Authorizing a device while stuck in boot loop - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a Galaxy Nexus with the volume buttons spoilt (not functioning). It is rooted and running on AOKP's 4.4 rom. I accidentally installed the wrong kernel and while panicking, I wiped the data and davlik cache. Now, I am stuck in boot loop. Also, when I plug it into the computer, the phone is UNAUTHORIZED according to adb server.
Is there any way to authorize my phone without booting into the OS itself?
or
Is there a way to boot into bootloader/recovery without authorizing the phone and without using the physical buttons of the phone?

Unfortunately given the circumstances you've presented, you'd appear to be stuck like that unless you can get those volume buttons working. Because you can't get to the boot loader and recovery or get the phone to boot and even worse, adb not functioning, you're stuck that way. Unless someone knows something i don't, it's just the way it is.

Has anyone solved it out? Got really similiar problem. Stuck in bootloop + hardpressed vol up. Vol Down should work properly tough, but have to admit that problems occured using VOL Down or even power beacause of hardpressed VOL UP. My device (Htc ONE S - s4) is fully rooted, unclocked, etc.)
Is it possible that Bootloader got broke somehow?

[Q] Galaxy Tab 10.1 Stuck in Boot Loop

Hello everyone,
My Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 is stuck in a boot loop which only shows "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" on screen. I've tried pressing the power button to power down the device, but the screen will just go blank for a while and then the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" will show again. There is no way for me to go into download mode.
Any way to solve this problem?
I've tried and tried and finally got into download mode, used Odin to install a kernel. Everything runs OK, until it reboots. Then I see the logo again for awhile, suddenly it powers off, then unable to switch on anymore. I think the battery is dead, will try later after it is charged up.
Nobody seems to care about the issue I've face.
Anyways, been trying out all the solutions that I can find all around XDA, it turns out only "restocking" can solve my problem.
Re-flashed my tablet following the guide at Team Overcome's site.
Maybe these instructions will help
a while ago i got my tablet stuck in bootloop... after a lot of research... i fixed it and put the step by step here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329261
Let me know if it helps!
You should get a USB jig. It'll jump you into download mode. Unless that tablet doesn't use the mini usb... Which it might not. If you have a custom recovery on there, then wipe data, then install a new ROM

Hi - will a "USB jig " help me with my problem, or do you have any Suggestions?
I was flashing stock 4.0.4 ICS via Odin and unfortunately I walked away from my computer for a quick minute ... and my 3 year decided to unplug the tablet. I previously had CWM v.5???? - now I can see the download screen, then get to the OS warning screen.
Then when it says to hit volume up to continue and down to cancel ... I hit volume up and it goes into bootloop and when I hit down it goes into download load but Odin doesn't recognize it.
Note : I have to hit the opposite volume to even get into download mode.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
if im not wrong you can restore with kies, emergency firmware ....... or something like that, did you try?

By pressing volume down+ power but it doesn't work..
See, first of all you cant hard brick a phone so easily. When you install a rom you are just changing stuff in system partition. In worst case scenario your phone will get stuck on htc logo or bootloop but thats just a soft brick.
Even if you manage to change the recovery and kernel by installing the rom, you still cant hard brick it because bootloader is still there and you can use fastboot in it.
Most probably your case is of hardware failure. Try charging it for a day and dont disturb it. Then try to boot it. If it doesn't boot then go in the recovery.
If nothing works then I guess its time for replacement.

Hello
I think I bricked my Desire X (dual sim) too. I successfully rooted it. I then went into recovery mode to check the TWRP version I was running, and then I powered it down. Since then it won't turn on, or even go into bootloader mode. (tried both volume down + power button, and DOS method).
When it charges, the orange light comes on, and it vibrates three times every now and then.. don't know what that means. IS it possible to unbrick this? Please help.

You installed a recovery which is not meant for your device (because you have a different phone because you have a dual sim). The only solution is sending it to HTC

[HELP!!!!][Q] Unbrick A13 Tablet

I accidentally installed the wrong version of cwm on a softwinerEvb A13 model android 4.1.1 tablet. (I know dumb mistake - I have a few different versions I downloaded for different devices and I accidentally grabbed and flashed the wrong one with flashify app. Now I'm bricked as far as I know. I rebooted and it booted normally fine. Then I tried to boot into recovery (at this point I hadn't realized it was the wrong cwm version). The tablet just went to the boot screen and sits there. I held the power button to power down. devices turns off. then I tried booting back to normal and it gives me the same boot screen and sits there. I've tried every button combination and it just sits on the boot screen.
Any help or suggestion is much appreciated. Thank you very much.
Update: ADB won't recognize device. It just says "error: device not found" to every command I try.
What about fastboot?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have fastboot. It's not HTC or MOTOROLOA or any other manufacturer that uses fastboot, unless I'm mistaken about fastboot? Either way I've tried every hardware button combination and it doesn't get past the very first screen that shows up (happens to be android guy in a square in the middle of the screen)... from my understanding that means the kernel and the rom and recovery are not booting...? Am I bricked?

