The main thread for discussing unlocking the bootloader is here. Check the last few pages of it at least. You'll need a special piece of hardware. Maybe just take it to a mobile phone repair shop and ask them to do it :good:

I would rather pay for the box than pay one of those shops to do anything. (There are hundreds in the city I live in and all but one are a complete waste of space.)
Either the Infinity Best Dongle or Cyclone box can do it.

[Q] viable paid method to unlock xperia x10 ?

hi guys
yes, i know it has been asked for a million time but everything i find in the forums is ambigous , so i`m going to ask too.
is there any way to unlock xperia x10 ? i am willing to pay around 20 dollars in order to achieve an unlock.
i read ppl posting websites but i dont know if any are to trust.
Anyone outhere who actually achieved unlock for their xperia willing to share experience ?
device is xperia x10i , i have no idea on what network is locked to, might be sfr france. thx for your help !
just now maxfron released 10 codes for free.
check out x10 general-> free all SE unlocking + extras-> page 13 for username and password.
go to www.x10unlocked.com and download software.
you might be lucky if one acc. is not used

is there a method to unlock the damned phone ?
i'm not sure if i can post the website's url, but i used htccode (if you do a search for that and x10, you'll come across the forum with instructions).
however, their prices are now a boggling 50$ to unlock.
if i was in your shoes, i would try to find out 100% who the phone is locked to (I don't know how besides trying multiple sims) and call up their customer service to get the unlock code. i think the most expensive it could be is if it was locked to orange France (where i think the unlock is 25 euros)

[Q] Where can I go to fix my SIII in London? efs/imei problem

Hi Guys..
I've tried all methods but I can't fix my SIII international version. Basically flashed incorrectly without saving the efs folder.
Anyway.. I've taken in to a few shops but none can fix it. I need a shop which is more knowledgable about this.
Can anyone recommend somewhere to take my phone in?
Many thanks
The phone still in warranty?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
No warranty
Just about any phone store on any block can do it. Stay away from the official Samsung centers for this.
Try this method, since you're still under warranty, go into a shop and tell them your phone is not making calls anymore. If they don't recognize the problem is the efs, they might just replace the whole mobo for you.
I have tried some stores near Oxford Street, London but none of them know how to do it.
It has no warranty, so I can't take it in to Samsung.
What would be great is if someone could recommend a reliable store to take it in.
I don't know any stores in London. But be careful, the cost of repairing efs will vary widely. Try looking for a place that'll do it for around 20 euros or so. Some places try to charge over 100.
---------- Post added at 07:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:31 AM ----------
Also, when you go in tell them you need to restore the IMEI, not the efs. Some people have no idea what the efs is but everyone knows what the IMEI is.

It is just a matter of flashing a Samsung Stock ROM to get back your IMEI/EFS, I have gone through the same problem but solved it on my own by reading this wonderful forum.
All you needed to do was to read up and follow the instruction on following thread, you could have saved that trip to the repair shop and learned a thing or two new stuff. This forum is full of knowledgeable folks who can solve most of the problems if you are willing to ask.

Learning a thing or two? Really. I'm an avid reader and user of xda forums and have never paid for any modification to any phone. I tried every method available and it all came down to either taking it back to Samsung or using more advanced cable tools which would have cost me more than the phone.
So please do not mis-inform. Some flashing problems can be solved with simple methods but mine was definitely not. I post my updates so that people with a similiar problem can find a solution.

Z3v root verification real or scam?

