CM11 weekly build - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Due to popular demand, I'm moving my CM11 builds out to a new thread.
#include <standard_disclaimer.h>
Coming from CM10.x (or JB/ICS 4.3 and previous), this cannot be dirty-flashed. Factory reset and wipe /cache, /system, and /data.
Can be dirty-flashed from CM11.
TWRP won't work. Requires CWM 6.0.4.3 or higher
This is a plain-vanilla CM11. No extra commits on this build. If you dirty-flash on top of one of Jamie's P-builds, you'll lose all the Uber-Kernel functionality.
Use the Skyrocket changelog for information on what's changed on these builds:
http://www.cmxlog.com/11/skyrocket/
Right now, the big issues are common with ALL CM builds:
Video recording not working
LTE not working on SOME carriers
Trebuchet launcher was re-integrated into the main CM build tree, but it's not working on this build yet.
-blaine

Here's the link to the last build. I'm done with this project. It was a fun ride.
http://d-h.st/ThGh
Kernel link:
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_msm8660-common
(all the old links were dead: DevHost had deleted all the files.)
(The thread remains for the info, but the links won't be reposted.)
-blaine

I'm building these on a weekly basis. I'm trying for Fridays, but that may not be set in stone.
Besides not having time to do nightlies, the sheer number of changes going in on a daily basis is astonishing. As with CM10.0 and CM10.1, the volume of changes at this early stage in the game means that stability is not a priority. Weekly builds give a little more time to figure out exactly where the bugs are (true problems versus problematic flashes and downloads), and my laptop a rest.

This is very cool...So far this build has been running very well for me today...I even have camcorder working with JB+ camera...
I'll ask my question from the previous thread. Has anyone been able to get long press of the home button to display the app switcher? If so How?
Thanks again Frankenbiker!!!

Is this a new rom for us or a continuation of Jaimie's? Just wondering if a dirty flash is possible from his p15?

This is a plain-vanilla CM11 build.
I don't believe there's any reason why you could not dirty flash over Jamie's builds.
However, I'm not building his UberKernel so you'll lose all that functionality.

Hmmm..that's odd...I completely wiped before flashing the ROM twice and this feature was not working from the beginning for me..I couldn't get it to work even after loading gravity box in exposed..
Maybe I'll have to try downloading the ROM again. Although I doubt its a bad download as everything else is working so well..I may wait a few days to test as I can use an app switcher app from the market.
Can anyone else confirm that the default android app switcher is working for them?

I did dirty flash as well and did not encounter any problems. Pretty nice build.
CM11 camera recoding does not work as stated but external apps do work. I use "A Better Camera" and it works. It has several seconds delay before starting recording but after that everything is fine and recording is playable. Tried 720p and 1080p. Read that JB Camera + worked as well but did not try myself.
As for LTE it just does not stick for me after *#*#4636#*#* LTE/GSM selection. Others do not have this problem. May be modem related. In CM10.2 LTE/GSM/WCDMA was available in settings and I did not have to do dialer trick. In CM11 only 3G and 2G options are available. Still works fine with LTE after dialer trick. And without it it defaults to HSPA+ which is pretty fine for most usages.

Thanks for keeping this up and running!
If you aren't sure then do it twice!

NFC anyone?
So has anyone gotten NFC or Google wallet tap to pay to work? Or is it just me?

I dirty flashed this over P15, was getting some random reboots on P15, maybe one a day, but on this I now have about 4-5 a day in the middle of phone calls and all.
Anyone else seeing this, or should I just clean flash this?

You can try flashing uber kernel and see if that helps. I've been running it on this rom all week with only the occasional reboot.

NFC seems to work fine. I can send and receive photos to and from my wife's S3.
Has tap to pay worked with our phone on any ROM? I thought there was some security feature missing that precluded this...or at least made it something you wouldn't want to try.

I've been considering flashing uber over this ROM just to get the Wheatley governor. I found that it completely eliminates the wake from sleep issue on jamie's ROMs..I assume that it will do the same here..only one way to find out!

I dirty flashed over P15 with usual cache wipe. Ithink I had just one reboot in last week. But even that looked like app problem. I do not recall any reboots in last 5 days.

Installed fresh wiped with newest gapps. Had a few reboots so far. Usually after a phone call. Also noticed Bluetooth randomly disconnected but reconnects. Weird. Seems to have stabilized for now.

