I'm sharing this and hoping some talent developers could help to leverage this SDK for 3rd party apps for rooted LG G2.
In my opinion it is another great multi-tasking approach.
This is fantastic and a very good move from LG!

Finally they did something right lol. Hopefully we see a few new or current apps take advantage of it.

That's great! Both QSlide and QRemote SDK. :good:
Quick question
I was wondering if there is away to run these apps/operating systems on other android platforms like the HTC One? If not, have developers ever thought about making that happen?

I will let you know that there is not a lot of love around here for adfree (at least there weren't in the Hero forums. This is how devs make their money and eliminating them is akin to you taking something the devs gifted you for free and slapping them in the face with it.
That said, I don't know the answer to your question since (as you can tell from the previous paragraph) I have never used it.
U made me feel bad that's true .
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Had it with my Droid x and didn't slow it down any. Personaly ads should never have been aloud. It ruins the whole experience. I'm all for having a mobile experience adfree. If devs don't like people blocking ads make free version limited vs full with ads. Otherwise deal with it.
I'll add I'm not a cheap skate. I've got many paid apps. It's just I REALLY hate Ads. I don't install any games with ads except fly dragon. To good to pass up.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
I think adfree only edits your hosts file; so, as long as adfree isn't running it won't slow down the phone.
After you have add free up and running you can kill the app via app mamger. Also add free shouldn't effect the speed of your phone. Keep an eye on the apps that are running.

Hello Guys. When will there be a new Update to the official Facebook app?
The last one was 5 October. This cant be real...
Maybe they figured the facebook app is so crappy its not worth upgrading

I find it absolutely disgusting that we can't even call the official Facebook app decent. I ditched it a long time ago for Friendcaster Pro. It's way better but has an uglier UI imo. Do the Facebook app developers think so little of Android?

I think theyre just lazy with the android version, i just cant beleive they cant get it right after all this time, how many times can a developer fail

For me it would be okay if they release something which is comparable with the iphone version
It sucks to the max, cant even comment on status or photos... Using the mobile version...

Might be a good thing cause every time they do an update it get worst.
The facebook app is just a scam. Pathetic. The iOS version has always been better and ever since the iPad update, it's been way ahead. Practically every good popular app out there is more advanced for iOS. Look at foursquare for example....
This is so unfair. Ive read that the iOS Facebook app will become a new Interface and also the TImeline feature within the next 3 Weeks...
Friendcaster is 100 times better than stock facebook app. I just love it,, quick notifications plus superb screen display...easy scrolling,,, no laggg
But friendcaster has no embedded chat etc.
Lets hope this app becomes better soon..
The Play Store lists GTA: Vice City as not compatible with my LG-E970. Yet, GTA: III is compatible, and Vice City is even it is compatible with my Acer A500 with a measly Tegra 2. I can't for the life of me understand why this game wouldn't be compatible with the OG.
Anyone have any insight into this?
Not sure either. My tegra2 will play Sims 3 but my LGOG won't /:
I think it's the company that releases the apps. They probably block certain devices. Not sure why though
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
The most confusing thing about this is that it's compatible with the Nexus 4 ! It's literally the exact same hardware, creating a port seems like an extremely easy task for Rockstar to do. Perhaps LG has to communicate with the publishers, regardless it's very disappointing to know that my superior phone can't run the same games my friends can for no valid reason.
Anyone think a build.prop edit would change that problem?
This is the email I got from rockstar last week
Hello Xorrito,
We apologize for the long response time on your support ticket.
Unfortunately your device is currently not officially supported. A list of officially supported devices can be found at
Due to the number of devices currently on the market, it is difficult to verify the compatibility of all devices. We are currently in the process of testing new devices, and will make GTA available for download to these devices when testing is confirmed as working properly.
We recommend staying tuned to this article and official Rockstar Games press releases such as rockstargames.com/newswire for the definitive updated list of supported devices. This way you will be alerted if your device does become officially supported in the future.
We apologize for this inconvenience and if you have any further questions, comments or concerns feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help in any way we possibly can.
Cheers,
Brad

at&t optimus g phone not supported aka AT&T LGE LG-E970
How come this phone is not supported while the nexus 4 is?
They have the same hardware.....:{
Xorro78, thanks for sharing that email. It's kind of weird Rockstar wouldn't test the comparability with our flagship phone. Hopefully soon.
MrZim4, if you try a build.prop edit please let us know the outcome. I'm guessing it'll work as long as it tricks the Play Store into thinking the OG is an N4.

Have you tried changing build.prop to a different or similar LG or another android phone/tablet that is compatible with this game that also has similar hardware I would almost bet the dual core snap dragon android phones will work just edit the device name in build.prop unfortunately they don't update the device compatibility fast enough per app/game but this mod should work, it has in the past say for example to play certain games on the HTC one x I had to change device name to replicate another android I think the HTC one s and compatibility issue went away in market. I'm actually looking to do this for gameloft live which lol is not compatible with this device but will work.

If you really want to get GTA VC working you'll have to download the apk and sd data from a 3rd party site. I've tested this and it works fine. Only do this if you have previously purchased GTA VC on the Google market.

Stplerz, that's a good idea. I'll buy it on my A500, and look for a 3rd party site to dl the apk afterwards.

And for the sake of others please don't take this the wrong way! Devs spend days and days developing apps.. Don't F them over..

Agreed. Which is why I never pirate these apps. It's much more fun to find a legitimate work-around.
Yes! GTA 3 works in LGOG whit build.prop edited to nexus 4.

Purchase and install it on your A500 then pull the apk from /data/app and the obb folder from internalstorage/Android/obb and copy them to your phone in the corresponding folders. I think the asec file might be needed, too.

Go and get yourself a Nexus 7, it's one of Canonical's targeted development devices.
I use my phone for making calls and other mundane but critical daily functions, so I am leery about experimenting with my phone; however, it's a different story with my n7 tablet. I can flash any available ROM and do unspeakable things to it and I am able to maintain my level of service for daily living.

There are two separate products.
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...buntu-for-phones-coming-soon-to-galaxy-nexus/
Ubuntu for Android which was announced about a year ago or so.
Ubuntu for Smartphones was announced yesterday and is a different product.
U4A = a dual boot type environment. when you are walking around it's an Android phone...when docked it's a full fledged Linux OS.
U4S = a full fledged Linux OS...no android at all.
i would love to see this in action. i expect the Carriers to be a big hurdle. AT&T and Verizon will not want to give up control over the handhelds on their network. but just like the ISP has no control over your device's in your home, i hope the consumers can eventually push hard enough that the Carriers go the same route. but to date AT&T still makes the manufacturers lock down their devices and if they could they would revert back to the days when rooting your phone was illegal.

It's not even released yet, and it'll definitely be closed source, i.e same as Google Now, which is pretty impossible to "rip", so no, i wouldn't count on it.
