Hi Guys, just seeking advice and possible quick answer to my question...
I have a UK Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE Variant (2Gb Ram) and I am looking for a KitKat Rom with MHL Support.
I understand I could find this information by looking through the forums but I am quite busy at the moment and any help would be appreciated.
I was a keen user of stock 4.1.2, and then moved to Omni Rom... but due to lack of MHL Support I require for my AppRadio I had to switch back to 4.1.2... and luckily not to soon later 4.3 came out for the SG3 from Samsung... but the battery drain is a lot worse than Omni Rom...
So yeh any advice guys?

maybe you should ask it in the I9305 Q&A section . what makes you assume that other people are not busy?
I got only a I9300, hence cannot point you to any rom, sorry.

Hi! Is there any ICS 4.0 ROMs for Samsung I9008L? It's a phone that I've recently bought in China and I realized that there are no official update for this phone as it's a China Mobile modified phone. If there isn't, is it possible for any pros to help make one? A search on Google shows that many users of this phone are asking for one too but to no avail, so I thought I'll ask on XDA since there are pros around. And, thanks in advance!
Hey Guys,
I used to have an S2,
But unfortunately due to a nasty accident,
I now lost it and its not working anymore...
Im thinking of getting an S3,
I am able to get the i9305 model cheaper than any of the others,
Can anyone please help me with some information here?
Will i be able to flash i9300 custom roms on it?
This is the baseband version on it: I9305DXALI7
What exactly is the difference with this and the more expensive i9300?
Thanks alot
What. The i9305 is cheaper? Link please. Anyways the i9305 is better in terms of specs like 2GB of Ram and LTE support, but in terms of development, it's behind... very behind. And no, you can't flash i9300 roms onto i9305.
I typed this by hand.
How do you know its not working if you lost it ????
jje
im really pleased with this phone but am going to have to be patient as the development of roms is only in its infancy:good:
Lol since you dont seem to know the difference i am assuming you dont know the difference in price. You can actually buy a i9300 for $500 brand new . Cheapest i seen the i9305 is around $740
The i9305 is an upgraded version of the i9300 how can it be cheaper lol

Hi guys, new to the forum and fairly new to android, I've got a galaxy s3 international version locked to the three network in the UK, I've been considering using a custom ROM but wanted to know your opinions?
Criteria for me are simple, I like the look of stock android so I want that or something similar, but I like the functionality of TouchWiz so would like to retain that if possible. The only other thing is the quick settings/toggles on the notification bar in TouchWiz, this is something I now cannot live without so it needs to have that or something similar (tbh i just like the auto rotate, wifi and brightness toggles).
Thanks in advance guys, look forward to your answers.
Chris.
Welcome to the forums. Always check the stickies before you post.

the best thing to do is to try different ROMs for yourself. Everyone has their own preference and no 2 rom set ups are exactly the same.

Thanks for the advice, ill look into some roms and try a few out, another question i have though is whats the difference between the android development forum, and the original development forum?
Also in regards to checking the stickies about asking which rom is best I did not ask that, I simply asked for a recontamination from experianced users to help me find a rom which suited my specification, it wasnt as simple as which rom is the best, it was more of a "which rom can provide these features" kinda thing.
Thanks for the help though appreciate it, cant help but think how much better/faster my s3 will be without the samsung software

It will be much better. :highfive: I will be closing this though, as it will turn into a best rom thread and "who has more features" or "whose is more stable". Best thing to do is read up and try.
Hey everyone,
I unwittingly bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo (I9301I) today instead of the I9300, and have been having a lot of trouble finding anything to flash onto it. I think I've found my answer already, but to be sure: am I correct in thinking that there's no ROM support for the S3 Neo out currently? No Recovery app and no ROM to play with? If I'm correct, can anyone tell me if there are plans currently underway to change this? Or perhaps it's possible to use ROMs meant for the I9300?
Kind regards,
Matthias
I appears not only you made this mistake... I also bought i9301i instead of i9300 (long story short - I knew it was "Neo", the old version i9300 was hard to get).
At this moment I'm looking for custom roms, but it appears to be "too fresh" device with no support from e.g. CyanogenMod team. There is a problem in different components (as a newbie I'm not allowed to post links, so I have to obscure it) devicespecifications dot com slash en slash comparison slash e1d42876 (link found on XDA forums).
Also - I think that there are too few people using i9301i, so chances for creating new subforum on XDA are... Slim.
That is some bad news

Hey nekr0, thanks for the first reply, I'm hoping we'll get some good news about this soon, I'd love to start trying out some ROMs on this nice device. Even if it's just one or two ROMs I'd be a pretty happy camper overall.
Cheers.
Dont worry too much.
Its only a matter of time to get some support from XDA. It wont be as populat as S3 flag, but something will be done for sure.
I have bought 9301 as well, and using it for a week now, unrooted. Phone seems to be a good value for money for me. Time will tell though.
I have noticed that many people are confused about S3, S3 Neo, S3 Neo+.
Either way, it seems we will get 4.4.4 on 9301, so keep calm and dont push it too hard. Kernel modifications are risky.

It's a nice device, I'm happy with the hardware, I hope you're right, I guess I'll just be patient and hope there'll be a developer who is willing and able to make the port.
Cheers.

I read this but is in italian http://www.optimaitalia.com/blog/20...ento-4-4-4-per-i-samsung-galaxy-s3-neo/165516
Yes, it is information about Samsung Galaxy S III Neo... But Samsung is misleading us with naming. There are 2 "Neos", sometimes it is Neo, sometime Neo+, sometime Neo Duos/Duo. In this article you linked, information is about i9300i - yes, two regions already have 4.4.4 update: SKZ (Kazakhstan) and TGY (Hong Kong), but this topic is about i9301i. This is not the same device.

I really hate Samsung' naming conventions, they're terribly confusing. But yes, this thread is about the i9301i specifically.
Good news for GT-I9301i owner: Rox bought that device and will develop/build universal root, cwm and cm for us!
:highfive:

That is some great news! I went to his/her user account, but there's no development thread for this yet right? If there is, could you link it, if there isn't could you tell me how you know this?

Hi everyone,
First thanks to the XDA community I'm new here, even if I know and use XDA forum for a while, and you have been always so helpful!
So I own a Samsung Galaxy S3 (i9305), actually running CyanogenMod. I have been looking for tuts or help, in order to port the UBUNTU Touch on my device (I'm quite a noob^^), but with no success... :-/ Apparently things are almost completed for the i9300, but nothing for the i9305, which would be quite different if I'm right...
Is there any news, or any projects to port Ubuntu on this device?
I'm not an expert, but I'll be happy to help in any possible way, for porting Ubuntu Touch to i9305. I know this device is popular (like other the S3 models), and I'm also sure this would be useful for a lot of people!
Thx in advance for your answers and your help (and sorry if my english is not so good...)!
Did you find a way for the Galaxy s4 i9500
Hi, here it is about the S3, which porting project seems to be, like for the S4, more or less abandoned... It is sad and I would be pleased to know the reasons, and if it is possible to "restart" at least some of those projects.
Anyone ?
Dont think so bud
Pretty sure very few currently unsupported or older devices will get ports, what few devs are available will work on more relevant devices. Time for a new phone..
Yes, apparently porting projects are mostly abandoned... That's sad I think, according to the still important part of potential adopters (like me ) who still have their "old" flagships, and do not necessarily want to buy a new expensive phone, at this point of the Ubuntu mobile OS evolution.... but maybe I'm the only one thinking that way?
