[Q] Almost there, GApps on Huawei S7-601w - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I have the Huawei S7-601w, mind the w in the product name. It's a Huawei Mediapad 7 Vogue BUT the wifi only version (no cell or 3G). This version is only sold in China where I currently live, so only a Chinese ROM is available. And as you might know, a Chinese ROM means no GAPPS.
I tried to flash a WW rom of a 3G version (T for the chinese 3G and U for the WW 3G) but that didn't work out well.
Next, I tried to root it. Nowadays that's easy with any one click root software. SRS Root and OneClickRoot didn't work, I found this site with recommends the "Da-Shi" root progam. Please DO use google translate if you want to follow the link . I hit some lucky clicks in the program and got my tablet ROOTED. Hurray for me.
Next I installed ES File Explorer and downloaded the GApps for my android version, which is 4.2.1. I was a bit suprised to find all the google apps already in the /system/apps/ folder. If they are in this folder, why are they not installed automatically when booting?
Anyway, I installed all the necessary android apks
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
GoogleLoginService.apk
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
OneTimeInitializer.apk
Phonesky.apk
GSMCore.apk
GMail2.apk
GSM_Maps.apk
PlusOne.apk
YouTube.apk
This made Maps, Local, Navigation, Gmail, Google+, Messenger, Youtube and Google Settings WORKING.
Furthermore Contacts, Calender, photos etc.. are syncing without problems. :good:
The only thing which is not working is the Play Store itself. It is starting up correctly and does not crash. I only get the "No Connection - Retry" screen.
The easy solution here would be to clear the cache, remove Play store updates, etc... but I tried all of that. A nice overview can be found in this post.
also, sometimes, mainly when I open Play Store, I get the message "Unfortunately, the process com.gapps has stopped.
Quite a story,now my question.
So, I got this far. Any ideas to get this running completely?
Thanks in advance

[Q] [REQUEST] google talk files

i'd need the original google talk apk of the 2.1 firmware.
I've tried with some Talk.apk around the web, but they do not work. so please attach all the google talk related file in /system/app (Talk.apk gtalk.apk? gtalkservice.apk ImService.apk?)
thanks.
..you should mention the version of 2.1 you have, there is a risk that it will not fit if you use for example the files from Nordic in UK version.. I had that problem with different apk.
I can post you ones from UK version if you have the same.

Well, since you didn't tell us which versions of the Google apps you're trying to install, that's my first guess on why you are having issues. Second thing to check is making sure that they are installed in the correct folder and set with the right permissions. With 4.4.2, Google Play should be installed to /system/priv-app , not /system/app like previous versions. Make sure to set permissions on all /system apps to 0644. Once you get Google Play and sync and all that set up, just install the normal Google apps you can get from the Play Store through there such as Maps, Gmail, Hangouts, etc.
AnThere is no problem

Final tweaks: Google Play Music, and English UI

[SOLVED! Please jump to my last response in this thread]
Hi All,
So I just picked up the Honor X1 (a.k.a Mediapad X1) (Chinese version) of this awesome device. I love everything so far, with a few exceptions.
DISCLAIMER: I looked ALL over the web, including but not limited to XDA and google, but didn't see anything relevant and/or that worked.
So here goes. Hopefully someone has more of a clue than I do of how to get things working
1.) Google Play music doesn't work. When I try adding an account, I immediately get the "Couldn't sign in - There was a problem communicating with Google server. Try again later". Message. Note that it doesn't actually attempt anything. It goes immediately to to this message. Yes I have an active data connection (wifi and 3G are both working), Yes I installed google play services (march 16th 2015 build), and google play music (march 16th 2015 build), and went through the "App center" and tried to install everything (except google plus. See item #2 below)
2.) Google + fails to install with a "silent install failed". I also tried downloading the APK and it just says it fails to install. I do not care at all for google + but I want multiple google accounts which is why I am trying this.
3.) Multiple google accounts? especially for hangouts, email, and google play music?
4.) The UI is all in Chinese. I know this is to be expected, but I was hoping there would be some way to force it into all-english. (Please note: I am NOT rooted).
5.) Any way to install GasBuddy? THANX!
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU

Salam ya Basha! Shukran for the response.
I actually did try rooting, but everywhere I looked the information says use RootGenuis which fails at the last step (one tough phone), and if i click the "root manually" button it takes me to a dead link to a page in Chinese.
Any idea how I can succesfully root this to start with?
Also, did you by any chance figure out how to change the UI into something more usable (Arabic is an option but I prefer English)
Mashkooooooor

Thanx! Rooting worked via VROOT, although my laptop is now loaded with spyware / malware I can't seem to get rid of.
I installed Google plus (via sideloading the APK. It didnt show up in the play store), which gave me multiple accounts (by following the link you provided).
I also got Google play music to work. After installing G+, I had to remove the google account and re-add it, and voila google play music works.
For the benefit of others:
1. Root (via Vroot/iRoot but watch out where you download it from)
2. Follow the guide to install the google maps via a root-enabled file explorer (I used root explorer)
3. Reboot
4. Remove all google accounts and re-add them
5. Launch google music and set up normally
I will mark this as solved. THANX
Thanx!

HONOR 6A DLI-TL20 from china Google Login, Google Play Store not working

At the beginning I would like to say that I have spent 2 days on searching and trying without results. I have been dealing with other China phones and I was able to make Google Services working without much problem in the past.
But now I have 2pcs Honor 6A phones (they are different only in software version)
Android: 7.0
EMUI: 5.1
Firmware version: Delhi-TL20C01B121 and Delhi-TL20C01B130
I have tried to install standard set of APKs downloaded from APK mirror, like:
- Google services
- Google Login Service
- Google Services Framework
- Google Calendar
- Google Calendar Sync
- Google Contact Sync
etc.
And I have tried many versions, every time returning to factory setting before testing new set of version. Installation completes but Google Play Store does not launch, it exit with error: “Install core GMS packages to use Google Play Store”. You Tube works but when I add account it freezes or it does not make anything.
I also tried GMSInstaller from Huawei, unfortunately installation stops at 5% with error: “Software install Failed!”
I also manually extracted from GMSInstaller following files:
- GmsCore.apk
- GoogleLoginService.apk
- GoogleServicesFramework.apk
- Phonesky.apk
Most of them installed but GmsCore.apk fails install due to parse error.
Im really out of ideas, there is very little info about this phone online (apart from commercial info), which is strange because is quite popular budget phone in China. And I thing this thread will get quite popular.
I would like to ask You for Help!
Can you solve your problem? I just got the same model
