LOOKING FOR THE MINI-UPDATE THAT CAN BE FLASHED ON TOP OF TWEAKED 2.0?
Yes? Ok - then go to this post for information and download links
No? Ok - then read on... nothing to see here...
Hey everyone - resident no-one-in-particular here, and thanks to a few folks (@wally3614 and @itsmikeramsay in particular) I modified a few things to make my little mess of a project work a bit better for AT&T users. It needs to be stressed that this is based on the stock UVUBMI7 T-Mobile TouchWiz 4.3 that shipped with the N900T phone... In other words - this is a stock modified T-Mobile rom! That being said, I went through and made T-Mobile specific mods only show for TMo folks, as well as make sure mods work as they should for AT&T - including the removal of the Wifi Calling components.
This is still a work in progress, so even though I feel pretty confident that bugs (specifically related to the removal of wifi calling) have all been chased out, oddities may still come up - if they do please let me know! Also feel free to comment on how this might improve or if I've gone about anything in a not-so-smart way or if there is anything you would like to see (or wish wasn't there) - I can't promise I'll do anything about it, but such requests keep me motivated and learning, and thats been the driving force behind my tinkering since it began really
I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS (GOOD OR BAD) AS A RESULT OF FLASHING OR ATTEMPTING TO FLASH WHAT IS POSTED HERE!
Installation instructions:
THIS DOES NOT QUITE INSTALL THE SAME AS OTHER ROMS!!
Wut?!? I have to read then!?! NOO!!!!
LOL - well really you don't HAVE to read, only if you want to customize things outside of the default setup. This was an idea that I started using over on the Note2 (though I've changed what I consider "default" a bit), and given the lack of aroma capabilities while using safestrap it at least offers an approach that lets users customize things a bit. Another advantage (for those that like customizing a bit at install anyway) is that after an initial step - future re-flashes of the rom will always utilize the same selections (assuming you don't delete some files in a particular directory of course). This should be a boon to those that enjoy flashing this and that, as the process of reinstalling this will now be tailored to what you want. NOTE: Unless you use the default approach you will most likely need to edit/redo this process for each update to make sure all new/edited options are up-to-date! This isn't excessively relevant yet, but it will be soon enough I imagine.
A complete explanation of the customizable-install approach can be found in this post, but for the sake of brevity and simplicity I am going to focus on the approach most fitting to the general (or new-to-flashing) user.
Before getting into that though, remember that the usual rules still apply:
- While very much stable in my experience you should be cautious whenever you flash. Make sure to wipe data/factory reset to avoid issues.
- I highly recommend wiping data before getting started with any of this. This is just a recommendation - not a requirement - though if you have issues that is almost always one of the first recommended fixes.
- Tweaked needs to be flashed in a custom recovery - and thanks to the hardwork of @HashCode this can be done via his Safestrap that can be found here. Make sure to THANK HIM for this, as none of this would be possible without his work!
THE SUPER SIMPLE SAFE APPROACH
The super simple safe approach would be to just flash the main install zip. This will give you a default set of options, of which you have no control (at install anyway). For those that would like to tailor the install a bit, you'll need to check out this post for instructions. Basically there is a directory you need to place on your internal or external sd card, and inside that directory are files that can be edited to reflect the particulars you would like to be installed.
Below is what I would consider the general fits-whatever-install-approach-you-chose installation instructions:
THE GENERAL APPROACH
- Backup your current setup/data
- Decide which install route (default/custom) is best for you
- Download the main installer and put it on your internal/external sdcard
- If you decided on the custom install route
--- Download relevant zip for said approach
--- Extract directory inside zip and place it on internal/external sdcard as instructed
--- Edit install.prop and anything else required to reflect your install choices
- Boot into safestrap recovery thanks to Hashcode
- Recommended to wipe data/factory reset
- Select and install the main Tweaked rom .zip you put on your sdcard
SCREENSHOTS
While the theme is pretty much stock, I figured I would throw in a few screenshots that show a few minor things. If you want to see the screenshots (and they aren't already showing) just click the "CLICK TO SHOW CONTENT" (or "SPOILER") button!
Miscellaneous Notes:
- REMEMBER - Regardless of what install approach you use you can always use the Modificatinator to un/re/do virtually ANY of the options available to you in the main install! No need to reflash the whole rom!
Even if you don't use it right away, make sure to GRAB THE MODIFICATINATOR HERE NOW so you have it if you want it later!!
--- In order to use the modificatinator, you need to go through a process similar to the customizable install process mentioned above. In other words - you will need to edit a particular file (it's already in the .zip/directory used for the customizable install process) in a particular directory PRIOR to flashing the zip. If you do not, the zip will do nothing outside of wipe cache/dalvik-cache. See this post for more instructions on this.
- Updates that come after the initial release MAY also have a flash-update-only option - whether or not it does just depends on the specifics of the update. NOTE: Depending on what is updated, an update-only flashable may break things if you are themed! I will try to avoid this as much as possible, but all it takes is a minor edit to a framework-res.apk string (for example) to necessitate an overwriting of a file typically quite important for themers (resources.arsc) - just be mindful of this please
- You may notice that the main installer contains a few boot.img files. Given the locked bootloader status AT&T folks CANNOT use these! They are included here as they can be used for the TMo folks, and the goal was to make one installer zip that would work for both carriers. There is some logic included that should prevent you from accidentally flashing one of these from within the installer itself, but it is worth mentioning regardless.
- This is still pretty much an unthemed rom (if any would like to change this PLEASE let me know - a themer I am not!). There are a few changes done in SystemUI (the pulldown in particular) and framework-res (to allow for system-wide transparency options) - and the hope behind those changes (all thanks to @Alexia Whitehurst) was theme work would then be easier as a result. @wally3614 also made a few icons. Even so, this is primarily UVUBMI7 stock-themed - and this is reflective of the thinking behind the whole setup as being stock with some extra options. For those that like flashing various mods and what not, be wary - unless it specifies that it was made to work with Tweaked it likely will not.
Download links can be found further down.
Let me know if there are any suggestions/issues/etc. - also, feel free to stop by the IRC channel Alexia Whitehurst was so kind to make for all of this on freenode - #tweaked. If you don't have an IRC client you can always use their webchat interface here. Happy flashing!

---LIKE THEMES?---
Good! As time goes on hopefully there will be an increasing number of themes made SPECIFIC FOR TWEAKED! This will be good, as while there are a number of themes out there that would likely at least partly work ones made specifically for Tweaked will completely work! Below is a list of such themes for ease of reference!
I will update this list as new ones come out, so make sure to check back from time to time! Also - MAKE SURE TO THANK THEM! There aren't many who have done this, so make sure they know the work is appreciated!

FAQ
Q: What the hell is TSMParts (new option in Settings menu)?
A: A interface for a huge slew of mods and tweaks originally put together by the original members of TSM and inspired by impressive works of numerous others - the TSM Parts interface acts as a control for all of the customizable fun available. There are a large number of options there - so make sure to check them all out!
Q: TSMParts is asking for superuser access?!?
A: Yep - there are some options (one in particular under Miscellaneous settings) that will need it, so make sure you grant it!
Q: I'm having overlap issues with statusbar icons and center clock - what should I do?
A: Yeah - things may overlap, so you will have to either change settings to avoid the issue or just deal with it.
Q: I set a statusbar icon to hide, but it's still there. What gives?
A: The statusbar icon tweaks may require a little effort on your part for changes to take effect. All changes can be elicited with a reboot/hotboot, BUT for most there are other ways:
-- Bluetooth/vibrate-silent/alarm icons/ime -- just change their state (on/off or vibrate/sound, etc)
-- No sim -- if the notification is already active you will need to reboot/hotboot to hide it
-- smart "eye" icon -- changes will happen once the eye triggers
Q: How is battery life on this rom?
A: This is a stock modified rom. As such, battery life will be equivalent to stock were you to be running a similar array of apps and kernel - it really should be no different than stock otherwise (which imo is not half bad really). The kernel and misbehaving 3rd party apps have more to do with battery life than a modified stock rom - at least in my opinion (and experience, though it's limited).
Q: I keep getting messages saying FlashBarService had to close - WHY YOU MAKE BREAK ON THIS!?!
A: There are two ways I've seen this happen. The first is when someone has HUNDREDS of apps installed - and in that case it usually FCs once and is fine after that. The other time I see it is when a particular app is installed that just refuses to play nice with multiwindow or penwindow. In that case, if it can be chased down and isolated, you can add the package name into the fbs_exclusions.txt file in /system/etc/ and all should be well once again. Worst case scenario - disable unlimited penwindow apps and unlimited multiwindow apps and see if things improve. If so, use the pick-what-to-include types of apks and see if the situation improves.
Q: So tethering is a common topic... can it be done with this?
A: To be honest I am unsure as to how tethering will behave using AT&T as the carrier... there was an annoying upsell message that TMo folks would get that I tried to set up to avoid, but in theory tethering SHOULD work on this. I will update this once it has been confirmed by a few folks
Q: CRT/fade animation doesn't work in landscape... why?
A: I actually forced this to be the case, as I could not avoid an odd half-screen effect scenario that happened in landscape - which was the result of a hacky fix to FCs that occurred with those animations and rotation changes.
Q: When I toggle navbar on/off there sometimes is a black bar left at the bottom - CAN YOU MAKE IT STOP!?!
A: This only seems to happen when toggled via the power menu and appears to be specific to the TW launcher - and has an easy fix. Open up an app, like Messaging for example, and then close it. The wallpaper will resize and all is well once again
Q: Why isn't the accurate data icon mod working!!?!
A: The only time that mod shows an effect is when you are on the T-Mobile or AT&T network - I don't believe other networks will see a change in data icon behavior.
Q: After I flashed the 2.X update I can't see texts in Mms - WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME?
A: There may be instances where the default colors I point to in xmls don't jive with the bubble options you've selected, or have been edited based on the theme you are running. Seems like a good time to change the color of the text right?
Q: What is this LMT thing? How do you use it?
A: You need to check out noname81's thread here for info on that!
Q: Why don't you mention blah blah blah in your FAQ? It would have helped me a lot!
A: My bad - PM me anything you think should be added to this that would be helpful for the general user base!

How to custom install Tweaked
As I said, there are really two approaches to installing Tweaked:
----- DEFAULT -----
This is the approach used when one of two things has happened:
- 1) There was no preparation done or found as far as selecting options (i.e. no install.prop found where it should be on internal/external sdcard)
- 2) You are flashing an updated version of the main installer and failed to update your install.prop. Note that in this case your original install.prop can still be found, it just has a .bak added to the end of the file name.
This approach installs a set of default options that is slightly bloated but apparently covers all bases in terms of functionality.
When you flash the main installer zip as-is and it gives you a default setup after installation - you can opt to set up and flash the modificatinator (see downloads post here) - see the Modificatinator instructions below to learn how to set this up.
NOTE: For the custom approach please be aware that the process will likely need to be redone with new versions to make sure you have access to all available options!
I will try to keep changes to these files minimal, but changes are inevitable, so make sure to stay up-to-date with the version you are flashing, as otherise you will likely get the default install!
ALSO - with these approaches you can place the TweakedInstall directory on either the internal or external sdcard. That being said, in general if you have a TweakedInstall directory on BOTH your external AND internal sdcard, the files in the external sdcard directory will be chosen over those in the internal sdcard directory. Furthermore - it is VERY important that you DO NOT RENAME ANY OF THE FILES OR THE DIRECTORY! If you do you will likely get a default install when flashing the main installer (not the worst thing, but still).
----- CUSTOM -----
This approach requires changes you will have to do, and therefore needs a little reading and preparing ahead of time. In order to help things along, I've put together a zip file (see downloads post here) with instructions and needed files - make sure to read the... well, the README! The contents of that readme file are below:
--- From the READMEFIRST-INSTRUCTIONS.txt in the InstallInfoATT.zip file ---
#################################
# HOW TO CUSTOM INSTALL ON ATT: #
#################################
### NOTE: THE INSTALL.PROP EDITING DESCRIBED HERE ###
### NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO FLASHING THE ROM! ###
1) Decide if you will be editing text files on the computer or the phone
- regardless of where you do this, the result must go in a specific directory on your internal/external sdcard (see below)
- if you use a computer to edit, make sure it uses the Unix-style end-of-line character (you can use Notepad++ on a PC)
- Not all text editors work as you need them to if doing this on the phone - I have only tried it using the built-in text editor in Root Explorer
######## THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND A SOURCE FOR SIMPLE MISTAKES - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! ########
2) Extract the TweakedInstall folder (either on PC or extract it to the ROOT of your sdcard - internal OR external)
- Inside are five files - the main one of interest for installing is install.prop
3) Open install.prop using a text editor and read the instructions
- it is on this file you select options
- this is similar in idea to how aroma works
- ALL you are doing with this is changing the numbers that come after the = signs
- DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE! ONLY NUMBERS!
- Follow the instructions for what each number means for each choice
4) Complete any other OPTIONAL file edits per how you want to install
OPTIONS INCLUDE (these are for the more advanced users around - THEY ARE NOT NEEDED AND CAN BE IGNORED):
- If you opted to further debloat beyond available options and have set dangertweak to = 1
- edit the applist file with the apk name that you want removed
- ONE APK PER LINE
- see baseapplist.txt for a list of apk names that are included on /system as "default"
- If you opted to keep some pre-existing system files and have set savelist to = 1
- edit the savelist file with the full path to the file you want saved
- so for example if you wanted to save a script file called 02ForExample that was in the init.d folder, you would enter
/system/etc/init.d/02ForExample
into the savelist file
- ONE PATH PER LINE
5) Make sure the directory along with your newly-edited files are moved to your sdcard if not already
### IMPORTANT: THIS DIRECTORY HAS TO BE AT THE ROOT OF YOUR SDCARD (INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL)!! ###
### IMPORTANT: THE NAME OF THIS DIRECTORY MUST NOT CHANGE!! ###
### IMPORTANT: YOU ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!! ###
6) Boot into recovery and flash the Tweaked rom zip
TAKE HOME:
The edited install.prop file (and optional ones related to it) being kept in the TweakedInstall directory on your sdcard will make it so you won't need to do any choosing the next time you want to flash the main installer. You can always come back to or reflash Tweaked exactly how you have set it up with no extra effort!
######################################
# HOW TO USE MODIFICATINATOR ON ATT: #
######################################
### NOTE: THE MODIFY.PROP EDITING DESCRIBED HERE IS ###
### TO BE DONE WHEN WANTING TO MAKE CHANGES AFTER ###
### THE ROM HAS BEEN INSTALLED! THE EDITS NEEDS TO BE ###
### COMPLETED PRIOR TO FLASHING THE MODIFICATINATOR! ###
Ok, let's say you've installed the rom and made a few custom selections, or regret not making some in hindsight. You can - without reflashing the entire rom - just go through and install/uninstall the particular thing you want to change using the modificatinator zip. BUT - it also requires you to do edits SIMILAR (but NOT IDENTICAL) to those you made to the install.prop, however in this case you will be using the modify.prop file. If you followed the above instructions for preparing a custom install, the modify.prop will be in the same directory as your install.prop.
1) Decide if you will be editing the modify.prop on the computer or the phone
- regardless of where you do this, the result must go in the same specific directory on your internal/external sdcard that the other files mentioned above are in
- if you use a computer to edit, make sure it uses the Unix-style end-of-line character (you can use Notepad++ on a PC)
- Not all text editors work as you need them to if doing this on the phone - I have only tried it using the built-in text editor in Root Explorer
2) Open modify.prop using a text editor and read the instructions
- it is on this file you select options
- this is similar in idea to how aroma works
- ALL you are doing with this is changing the numbers that come after the = signs
- DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE! ONLY NUMBERS!
- Follow the instructions for what each number means for each choice. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THE NUMBERS MEAN!
4) Move the edited modify.prop to the proper directory (same one the install.prop is in) if not already
6) Boot into recovery and flash the modificatinator zip
TAKE HOME:
The edited modify.prop being kept in the TweakedInstall directory on your sdcard will need to be edited every time you want to use the modificatinator zip.
### WHEN EDITING TO MAKE A SELECTION MAKE SURE THAT ANY OPTIONS YOU HAD PREVIOUSLY SELECTED HAVE BEEN EDITED BACK TO "NO CHANGE" VALUES AS WELL!!! ###
--- End READMEFIRST-INSTRUCTIONS.txt -
The hope is that these instructions are as simple but as thorough as possible for those wanting to embark on the custom approach.