Battery charge does seem to be a LOT slower. And wifi keeps going in and out for me. Other than that, pretty flawless so far. No reboots to speak of and everything seems smooth. I also did fresh install.
Eager to try this out but don't want reboots, BT or Wifi issues!
I get; no torch, slider short cuts won't remove, and focal photo sphere doesnt work. Working good though can't wait to see it mature.

just throwing this out there.............I have never done nightlies..........hmmmmmmm
isn't it kind of like being married? would this be waking up with same ROMan every morning? (anybody get it?)
do nightlies seem to get issues resolved on a quicker basis? not that I have had any yet with the 4.3's I have run so far. actually pretty impressed so far.
Depending on your style of life (and view of marriage) it's more like being married but waking up with a different sister every morning. Problems may be resolved faster on nightlys (or not truthfully) but new ones are likely to arrive just as quickly. Plus we
are warned not to send in bug reports because being nightlys they are supposed to have bugs. I never completely understood that because we seem to be an ideal audience from which to get feedback. But those seem
to be the rules.

really, waking up with a different sister? are you from the south?
you would think nightlies should be more stable. sounds like its a yes but no? which makes it a personal preference and what are you willing to tolerate or sacrifice? pretty much like everything else.
it makes things more sporting anyway. after a month on the most solid ROM my phone has ever been on, I was getting bored.
I just keep following the forums, trying different nightlys, and wait for that gem that comes along and everything works like a dream. Those gems are few and far between sometimes, but usually worth the wait. And so far, 10.2 is off to a good start!

Leaving mobile data on when screen off

As soon as I shut my screen off, mobile data turns off.
I'm not getting email or FB notifications because of this and I've looked high and low to find a setting for this, but I'm not seeing it.
I'm not using any of the power saving settings.
Anyone have a clue what might be going on?

You can use Tasker to do this, Evo. State->display off->mobile data off.

Did you try flashing a different kernel or dirty flashing the rom.
Your sig says your probably on hyperdrive. This is odd behavior for a touch wiz rom. I have seen this on AOSP.
I would almost bet something has gotten stomped on.
Does this happen regardless of toggling airplane mode, or rebooting, or changing mobile network settings?

I am on Hyperdrive - says that a few posts up, too.
I'm on stock optimized kernel on HD - and have ran that kernel since it's been available. I'm not one for switching around kernels - too buggy for me
What I've done is set Tasker to always keep mobile data on when at cell near work. This works and doesn't appear to have much of a detrimental effect on my battery life.

Stock Optimized does run nice on HD.
Honestly I'd dirty flash the rom.
If it didn't clear up, I'd nandroid, back up apps and reflash.
Like you the best I can tell this is not normal behavior on HD so I'd say it has to do with your setup, how it flashed, what you installed, the tweaks that were done, etc...
But you also have a work around in place. I know sometimes for myself I cease to care about what the problem is or what has caused it if I have a viable work around.
I'd say your call all the way on this one.
Or heck if your a flashaholic like me, nandroid and flash something else to see if it happens there too. Eclipse TW 2.0 and Dirty Unicorns are my favorites right now, both running really solid, with exceptional battery life. DU if you like ultra customization like hyperdrive and like aosp as well. I like me some Hyperdrive as well, but those are the 2 that have my attention @ the moment.
Sorry not more help, but that is just one of those weird bugs you could chase forever.

Also, thanks for the work, broseph. Glad you're not abandoning us with the Note III being out and everything.

if you take the OTA when it comes, you risk never being able to root your phone again. pretty sure the s4 still doesnt have root. you should just wait till the OTA is released and a rooted version is released.
Dirty flashed on the original 4.4 base. Had some FC's. Restored CWM backup, but lost all modem/IEMI settings. Reverted to TWRP to restore an older backup from that recovery. Got my signal back, then clean flashed this and restored my apps.
Aaand made an EFS backup. Never be caught without an EFS backup is the moral of the story. The home button preview is enough for me to take the time to flash it. Much appreciated. Anxiously awaiting the hybrid settings!
whats the difference between signed zip and signed zip md5 on the gapps files?
Is cwm 6.0.4.3 the latest because that's what I used and mobile data got broke. I don't understand why it does that. Select apn is greyed out and wont let me select. Also under data usage there no option to turn on data.

Here is something that's worked for me before to fix no 4g: go to dialer, dial *#*#4636#*#* , go to phone info, then change preferred network type dropdown to lte/CDMA auto. 4g should toggle on and you are good to go. I have found mine switched to something else a few times when I only had 3g.

[Q] Does your epinter cm10.1 gets stuck?

I installed the epinter cm10.1, and it is awesome!
But the phone randomly reboots frequently.
So I installed the latest kernel of Olympus Kernel Project. By latest, I mean the latest one from the dropbox link.
Then the randomly reboot is almost gone, if not completely!
However, the problem I have now is that the phone gets stuck a lot, either while I am using it or sleep, and when it freezes, it heats up a lot.
So my question is: is it only I have this problem, or you are also experiencing similar problems?
---------------
About the kernel, I've tried the 0217, 0222, 0319 and the 0327 ones. They all have problems of either randomly reboot or freezing on my device.

Fully stable, yes, go back to 2.3.6. All 4.0+ ROMs have the 3.1.10 kernel and thats still in development. Its almost at the point we need it to be at.

