Hi, I recently rooted my Alcatel One Touch Fierce. I now want to utilize Rom Manager, but I can't find a CWM recovery for my phone model. Is there a way to still install a CWM recovery manually or any other way? P.S. I'm new to all this. Thanks!
There's no recovery for this phone yet. It seems a lot of people have recently purchased it though, so I'm holding out hope we'll get at least recovery for it. It has a locked boot loader, so it requires a little innovation.

Do you think you can give me a link to a back up because my Alcatel is bricked.

The stock recovery can restore backups made with the stock recovery. It just won't flash anything else. After almost a year, I kind of doubt that there will be any serious development for the Fierce.
Just get xposed framework; it gives you all a custom ROM would (in terms of personalization). It requires root. Use framaroot if you need to root. My Alcatel OTF runs smoothly after rooting and installing xposed.

Here are the links to my work.
The recovery and roms can be found in this post.
http://androidforums.com/threads/roms-for-the-fierce-2.918921/page-9
The recovery alone is here.
http://androidforums.com/threads/new-recovery-for-alcatel-one-touch-fierce-2.993682/
Please note this is a modified stock recovery so it looks the same.
But i have patched the keys to flash my files.
IF YOU ROOTED YOUR PHONE YOU SHOULD FLASH THE RECOVERY.
IT GIVES US A WAY TO FIX BOOT LOOP.
IF YOUR PHONE IS BOOT-LOOPED BEFORE FLASHING THE RECOVERY THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT.

I'm sorry for the late reply.
Yes you can flash the phone with an unbranded rom, you can even flash it with the monosim rom, if you don't want the dual sim function.
Yes I know a lot of people who did it (they liked the phone features bu they don't need the DS functionality.)

Ok well I installed CWM and rooted my phone. I went ahead and got this one. Let's see what's cooking...now if only I can get that boot.img...
I am very happy to report I have created a flashable rom(via CWM or TWRP) which is essentially the same as the default rom on the star, but it has some of the junk apps alcatel pre-loads on the phone like game-loft removed and SuperSU installed.
I created it by getting the firmware.info file for our device, creating a custom update-script (getting the correct partition mounts from the firmware.info) using some pointers from DorianX's AOTI Lite Rom update-script, taking the system directory and boot.img from a nandroid backup after a factory reset, and getting the custpack directory by using a root file explorer to copy it to my sd and subsequently my computer editing the custpack, and finally packaging it together via dsixda's kitchen.
I am still working on slimming it down a little more as there are apps in /system/ that can be removed as well, but I just wanted to see if creating a custom ROM was doable. And it seems it was after 3 days of experimenting
Also got rid of that default hideous white theme by changing a setting in the build.prop.
I can upload it if anyone would like me to.
So I made the genius decision to uninstall the camera only to realize I can't flash a stock rom onto my device due to a locked bootloader. If anyone has a titanium backup or apk of their alcatel one touch fierce camera/calendar apps that they could post It would be greatly appricated.

You can just use towel root method for the lg realm just install busy box and super su

I see from googling your device seems like there aren't any devs for a ROM on your device however it does have a preinstalled 3e recovery which is a basic one but as for new ROM I do not believe there is a custom recovery or ROM at the moment sorry man. Hopefully if it has more demnland for being built it might have some Dev interests. However though I can give you a place where you can ask for a custom recovery to be built by some indie devs. Unleashedprepaids.com is a good place to check for info and ask for a custom recovery build. Good luck man.

So do you think in the built in recovery I could back up his stock rom? I too saw that it had a reckvery. But I don't have the phone in front of me to try anything.

I would want to say no because it's a stock recovery that they included it may have while options and or side loading with adb maybe but as for backing up I'm not sure most likely not. The only way I've personally done backups without a custom recovery was with nandroid backup which is also what I used for my lg 70 I used to own and it did really well on backing itself up I made a guide on that ms323 specific device on unleashedprepaids form in the lg section of MetroPCS . just make sure you have busy box installed if you do nandroid backup route.
I have just achieved root with a tool called Towelroot.exe, now I would like to install a custom recovery but my device isn't listed in Rom Manager.
Is it safe to flash recovery from a device that is similar to mine?
How do I go about finding the right recovery so I can do a nandroid backup for my phone. I would also like to flash Cyanogenmod so that I may customize my device.
Any help would be very appreciated.

Galaxy Ace Style sm-s765c Stock recovery sucks
Anyone know what my Galaxy Ace Style sm-s765c compares to, I think it's close to the s3 mini except that it has 512MB ram and the s3 mini has a gig I think.
This stock recovery doesn't even have an option to make a backup, what the hell were they thinking. What in the heck would you do if something happpend with your stock os and you needed to restore it or something like that.
I would sure like some help with this, to understand why I just can't throw a recovery that was close to my system onto mine, How bad could it be would it really screw up the booting process? They all boot the same don't they? I would think it would be safe just as long as it's the same os version right?

Hello guys,
Has anyone of you started any work or done any research on this cheap, but good tablet?
I'm willing to create a custom ROM for it, but I'm quite new in ROM making area, although I have experience with Linux, software development, etc.
So first of all I would need to root QV830 somehow, then copy current ROM, as there are none available to download, and then play long time with, say, Android 5.1 version and get it working on QV830, if possible.
This thread could be like knowledge base for this device or something.
Where would you recommend to start looking for rooting solution? I could try to create my own rooting app/procedure since I couldn't find anything for QV830 on this matter.
Thank you!
Hi,
I just bought a second-hand QV830 and I am in the same situation as you, wishing to get a custom ROM at hand.
So I thought about making a custom ROM but this is obviously a huge amount of work, especially if you have no experience in that.
From what I understand, one to compile a kernel with the right config. CM seems to have kernel for every device. I don't know if it's just different config or patched ones. Then integration of CM/android.
As for rooting, I simply used framaroot and choose Boromir, I think. Done ! I didn't even fear to brick it as I guess it just works or not. Am I wrong ?
To get a backup of current ROM, you just need to install a custom recovery like CWM with may be RomManager (?) (You don't even need root)

Thank you, zebul666 I managed to get the tablet rooted with Framaroot and Boromir setting, just as you said, but I'm still struggling to backup the current ROM. ROM Manager reboots into boot menu, but there are no backup options, only reboot device and reset ones.
Flashify app backs up current kernel and current stock (both weights 6.0 MB).
Also tried to copy /system folder with ES File Explorer with root permissions, but it always stops copying on run-as file.
Will keep trying, but if/when I will succeed, I have no clue what I'll be doing next
I understood that if you flash CWM with ROM Manager, this new recovery should enable you to make the nandroid backup. Has it failed for you or you did not do it ? I have not.
Now that you have root, you can already directly tweak the setup without custom ROM. For example, i have removed that annoying loud sound when it boots by renaming /system/media/bootaudio.mp3
If you wan to go the custom ROM way, there is tutoriel in this forum on how to compile a kernel and customizer rom

Yes, I have had xposed on this device and it works well but you have to be cautious as to what you do because if you happen to mess it up, the fact that we haven't figured out how to put CWM on you can't flash the xposed recovery zip. So min short yes but be careful.