Howdy folks -
This is a first attempt at making things from one carrier work on another, but it seems to be working out so far. Please let me know if you have any issues or if any of the convoluted instructions I've laid out need some re-explaining. Hope folks enjoy, and apologies if you don't
EDIT: On the off chance that the above statement gets misinterpreted, when I say "This is a first attempt at making things from one carrier work on another,..." I do not mean in general - I mean that what I have posted here is my first attempt at such things. This is new territory for me is all I wanted the above statement to convey. Fwiw - I am never first at just about anything regarding android stuff lol - but in all seriousness I don't want anyone else's hard work to appear slighted by my above comment.

Very nice @dwitherell, now I'll go show all my buddies!

So glad this made it to our phones. Will be flashing tomorrow. Thanks to @dwitherell and @antiochasylum.

Sorry, forgot you did too! But yeah, it was all just a misunderstanding based on the context that was written. He's a cool guy!

There are several amazing things on this ROM. This Dev has helped several others with how to's on 4way boot and more. Tweaked plain out is the shizz. My personal favorite option ONLY found here is custom air command font color change

Like I said, it is all good. Tweaked and I sorted it out via PM. it was late and I mis read his post. Mistakes happen. Let's forget anything ever happened and enjoy the ROM he has brought to us!

This ROM has several options to read through. DEFINITELY MAKE SURE to see through all available options especially in TSM settings before just applying settings through your modules /gravitybox . wanam/

The install is SIMPLE I promise. Its just very detailed for people, and he has every aspect covered.

Good ROM. I like TSMParts since 2.3.6.
Thank you!

People shouldn't be. Install is no different. Just different if you wanna go the Aromish way...but FYI guys it's super easy. I'll be doing a full vid review on this ROM and -how to- by this weekend

NEW VERSION 2.30 of 26-June-2011 (+ CHTSLoco 1.10) - final versions
(changelogs see below & CHTSLoco-Thread)
Please consider: CHTS & Loco are in ONE .cab!
CHTS extends your CHT & Sense with much features. You can choose, which of this features you want to use and which not. Therefore some users called it as "Swiss Knife" for CHT.
Minimum Requirements:
CHT v2 -> CHT 2 - Thread
Before we start wie the details: Big Thanx to all people who helped for this Release - especially to our CHTS-Beta-Team!!!. Please look into "About"-Box for the Thank-You's and what they've done. We spent much night to make CHTS & CHTSLoco, that you get them in this advanced state, as they are.
Please consider: CHTS is provided as it is. It is tested by CHTS-Beta-Team, but that were not much people and it can't cover all kind of devices, ROMs, Sense-Version,additional Apps - so please help to improve CHTS because of your Feedbacks.
You get much more new Quicklinks for CHT, you can use a scheduled Wallpaper-Switcher, you can save your Sense-/CHT-Layout, you can profile your Device manually, by time of day or by your current location.
Just look below in this Post for the sections, which will tell you more about the main features. There are so many sub-features, that this can't be explained in a thread. Please consult for the start at best the -> QUICK Manual for CHTS <-
Also big Thanx to ebhoelzner for his great Sense SDK
Integrated Languages (sometimes not all translated) : English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, Slovak, Russian (thx to yaMoPkoBka for that!)
The other languages are to find in Post #3
Changelog 2.30 (and Loco 1.10) :
- Run Modes for a "light CHTS" You can define a Run Mode, which allows you, that you can use CHTS only for the things you personally need and the unused features will be invisible.
Light: Only Day&Night or manually mode, Wallpaper scheduling and simple Data switches
Average: Light + named Sub-profiles + Location event handling + Backlight-Settings
Advanced: Average + All Profiles + Layout switching with profile + ring modes + Execute/Kill Apps
Full: All Features (like former)
User defined: Define the single features for your personally needs
- Icon-Saving You can save/restore different icon-themes for your Layout or simply change them on-the-fly. So if you like Glass Icons in your Sparetime and solid icons at work... no problem. Thanx to osidacz for investigations
- CHT(E)-Saving You can save/restore only the settings, which are mostly the settings of CHTEditor, bit also the most important settings of CHT. Easy & Fast.
- Theme-Saving! Thanx to osiedacz & BHS Interceptor for this outstanding work to create the necessary new xml-files for that! Now there are more than 1000 files are saved, but quite fast restored. Use Theme saving, if you want to change between themes. Otherwise "Standard" is enough for your CHT Hometab.
- Profile copying You can copy each profile over another profile. So you can define one or more "Master Profiles" with much changes and can copy it to another profile for a quick&easy-configuration (you find it in General settings)
- Much more options for Audio-Switches:
-- mp3-files allowed now
-- restrict file list to maximum amount of items (20,50,100, unlimitted) for memory-weaker devices
-- restrict file lists to one or some of: .wav, .wma, .mp3
-- extended check if file really exists, also after deleting some things
- Automatic Audio mode You can not only use Silent, Normal, Vibrate - now also "Automatic", which silents device while entry in calendar. If this doesn't work, you can try MortScripts to toggle settings
- LocoReminder improved! You can add Reminders according to the Location.
It is quick accessible also by Quicklink.
... I think it's easy to understand... you will see
- EMail-Synchronisation by Profile Change improved.
- Improved Options for Wallpapers: . More Sizes and so on
- New Quicklinks: Save Layout, Restore Layout, Loco Reminder. For the full list of all Quicklinks look to Post #3: -->to List of all Quicklinks & Toggles<--
- Improved CHTS Layout-Logging - all files, which are not copied are logged together with the reason, why. Settings in Misc of Main Settings underneath usual CHTS-Logging. Also added Button to delete this Loggs older than 1 day. Logg-Files for Profile Switch are to find in <storage card>\_CHTScheduler\Logging\CHTS_RestoreSense
Fixed all known Bugs (e.g. in Location events) - thanx for the feedbacks and thanx to the great Beta-Group-Members!
- much more fixes and internal improvements. Too much to list all the single things.

Nevertheless you will find some more helpful informations, e.g. FAQs or hints for Widget-Creators or ROM-Cookers - here's the overview:
Inventory:
Post #2: Configuration Hints & FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
Post #3: Additional things: Quicklinks-List+Languages+Manuals
Post #4: Graphical AddOn's - CHTS-Icon-Sets
Post #5: Weather Wallpapers 9-/44pics
Post #6: For WIDGET-/Theme-Creators & ROM-Cooks (with Whitepaper)
So let's start with the main parts of CHTS:
Layout-Saving
You can save your current Layout or your whole Sense.
Baseline: This is the smallest thing - it simply saves the Sense-files of your ROM like a "Layout standard", but without Quicklinks
Layout standard: All items of your HomeTab, so also Widgets, Clocks, Quicklinks, Freelinks, Positions of all of them, configuration,...
Layout extended: All of Layout standard but also much more things of the other tabs, if the Skinner also has added an appropriate configuration-definition (as .xml-file). By Default e.g. the Weather-Animation-Icons are saved in extended
Sense-Saving: All of above, but also all Manila-Files! Therefore, that this is very big, it will be zipped on the fly by CHTS. So Saving doesn't needs much time. Restoring needs a bit more time, because CHTS has to compare each file, if this is already in ROM and has to intelligent restore the correct files. This is often called "Lifesaver" by the CHTS-Users.
Thanx to BHS Interceptor, who made fantastic xml-files, so that each Hometab, Widget, Links are saved in "standard" and also much improvements in Theme-Saving.
And sure: If you can save a Layout... you can switch it with each Profile... Just look to the next main point
Important Notes & Hints:
- After Flashing a new ROM, please make at least a new Baseline. CHTS will name this Baseline according to the name of your ROM
- Recommended also: Saving the whole Sense sometimes. So if something is messed up, then you can get mostly your Sense back = "Lifesaver". This can be the last chance of you before you have to do a Hard-Reset
- Before you add a new Skin or new Widget: Save you Layout (extended) - if something is wrong with the new Skin or Widget... you can easily fall back to the state before.
- With CHTSwitchGui you have access to all saved Baselines, Layouts, Themes and Full-Saved-Sense
- In "Beta-Mode" you can also save Themes, but this will be explained later.
Click to collapse
Switch Sense-/CHT-Layout
Compare with Layout saving: Each Layout cann be assigned to a profile and switched automatically with it. So you get the appropriate Layout according time or your current location. If you prefer manually - simply switch the Layout together with the Profile by Quicklink.
Important Notes & Hints:
- Please be careful especially if you switch Layouts by Location - not that Loco changes Location very often, because you haven't recorded all cells.
- Check, if Layout switching is working also while locked on your device. If not, set "Switch while locked" to off or activate at least "Switch while locked, but no Layout" in CHTS-Settings
Click to collapse
CHT-Quicklinks
much CHT-Quicklinks, which gives you the opportunity to directly set or control your Sense-/CHT-/CHTS-Settings.
So if you e.g. don't want, that your Device connects via GPRS, then simply activate the NoData-Switch. Or if you need Wifi-On-Standby, then you have a toggle for it. 3G-Only? No problem - use the Quicklink.
Also you can control the current states of your device by a short look to the state of the appropriate Quicklink.
Important Notes & Hints:
- the Links are a seperate .cab, which is also attached to this post. Please look into Installation-Hints in this Post.
- Some Toggles/Quicklinks needs an additional App, which is also linked inside the Installation-Hints.

