After my Sony Tablet S updated automatically to 4.0.3 ( release 5 a) Baseband Version R3B01, I have been unable to connect to the internet even though it shows full network for my phone [there's no problem with the internet connection]. I tried using the S.onyTablet.S [ALLinONE] v6.5 & 6.4 but it just stayed on at the waiting for device mode.
I then tried using the reboot option on the bat file. It then said error. Device not found!
Any ideas on how to get fix this?

I’ve been following this forum for quite some time but never had anything smart to say or ask before today. So this is my first post and call for help in the same time!
I have Sony Tablet S32GB Wi-Fi only, purchased in UAE (Model: SGPT112AE/S).
Used S.onyTablet.S v2.4 [FLASHER] to upgrade from Honeycombto R5A and now I’m stuck with device showing SONY logo and not booting further! The only (at least for me) unexpected moment during the flashing process was several force close dialogs that popped-up on the tablet while flashing current sys and a message “Cleaning up...” (after “Finished!”) that took more than 20 minutes so I’ve restarted tablet manually.
During the process I’ve picked “FLASH hidden.img from thisstock fw version” option.
Now when power-on device, boot process stops at SONY logo. I can use adb shell in both, normal and recovery mode (device status is recovery and shell commands are very limited) - device is recognized. Using S.onyTablet.S [ALLinONE] v5.3 or FLASHER again, reports the same: ‘su’ binary not found. You need ROOT to use this function.
In recovery mode it states “Android system recovery (Rev.10)<3e>”and I can run option “Update system from SD card”. I downloaded updates from condi’s Google Drive and for both, encrypted and decrypted fws, error is the same: “E: Prohibit update as a result of checking version or base sku/Installation aborted.”; for custom prerooted fws error is “E: failed to verify whole-file signature/E: signature verification failed/Installation aborted.”.
I would be more than grateful for any help or suggestion how to proceed and recover my dear Tablet!

UH OH . Nah not really.
You are meant to have ICS before using flasher!!! Hence your issues. easy fix though.
Click on the first link in my signature. Search for Saudi Aribia? AE model???
Copy to SD
You will need to boot into recovery and select the file from recovery to install.
Then root using AiO, then use flasher to get R5a
Happy travels
Stifilz
Stifilz, thank you very much!
I did exactly what you said and now Tablet is on R5A and rooted! :highfive:
Saudi Arabia fw worked like a charm for my AE model; there were some problems with ADB drivers and when I solved that – AiO and Flasher finished job perfectly! :victory:
Once again, THANK you and I wish you great and fruitful year!

Hello guys,
Ive been lurking here for a while and i finally thought about joining the gang.
I cant find the LG E510 thread here so please move my thread if this place is inappropriate. Thank you.
I updated this E510 via the LG mobile support software and the install [after downloading firmware] got stuck at around 4% then at 14%
The software prompted me to remove the phone from connection, pull out the battery then try again. Now its stuck at boot screen.
I can start up the "Emergency Mode", where its the only way my PC can recognize the device connected. I tried using the LG software again but i get this:
Hard reset is said to be VolDown + Home + Power On yet it doesnt work, only gets to logo.
This is an unrooted phone that why i used LG-provided update software.
THe PC can detect the devices and installed drivers. The software can too, but this error is persistent.
A friend said something about disabling the LG modem in the device manager but i still get this error.
I have ADB which i used sometime ago with my HTC but the ADB says device not found.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you very much.
*** SOLVED
I dont know what exactly made it work but i did the following.
Disabled [not uninstall] all other devices installed by the phone except the LG Android Platform
- disable and restart. if uninstall is used windows will just install it again after restart. disable.
- may be a problem with my PC that it has difficulties connecting with the phone if the other child devices are on
Uninstalled the Update Software and Installed it again
This time i clicked Options > Update Recovery
- prompted for my Phone Model + SN or just the IMEI <- brainfart on my part shouldve seen this earlier
The software downloaded the exact same firmware V10H_00.kdz and installed it. Success!
Maybe there was something bad with the first one i downloaded being on WiMax connectivity.
I feel so stupid right now being unobservant and all...
Anyway thank you!
Hi everyone,
I have a Sony Tablet S with Android Version 4.0.3 release 5a and I am having problems with the Android Software, the programs such as browser, games even android base applications keep crashing. The device is still under warranty and I sent it for repair however the service here requested around 100$ for software installation as it is not under warranty. This is too much for me so I decided to do it myself however. I have searched this forum and many more to find a solution however even I have tried every step described in forums several time I could not be able to reinstall latest ROM from SD Card. I really desperately need some help here as this device is purchased solely for my daughter who loves android games alot.
I really appreciate any help you may provide.
Thanks.

