If it is NTFS, then I recommend Paragon. You will need to be rooted for that app. Otherwise, format your stick to FAT32 or EXFAT

Hi. I did a quick search, and couldn't find anything regarding using NTFS on my microSD card in my SGS2. Does anyone know if there's support for it yet, in any of the custom ROMs, or perhaps an app that auto-enables it?
first of all why do you need NTFS on a linux based OS?
One reason would be for watching HD movies, which are usually bigger than 4GB... or streaming them to a TV, same thing.

How about reading the question fully before belittling it? I saw that post too and it's only about mounting external HDDs, not with MicroSD's. It's not a solution if you have to run Terminal and re-mount it everytime you reboot your phone.

I'm pretty sure if it mounts it period it's a solution. You asked how to get support for NTFS, you never said "I want NTFS support in an easy way because I'm too lazy to use a terminal for my silly demands.".

I did think about that, but ext 4 partition isn't natively supported in windows machine, so it's not an ideal solution for me. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Is there a mod out there that mounts the external, removable micro sim card as the internal sdcard, and the internal as the external? I have a 32gb class 10 SD card and at this point it is practically empty because all of my nandroids are on the internal SD. It would rock if someone could make this and inwoukd definitely donate to the person who is willing to help. It is getting annoying because I am already almost out of space on my internal SD. Thanks in advance

I'm not sure how to answer your original question but you can move nandroid backups to your external sd card and if you need it, move it back later.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Yes i know that, but that takes too way too long and it is a pain in the ass. But thanks
what would possibly warrant posting this in the dev section?
I swear someone did this for the international. Or it may have been another phone I have but I know its been done. But even the Dec who wrote the script.to join the partitions said he wouldn't use it on a daily driver. I think it was just more a proof of concept

It can be done with CM7. There is a setting in there to swap the cards so that the internal will be emmc and external will be sdcard. Some people have accidently swapped them and didn't know how they did it or how to get it back to normal.

FAT32, which is the default for most flash thumb drives should work. You can get NTFS to work if you have one of the custom kernels available here on your phone.

Hmm, strange then.... I've been reading now that it should be exFat? I've no knowledge of any of these formats to be honest as I am not that technical minded.
My flash drive is Fat32 too so not sure why it won't work.....

Are you sure you got a working cable, I have the original one for the i9100 and all my flash drive and microsd with card reader works.
Now this is weird, just tried my flash drive again and it works! External HDD still not working though... Think I'll just reformat it to FAT32 again and see how I go, thanks for your help chaps..

Actually I haven't tried the HDD, will try it in a few hours and report back.
ExFat is also supported but people have reported bugs with it so if you don't need 4+gb large files, stick to fat32.

First of all, does MTP not work for you? Secondly, Easy UMS should work as well -- what is the error you are getting?
No, it doesn't work at all... when I try to transfer a folder with the saves in it to either the internal or external sd card it says 'cannot copy "..." the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. And when I tried to use easy ums it's would do one of two things, either it would kinda work (I could browse my ext sd card but it only showed the folders, not the files in them) or it would say something like 'cannot detect sd card. Maybe busy box isn't installed.?' I know for a fact that busy box is installed I actually did that earlier today after rooting my S3 of course.. lol what should I do? Maybe I'm using the easy ums in an incorrect way?

Sorry chaps what is this app called?
I`m also having issues with my GT-I9300. I have tried SGS# easy UMS, but get message about "Device not rooted" I`m not familiar with rooting. Please can someone suggest how I go about doing this. I need to sync certain apps using mass USB.
I migrated to Android from windows mobile & not familiar with these syncing terms. I have managed to sync with Kies & Companion link software, but unable to sync with E Wallet.
Thanks
Hey guys!
I'm starting a new thread because I been wondering if any Xda developers have found a solution for the new update jellybean 4.3. I been searching day and night to see if any one as successfully found a solution for this product problem. If anyone knows any method on unlocking the bootloader will be helpful. I seen Adam and he's XDA teams been working on some projects but I'm not sure if it's for the I605 ver. 4.3 note2.
you can pay 75 dollars to mobiletech for them to downgrade it for you. The remove the emmc chip and reflash it.... I might be testing a method soon but it seems kinda risky. You have to short a small resistor.
Can you elaborate on the resistor part?

roflcoptersoisoi- just an idea.... do you think it might work if you put your sd card in another phone and then hook that phone into your computer to connect it as a usb mass storage device? Maybe that would let you access the external sd card through the computer and use win32diskimager to write the image to the external sd card.

So win32diskimager would not recognize the sd card when you had the phone connected your computer? Darn. I was hoping that might work. Oh well, at least it was worth a try. I hope you figure something else out. Sounds like you might have to just go buy a cheap SD adapter.... or take Jorden up on the offer .

we got safestrap to boot roms atm. But you are limited to 4.3 touchwiz roms... So this still needs to be tested as we can use kit kat roms and future stuff that comes out

I would be happy flashing TW ROMs. Are you at the point where you can share what you have, or need someone to try it out?
Your bootloader is locked but there is a work around on xda where you can run your rom virtually and still keep stock rom just be careful about how you do this because you might brick your phone