Wallpaper-Scheduling
The Wallpaper-Changer was heavily extended against the previous version (see Changelog below). The Wallpaper-Scheduler is simple to configure and you can also make different settings for each Profile.
So as example: If you are at home or somewhere, then you can adjust Wallpaper-Scheduler to a low timeout, e.g. 10 minutes, if you are at work you can switch it to e.g. each 4 hours and at night you can switch it off. Therefore that all Porfiles can be manually or by time or by your current Location triggered - you can easy define, which Wallpaper-Scheduling you want.
But nevertheless: If you don't use any Profile-Switching, the Wallpaper-Changer reacts intelligent and battery-friendly. There is an interface together with CHT, which detects user-activity... and if you are inactive and your device is anyway not in use, the Wallpaper-Changer will wait, until you use it again.
You can define different directories for each part of Wallpapers, also you can choose, if the files shall be choosed randomly or alphabetically or by windows-sort (this is device-dependent: sometimes alphabetically, sometimes by date).
You can define filters, e.g. if you choose "grandma*.jpg" for AllTabs, then you should always see different Walls of your Grandma e.g. in your SMS-Tab (or the Grandmaster )
And also a nice feature: Wallpapers according to your Weather. Appropriate 9-/44-weather-wallpaper-packs are to find easily at xda-devs and some are also to find in the follwing Posts here in Thread.
Important Notes & Hints:
- Please make asure, that you defined in CHTS also the Default Wallpaper Directories, that your Quicklinks will work in each Profile, where you haven't defined a special directory for this profile
- Look for the size and dimension of the wallpaper-files. So if you use a directory for e.g. wide-walls, then they should be at best 960x800. Also the filesize should be according to the hints, which can be read in CHT-Thread for the Wallpapers
Click to collapse
CHT-/Sense-/System-Settings &-Tweaks
You can set many things for your different purposes. There you also don't need profiling in any way.
Just define Settings for one Profile (recommended "SaveMyDay" and let it run 24/7 in manually mode)
Just a list of the main (not all! there are more!) Key Feautures of a single Profile:
- Sense scheduling for each profile
-- update times for Weather, Stocks, QuickGPS,...
-- update times for new state Quicklinks of CHT
-- Proximity and more
- Data Scheduling
-- switch on/off/let-it-like-it-is for BT (visible & hidden), Wifi, GPRS, 2G/3G, Radio, Network, Flightmode, Phone
-- Special "Network" switch: Turn off your phone like in Flightmode, but no need for a PIN!!!
-- No Data! So you can diable GPRS for all apps inside a profile
-- Roaming detection and define actions for it, e.g. asking, switching Network on/off, No Data
-- Idle Timeout configurable on your needs in a profile
-- special useful features, e.g. like switching off GPRS, if you activate Wifi manually
- Backlight&Power Scheduling
-- Set Backlight for each profile different. This saves much Energy!
-- Set timeouts, when display shall go off
-- Set timeouts, when device shall be suspended
-- more...
- Assigning Layouts to different profiles!
-- switch them to whatever profile which suits to your current wishes. At work you need Tasks and other quicklinks in front? no problem. In spare time your music player and a totally different outfit? it needs 10 seconds to change it
-- Combine it with all the other key features
- System Scheduling
-- Define Sound profile - normal, vibrate, muted (as expected)
-- independent setable System and Phone volume
-- adjusting InCall-Volume suitable to your needs in a profile
-- adjust Sound-file for Ringtone, Reminder, SMS, Email, Voicemail.
-- adjust popups for reminder & notification popup (no popup, vibrate, sound,...)
-- special settings, e.g. phone volume down if pickup, louder ring in pocket...
- Executing up to 3 apps
-- new Scripts by RoryB: MortScripts to toggle settings
-- easy to configure
-- computing .exe out of a .lnk to faster settings
-- executed after Sense Restart, if you changed the Layout in this profile.
-- also you are able to kill each executeable by defining it here.
- Configure 3rd-party-apps
-- Email-Scheduling for each Account, you have configured
-- service WMLongLife activation/deactivation
-- service MachCell / GPSMod activation/deactivation
-- Windows Live Synchronisation
-- ...more to come
Important Notes & Hints:
- Please have a look, that the settings doesn't interfere with any other 3rd-party-Apps.

Profile Switching
To close the circle: All things above can be assigned to different Profiles. Profiles can be switched manually (by Quicklink), timed (different for each day) or by Location (together with CHTSLoco).
So if you need vibrating Ring at Work, WiFi at home, Bluetooth somewhere,... and so on - simply configure it. In CHTS-Settings (and CHTSLoco-Settings) you can configure it according to your purposes. The most things are self-explaining - for further things, just consult the Quick-Manual or the whole Manual (which will be updated for the new features somewhen, too.. but nevertheless: Also in the older version of Main Manual the basic functionalities are explained good)
Important Notes & Hints:
- Please look into CHTS-Main-Settings for "Powering Device while Profile Switch", if this works for your device. At best, test Profile change while device suspended. If all is switched correctly, it's o.k.. Most recommended is "smooth" and "regular" powering
- If you have a quite "slow" device, then it could be good to set "Profile Change Delay Rate" to a higher (==slower) value, if some Settings are not applied.
- If you want to change your Profile also while locked, please prefer "Change Profile while locked, but no Layout", if you also want to switch a Layout with this Profile. Much devices are not able to change their Sense-Layout, while they are locked.

Configuration
The Configuration Hints for MachCell, WMLongLife, Windows Live and the most important CHTS are to find in Post #2 due to a better overview.

How timed configuration for Profile switching of CHTS works is well explained in Main Manual!
How you can access single features of CHTS is explained in Quick Manual!
Generally
Some explainations of the basic functions to understand (please also read FAQs) in following posts) :
Manually Scheduling:
You can switch your Profile - if you want - by CHTSwitchGui or by Quicklink.
If you need for a special space of time another Profile - you will find in CHTSSwitchGui the options for "timeouted" mode, where you can e.g. switch for 2 hours to "SpareTime" and then CHTS shall automatically revert back to manually mode and "SaveMyDay"
Timed scheduling:
1. Manually mode: You have all in your hand. You can see in CHT which profile is active. switch it by Quicklinks or CHTSwitchGui
2. Timeouted mode: You are in a meeting - then you can define a timeout by setting the timeout time or by Date&time and define, to
which mode or profile should CHTS turn afterwards
3. Automatically mode: An easy, intuitive way, you can define your personal rhythm of your day - no need to be think about overlapping times - for each day seperately and fingerfriendly configurable. Please read chapter 4 in manual to learn more.
Location Switching:
This is a new menu-point in CHTS. You can assign a Profile to a CHTSLoco-Location. If Location changes, the Profile changes according to your settings:
-- In assigned Loc no Time Switch: If you are in a Location, which you have assigned to a profile, then CHTS would ignore the timed switch. So you can move where you want also if it wouldn't suit to the timed profile - as long as the Location is known, you will always get the suitable profile
-- ...except in/out of GoodNite: This belongs to " In assigned Loc no Time Switch" - and simply means: If CHTS should activate GoodNite or get out of GoodNite by Time, this switch is made also if all other time switches are ignored because of the assigned Location.
Sounds difficult, ey? But it isn't. It's only not easy to explain for me. The GoodNite-Thing simply makes asure, that you define your Sleep Time and this is mostly in a known location... But mostly the wrong profile to sleep.... and perhaps you don't want location changes while sleeping (e.g. if cells are togglings).
So define your typical minimum sleep time and disable loco changes in GoodNite... and your Smartphone is sleeping with you
-- Time profile in unassigned Loc: If Location is not assigned to a profile (but known), CHTS will switch to the timed profile. If this is off, CHTS does no change in unassigned locations
-- Time profile in unknown Loc: If Location is unknown (mostly marked with a "?") - CHTS will use the timed profile.
The rest is explained in CHTSLoco-Thread. Please keep in mind: What you configure in Loco is used by CHTS to switch profile, if you assigned it. So at best: Don't assign too much profiles at the beginning and observe, if Loco is switching fine your Location and all Cells for one Location are good recorded.
Then look, if the above mentioned Settings are ok. Then begin to assign more Profiles to the Locations.
Therefore that Loco is the only App, which I know, which is able for personal-indoor-location-identification: Please check the possibilities, and what you really need for Profile switching and which Locations are more for Fun.
So e.g. you can identify your Kitchen, Bathroom, Living Room seperately by Loco - but I would assign the same Profile to all of them - otherwise you will get Profile switches very often if you run around your habitation with your device
*click on pic to resize*
So - all together I hope, you think it's useful with its features. Just keep in mind: Each feature can be "single-applied" - so if you need only a Wall-Changer or some Quicklinks or a special configuration for Sense+CHT - then only use this..
Have Fun

