Can someone upload the Flipfont application apk? Accidentally deleted it and i want to change fonts now.
lol I'm a bit confused myself...but why don't you just pull the settings.apk from a ROM or something...?
You know. It's been a really long time since I was on these forums. I used to come here before for winmo devices (5-6.1). Everyone was very helpful and understanding. What's with the accusatory tone? No intention of "lying" to you, just a misunderstanding on my part. I thought my request for the FlipFont apk was innocent enough, certainly not underhanded.
So I didn't uninstall FlipFont. Turns out the One Click Lag Fix causes custom fonts to not work. But the OCLF app includes a font installer. I thought Flipfont was broken, but it was the OCLF.
Sorry if I came off wrong. I intend to be helpful as much as possible. Don't let a couple users discourage you. ( yes, including myself) We all have our good and bad days¡! IMO as long as you have a legit question, we as a community should think before we post, and do our best to help...Hope you see this.

OCLF and Fonts
With all that being said... Have we found a way to install custom fonts with the OCLF applied? Mine currently shows 'an error occurred retrieving the option list'
However, on my girlfriend's phone, it shows a couple of the fonts that were installed.
Is there a correct and incorrect way to install fonts for tOCLF to see them?

Can someone please upload this app or post its location from where it can be pulled off one of your ROMs? Im an Epic user and would like to try and get it working on my phone, TIA!
It doesn't appear to be an app. It is part of the settings.apk. It is built into it. Just go to the dev section and download a rom and pull the settings.apk from it. It probably wont work on your epic.
Pull it/push it and let us know.
Just do a backup first.

Now let's please comment on the subject of the thread! No Hassle!
Since apparently BN is still changing framework.jar, I'm making a thread to allow separate updates/downloads. framework.jar for 1.0.0 is already in market hack/autonooter/autoconfig
1.0.0 - http://www.mediafire.com/?1wb78ollpb1bd78
1.0.1 - http://www.mediafire.com/?37fugab7xo8s3j3
This framework.jar helps you get an Android ID when you first run the Market. You can replace it with the stock version once your market is working if you want, but leaving it shouldn't cause any issues either.
Um, this thread is remarkably empty.
Thank you for your work!
Not having to generate ID's manually is better than awesome ...
What did you have to change in Framework.jar I know your hacked version works. I'd just like to understand why.

Google requests a valid phone ID and phone type when assigning an Android ID. Tablets tend to have neither, so Google doesn't assign an ID. It spoofs a valid phone type and ID so that Google is happy and will send you back an ID.

Thanks. That makes sense now.
Can somebody post the stock version of either of the two files from the OP? I'm trying to get this working on the eLocity tab and, since I'm no developer, I need to compare the two files to see what Clockworx change... and therefore, what I should try changing in our framework.
Thanks!

If you want to post your framework.jar, it would probably be faster.

Here it is if you want to take a shot.
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?dd9zif5h89ve7mz
I would back up your stock one and ensure you can restore it, just in case.
This might not be the place or already covered, but is it possible to make the big button in the notification bar not pop up the B&N Soft Buttons? I tend to hit that far too often.
Personally if it was gone, or did nothing, I'd be happy. I can launch the apps from ADW myself, they're all individual apps anyway.

clockworx,
can i replace framework.jar from slide_update.zip (BN 1.0.1) with yours
and also what i said in your other thread (supernooter) and then flash the ereader.
I am asking too many questions as i dont want to end up with an over sized 7" ice scraper...
I'm in the same spot as JeepFreak, but mine's a Cruz Reader.
If i upload the framework.jar can you mod it?
P.S. its Eclair-2.0 otherwise i'd try and use an existing copy off the web.

Are you using a custom firmware for it? I could have sworn someone had already done it for the CR over at Slatedroid. If not, feel free to upload and link.

We actually ended up getting the eLocity going without using the modified framework.jar.

nope, stock firmware, I've been trying to re-create the custom firmware that Velocity Micro made for it, but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what settings they used for the kernel config. I'd like to eventually roll my own firmware image and update the device to either Éclair-2.1 or Froyo-2.2, but that will be awhile.
Until just now I'd never heard of Slatedroid, so i wouldn't know if anyone has succeeded over there or not. I've tried searching using Yahoo, Google and others to no avail, so...
here's the framework.jar, pulled from the most recent firmware update
(version 091257)
'mediafire'/?c76hrb1awmtc4mq
sorry 'bout the link being butchered, I'm a new user and it won't let me post links.
thanks in advance
Edit:I found the post at Slatedroid, but he's using a modded Cruz 102/103 Tablet firmware with Éclair-2.1, and until I get my own rom cooked, I'm going to try and stay as 'stock' as possible. besides, i don't know if the Cruz 103 firmware will work on the reader.
On another note, would it be possible to pre-mod the file in question if you were building from source?
and if so, what modifications would need to be made?