Well, I just like the cm10.1 so much so I do not want to go back at all. If we all have this problem, I will just stick to it...:good:
Thanks.
Well, I do not expect this ROM to be completely stable or something, but is there anyone having the same problem(sleep of death)?

I am confused. Isn't this a thread of a rom ?
How should I use this fix?

It's not the ROM thread, it's a specific post from that thread.
Now look at the attachments in that post.
Guys, that "deep sleep" is a feature of motorola's ics, it's the equivalent to suspend on a pc. It has nothing to do with android's deep sleep while idle.
Here is a screenshot of that deep seep mode option activated on my atrics, it reads Reposo.

Oh! In this case, I don't need "deep sleep", I just want it not to get stuck.
finally
hello
i was a long time fan of xda for my atrix 4g mb860
i try a lot of roms to use ICS or JB
but until now not luck
but the lats week i try the last stable roms for epinter and use the lastest kernel (3.1.10....27)
the atrix work great
no deep sleep death
no data lost signal
every is ok
just the tango video call is up side (al reves)
thats the only thing that is a bug
i will try to upload the log but don't know how to get it
No prob, the devs aren't got there yet. Just a minor correction, any rom beyond gingerbread is alpha, or beta at the best. But far from stable. Things will go bad with these roms, and no one is responsible for what might happen to your phone (or cat)

Really? I have sleep death all the time and random reboot now and then... WHY:crying::crying:
I tried to increase the minimum CPU frequency, and the stuck problem seemed to happen less often. However, the reboot problem became more often.
I also tried to change wifi during sleeping setting.
Let's see how it works...
Iv'e been using CM 10.1 for about six months and i rarely got my device stuck and heated up. I did get my phone stuck every time a tried to play Leauge of Shadow game.
Try to see what apps are using causing your device to freeze and stop using them (if there is, shouldnt be too many of them).
About phone getting heated up, try to remove FastDormancy.apk from /system/app/FastDormancy.apk. Epinter himself posted a warning about phone heated issue this might help.
Good luck.
Problems with Spotify
Hi guys!
I'm new here so, sorry if i'm posting in the wrong place
I flashed CM 10.1 (now CM 7) on friday and everything was doing well before i try to use spotify.
When i lock the screen, my phone get freezed and then reboots.
Someone has this issue?
Edit: Solved with the kernel: kernel-2014_07_04_22_37_cm10_1.
Ps: the lastest build of kernel doesn't work on my phone(bootloop).

[Rom] jd's open aosp builds [LYZ28E] [July 13,2015]

Instead of creating a flashy op with lots of colors and texts sizes with lots of logos and banners I'm going to keep this very simple, and short.
This rom is basically my modification of the Android Open Source Project. It is my vision of a "perfect android", which is clean and works like it should.
The modifications I've made are just simple things to make "stock" AOSP more usable, my feature set is small basically I just added a "close all apps button" to the "recents" screen and added more functionality to the AOSP Music and Voice Dialer apps as well as remove some of the old Google code from the Calendar and Gallery2 apps. I plan to do a little more as I see it "useful" and "needed", but for the most part this will mainly stay a very pure AOSP rom.
So as far as I have tested everything works (including AOSP MMS) if something is broken let me know and also keep in mind that anything rom you flash should be treated as beta software so don't expect gold when I'm offering wood.

P.S.
Don't expect a change log, that would be more professional than I'm willing to be for the cost of free .....
Urgh.... No fireworks in the OP?
Great, at last something original.
Running great man! Thanks for sharing your work! Is there any way or even possible to make a flashable zip to have smart lock? Again thanks for sharing!
Great to see another ROM thrown in the ring. Will have to try this without all the glittery stuff. Hope you stay awhile
Can any one comment on WiFi calling?

I never really leave I just do ish like buy iPhones or a Galaxy something then get pissed cause its not what I want ...
this is a very nice treat! thanks a lot for this original work. it seems very stable for me.
Downloading now and thanks for the ROM. I was looking for no frills ROM exactly like this. Bookmarked this thread as favourites.
OK so this more might be due to me being on the M v2 boot loader, radio and boot.img.
When I flashed this, to test WiFi calling, it said I had no OS installed in twrp. I rebooted anyway, M says the same thing, and when it booted up it started encryption. I do not want to be encrypted so I rebooted and had to format.
So, idk? Anyone have a successful none encrypted flash?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
It sounds like you did an advanced wipe and wiped the system which is why twrp threw the no os message and as far as everything else I haven't messed with m and probably won't until its released
Any screenshots?

Yes I did as I was coming from M. So you have this set to flash like an OTA then?
Still, not trying to be a ****, you should have in the op that it will encrypt.
M is nice but it has many issues. I'm going go back to 5.1.1 and flash your ROM w/ an non encrypting boot.img.
Appreciate the work and replies.