#2 FAQs & Configuration
Configuration
There are some additional Apps and also some Hints for configuration - collected here. Please also look into FAQs for more.
MachCell / GPSMod (thanx to Mach2003 for this great well-developed App and his help!) :
Download+Thread here: *GPSMod/MachCell*
If you already use MachCell / GPSMod, please only make assure, that also Cell-Location is switched on
If you are new to GPSMod:
- CHTSLoco is compatible to 3.20 and 3.40-Release
- configure your GPS like explained in GPSMod-Thread. You don't need GPS itself - but it should be correct configured.
- Go to Left-Soft-Key-MENU -> Extras:
-- Enable "Service is Running Now"
-- Enable "Enable Cell Service"
-- All other options are not necessary to be switched on for CHTSLoco 1.00
-- Click Button "ReStart Service"
- Open CHTSLoco, go to general Settings and switch Cell-Localization-way to "CDMA with MachCell-Service" or "GSM with MachCell-Service"
To be compatible with the offical Release, Loco only uses the Tower-Number, not country-code. So you see in Loco only "xxx-xxxx-<number>". You can also use newer Beta-Versions of MachCell/GPS-Mod. Loco is developed as seperate App, so it can be updated independent from CHTS. Nevertheless only Loco communicates with CHTS, so an update of MachCell doesn't concern the Localization Assignments of CHTS.
WMLongLife (thanx to chainfire for permission) :
Download+Thread here: *WMLongLife*
If you already use WMLongLife (WMLL), you mustn't change anything
If you only want to use WMLongLife for the 2G/3G-Toggle/-Quicklinks, then you can deactivate all functions of WMLongLife.
Also in each Profile in "Third-Party-Apps" you can disable WMLL-Service.
If you want, that WMLL-Service is stopped after Soft-Reset, then make assure, that current Profile stops WMLL-Service and in Main Settings of CHTS you have switched on "Reapply Profile after Soft-Reset"
Windows Live:
In each Profile you can configure, of Windows Live Synchronisation is setted "manually" or "as items arrive". If this shall work, make assure that start and end time of synchronisation is the same!
CHTS-Settings: Powering Device & Timeouted Message Box
You can configure very much things, what CHTS should do, if a Profile Switch comes.
The "timeouted MessageBox" is simply a Box, which is shown for xx seconds, so that you can deny this switch, if you don't need it at the moment. If you don't answer, then the switch is automatically answered with "Yes", if the xx seconds are over.
Some devices needs a special powering, to switch the Profiles, others can do it also, if backlight is off. Check it out and use the best Power Mode. Here some recommendations:
- if you want to switch Profile while locked, look if suspend settings of your device are not very short, at best 30 seconds or more
- if you change also Layouts with a profile, it's not recommended to "change while locked", better don't allow it generally or at least "change while locked, but no Layout". CHTS will notify you by vibration, that Profile switch is oncoming, but it is running after you unlock your device
- try if "smooth powering" is working for Profile switches, then you have almost no battery usage. But also the other Powerings are not very hard for your battery (except you switch Profile each minute ). For the most devices works "smooth powering" and "regular powering". Not much, but already some device needs "Full Powering" that a Profile Switch is possible. Therefore that this depends on much factors like Device, ROM, other installed Apps, it's not possible to provide only one power-method for all devices. Default after Installation is "smooth powering".
CHTS-Settings: Common things:
- Please look into CHTS-thread, if there is a updated version of your Language available. If something can't be partly translated, you see for this phrases the english original words.
- Please look, if your Storage Card is correct identified. IF not, please change it and don't forget to enclose it with "\"
- For the new option of Connection settings you can use each command-line-App, which has an paramter to switch off and a parameter to switch on the connection for GPRS or WiFi or Bluetooth. With the "Test"-Button you can look, if this works for your device. CHTS will then always use this call instead of the default call - also for profile switching
- The "ignore"-part of Settings is recommended, that all is switch "on" ! Only if you know, what it means, switch some things to off. "On" means, that these parts are not restored while Profile switch - and mostly it's better, not to restore them and to use the current state of the device for it.
- If you have the problem of "jumping quicklinks" from CHT - save your Layout extended and restore it manually or by PRofile. Enable the permission for CHTS, that it is allowed also to restore the Quicklinks
- Some Widgets, which are downloadable at xda-devs, are buggy and overwrites other widgets. So it is recommend to save Layout before installing a new Widget. CHTS has a special feature, that it not only saves/restores blind - it recognizes the Widget and restore your Sense intelligent, if you have installed a buggy widget.
How timed configuration for Profile switching of CHTS works is well explained in Main Manual!
FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions:
INSTALLATION:
Does I really have to install only to Main Storage?
Not really - but highly recommend, so I say better "Yes". Also it's only tested with installation on Main Memory. CHTS consists of system applications and this is always recommended to be on Main Storage. And don't be afraid: All settings, saved Layouts and so on - this is saved to your Storage card automatically by CHTS.
Must I stick to the installation instructions?
Also not really - mostly it should work by simply installing the .cab's and running CHTS and CHTSLoco once before doing any changes.
The installation instructions are only the safer way. Sometimes also the download at xda-devs doesn't work properly and by sticking to the instructions, you won't get further problems because of this and it's easier to reproduce.
I have a problem after installation that almost nothing works, e.g. no switch of profile, even not computing switch times or so
These sounds like a bad installation or a bad .cab. Please activate in such cases always CHTS-Logging, that I have a chance to reproduce.
But this should help:
- uninstall all .cabs
- Soft-Reset
- Download again all .cabs (CHTS, CHTSLoco, Links)
- Install according Installation instruction according Post #1
(especially: Don't forget to start & exit CHTS the first time with save & apply, before you do a change)
GENERAL:
I have an issue, which files do you need to reproduce it?
We need from /<storage card>/_CHTScheduler the file CHTSSettings.xml
Very important: ROM-Version, Device, Manila-Version and which system-near apps are installed! Otherwise mostly no help is possible.
Since 2.20 you have the possibility to logg all things off Profile Switch & Wall Changing - please activate it in CHTS Main Settings -> Misc
If you have a Location issue, please also activate Logging of CHTSLoco in Settings -> "Logging changes"
All Logs are to find in \<storage card>\_CHTScheduler\Logging. Please .zip them and attach them and tell me time, where the issue occured.
Sometimes a CHTStateLOG like described in 108f-posting can also be helpful.
Please use only attachments as default "zip", not "7z" or any other compression format.
What else is to be considered for feedback?
Please read at best this Link - it's very useful: -->Feedback hints<--
I only want to use CHTS for... (save Layout or Wall-Changer or NoData...)
Then at best read the QuickManual. CHTS is like a "swiss knife" - you can also use only one or some feature(s).
How shall I start, if I have no clue of a scheduler, but I like to have some different configurations.
At best - also Start with QuickManual and then read the CHTS-Manual to learn more. You will see - it's not difficult.
Link: ->Quick Manual<-
I see some strange IDS_BLABLA things? Or some english words as while I use another language
Do you have choosen your Language or checked if this language-file is from a former version?
How to reset my settings?
Delete or rename chtssettings.xml on storage card and reinstall the latest .cab of CHTS
Sense "hangs" / "stuck" while restart
Please try other power settings. It's ROM-/Device-/Manila-dependent, how are e.g the suspend timeouts and other things are. So recommended is in Settings -> Powering the value "smooth powering", if e.g. "very smooth" doesn't work.
Also check your suspend settings and try to increase them a bit and look, if you have system apps running or in startup-folder, which could interfere.
Will it also work when no SD Card available (only internal storage)?
Yes, but not recommended. You will get an error message, that SD-Card can't be found. Say Retry and yes - until you are in main menu of CHTS. Then go to Settings->Misc and switch "Only SD Card allowed" to off and apply this.
Then call again CHTS - then choose a new location for storage card to a valid directory, which has at least 5 letters! So far CHTS finds no SD-Card or you are in cradle as USB-Stick, it will temporary save to \NoSD\, which you can afterwards delete or rename to a valid name.
I got a .net Message but not much details
Please apply NETCFv35.Messages.ENU.wm.cab *from here* and read the postings around it.
Old question for Loco 1.00: I get "can't save / load settings, error #xxx..." (and use Location-Feature of CHTS)
If you have Locations assigned to profiles - perhaps you used CHTSLoco 0.85xmas-beta before - in Location names are NO Spaces and special signs allowed. So use only a-z,A-Z,0-9 and nothing else. e.g. "MyPlace" is allowed but NOT "My Place" or "My-Place". So also NO Spaces. This is derived from the internal database behaviour of Loco - but shouldn't be hard, as the name is more internal.
You can use the Rename-Feature in CHTSLoco to rename this Location to an allowed name. Loco 1.00 is checking the name now, if it's allowed
LAYOUT SAVING & RESTORING:
I see "white squares" instead of some of my quicklinks or freelinks?
This is because of the "jumping quicklinks"-issue - and I estimate, you have flashed the ROM and applied a LAyout of the former ROM. There it can be, that some Linsk are not the same. Contact Links are anyway not saveable (they use an unique ID), but for the Links: Simply delete them and apply them again and overwrite the Layout.
My widgets are not fully restored
Compare with "Known issues" in Post #1: An American Time Zone Format-Problem: CHTS suggests as Layoutname by Menu a name with date in format "Layout_yy/mm/dd" - but the "/" are interpreted as subdirectories - so the Layout isn't fully restoreable (mostly widget files). So please in direct save of Layout by menu: Rename default Layout Name to something without "/" or "\" inside. Will be fixed in next version
If I save a Baseline, will I get a security check Message?
No - you will only be remembered to do it. Later I will add a Box, but not necessarily. Only if you already saved a Baseline, then you will be asked, if you want to overwrite it.
What's the different between a Baseline and a saved Layout?
The Baseline is remebered by CHTS, that you should do it as fallback, if you later mess up your Sense. It hase a special name (ROM-Name, CHT-Version) and it is checked against a new ROM-Flash and a new installation of CHT. But it doesn't save your Quicklinks and Freelinks. Also a Baseline automatically backuped by CHTS after a new ROM or CHT-Version.
A Layout saves all - so also Quick-and Freelinks with a name, which you can choose free.
And what's the difference between saving a Layout as "standard" and as "extended"?
There are 2 different definition possibilities, what CHTS shall save. One is for the HomeTab, so all Links, Outfit, applied Skins, WIDGETS,... are saved - that's "standard". "extended" is for saving a whole Sense-Theme, so if e.g. a Theme-Creator writes in his thread "CHTS-compatible" - then he defined a special file for CHTS, which also consists each Sense-Graphic (Manila-File, .png's, reg-settings,...) - so that the whole Sense in all Tabs are saved.
Can I activate a Profile in automatically mode more than one time a day?
Yes, but the system of timing the schedule is different and (We hope also for you) more near to reality scheduling, so just RTFM for know how to.
Are the Layouts, which are shown in the screenshot, also in CHTS-.cab-File?
No, then it would be a very big .cab These are examples, you can schedule EACH Layout. If you know what I mean, if you have made your personal Sense-Layout(s) : WYSIWYG
I get a .net error, that a .xml is not readable, mostly see "FillFromManilaFiles" somewhere in this message
Please copy all \windows\chtwidget*.xml to your storage card and then try to open them with Internet Explorer. If all are ok, then you can read all of them. If not, then one of these .xml's is corrupt.
You can also look where it is corrupt - just copy it then to PC and use there Internet Explorer or XML-Reader-App - it will tell you the corrupt line.
The .xml's origins from CHT or one of the widgets - so please feedback which .xml makes problems. And tell this to the Creator of the Widget and feedback also in CHTS-thread.
Read Whitepaper in Post #6 to learn more, how CHTS internally works and how to make a Widget or Theme switchable.
WALLPAPER SWITCHING:
Can I schedule my wallpaper of my WinMo-Lockscreen?
Yes, simply schedule the Today-Wallpaper.
My today wallpaper doesn't change
try 3 things:
- delete st_water...-graphics completely with total commander in windows
then try again
- if that doesn't help: copy st_water out of windows to main root and copy it back
then try again
- apply a new .tsk (theme) in home settings of windows mobile and choose any wallpaper with .jpg
then try again
I have a problem with Wallpaper Scheduling
Please activate CHTS-Logging, this also loggs Wall-Changes, to find in:
CHTS Main Settings -> Misc
All Logs are to find in \<storage card>\_CHTScheduler\Logging
Please .zip this Logg-Directories and attach them to your issue-post.
DATA SETTINGS:
What's the difference between "initially" and "permanently" in data?
Initially means, that only at the moment the profile gets active, the settings are applied. e.g. if you initially activate GPRS you can switch it off and on afterwards while this profile is active.
Permanently means settings, which are valid while this profile is active. if you e.g. choose there "GPRS not allowed(No Data)" - then no App or even you can activate it, while this profile is active.
Whats the difference between flightmode, phone and network?
Flightmode: Switches off/on Phone and Data-Connection. It needs a PIN to get it switched on.
Phone: Switches off the Phone. It also needs a PIN to get it switched on.
Network: This is the most recommended feature of this 3. It does almost the same as Flightmode (also in Battery usage also low like Flightmode) and switches off Phone- and Network-Connection. You perhaps see in some taskbars instead of a cross another symbol, which say, that no network is found. But the best: IT NEEDS NO PIN TO REACTIVATE! (and it was not easy to implement)
So I mostly recommend "Network" for Scheduling with CHTS - because of this very nice feature. "Phone" and "Flightmode" are only inside, because you are used to that
only as hint: In airplane use "flightmode" - not because "network" wouldn't be good - I only don't know, if WinMo has something special for some device also to lower down something, which is triggered by Flightmode
I have activated GPRS and Wifi initially, but after switch to profil it doesn't change, why? (also Sense-settings, GPRS-NoData,...)
Have you seen that some items are "3-state-toggles" ? In manual you see what exactly they do and how they work. Simply make ensure that on left side the icon is enlighted, that CHTS knows, that this should be changed
I have problems with 2G/3G-Toggle
Have you installed WMLongLife?
And if yes: IS it configured like the recommendations? Otherwise please scroll up here in Post #2 to "Configuration"
SCHEDULING:
I have defined "Work4Me" from 8am to 4pm and "EnjoyTheSilence" from 7am to 5pm" - why it doesn't switch to Work4Me?
Because the Profile, which is nearer to bottom of the list, has a higher priority. So EnjoyTheSilence has a higher priorization and "overlays" Work4Me totally. Read Manual to learn more. It's intuitive, as soon as you know it.
My Profile hasn't switched (Location also used)
This can have much reasons - you have much options to take influence to Switching. Also there are option, where Timed Profiles should be ignored in know Locations and so on. Nevertheless: We need Logging of CHTS and CHTSLoco. You could also look inside this Logg - it's quite easy to read, why a Location wasn't changed due to a special settings. The Loggs are name by the time. So e.g. 110753.345.txt: this was 11:07,53 seconds.345milliseconds on this day created. Just sort it by date/time in your Explorer to find the newest Logg.
If you have no clue: Attach the Loggs of CHTS & Loco together with your chtssettings.xml to the thread here.
If I install other CHTS icons (cab) and then want to change back to the original ones, will simply uninstalling the cab do the job?
No, it will uninstall properly, but leave you without the icons. We highly recommend also downloading for this purpose the "standard CHTS icon set.cab" to be able to restore the original icons without having to re-install CHTS...
Is there already a possibility to switch to a profile by Quicklink or so?
Yes, it is - but at the moment you must create this quicklink on your own:
<program path>\CHTScheduler\CHTSwitchGui.exe -switchbyuser:sparetime
would switch to SpareTime (please use lower-case).
In one of next versions you can choose these quicklinks directly to apply by CHT Menu
VERSIONING & MISC:
I have a new CHT-Version, why is there no new CHTS?
Because CHTS is configured by CHT to know the basic settings, e.g. for saving Layout. So CHTS is automatically compatible to the lates CHT.
CHTS is only updated because of more features for you or fixing issues - so it's independent of CHT-Version.
CHTS cause drain or it causes Sense to stuck while e.g. looking video
CHTS has no permanently running app, therefore it almost can't cause drain. Also the Wallpaper-Changer is very energy-friendly, but it's better to use a profile, which doesn't schedule the Wallpaper within the next 2 hours, if you look a Video, that no stuck can occur. Better look if you had fixed CHT with at least the chtstate108f - Fix (it's also to find in Post #1 for download as .cab)
Why doesn't CHTS gives me MessageBoxes which always asks me, if I use my device at the moment as USB-Stick?
Because the Settings file as well as your Layouts are saved to storage card. And if you connect it as USB-Stick, WinMo denies your Device the access to it. If you'd use ActiveSync instead of this, it would work without any MessageBox-Reminder.
I have a wish or just want to say thank you
then just write this in the thread - I'm certainly pleased
I could kiss you for this free software.
Send me a photo of you before
I found a BUUUUG
Oh, how horrible. That almost can't be - CHTS has almost only 100.000 LOC at the moment, so I don't think that in this little app is a bug
(btw: I prefer the word "issue" as long we're not sure if the problem is not-RTFM or the problem is between the chair and the touchscreen, but now serious: Please describe it as exact as possible, perhaps with screenshots and version informations of your device)
I have a short d.ck
Let CHTS cause your handy scheduled vibrate in your trousers front bag (or tell me another BUUUUG)

#6 Hints for Widget-/Theme-Creators and ROM-Cooks
Here are all informations, you need to know, so that you can make your own Widget or whole Sense-Theme saveable and so switchable by CHTS.
Also how to cook it into a ROM.
I made it as a Whitepaper with all the internals, how CHTS works and interacts with CHT:
->Whitepaper for Widget-/Theme-Creators and ROM-Cooks<-
You can indeed preconfigure your ROM with different Layouts and much more. So also in ROM cooking you can now have your ideas
If you need further informations, feel free to ask here in thread.

