Do you think this can help?

Thanks in advance and happy weekend
i have the same question! +1
I tried fresh install original MIUI ROM, but it did not help
http://en.miui.com/getrom-340.html?m=yes&mobile=2 .
LTE is not available still.
I did not try this method still: https://androidfilebox.com/app/redmi-5-plus-modem-firmware/
But I don't have another option I guess.
With LTE no Problems = https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5/development/rom-omnirom-t3823189
Unfortunately LTE is not working on this ROM (Omni) for me too, but I expected it, because as I wrote I tried original MIUI as well. It's problem of wrong firmware, baseband, modem or something, because hard reset or flashing new rom don't fix it. Btw, this morning I was in big city in my country and my phone was able connect to LTE, but it was 1800 or 2100 MHz, which are available only in bigger cities. When I came back to home, it showing only H+ again. It seems my phone is not able to connect only to LTE on 800 MHz (B20) currently, which is most widespread LTE frequency in my country and this one is only available one in my location. And I was able connect to this network before. Unfortunately I don't know how I can bring it back.
Solved.
My friend share her .xqcn file with me (she has same phone) so I flashed modem file via QPST Flash Tool to my device. Xiaomi started receiving LTE in my location- B20 frequency band, unfortunatelly it was continuously connecting and disconnecting between "no signal" and 4G.
The next step was flash MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 8.8.9 to my phone via Miflash. LTE seems be stable and fully working now.
Hello !
I currently have a Oneplus X with an unofficial build of LineageOS 16.0 (Android 9)
The problem i have is that i can't manually change the mobile network
I live in between France and Germany and i want to connect to the french network, but i'm currently
stuck on the German network (Roaming mode with bad data connection)
Now I want to disable automatic selection of networks but it prompts me with : "couldn't find networks. Try again"
I tried everything even wiping + updating the rom still stuck.
I suspect that there is a file somewhere that sets the native network as the german one,
if someone could tell me which one is it, so i can edit it.
Thanks !
Did you find a solution?