[Q]S3 bootloop, no recovery nor download mode

I'm using v40 of temasek unofficial cm11, Boefflea version 11 kernel.
while I was using my phone, the phone suddenly went into a reboot and started the boot-loop, even when I pull the battery out and put it back in it starts booting immediately and goes into the boot-loop , whenever I try to go into download mode or recovery mode, once or twice I will be able to reach it, but 3 seconds in, it restarts and goes into the boot loop again (I can't choose between restarting or going into download mode)
would a USB jig help me getting into the download mode or will it be 3 seconds in and restarts?
would a service center help me retain my data as I need them?
Thank you.
momentarily I've managed to be able to access download mode and the laptop started making a sound trying to identify the device, too bad the battery fell off (or the phone restarted) lol
anyways I still need help because I couldn't get into any of them
If the phone starts the moment a battery is inserted then usually the power button is stuck -try giving it a wiggle, or get it replaced.

yeah will do that once this gets fixed lol ..
for some awkward reason, I found out that once I pull out the battery I can use download mode
what should I download?
I tried flashing CWM but I get back to the bootloop ... should I install a newer bootloader?
No, bootloader is irrelevant to firmware. You would be best to flash a full stock rom with odin then factory reset and see if it will boot. I would suspect the power cycling may have caused partition problems if recovery got wiped.

which would mean I would lose all the data in the previous cm11 right?
I'm trying my best to flash a recovery but I think it got wiped for good.. I'm trying to flash it over and over again .. (I unplug the battery once I'm in download mode to prevent the sudden restart) .. before I flashed the CWM through odin I was able to go into a glimpse of a recovery mode, now I can't seem to see it at all...
is there a way to just copy the data (mostly pictures) through odin or adb with my phone current state?
Google says it might be possible

only through recovery mode or hoping your phone would suddenly connect after many boots lol
I don't think that will be my case .. oh well
as long as I can get my phone working again
going back to stock rom didn't fix the issue. can't access anything yet.
any help?
if anyone is reading this, I've been looking everywhere for a stock rom with pit file, I think that's the problem I'm facing since I have different bootloaders and different modes, somewhere around that I jacked my partitions and I think this would help putting it all back
I've found ones for android 4.1 but nothing of 4.3 .. since I came from 4.3 stock rom and then 4.4 kitkat temasek I think 4.1 won't help me at all
time to go to a service center I guess.
OK this is weird...
after I gave up I put my phone on a recover firmware that for some bizarre reason brought it back to life!!! I just put the phone back and left .. 5 hours later it was on and working.. I was able to access the phone for a brief moment.. but for some reason again I wasn't able to get the touch screen to work... I was able to raise the volume.. restart the phone.. but nothing on touch screen..
then it went back to the dead state...
any ideas?

Phone not booting up, dark screen, fear of bricking!

Hello guys. I have this Amaway A725 Tablet which I have rooted a month before. I tried to change the boot animation, which was when my tablet started rebooting and stuck at boot screen. Then I managed to install device drivers for MTK 6572. Then I tried to boot into bootloader using adb reboot-bootloader. My tab switched off and now I cannot even switch it on. I fear that I would have bricked my tablet. Please help me.

I don't know the device, but I don't think you can brick a device just by changing the boot animation.
Can you reboot in recovery? If so, do a full wipe

A factory reset would not affect the boot animation in any way, shape, or form.
OP: You'll have to see if you can find the stock firmware somewhere. Unfortunately, with little to no documentation and not much incentive for manufacturers making cheap android stuff to bother with all that, it could be quite a task.

Yep I tried factory reset from the Android System Recovery, by pressing the Vol+ and Power Keys. But now I count switch it on by any means and key combinations and I cannot remove the battery because it is irremovable. But if I plug it into my PC Device Manager shows this device "MTK USB Port" connecting and disconnecting. So what do I do?
Found the firmware and downloading it from Amaway.cn website. But what do I do now, how shud I flash it, bcoz my tab wouldn't start up by any means, no recovery, no fastboot, not even showing the charging status. Please guyz I totally depend on u, help me !!!
Folks, tried using the MTk USB Port and Mtk Droid Tools, but how to get the firmware.info or pmt file for it?