Changelog 2.25 (and Loco 1.05) :
- Hometab-saving massively improved! Also basic Theme-Saving! Thanx to BHS Interceptor for this outstanding work to create the necessary new xml-files for that! As user you won't see any differences in CHTS, but you will see it if you save/restore your Hometab, your Theme. Also compatible to the newest Sense-Versions.
- Sense SDK 2.50 integrated. Thanx to ebhoelzner for this update. The UI of CHTS/SwitchGui/Loco works smoother and much fixes. There are some other little new issues with this new SDK, but there is always found a workaround, so you will "feel" the improvement
- LocoReminder! You can add Reminders according to the Location. You will find it in left softkey menu of Loco: You can add any Message to any Location. If you reach this Location, you will be reminded by Loco. This is nice, only some examples:
... you go to supermarket later and want to be reminded to buy Bananas
... you must be reminded to do something in work, while you are anywhere else, so just write it there... next time at work, you will be reminded by Loco
.... or in the other way, if you have something to do at Home or so.
You will be reminded by Sense Message Box or by Notification Bubble (which you know from e.g. Appointments or missed SMS) - so as long as you don't close it, you can access this message by tapping on system tray. Also you can get a vibration for extra reminding.
It is quick accessible also by a new Quicklink.
... I think it's easy to understand... you will see
- EMail-Synchronisation by Profile Change. - to find in 3rdPartyApps. Now you can let CHTS synchronize your Mails, when you want! Not this ... windows settings each 2, 4 hours or one day and at night your phone starts email synchronization sometimes. No - now with switching by profile. And like you know: Profile switching is by time, so you can say exactly, when Email has to be synchronized. And by Location... so if you have a Mail Account for Work... then let it synchronize while coming to work and the other Account while you're at home or whatever you want Oh: Seperately for each Email-Account, which you have configured.
All is made in background (developed fully in C, so also no interference like you e.g. know from other synchronizers, which switch to Email for synchronizing or so)
- Timed Switch now combinable with Location! In each profile, where you can define the times, you can now add up to 3 valid locations, where this switch shall occur. If you are not in one of the Locations at the time it shall switch - the time switch will be ignored. IF you come then a bit later to this Location, then CHTS will recognize this and will do this time switch later, when you really need it.
One example, for what this is nice: You define a usual time for work and only then you want Work4Me as PRofile. But you defined a Location "Work" as only allowed Location for Work4Me. So if you have free and you don't go to work, CHTS won't change to Work4Me. And if you come later to work, the time switch will be done then, if you arrive at work
Easy to configure and understand... but much possibilities
- Loco Locations can now be named in each Language! Reworked the whole database of Loco, so that this is possible now. Therefore this database is not compatible with 2.20, it is needed to reassign the Locations to Profiles in CHTS.
- Kill Executeable with profile switch (to find in "Execute Apps"-Section of each profile). I think not much to say, only that call parameter are ignored and you have a checkbox to switch between Execute-&Kill-Add-Mode there. So if you are nerved by some running apps in background.. just kill it
- New Option for Wallpapers: Switching S2U2-Walls (initial, scheduled, weather). This is provided as feature, which has still to be tested by the users. Please feedback, if all is working fine.
- New Quicklinks: Save Layout, Restore Layout, Loco Reminder. For the full list of all Quicklinks look to Post #3: -->to List of all Quicklinks & Toggles<--
- New CHTS Layout-Logging - all files, which are not copied are logged together with the reason, why. Settings in Misc of Main Settings underneath usual CHTS-Logging. Also added Button to delete this Loggs older than 1 day. Logg-Files for Profile Switch are to find in <storage card>\_CHTScheduler\Logging\CHTS_RestoreSense
- improved: Layout-Switching (also for all the others like ps4, Theme, Sense) - re-written main parts of algorithm to copy things over. There were differences e.g. in compare to Full-Sense Restore and some more things. Result: More stable Sense after Layout switch and improved check, if file has to be copied or not.
- much fixes and internal improvements. Too much to list all the single things.

- much more Main-Settings to adapt Profile Switching to your purposes, e.g. while Soft-Reset, new Powering, reapply icons or files, Data, timeouted MessageBox
- extended / adapted CHTSwitchGui & Timeouted Profile Mode
- so much more, but all is good to understand, I think. In Beta-Tests there were not much questions to understand all without any consulting of manual.

Changelog 2.16:
Please also compare with Changelog of 2.15 in Post #8
- Fixed Timouted mode - now should work as intended
- New option in Menu: Backup whole Sense ! Your complete Sense together with Layout and Quicklinks-Settings is backuped now. So if nothing more help and your Sense is broken - then this could beware you of a Hard Reset.
The Backup-Files of Sense will be zipped - so they only need <20 MB on your Storage card. On HD2 with Class6-SD-Card the Backup needs ~ 3 minutes.
The restoring takes longer - but this is because it is made "intelligent" - it doesn't only write back the files. It also checks if the ROM-files are better than the saved file and restores only that, what you need to get a clean install. Also it checks for Widgets-consistency and restores the Layout which you have saved with your Sense Backup. No need to apply a .cab for Skinning afterwards again
- Widgets & other internal things of CHT ("slots") are now saved to Baseline, Layouts and Full-Sense-Backup. If there are Widgets, which makes problems for you, you can also now revert back to the previous state. I hope the most not so clean written widgets are so really kicked out and doesn't interfere your Sense again.
- Added new feedback counters in CHTSScheduler and CHTSwitchGui, how much files are already stored / restored. Nothing more to explain - you will see it
- Changed behaviour for Exiting CHTS. Now no more "Save AND Apply" - you still get 2 Message Boxes... the first for Saving, but the second is no more an OK-Message, it will ask you, if you also want to apply the new Settings. So you can save new Settings, but you aren't forced anymore, that they are immediately applied. You can apply them also later by again calling CHTS or simply Reload Profile-Quicklink
- some other Fixes because of your Feedbacks and the tests of CHTS group
- Only as Hint: CHTS_Links_0215.cab is still the latest and full compatible to CHTS 2.16.
To CHTS Beta Team: thanx for all, mates!

-- Backlight --
-- Backlight ++
-- Backlight low
-- Backlight medium
-- Backlight high

-- backlight (10-100%, recommend 20-40%)
-- backlight on AC
-- Backlight off after xx sec/min (and not the ugly Sense steps, now you can choose 20,30,40 seconds
-- Backlight off on AC after xx sec/min
-- Suspend Device after xx sec/min/hour (please look, if too short times interferes Layout switching)
-- Suspend Device on AC after xx sec/min/hrs
-- Backlight Hardware Keys timeout (works not on all devices, ROM-/Device-dependency)
-- Checkbox in Backlight-settings -you can also only set the timeouts without changing the Backlight. (Could be also good e.g. for Lumos )
-- And also Quicklinks for them, like already mentioned.
NEW SETTINGS / MENU:
- New Power Mode "Regular Powering" while changing Layout/Profile. This mode is not compareable with the others. It's a new method, which only prevents in 2 very nice ways the device to be powered: It runs in a half-powered mode, but with Backlight on and uses special WinMo6-Event to keep it alive, that it doesn't stuck while unattended Layout change. Please try it all and tell me, what you see. In our massive test, it was to see, that this mode should also work good for ROMs with stranger Power settings
- Reworked "Full Power Mode" - it uses not only Full Power, it also uses the same Event now to work more reliable for it. But the device is full-powered, too.
- "Regular Power" only for MessageBoxes also as new option.
- In Menu "Layout saving" - now also saving can be for HomeTab or the whole Theme ("Standard" and "Extended")
- new Settings-Options "Folders"
WALLPAPER SWITCHING:
- Initial Forelayer Switching
- Scheduled Forelayer switching
- Weather Wallpapers also for Forelayers
- TODAY Wallpaper switching improved
- Wallpaperr changing also more reliable, also if you change Layout and you set "Ignore Wallpapers" the Forelayer in Layout will not only
ignored - it will also removed. So if you haven't set in this new Profile a Forelayer initial/scheduling/weather, then it's away.
- Random algorithm extended for Wallpaper scheduling. Almost no more repetitions possible... "almost" means: If you have 1 wall only in this
directory... then it will be repeated
- Switch option: Change in Lock without Layout
And this could be a very beloved feature. Indifferent if you have a Layout or not assigned to your Profile - it will switch also if locked -
but only the profile.
Later then - if you unlock - it will switch the whole Profile together with Layout. Also I use a very special powering for it (also depends from "very smooth", "smooth", "regular" and "full") - but in a hidden mode if
locked. So in the most power modes without Backlight (for the experts: unattended mode with some device-specific "D0"'s )
- Switch option: Profile Change Delay Rate
This can be a Value between 1 and 40. Default is 10.
It means: CHTS does the changes for a profile sequentially and this must be controlled. Because if CHTS would do that, in dev-language C would come all changes within 10ms... there would also a HD2 has no chance
So - if you e.g. set it to 20 - the timeouts between the single changes is double delayed and so longer. The settings will last longer to be applied. If you set it to 5, the change will be faster.
Now the recommendation:
Use a longer timeout, if your settings e.g. for Sound are applied to early or if your device isn't fast enough for normal speed. Also for Layout changing it's better to use a longer value (ok... on HD2 also the shorter time is working fine )
Use a shorter timeout, if you mostly only change your Profile without Layout. Or if you change often in locked mode. There are the suspend timeouts others - and so a profile switch can "hang", if it takes too long. So try in this case not only another powering, also try a short value here.
- And also here Quicklinks for the Wallpapers, which are scheduled with your profile.
SYSTEM SETTINGS:
- RINGTONE now chooseable (Folders are defined in settings - for .wav and .wma
- New options (HTC-only) in system-wide settings (volume&Phone) :
-- Quieter ring on pickup phone
-- Ringing louder if device is in pocket
-- Short vibrate, if device is connected for a call
-- Reduce noise in call (nice option if you have to much disturbing background-noise)
DATA SETTINGS:
- new Data Options for Bluetooth - now "Hidden" and "Visible" seperate options in Initial Data settings-- new Quicklinks and Toggles also changes according to your profile - so you can see, what you have setted
LAYOUT SAVING & RESTORING
- Direct Layout save by Menu
- Save of the Weather graphics - so you can also save Weather skins like Atmosfere for a Layout/Profile
- Faster & Improved Restore
FIXES:
- Bug, that for american-data-format the initial suggested Filename for Layout was not working
- Bug, that unallowed signs for dates were allowed for LAyout-Name
- SD-Card-Names also now can be only 3 letters long, therefore Chinese SD-Cards haven't worked
- Permanent Data Settings for Roaming/GPRSoffifWifi/WifiOnIFPowered now all working more universally
- Adapted opmode-show to CHT final-notification
- ... MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH MORE
Therefore just: No more Issues found while the hard test of great CHTS Beta Team - thanx for all, mates!

- Profile Names+Comments for both Lines in Main Menu

- For slower devices you can define a timeout, where CHTS isn't allowed to start Sense twice (default: 1 minute)
- Delete Icon Cache improved
WALLPAPER SWITCHING:
- TODAY Wallpaper switching (so also WinMo Wallpaper/Start Menu Background) - initial or scheduled
- Very wide wallpapers schedulable now, too
- Weather Wallpapers according to current weather made faster in reaction after Sense Weather update
DATA SETTINGS:
- seperated "Initial" (=at start of profile) and "permanent" (=during whole time of profile) Data Settings

Changelog 2.02:
- FIX of 2.01: If you apply Baseline, then on some ROM's there was no possibility to add Freelinks anymore. This is fixed & tested now.
- Longer delay to apply sound settings, so they are set also after Sense Restart
- Longer delay to apply Sense/CHT settings, so they are set also after Sense Restart (e.g. state mode). Plz feedback with your device name, if delay is now good enough.
- No reapply of random wallpaper after Restart of Sense, if Timeout is not reached
- New settings (often wished and I forgotten in 2.01) : "Restart Sense always after profile change" now activateable in Settings. You will get a timeouted MessageBox, which will ask you, if you really want to restart Sense, so that you are not surprised while e.g. writing a SMS at this moment.
- New settings (because I liked the idea ) : "Show current profile name instead of Operator name" activateable in Settings. It works only with Sense Restart... but this you have now also as new feature also if you have a profile without assigned Layout
- Some little changes because of user wishes.
Of course nothing of your current settings of CHTS will be overwritten. Just install.
Changelog 2.01:
- some nice new features
- all bugs, which were posted *should* be soluted
- now really all Settings are by default "not active" - the start profile is always "SaveMyDay" - but also there nothing is active.
Sure - if you already had settings, then they are not lost - so only for new users. If you want to reset also your settings and CHTS is already installed - just delete before let CHTS running the file "CHTSSettings.xml" in your storage card -> "_CHTScheduler" and then run new installed CHTS the first time.
In Scheduling:
- new "input options" -> Copy Monday-Time to Tuesday-Friday or Tuesday-Sunday
- fixed manually Switch of Profile also without Layout
- time scheduling for automatic mode works now as intended (hard job, but now ok in test)
- time prediction is correct now
In Layout/Settings:
- Registry Home of Manila Quicklinks is renewed by Layout change, what means:
-- counteracts the "randomly moving quicklinks" in CHT. You need an assigned Layout (you can use for all the same) - in automatic mode it will be switched anyway - in manually mode just use "Reload profile"
-- No double Links possible because of their movement after Layout switch / refresh (exception: Contact Links)
- New Settings-Option "Don't change Quicklinks" - it's good as temporary mode - the quicklinks are not touched by a Layout change. So if you are about to add new quicklinks, switch this temporary on until you think, it's time to save a new Layout
- New Settings-Option "Delete Icon Cache" - if you use different Icons for your different Layouts, they are now refreshed after Sense Restart. So you can have the most different themes.
In System/Settings:
- new option "OneVolume" - CHTS detects your current state and use it as default. But now - if your ROM/Device can do it - you can toggle between "One Volume for System and Ringer" as well as "Different Volumes for System and Ringer". HINT: This doesn't work on all ROMS. If your device doesn't support it, this features doesn't take any affect.
- new option in Sound profiles "Automatic" - so if a calendar event is active, the internal winmo feature is used, that your device is vibrating. HINT: This doesn't work on all ROMS. If your ROM doesn't support it, then "automatic mode" acts like "Normal Mode"
- In Settings to find: "Reapply Sound after restart" - this means, if you switch your Layout or do a Sense Restart or a Soft-Reset - CHTS will re-apply your Sound-Settings. Sense originally reverts them, but not more no. Please check,if it's working on your device.
In Wallpapers:
- now "initial wallpapers" are working like intended
- wallpaper timeouts over 1 hour made "strange" re-scheduling time - not more now
In Powering:
- New Power-Mode "Very Smooth power for switch" - if this is enough for your device/ROM/Profiles/purposes, this is the most energy-friendly mode. Default is still "smooth power for switch". Just try it
- ActiveSync no more accidently disconnected while switching Layout in each power mode
General:
- new Manual as new layouted .pdf-File - thanx to CLHatch for this great design. Now you can easier take the manual with you on your device.
- Thanx to our new great CHTS Group in About Box
- better MessageBox-message to understand, what CHTS want to do
- better Layout handling
- faster Profile switching without Layout
- different Lock-States considered
- new shorter, nicer vibrations
- Much more fixes and little features - I have forgotten, which they were exactly - it feels simply better while working in CHTS

Hi Jackos,
believe me... In the beginning i was a noob on CHTs with the first betas,
but now it save my life more then once at all tests about the 2.0 versions.
It is magic ... let it say with Queen: it's a kind of magic (sing)
Yes Mike, magic it is.
This app is very well put together and truly includes scheduling so many of the features of CHT and WinMo.
I have also been able to use this to save my butt a few times already in Beta stages, keeping me from having to hard reset because of messing up my sense layout.
Anyhow, congrats on the release Micha.
So... It's kinda a magic backup, do I get you right?
CHTSaver? Maybe CHTScheduler?
So tricky X_x
perhaps a little bit more like that But man... you're the first who soluted the riddle of the “S“
but santod made it easier to get on this But he made the major part of the graphics, so he is allowed to this hints
Totally confused X_X
So the S stands for Saver?
Maybe it restores original Sense state? So it restores all default settings xD
Dunno what it's exactly going to be, but I like the idea ;]
If the S would stand for Scheduler the app could change the home screen based on the time or whatever... This could be useful too... Or load different CHTE settings based on a rule.
So glad this is all out in the open!
Can I post my screen thread now? Lol....
Well done on all your hard work Michel, this is a fantastic app..
Sent From My Toaster Using A Tin Can And Some String
Maybe something to explain what CHTS will be?
(ah, CHT beta thread spilled the beans... CHTSheduler it is )
Let the Server a little bit time to get cope with CHT-Release - as long.. perhaps the changed graphic in Post #1 will explain a little bit more about... CHTScheduler

All the heavy lifting is done over at https://github.com/htc-msm8960 - thank those guys,
they are working incredibly hard to bring AOSP to this device. I think the list of developers goes something like this:
h8rift, intervigil, toastcfh, deck, Flinny, Flemmard, Codeworkx, birdman. That means that any bugs that exist in other
AOSP builds will probablacy exist in these builds.