hello,
try a hard reset. hold VOL up + POWER and when you see the logo sony release the VOL up button. then choose a factory reset. do not have to install from sd card.
Already tried hard and soft reset. Doesn't work.
I will try to describe the problem in full detail. I have weird error messages like "Google Play Store stopped working" "browser stopped working" "clock stopped working" and such error messages and when I try to uninstall programs i can uninstall them however when the tablet restarts they are all there, I think machine resets it self. If i try to uninstall a program called "Ustream" the tablet immediately goes off, and restarts resetting it self again. Even the soft and hard reset can not solve the problem. I have tried to boot the device, it says it is booted (I have managed to run adb and flash tools) how ever when the tablet restarts it again resets it self having the exact same situation as before. I have downloaded the official R5A update from the Sony Website when ever i try to install update from SD, the machine stops saying the operation is aborted due to some error. There must be a way to reset this machine to what ever it was.

If you have adb, you can try to root tab and apply the backdoor patch.

I have already tried that. The adb, flasher and other tools that I have found in this site. All in one tool says it has succesfully rooted the device but whenever it boots it restores itself to a previous unknown backup with all the applications installed and I guess not rooted state. I have used the flasher yet it needs rooted device. I have tried to update the system from SD, it says the software is low version (5A). I can not do anything. There must be a solution for this.

After attempting root the tablet is rebooting into the other partition. (There are two system partitions). Can you try rooting again and on the last reboot boot into recovery and try to install R5a twice in a row without restarting from the recovery menu. Hopefully this will catch the system switch and install R5a on the other system

I think I have rooted the device asthere is a "device manager" in the security options. However adb programs fails to recognize the device. I have installed the driver several times, restarted the computer how ever it did not change. Last time I was able to see the device in the adb device list. But i do not know what I have done to achieve this as I have tired many options. Can you describe me how to do that step by setp?

After the update fail. Use adb pull /tmp/recovery.log and post it here and I will see what is happening
The flashing operation fails as the system can not access to the specified directory. Whenever I run the flashing tool the command windows background turns to red and I see this error. ADB can list the device yet I can not flash it.
By the way I have to reinstall all the drivers everytime I connect the tablet to PC, if I remove the cable and re mount it adb fails to list the device.

Be sure your s7-702 is rooted.
Install this tool VRCB CHANGER (Is in spanish but is very intutive)
Open the tool, grant root access and chage your VRCB from s7-702u to s7-701u then goto the huawei official download site and download the last firmware S7-701u, Android4.1, C232B005, General Version
After download, put the dload folder in the root of your microsd and reboot your mediapad. This process will install a fresh and updated rom in your tablet ( You must backup your data before )
With this your tablet must be ready to connect to wifi and to connect to mobile network without problems.
I recently picked up a the F-05e but it has ICS on it. I see that there is JB and downloaded the update but can't figure out what it should be named or where to put it for the built-in firmware update (power button + volume up) to see it and apply it. The file is called UpdatePackageFile.dat and I put it in the root of the SDCard but it says it can't be found. I can't read Japanese and the translate options don't appear to be helping me too much. I am using this page:
http://spf.fmworld.net/fujitsu/c/update/nttdocomo/f-05e/update2/top/index.html#heading02
If I try to follow the instructions on the above page, the tablet tells me "Software update is necessary for the Android system upgrade. Launch this application again after the update is done." When I try to do the software update, I get an error that says I must be connected to the Docomo network for it to work. "When docomo network is not available, or during roaming, software update is not available even if Wi-Fi is connected." It might be that the tablet can't be updated but it is worth a shot. If nothing else, the tablet can run a good percentage of Android software (Netflix, ereaders, not too heavy games, etc).
Any help is appreciated.