Can someone tell me if this is a legit root for the Verizon Sony Xperia Z3v?
http://www.how-to-root.club/mp3-0/sony-xperia-z3v-6796.html
or this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qH89pJLWfKg
Or is it all a scam? I tried looking for the first one through XDA cause they are claiming they rewrote the tutorial from XDA
It's a scam
First link, I just judge by what color ring my WOT icon is, and it's yellow. So no, not trusted.
Second link, look at how many dislikes compared to likes. So...nope! xD
If anything, someone who's notable would come out around these parts (on XDA) to make announcements that our phones is getting root with his/her proven work, that's where you should be getting from.
Edit: For the first link, you could even try navigating around the website. All of the links ends up back at that one page. Don't fall for stuff like this, trust in the true Lollipop update when it comes. lol

I don't know if it's a scam (will install malicious sw if you try it) or just someone who didn't know what they're talking about (regurgitated content that doesn't apply to us). First, z3v is not on the supported devices for the root process. Neither is the regular z3. As far as Lollipop, the instructions require an unlocked bootloader, which we don't have.
Wonder if one of those is the Ransomware that is going around? Install the malicious app and your phone is locked down until you pay a "ransom" to get it unlocked.

Yes it should work. This phone is Sim unlocked.
wondering
Is the xperia z3v better and faster than the xperia z3 !!
I really want to buy the xperia z3v ... and the xperia z3 !!! It's hard to choose. ...
help me please. ..
Well with you already being international I would recommend the Z3 with it being a global phone. I'm not certain which one would take advantage of your towers the easiest.
And with the international version, you get root and a two day battery life. Plus higher ISO sensitivity with your only drawbacks in pink circles appearing on your pictures and maybe faulty wrist straps that ruin waterproof.

also try different countries support email, in my home i was not successful, in Germany they gave it to me (though i asked prior deadline but received it two days after deadline)

So probably i sould waste at least 4€ to trying to get a code? All this because Honor has taken this stupid decision.
Btw somewhere i've read that Huawei has patched all backdoor used to get bootloader codes with these alternative ways.
Yes i've tried. I'm italian and first i've asked on Italian network, after on German network and they still wont give it to me.
1. i answered you how to get it
2. there was 2 months period before deadline everyone knew they will stop providing codes, so you either had plenty of time to get a code or not buy phone without this option if it's such issue for you

Because it's a TracFone branded device, and manufactured by TCL, I was reluctant to believe at first that this phone could be oem unlocked and rooted. After some research and chats with members here on XDA, I see that I was wrong. Amazingly, the A509DL can be unlocked and rooted.
Viva La Android said:
This phone cannot be rooted. It is currently not possible due to the perma-locked bootloader. Unless an exploit can be implemented to bypass the locked bootloader, rooting, flashing, modifying, etc., will not.ne possible on the TCL A509DL.

I am still looking for someone who can help me root this phone. It's a TCL A509DL. I should get another phone but now it's a matter of principle. I should be able to do on my phone what everyone else can do on their phone. It's horrible that I have to either buy a new one, beg someone to help me or pay someone to help me.
The software to root your phone can be found online free. First, unlocking the bootloader is required. MTK Client is the recommended tool for that job. After that, patching your boot image with Magisk and flashing it to the /boot partition will get you root. Do a search here on XDA for "TCL A509DL" and read over the device threads for the procedures. Once I get the free time I'll be posting a full rooting tutorial for this device.

Ninja Root is not required. I'm not saying that Ninja Root can't do the job because I'm not familiar with it, but I do know you can root the phone without it. Be very wary of any service that charges a fee for rooting. The Android OS embodies the spirit of open-source platforms and free use policy. I don't condone services that charge fees to root. I do realize that you made the initial offer to pay someone to root your device. You can easily open yourself up to being scammed by doing so. Just be cautious and use your intuition. Be patient. If nothing else, I will be writing up a tutorial when free time permits.
If you are referring to Sunshine by The Root Ninja, I am familiar with that software and it is legit. Again, I don't know its applicability to unlocking or rooting the A509DL, but I do know it is legit with unlocking many models of bootloader that are otherwise perma-locked.

Well, you are definitely learning on a device that is both unorthodox and rather complex to root. Most devices are a cake-walk compared to the TCL A3. This phone steps outside the bounds of a typical rooting strategy. Traditionally, TracFone branded devices have not been rootable. New innovations in bootloader unlocking methods have made this possible. I was unaware of these new methods until only recently. That is the reason I was previously incorrect in stating that the TCL A3 could not be rooted.
If all goes as planned, I will have time this coming week to post a rooting guide.