Thickness Increase max && decrease min
Configurable long swipe and long press swipe areas
consolidate and cache views for smoother animations
User adjustable animantion duration
Add dismiss options for swipe ribbon
- Always dismiss on click
- never dismiss on click

width, and opacity.
Hide apps from app window
Hooks to dismiss app window if softkeys or navbar buttons pressed
Fix app window to pull all components also IE camera and messenger.
Rub some unicorn polish on the on touch glow. The giant boxes were
a bit ridiculous.
If ribbon is empty but toogles are not, just show toggles no flipper.
add adb wireless to toggle map
Phase 1 of the Animation chooser. Simple helpers to let users
choose the animation for the swipe ribbon and app window.
ill be adding some fancier animations for now just some of
the stock AOSP one.
Add lots o animation options. Also preload animations instead
of creating them at run time, should smooth things out a bit.
Keyboard IME hide, Vertical spacing App window, Cache resources.
Fix IME hide when navbar hidden.
Longpress on app window now takes you to app info.
Per-app PIE color
Since we're using Per-app color now, let's use it for PIE as well.
Fix layout of MultiWaveView and GlowPadView.
If the calculated size of the rings is much smaller than the measured
size (which is happening e.g. on mdpi 600x1024 tablets), the glow pad
appeared shifted to the right.
This happened due to the insets being calculated as difference of
available and needed size, and later on being added to the available
size. Example numbers (Nexus 4 with density forced to 160):
- computed size in onMeasure: 768x505
- scaled size in onMeasure: 505x505
- thus, insets are calculated as 131/0
- in onLayout, placementWidth (364) and max target width (108) are much
smaller than width (768)
- thus, center is calculated as 131 + (768 / 2) = 515, thus shifted to
the right
Fix that by not using width in the calculation, as the inset size
already takes it into consideration.
LockScreen: Fix crash when unlocking twice
This will keep track if the BroadCastReceiver is registered and
will unregister it only if so.
Fix message composing in DarkUI with emojis enabled
fix xxhdpi inverted launcher icon for Mms (HTC ONE)
Mms: set notification number attribute for messages
This will enable also the notification count overlay properly
sorry didn't get much time to work on kernel
May.28.2013
RB Settings: Update icon for keyboard enter
AudioService: Remove STREAM_NOTIFICATION from ringer mode streams
EthernetDataTracker: Set network available on connected
This change fixes state mismatch found in the bugs below,
and makes the code look consistent with disconnect().
In startMonitoring(), reconnect() is called before mNMService.registerObserver().
Then dhcpThread.run() could finish without getting interfaceLinkStateChanged() callback.
In such a case, mNetworkInfo has connected but not-available state - which is contradictory.
FW: Fix Menu Overflow Disable Option
The three button Menu Overflow would display no matter what setting was seleted within ROMControl, this commit makes a slight change to correctly return a result that reflects the users selection through ROMControl.
I had to enable then disable the option for it to function correctly (no reboot required)
Remove opaque check in preparing dirty region
Since preserve swap is enabled, we need to clear the color buffer
when the scissor rect is prepared for a new process. This prevents
garbage being present from the previous process in the color buffer.
SystemUI: show blue dc-hspap icon when connected to Google services
TelephonyManager: hide NETWORK_TYPE_DCHSPAP
LockScreen: Fix crash when unlocking twice
This will keep track if the BroadCastReceiver is registered and
will unregister it only if so.
SystemUI: fix vertical date not showed while on Pie
SystemUI: show date on 2 lines in status bar
This allows showing of the full day of the week, and removes
the blank space above the date (which always felt strange to
me when clicking it to access the calendar).
It also fixes a spacing issue on smaller screen devices that
causes the quick settings button to be partially chopped off
when the AM/PM clock settings are enabled.
Fixed an accidentally dot showed in some languages (for ex. US english)
Bluetooth: Fix MAP accept threads sometimes spinning endlessly.
Randomly (under no obvious precondition), the MAP access threads spinned
endlessly after enabling BT, because mServerSocket.accept() always threw
IOExceptions, probably because the actual socket was already closed.
This change makes sure to exit the thread when that happens to not waste
CPU cycles and battery power.
This tracks similar changes done to the BluetoothPbapService and makes
sure to follow the (working) PBAP flow.
Fix a number of issues with T9 dialer.
- Fix an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException (like reported in
[1]) which happened when highlighting the last digits of a number and
the number had additional characters after those digits.
- Fix another potential ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException due to the
highlighting code relying on normalNumber being a subset of number,
which wasn't the case due to number being additionally sent through a
formatter. Fix that by running the formatter before normalizing.
- Fix number highlighting not working if the number match occured at the
end of the number.
- Fix number type label & formatting not being updated on locale
changes.
- Fix T9 search not being triggered when pressing the dial button to
recall the last dialed number.
Remove DEBUG to avoid to run checking at every turn
Needn't to run storage checking in DEBUG mode at every turn,
it will make "DELETE OLD MSGS" always be checked in Mms Settings
Enhance the Easy Selector
- Follow GoogleUI Guidelines
- Fullscreen selector
- Added groups support
Mms: Go TRDS 2.0
use propper configuration values now
MMS app: fix crash when MMSC setting is NULL
An APN with a null MMSC column prevented the MMS app
to find the next APN in query.
Camera: Add TrueView
This commits adds the ability to show the complete image sensor frame
rather than the cropped preview used by aosp to fill the entire
screen.
Fix audio in Hangouts
* Add higher sample rates and stereo input device

Fix wrong log information in DevicePolicyManagerService
When user reset password their password,
if password doesn't match target quality of device,
DPM print a log why can't reset password.
however log message isn't correct information.
in log context, it have to exist current quality
and target quality. this patch can help print correct log
Avoid IllegalArgumentException in Preference.java compareTo()
In some situations the collection.sort() algoritm fails in compareTo()
with a: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Comparison method violates
its general contract!, due to a more strict validation of the compare
contract.
Fix CalendarView to show the month title properly.
Step to reproduce:
Do this test on a Tablet (i.e. do in multi-pane layout)
1. Settings > Date & time > Uncheck the Automatic date & time checkbox.
2. Select 'Set date' and set the month to January and Done.
3. Re-select 'Set date' then you will find no month title just above the calendar.
Framework/base: Added synchronization block to avoid race condition
Fix for the synchronization issue leading to access of an array
Index out of bounds. Issue occurs due to race condition between
removing the activities of a crashed process from history stack
and resuming a separate activity.
SystemUI: Fix Tablet UI Date View
Mobile indicator has been removed, is still showed in quicksettings mobile tile. http://goo.gl/1ZtuS
TRDS 2.0: Update Dark toggle state
Add Multi-Part and Split SMS Configs
MMS: Fix lookup of vanity addresses
Avoid the use of the function PhoneNumberUtils.stripSeparators for non-strict
phone numbers.
May.30.2013
TRDS 2.0: Update Dark toggle state
Make character picker for QWERTY keyboards use HOLO theme
Also, removed the cancel button. Instead, touching outside will close
the dialog
Improve auto-brightness handling
- Add a setting to control the auto-brightness algorithm responsitivity
- Make the algorithm react much faster when the ambient brightness
increases quickly, e.g. when receiving a call in bright sunlight.
Allow changing auto-brightness responsitivity.
FW : Allow user selection of Font Size
RC : Allow user selectable StatusBar FontSize
Settings: refactor TRDS toggle and add some apps
RC: fixup ribbons icon
*more appropriately sized and colored
Phone: transparent in call widget (optional)
To see the complete contact picture on incomming calls
a lot prefer to have a transparent background. This commit
introduces this feature as optional option.
As well a bit sorting of the phone settings screen
tons of other crap

Reduce observers in SystemUI: StatusBarIconView
Currently, for each status bar icon view there is a observer that
listens for changes of STATUS_BAR_NOTIF_COUNT. With one
notification usually having one or more status bar icons
you may end up easily with 10+ more observers for ~5 notifications.
With this commit the internal observer class becomes a singleton.
This means there is now only one observer for all status bar icons
and additional binder calls on new notification are avoided.
Reduce observers in SystemUI: KeyButtonView
This is based on the work by Jens Doll for the StatusBarIconView
The ContentObserver class will be a singleton, so there is only
one observer for all buttons.
On my Nexus 10 it reduced the observer count from 48 to 4.
Reduce observers in SystemUI: BatteryBarController
This is based on the work by Jens Doll for the StatusBarIconView
The ContentObserver class will be a singleton, so there is only
one observer for all instances.
On my Nexus 10 it reduced the observer count from 15 to 3
Fixing crash in PhoneNumberUtils getNumberFromIntent
Handling intent with no data when trying to retrieve number from
intent.
audio: Add overlay to fix analog docks.
Of particular interest to devices using libhardware_legacy and
affected by commit 5a484b7: http://goo.gl/rVR1Z
which restricted the routing of AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_ANLG_DOCK_HEADSET
to docks using FORCE_ANALOG_DOCK cases. The EXTRA_DOCK_STATE_CAR case is
returning FORCE_BT_CAR_DOCK, preventing the dock audio from routing properly.
Add an overlay option for overriding to FORCE_ANALOG_DOCK.
FW: Menu Overflow Disable - Different Implementation
Original method I used to enable the menu overflow disable option incorrectly disabled the menu overflow altogether for some devices due to a late night derp.
This implementation of the check to confirm if the menu overflow has been disabled through ROMControl should hopefully correct this issue.
Pie: set Big as default for item gap (2/2)
Screen: http://goo.gl/aocZ7
Pie: updates (2/2)
-pie angle: fixes, cleaning and new value (Huge)
-pie size defaults
-strings updates
Pie: Fix and easy recalculation for Chevron and Pie
Pie: set angle default to 12° (1/2)
Pie: let Chevron adapt itself from pie's angle.
> This make Chevron able to recreate the battery bar when the angle changes.
Fix unresponsive statusbar area.
Framework: GlowPad Torch
LongPress GlowPad...Torch.
Release...No Torch.
FavoriteToggle: DismissKeyguard
Small Fix
ClockActions: Dismiss Keyguard
Kanging SteveSpear's Brilliant
dismissal method here.
Doesn't require an activity
as ...OnNextActivity() does
Fix MAP SDP record generation
Give the bluetooth app API to register a server socket for a specific
UUID/port pair. It needs that for registering two OBEX server instances.
Fix Profiles - Ring Mode
Fix: AUTO_TIME and AUTO_TIME_ZONE moved to Global google
Frameworks: airplane_mode_on moved to global google and CM
Improve auto-brightness handling
- Add a setting to control the auto-brightness algorithm responsitivity
- Make the algorithm react much faster when the ambient brightness
increases quickly, e.g. when receiving a call in bright sunlight.
Settings: Call Ring mode what Google calls it, not Silent mode
Silent mode -> Ring mode cleanup
Fix Notification shortcuts icons picker FC
Allow changing auto-brightness responsitivity.
Adapt torch intent for Glowpad
Change intent for this feature as we do not use AOKP'S torch
Lockscreen Longpress: Unlock Logic
In my opinion, we should unlock after
user removes their finger.
This matches short-press unlock better
and allows the user to change their mind
on a target (I do that a lot).
Added a vibration action on longpress
being true.
BatterIcon with Center Text should be fixed now
Logo to menu is now disabled by default.. To set use device options in settings.. thanks.[/
alsa_sound: add HTC CSD CLIENT board flag for special cases (BT)
New HTC phones like m7 have special settings for BTSco CSD device
ids. Adding board flag BOARD_HAVE_HTC_CSDCLIENT to handle
these special cases related to HTC's csd client.

every thing you need should be in the gapp zip, just flash that after you have installed the rom
Great Nice to see RootBox on m7
Great to see more development picking up for the One. Liquid (Update) and Vanilla Rootbox all in one day!
Only question is can we please get the OP updated with any known bugs, no matter how big or small? I'm sure they're the same as CM nightlies. I've been trying to follow it but there's so many changes that it's become hard to follow. I'm sure myself and many others would greatly appreciate it if we can get that going!
ROOTBOX! OMG! I loved this rom on my sgsII
Will be flashing this later tonight

There is one thing I may be able to help with re: Camera.
If you have the camera open and you touch the 'Panorama' icon, it may go to 'Gallery.'
If this happens, here is a fix - I have tested and it works.