I am working with others in another thread to determine why nootering the NC removes the access to B&N instore features.
We have been trying changes to the build.prop file but this does not seem to help. My thought is that something is changed in the framework.jar file that when instore B&N checks to see if the device is a NC. Is this a plausible thought? Can you share what lines in the hacked framework.jar are different that the stock NC framework.jar? Would it be possible to change these lines back to stock after nootering to gain access to the instore features?
Also, could changes in framework.jar also expalin why the market on NC does not have access to some apps?

Anything is possible since we don't know what they're doing, but it seems unlikely BN would check phone type and phone ID when on a regular nook they probably both return "invalid". Before you go through the trouble of investigating deeper, I suggest taking the engineering approach and change one variable: push back a stock framework.jar and see if the store works. If it does, then it's the framework.jar. If it doesn't, then it's something else.

No, that would be the fingerprint needed in build.prop, which I thought had already been solved and was part of Autonooter.

Thanks for the idea! Do you have or know where to find a stock framework.jar?
As for the fingerprint issue, we have tried returning the rooted NC fingerprint back to the stock fingerprint with no success. When replicating the stock build.prop file on a rooted NC, instore features still do not work and some apps are still not available in the market.
Is there something special about editing the images inside phone.apk?
Every time I edit them, it becomes unusable. Thankfully I have many back ups to choose from. I am on the latest leak of Team Perfections Rom. Any help would be appreciated.
Dont know why I even post questions in this area!

Maybe no one that has read your post has tried to edit that file. I used to do a little theming on HTC devices but haven't tried on a samsung yet. What do you mean by unuseable? That term is very broad. Did you resign the app?
Means it Force closes when making a call. Never sign system apk's. Push them using ADB.
It was the same for me on HTC phones. Hit and miss when editing images inside Phone.apk
Sorry, then I can't help. I always used Auto Sign to sign the apps first. Goodluck.
Hi, I have been looking through the internet and remove the warning message when turning on the GPS in stock rom 2.3.4 but can not find anything. Will you be able to help me? Thank you.

god damn how i would like to be mod here
sorry... i dont know this it :crying:
Well you guys like to rage... that's obvious, now since he is in the wrong section, thing he obviously didn't know. You could try to post a nice answer too...
I think it's possible to remove that warning message, but not in the stock ROM.
Just leave it on. GPS does not waste any battery until it is used by an app.
It is possible to remove this warning message as long as you are rooted. You just have to delete (or move to different directory) LearningClient.apk from /system/app. I haven't found any side effects of this.
well, I have the unlocked bootloader and am root, in its day remove all the system apps I did not like or did not use and replaced it with another of the same or better function, I'm really happy and to become my "rom ", but of course, if as you say to delete the app that controls the gps ... that would be a big problem, since it would be extremely difficult to find an app to control it properly and certainly not know what controls sony app. I think perhaps some xml file, but to know what is.
EDIT: WOOO rearly erasing app system learningClient.apk work this!!! THANK SO MUCH GUYS!!!!
Hi guys! :victory:
I'm new around here, nice to meet you all. This is my first post and I wasn't exactly sure where to ask this so feel free to point me in the right direction if you have a better place.
I'm sure this question has been asked time and time again, so I understand if this comes off as annoying or redundant, but I need some serious help here.
I'd like to start off by saying that I have no knowledge of Android development further than installing ROMs and working with Xposed framework, so please bear with me here.
I need to disguise an app. I have an APK file, and I would like to change the name and the icon, and if possible, somehow lock it. I tried using Hide it Pro, but it refused to actually lock the app. I need this done ASAP, and I'm willing to do all the research and work on my own, I just need pointed in the right direction. I made it so far as changing the icon and name using an APK editor, however I could not log into the app afterwards, and the icon changed itself back to the original.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
-Ryder
Quick edit here: This APK isn't for me, it is for my boyfriend, so I would need to test it and send it to him, and see if it works on his side.
