With Nova launcher long press home screen > shortcuts > activities. Scroll through and select what you want and it'll put an icon on your home screen. 271 choices in settings. Many don't do anything. Probably the easiest way to disable cabl.

I'd imagine it'd work on other third party launchers also, I just happened to use Nova. Some of the settings aren't even applicable to the g2. It appears that lg modified a different device's rom to use on the g2 or they have a master rom and select features and settings to be visible on each device. Who knows...

That probably wouldn't hurt.
Off topic: I just don't understand why people aren't rooted... The risk is minor and usually anything that could go wrong is fixable. Some people treat it like they're doing something illegal. Probably just don't want to put themselves in the position of having to ask for help and the possibility of being embarrassed. I'd rather break something just so I can learn something when I have to fix it.

theres more maintenance with a rooted phone
you cant just update the OS for example
rooting is definitely only for the tweakers
with that said, I cant ever imagine owning an unrooted android

Cabl tries to adjust screen brightness according to what is currently being displayed. When implemented correctly the user shouldn't notice much. However, some devices (the g2 being one of those) end up having screen flickering. Lg released updates to help with the issue, so your mileage may vary. Personally, I notice the flickering with low screen brightness on white background apps with pictures such as g+.

Other than pressing the home screen button is there a way to get the s pen to take you back to the home screen? Tried a quick Google search but couldn't find anything.
Only way right now is to buy GMD SPen Control from the market and create your own gesture.

Im pretty sure you can create your own gestures with out having to buy anything. Plus there is already a way to get to hime. But you have to draw the back button .ill look for it and post it here. With the way to create gestures
Go to settings... s pen..... s pen settings. There you can create a gesture or a function you want the s pen to do. Theres also s help page at the bottom when you scroll all the way down.

Me neither. Neat feature.
I have to say that I really am enjoying this latest version of Sense. It's a LOT less intrusive than past versions, and doesnt seem to have any major impacts on battery life.
It's like they took out all the crappy nonsense no one liked, allowed android to shine through where its better, and kept only the useful features of Sense. I like it.

For apps with long lists of items like music or messaging, you can scroll through by letter or date by using two fingers at once.
On the call screen before making a call. Press menu and you can open a fullscreen keypad for dialing
I know most probably know this but:
Once you fill up all 5 screens you can attempt to add another app or widget and it will populate a new blank screen for you. Also if you pinch to zoom at one of the home screens, it will give you an option at the top to add a panel (screen).

I don't want/need/feel comfortable rooting my device. So if you're trying to get more screen space, I just hid the notification bar in Nova Launcher.
I see an icon in the top left of my Samsung Mega that looks like a volume dial on a radio in my status bar. I searched everywhere, uninstalled loads of junk but not found anything that seems to remove it or affects it.
How can i remove it ?
Could you us a screenshot of what you are talking about?

Most icons that are in the upper left corner of the screen can be seen what it is by pulling the info bar down by putting your finger just above the screen by the samsung logo and swiping down and it should show some toggles for wifi etc and below that it should show what that icon is and just tap on it and it should go to it or show what it is..this might not work all the time..but 99% of the time it does.