[MOD][XPOSED][4.0+]App Settings v1.10 (2014-08-13)

Xposed module: App Settings v1.10
What it is
This is an Xposed module that allows changing generic settings on a per-app basis.
"Generic settings" means settings that are global to all applications, such as: perceived DPI, rotation behavior, fullscreen, etc.; full list is below.
These are settings that can in principle be applied to all packages, even if for some it might not produce any effects.
Not to be confused with app-specific settings. If it's something that only app Y or Z needs changing, chances are it won't belong in this module.
What the mod CAN do
Here's the list of settings that can be defined for each target package:
- DPI: Changes the DPI used by this app both when loading resources (some might be DPI-specific) and also when rendering them.
- Font Scale: Scales the font up or down, similarly to the system-wide "Font Size" setting.
- Screen dimensions: Affects the resources loaded by the app in case it bundles different ones for different screen sizes; use the "List Res." button to get some hints on the kind of alternatives the app might have for different resolutions.
- xlarge qualifier for resources: also affects alternate resources used by the apps (tipically for tablets / devices with big screens); see previous item.
-Apply res to widgets: normally, resources are only manipulated when being loaded by the application itself. If this is activated, they will also be manipulated when loaded by other apps, which is the typical situation when a Launcher presents widgets from other apps.
- Locale: the language used by the app for loading resources, formatting numbers and dates, etc.; you can use this for apps that do include translations but don't give you an option of using a different language than your global one.
- Fullscreen: you can force an app to always use fullscreen (hiding the statusbar only, not the navigation bar for devices that have it) or never use it; on KitKat Immersive mode can also be activated.
- No title: hides the title bar, gaining more space for the actual contents. Note that many apps might crash if they're relying on some elements of the titlebar to be there.
- Keep screen on: If set, the screen won't dim or turn off after the inactivity period whenever this app is on the foreground. Remember not to put the device on your pocket with the app active.
- Show when locked: Display this app's screen on top of the lockscreen, without requiring e.g. the PIN to be entered (dangerous). Note that you'll have to find a way (somewhere else) to open the app from the lockscreen, depending on the kind of app.
- Resident in memory: If set, the system will try much harder to keep the app in memory even when you leave it. It might make the app more responsive when reopening but will also consume more RAM, possibly slowing down the overall system.
- No fullscreen IME: prevents the keyboard from taking up the entire fullscreen when in landscape mode.
- Orientation: Override the orientation settings build into the app. You can force "normal behavior" (rotate according to the device settings, even if the developer hardcoded a specific orientation), "always portrait", "always landscape" or "force auto" (use the sensors even if the auto-rotate system setting is off). Additional options exist for forced reversing the portrait or landscape orientations, use the sensor so they can be inverted by tilting the device, 4-way rotation, and forced rotation but respecting the user setting (locked / auto-rotate).
- Insistent notifications: If active, the sounds used by any of the app's raised notifications will loop endlessly. Danger of depleting the battery (and annoying crowds) if you're not around when it starts playing the sound.
- No big notifications: Prevent notifications to have an alternate layout for the "expanded" mode; it will always be collapsed and can't even be expanded manually
- Ongoing notifications: Force or prevent notifications from the app to be marked as Ongoing (non dismissable)
- Notifications priority: This is the relative importance of the notifications and, depending on the ROM, influence the visibility of their icons on the statusbar, their order on the list, etc.
- Show in recents: You can prevent the app from showing on the Recents list, or force it to appear.
- Mute audio: Prevents all sound from being played from the app. If videos are played, they will be muted. (this doesn't work for all apps, due to technical limitations on the system)
- Force legacy menu button: For devices that don't have a physical menu button, menu entries will usually appear on the far right of the Action Bar. With this option, the 3-dot button will be displayed on the navbar and the menu options will appear there.
- Revoke permissions: selectively block permissions requested by the app. Needless to say, depending on the permission and the app, it's very likely that it will start failing; don't expect revoking INTERNET or READ_CONTACTS and having the apps continuing to work every time - most of them will fail unless the developer anticipated this kind of permission denials
Some of the features that help you manage the settings for each app:
Search / filter apps
- by name or package
- by type (user/system)
- by state (enabled/disabled)
- by applied settings: global state, overridden or unchanged state for each setting
Shortcuts for app actions on the main list or on the individual settings screen
- launch app (main launcher activity)
- go to system settings screen (uninstall, clear data, ...)
- Play Store link (if applicable)
Display list of recent apps and jump directly to their configuration
The app can be killed when saving settings, so they can take effect immediately after relaunch instead of requiring a reboot.
What the mod CAN'T / WON'T do
The settings you can define for each app won't add functionality that simply isn't there, such as:
- adding tablet / large screen layouts
- using languages for which no resources are included in the app
- display "properly" in portrait or landscape mode
- operate flawlessly on top of the lockscreen
- keep working as expected (whatever that means to you) even after you revoke permissions
Not only these would be not possible to implement in an app-independent way, it's also beyond the scope of this particular module.
If you're familiar with the Xposed Framework, you're probably aware that lots of things can be tweaked or added to specific apps.
However, unless it's:
- generic behavior that can be applied to most apps
- relatively easy to implement
then don't bother requesting App Settings to provide it.
If it does obey these 2 conditions, then by all means suggest it (preferably with code contributions / pull requests).
Installation
Requirements:
- Xposed Framework 2.2 or newer; 2.6 or newer starting with AppSettings 1.9
- ICS (4.0.3) or newer (up to 4.4); this is not only a requirement for the framework, but also for this module due to the hooked APIs
Download:
The installation can be performed from within Xposed Framework by browsing the repository and finding the "App Settings" entry. Any updates will also appear there.
Alternatively, the repository entry can be browsed directly at http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.mods.appsettings
Usage of this thread
This thread serves primarily to publish updates to the module, report bugs and suggest or discuss new features (user or developer-wise).
You can also use it to share and discuss your experiences with tweaking specific apps (e.g. resources settings, revoked permissions, etc.) - but I must warn that you should not expect feedback from me on that matter.
Quite frankly, I'm not that much of a smartphone heavy user, and I'm not willing to install loads of apps on my device in order to experiment and achieve ideal configurations for *you* to use. That's what the community is here for, though so feel free to discuss this on the thread.

Development
Authors: @rovo89 and @Tungstwenty
Sources: https://github.com/rovo89/XposedAppSettings
History: The foundations of this module were created by @rovo89 as a hidden feature within his Tweakbox module, which was the first daily-use mod taking advantage of the (then new) Xposed framework and somewhat of a showcase for it. By directly editing the xml settings file, it was possible to change the dpi, screen dimensions and language for an app's loaded resources.
Eventually it got promoted to its own standalone mod once a minimal UI was built to edit the configuration and more and more settings were added. It was promoted and discussed on @pulser_g2's Making Stock Custom ROMs Defunct thread and the repository he was kind enough to setup and administer some time ago.
Since it's been pretty stable for a while - both in robustness and in expected update frequency - and Xposed Framework now has repository functionality, it has come the time to create a dedicated thread for this and also bump the version to 1.x with the latest added features.

New features:
- Fullscreen can now be forced or prevented
- Prevent apps from displaying big / expanded notifications

- Display menu when long-pressing items on the app list
Changes:
- Reorder filter dialog entries to match settings screen
- Use resources for all displayed text in order to support translations
- Only display warning if the module is not active
- Restore permissions of settings file when "fix permissions" scripts mess them up
- React to SEARCH key
Bugfixes:
- Fix issue with Maps not zooming under Xposed 2.2 when some screen dimensions are selected
- Insistent notifications weren't producing effects in some situations

Ooo... Prevent full screen. :good:
I also noticed a significant improvement in load time as it's not scanning the entire list of apps every time. Also :good:
Edit: And my smaller screen size apps (Screen (dp)) don't look funny anymore. :good:
Edit: Also I thought this already had its own thread.
Individual brightness
Thanks for this fantastic module!
This Must Have and great module has now finally its own thread, it's perfect! :good:
Not much to say ... Smart, easy, effective, nice update ...
I have only one wish:
Is it possible to add individual brightness?
3 choices:
- System default setting (checked by default)
- Auto brightness
- Individual level
I think that would be great!!!

I guess it is a good thing I didn't ask you about tabletui...
Thanks for the update!
Good Module and yes nice update.

Check the "About" panel. Do you see red text with "Note: ..."? If yes, then the module isn't running; activate it on XposedInstaller and reboot.
Otherwise, when saving the settings for an app (you're pressing the save button, right?) answer YES to the prompt on whether to kill the app or not, so that the settings take effect the next time it's started.
There's only a couple of exceptions for special packages which do require a reboot, such as "android" (obviously) and perhaps SystemUI (which might cause system hangs or not close at all)

Yeah I'm doing everything right I've used this many a time before and had this issue with older versions. I know there was something I had to do with permissions which solved problem but I forgot.

Great Module.
I use it to change the locale of google now to my native language without having to change the system language too. Without this app google now would never talk with me in my native language.
A feature request:
Some apps (at least "Unicon" or "Lux") have the ability to show Notifications without showing a icon in the statusbar. Would it be possible to force this for other apps too with app settings? The notification should be in the list but without a icon in the statusbar.

Same here
I like all my systems (PC, phone, etc.) in English language, but there are some apps like Maps or Local News that need to be changed in order to provide local contents or audio

Apparently this seems to be possible on JB 4.1 and above: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2855110/android-no-icon-for-notification
I'll add this to the wishlist.

Variant Editions
ADRENALINE NEO (Variant of the Official Release)
This is the rom further de-bloated to my personal liking and is created specifically for me. I'm really a sort of no-frills kinda guy yet I still appreciate some theme action and abilities. However, I have chosen to share this with everyone. I will not address complaints or issues resulting the use of this version as to what's missing or what you'd like to add back however I don't mind helping with the usual crash or system related issues should any ever arise.
The following separates it from the standard release:
APPS REMOVED
*Bluetooth unlock module
*All Apps Mirror Enabler
*Double Tap Status Bare to sleep module
*Google Navigation Arrow
*Play Store Fixes module
*ALL WIDGETS EXCEPT FOR WEATHER CLOCK
*ALL HTC BACKUP, VZW BACKUP, ETC BACKUP Utilities except Google Backups
*ALL live wallpapers and live wallpaper functionality
*Music Channel Disabled and removed (I've noticed a major decrease in audio *quality once switching over to the animations until a full reboot takes place and you stay away from it)
*Verizon Visual Voicemail
*The extra added ringtones and the Earthquake alert removed (no earthquakes where I live)
*All Mirror Casting services
*NFC and TAG abilities
*VZW Cloud Service
*Media output like HDMI output, etc.
*Boot-up and Boot-down custom animations
ADRENALINE DEVELOPER (Variant of the Official Release)
I created the Developer Edition for you guys who like to take a reasonably debloated base without Neo's adding like and dislikes and drag and drop apk files whether from the computer into the rom zip or from in your phone using a root explorer app to add back in apps you want. The Developer Edition is debloated even further than my Neo Edition as I've removed those apps which catered to me and only contains your most basic features: Calculator, Camera, Clock, Contacts, Data, Flashlight, Gallery, Mail, Playstore, Talk, and Text. For those who like to build up their own DD, this can be used as a starting point for dragging and dropping back into the rom things you need.
Aside from what is already removed in the Developer's Edition, the following has also been removed (but can be added back in at your discretion/ability):
APPS REMOVED
*Google Maps
*Youtube AdAway module
*Screenshot Delay Remover module
*The XPosed Installer
*Flashlight
*GoogleTTS (Google Text To Speech Engine)
Installation InstructionsI recommend users of this rom to be on the latest firmware and Hboot with an s-off device.
NOTE: You need to be on at least TWRP 2.7.1.1 or above if you intend to flash this rom.
If you are NOT on this recovery and have a rom complaint, I will not address it.
DO NOT WIPE SYSTEM WHILE IN RECOVERY UNLESS YOU WANT PROBLEMS.
The installer script does it for you already. Simply do a factory reset "Swipe Wipe" and you're good to go.
Flashing Procedures are as follows:
1. Put the Rom on the root of your internal memory
2. Compare MD5 Sum
-Windows: MD5 Calculator
-LINUX: Open Terminal and type: md5sum [path to the rom on your sd card]
-Mac: Open a terminal and type: md5 [path to the rom on your sd card]
3. Reboot to Recovery
4. Scroll down and select "Wipe"
5. Do a "Swipe Wipe"
7. Install Rom from SD Card
8. Reboot and enjoy!
For Best results, reboot the rom once after it has settled after all your syncing and such. You will need to reboot anyway in order to active the xposed framework.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
[Q]: What is the difference between Textra and Google Messenger?
[A]: A Comprehensive and Thorough User Level Comparison Review of Google's "Messenger" VS Delicious Inc.'s "Textra SMS"
So in an effort to prepare all of you for lollipop in an "ease into it" kind of fashion, I've come to find that many are either hesitant over the newly included messaging app, or would rather prefer Google's Messenger app over Textra. It has also occurred to me that many users don't actually know the difference between the two (other than the fact that Textra comes with a dark skin default which is changeable). So I have taken the time to compare the many different abilities and functions that each app provides in comparison to each other (at user level).
I hope that you find this informative enough to make a decision in the future as to which you would prefer. So without further delay, I present to you my review.
Now many of you may not care about the messaging app as you've selected Hangouts to be your default SMS receiver. For those of you like myself however that prefer SMS messages to be kept separate from hangouts, this may be of good use to you.
So to the Left we have Messenger and to the Right we have Textra.
Right off the bat you will notice that Textra does a full system theme where your status bar coloring is altered to reflect the theme (as with most of our apps including our Kit Kat stock Message) where as in Messenger it remains untouched.
You will also notice that the contact icons in Messenger are slightly larger than those appearing in Textra which I personally feel would limit the amount of text being displayed due to the "create a new message" button covering the last recent message. Yet the font is slightly larger in that of the Textra app making it easier to read which is what we care about most in a messaging app.
Both layouts appear to be nearly identical with exception to color.
Here we have an example where a single message has been long pressed.
In Messenger, the message selected is indicated by a slight discoloration of the field in which the text inhabits along with changing the contact icon to a Blue Checkmark (which only deselects the message if pressed). Notice also the create a new message icon disappears (as it is not needed for this current function).
In Textra, the message selected is indicated by a highlighted check mark that shuffles in from the left of the message (shuffling the message dates to the right off screen). Additionally, the create a new message button in the bottom right corner becomes a grayed out Checkmark which when pressed, changes color and selects every message currently in the chat summary. However, there is no Archive function built into Textra as there is in Messenger which for some of you, very well may be a deal breaker as you may actually use that function (I don't).
The options that appear above in Messenger are that of cancel (go back), Archive, Delete, and options.
The options that appear above in Textra are that of cancel (go back) Silence notifications, delete, and options.
In the following two images, we see what a multi message selections looks like in both Messenger on the left, and Textra on the right.
Immediately in Messenger, the options button vanishes and converts into simply silence notifications (as that is apparently the only multi message function it can perform).
However in Textra, the options to silence, delete, and "options" remain.
I have gone and deselected one of the messages in both Messenger and Textra so that we can compare and explore the options that are presented for a selected message (since it disappears in Messenger if multiple messages are selected). However, I have included the multi selected messages in Textra also so that you can see the options remain unchanged.
To the left, Messenger displays the only options to be Silencing notifications (which for some reason was not available until multi messages were selected) Add contact which adds the person to your contacts if not already, and block or “blacklisting” (which prevents you from receiving their messages).
To the Right, Textra displays Notifications Settings, Bubble Color settings, Delivery Report settings, Signatures, and black listing. Keep in mind also that silencing notifications is already present in the main window as well.
Since we pretty much already know what Notifications off, add contact, and block do, we will go over them through Textra while we explore the additional options it has to offer in the next images to follow.
We now are looking at the notifications settings specifically for the selected messages. What you will notice, is that in Textra you can define message/people specific themes, options, and settings.
In here you can enable or disable notifications on the main page.
Tap Notifications allow you to select the action to be taken when you tap a message notification from that specific message/person. You can choose to open a floating quick reply window that will disappear after you send a message and resume whatever activity you were currently doing, or you can have it open textra like most stock messaging apps will do.
Floating notifications settings will allow you to decide the duration of the pop up notification for that specific contact (should you decide to have pop up notifications in the previous setting)
Notification Icon Settings allows you to decide what color that selected contact/message should appear in. As you can see, there are 44 different color options to choose from (wow!)
LED Blink Color is an awesome option for phones that support it. You have the ability to specify what color your selected message/contact should appear in when you have received a message from them. While our device doesn't support every color listed, I have taken the liberty of providing you with the huge variety of LED colors that actually do work for our device: Green & Red.
Default Notification sound although "says" Ringtone, actually pulls from your notifications folder (like it's supposed to).
Vibrate Settings allow you to set specific vibration instructions for that particular selected contact/message.
Now, if you've elected to allow vibrations, you can go so far as to even select contact/message specific vibrate patterns!
Wake Up Screen options allow you to decide whether or not a message from that particularly selected individual should wake your phone and turn screen on or not.
Repeat notifications let's you decide how often your phone should harass you for not checking or acknowledging the newly received message per contact/person. Hey if it's mom you may actually want it to keep telling you her message is waiting to be seen
This ends all the options available for Notifications.
Backing out now we select the option to go into Bubble Colors for the specific contact/message. You can decide what color your text bubbles should be in, and what color their text bubbles should be in. Check it out, you have 42 color options
This ends the options available for Bubbles.
Backing out now we select the option for Delivery Reports
Here you can decide if you want to receive a report for a MMS or SMS message successfully received by the end user's device to which you sent a message to. Very handy for those who claim they never got your message or simply informative to you for those who honestly didn't receive it and perhaps should be called.
This ends the options available for Delivery Reports.
Backing out now we select the option for Signatures to be displayed in your messages to these specifically selected individuals. After having opted to include a message, you can edit and create your own. Note that after confirming your new signature, the signature displayed looks overwritten but a quick back out and back in to the Settings will provide you with visual proof of the correct change. (This is likely a glitch they are probably working out).
This ends the options available for Signatures.
Backing out and selecting the Blacklist option will immediately BlackList (block) those messages selected from ever being received to your device again. Don't worry however, as this can be undone by going to the main settings for the app outside of these message specific options we've explored through this review. Pay no mind to the fact that I just blacklisted my mother-in-law by "accident"
Deselecting all the contacts in both Messenger (Hey what was this app for again?) and Textra, we are now able to enter their Primary App Options via the same options button to the top right of both apps.
Notice that since Messenger has Archive functions, you are able to go into your Archived Messages as seen in the image above. Since I don't have any messages archived, none will appear but if you had used it to Archive them, that is where you would find them. This is the same feature that is present in Google Hangouts where you can archive a conversation for later viewing (and to keep it out of your primary chat summary).
On the main page you will see a search button (magnifying glass). Perhaps you had a conversation with someone a long time ago in your messages about a certain topic but can't remember who it was or when it took place. To easily recall that conversation, you can type in a word or phrase used in the message as indicated in these examples.
A very crucial thing here to note, is that Messenger will only highlight and provide you with the very last time the subject was ever discussed and take you back to that moment in time via clicking on it.
Textra however, will display a brief message from each and every time that particular subject was discussed and take you to that exact moment in time you were looking for by clicking on the specific search result.
Since it will be extremely brief, due to the minimal activity taking place in this app, we will go ahead and explore the main options taking place in Google's Messenger App first.
As you can see, aside from having 0 message specific settings, only very little remains for any of the global settings. Whether or not you want notifications for all incoming messages, one specific sound for all, whether or not all vibrate or don't, and your typical MMS settings which appear in every MMS app.
Now in Textra's Main Global Options/Settings, we see all the following choices.
Many of these you recognize from the per message/contact options/settings we covered earlier. These will be the primary settings to take place globally in no settings are specified per contact/message.
We will only cover those that were not covered in the individual settings.
Under the "About" option, selecting "What's New?" will give us a detailed change log for all the advancements Textra has made per release.
Enable Debugging is set for times when Textra provides support to you for an issue related to their app (wow)
Tell your friends allows you to share the playstore link for this app via a variety of different sharing options.
Resync Textra does what it says: Basically re-syncs all your messages should you have strayed away experimenting with other apps that intercept messages and wish to return to stability It will re-sync everything for you without changing any of your settings.
This ends the About Options.
Backing back out into Settings you'll notice a support button. Click this and you will have the option to contact the developers directly with any issues you may have that aren't listed in their provided Q&A/FAQ listed below. They also provide a button to tap to link directly to their Feedback Forum (yeah, they have one).
This ends the Support Options.
Backing back out into the main Settings, there is a Customize Look menu. Here you can change the text size of the fonts being viewed as presented in the image above.
You can also change the Dark Mode Settings to "Off", Dark (default) and Black.
In Theme color, you can change the overal theme color of the entire app! You have 40 selectable themes to choose form. Take notice of the checkmark and circle color of each theme you select. It is the color of your secondary colors like menu option font color, check boxes, etc.
Under the Default Notifications Settings, the only difference you'll see that wasn't discussed before is whether or not floating notifications will appear while the phone is both locked and unlocked (or duration of the notifications).
All the other settings are global and as mentioned before, work for all those who don't have individually set settings.
This ends our exploration of the Settings options.
Now, we go into a message as it appears in Messenger.
Uh oh, my chat window with my buddy Justin is in Pink and White?? Gee thanks Google.. Apparently, Google thought it would be cute to pre-select random theme colors per conversation in your messages. There is no way to change the color options as they appear in this conversation nor can you change any of your chat bubble colors or font sizes.
Long pressing a message as indicated in the second picture above yields a couple options. Delete that single post, return to the chat, Forward that post to another contact, or information regarding that post (type, from, to, sent, received).
There is no multi selection option, there is no swiping side to side for additional options or navigations. However options for the entire message is present without post selection.
Now in Textra, I'm happy to say that I have assigned this theme to the chat with my buddy and I.
Pressing on his image pulls up his personal info and gives me the option to call.
Swiping from left to right in the chat window sends me right back into my main chat summary.
Swiping from right to left however, will display the exact time and date of every sent and received message regardless of the time interval between as indicated in the 3rd image.
Long pressing a message gives me the option to multi-select individual posts where I can either trash them, send them all as a new message to someone in my contacts, forward the messages to another contact, copy the text, lock the individual posts, or share in an email Man I love options!
This concludes my review of both Textra VS Messenger.
I hope you have found it enlightening and will have taught you how to operate either app like a pro by the time Lollipop roms surface.
Guess now I should go and un-blackllist my Mother-In-Law

I have no idea whats wrong! Fresh install. Did factory reset. Nandroid first of course. Booted up fine and logged into my Google account. Once I hit the home screen for the first time it rebooted. It has continued to reboot every time it boots into android since then. Can't even get my apps to finish restoring from the Play Store. Not to mention my Google account as a whole hasn't synced lol. Help?

Did you follow my instructions for flashing exactly as described in the OP? Also, are you S=OFF? Keep in mind also that this is only for the Verizon variant.

Of course! I learned a long time ago back with my Rezound to follow your instructions. Yes I am S-OFF, Unlocked, using 2.7.1.1, didn't wipe system in recovery, and have a Verizon One Max.

Baffling man.. Are you flashing gapps or something? Should just be wipe, flash, boot. Make sure you're flashing the standard rom and not dev edition. Only thing I can think of is perhaps your phone doesn't like the high kernel frequency.. As soon as it boots, try going into trickster and drop the max frequency down a few notches.

Clean flashed again. Got into Trickster and dropped it down to 156600 and dropped read ahead to 2048. Also dropped GPU to 400. Set all to apply on boot. Didn't even sign into Google this time. Kinda just skipped through the setup process. Still rebooting. I haven't been able to flash any custom kernels on my One Max. Fly and Lunar both cause the same thing.

Bummer. On Monday I'll create a flashable zip for the stock kernel for those who have issues on these custom ones and I'll add it to post #2.

Thanks a lot! I was really hoping to finally be able to try FlyKernel. Do you think I would be able to just flash Flyhalfs stock insecure on your rom? Plus any idea why your rom won't play nice with my phone? Either way..... Great to have you back making HTC phones awesome!

This has Fly's 2.4 kernel baked in so if you've had issues flashing his or any other custom kernels, then you're bound to continue having them if they are baked in.
There are a handful of things that would need to change in order for you to run this rom on a stock sense 6 kernel and I will have a flashable for you on Monday.
As for why you have issues flashing their kernels, you may wanna get with them to figure out what's up.

Rom is sick... Everything is working great. Still playing around with it.
Thanks!

Theming Omniroms system apk gone wrong?

So I decided to port Material 4.3 by FateNozomi to Omni 4.4..4 framework,UI and Settings, and everything went smooth (at least I thought). After porting,I recompiled all apps without any error.First time I signed them with testkeys provided with singapk.jar and system wouldn't install them,so later I found platform keys with which system would allow installation.
Short after I activated AD in Settings options to realize that I can't read notification nor unlock phone through AD (when ever I click on unlock button nothing happens). Also tried to change Lockscreen shortcuts but when I have to drag unlock ring to assign shortcut nothing happens (ring doesn't expand),and lastly when I activate contextual notif header it just get stuck on one image (if I activate it in morning ,morning.jpg will remain untill the next reboot, wont change throughout the day).
to decompile I used apktool 2.0.3 and as I told,I recompiled with 0 errors (except usual translation missing).
I didn't mod any of these options that are malfunctioning,I even stayed away from every xml that could potentially lead to breakage of any options (hah and in the end got breaks on options I regularly use).
If someone could help I'd be more than happy to listen as I've searched xda through and through and haven't found any bugs or problems that could cause this.
Could it be the platform keys?Apktool mistranslated some strings or resources I honestly have no ****ing clue and its driving me crazy.
Id really need some help being that this is my first "project".
Fixed Lockscreen but not AD
I cross referenced my modded Settings with original and found a miss match in dimensions that fixed LS shortcuts.
I had no luck with AD,so if someone is familiar with omnis active display Ill be more than happy to try any suggestions !!!!!
I also cross referenced modded SystemUI xml related to AD and all matched with originals.
Fixed AD
I found out that I did change some sensitive values for AD,which led to it breaking so I fixed it all.All things that were broken, broke because of my limited to non knowledge of android so I apologize to moderators for clogging this section.
Feel free to delete this thread!!
