[Q] GApps on Omni Kitkat 4.4 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Forgive me I am new to this, I just installed the OMNI Kitkat 4.4 rom (thanks to kasper) with no problems, I booted the rom, went back into recovery and installed the superuser program he suggests without a problem. Then I went to install the Gapps rom (Paranoid Android Stock GApps 4.4.2-20140201), It says 'Insufficient storage space available in system partition. You may want to use a smaller GApps (ie. Mini Modular Gapps)' so is this what I should do instead of the Full Modular GApps install?
file name: pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20140201-signed.zip
Thanks for any help, and big thanks to all dev's out there making it possible :good:

Yes. Use either the mini or micro package.

k thanks will do.
Another noob question, after installing kitkat 4.4 my tablet no longer shows up under devices on my computer. So how do I go about transferring the files for the micro GApps to my tablet for an install? debugging option is on, Odin doesn't show tablet either, am I missing something?
I seen another poster say "being a newb makes my brain hurt" lol I know where they are coming from.

Under the 'tips' section of kasper's thread, settings -> storage -> 3 dot menu -> tick MTP.

Thanks again you've been very helpful, I was in there looking and didn't notice the 3 dot menu. All set.
edit: or at least I thought I was, I transferred over the mini GApps file and when I go into CWM I go to install it does not show the file but it shows the previous files I had to install Omni kitkat 4.4, Superuser, and first GApps file (full). It's weird because when I go into the storage from my computer it does not show these files anymore just the mini GApps file. So I am again lost... lol along with my root access lol. I am getting error when rebooting from CWM 'Root access possibly lost. Fix?'
More reading and searching for me I guess.....I'll get it sooner or later, probably later lol
If anyone wants to give me a little push or maybe giant shove in the right direction I won't be offended
Also was wondering about the Kasper 'tips' section. I was reading through the ROM thread he has but didn't come across tip section yet. Any links to this?

I don't get it. What do you mean by it shows the previous files? When you go into cwm and then select which zip you want to flash, isn't that the case? Anyway, make a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik) and start fresh again.

Sorry for not being clear enough, What I mean is that when I go into CWM and go to install my .zip files It shows the files that I used to get this far (Omni kk 4.4 file, the SU file, and full GApps file), but it does not show the Mini Gapps file that I transferred to the storage of my tablet via desktop. When I go on my desktop and go into my tablet storage it shows the mini Gapps file but none of the original file that I used to get this far.
I think I may do a wipe and go to a Jelly bean rom instead for now, I like this kitkat version but has cpl little bugs and not as fluid as I would like yet and Im not experienced enough to help with that yet. I'm trying to out do my kobo arc 7HD tab with JB 4.1.1 stock so I can justify selling the kobo and keep the SGT 10.1, I like the clear screen on the kobo and jelly bean is great, but not near as much development for the kobo as the SGT. I've been told to try JB 4.2.2 and overclock to 1.5ghz so I should go that way first, kitkat 4.4 was just too tempting lol, actually it is more fluid or smooth now that I turned off the live background I had on.

Then I'd recommend you to go to 4.3. Its way better than 4.2.2. Also, you shouldn't overclock that high because its not very stable. The highest you should go is 1.4 GHz.

How did you transfer the first set (omni,gapps-stock etc.,) and the second set(gappsmini)?
Can you please list the issues you face w.r.t fluidity?

I transferred the first set while I was still in stock rooted condition using my desktop with the drag and drop (copy/paste) method/. The second gapps mini I tried when I had rom kitkat 4.4 installed which for some reason didn't work right from my desktop. I believe when I restored back to stock everything transferred fine and all files showed up. The "fluidity" or smoothness of the rom I found was effected when I chose a live wallpaper, I went back to a static wallpaper and everything seemed very smooth again so I believe that was the issue with this.
Right now, I chose to try out the android 4.3 Jelly bean rom and so far I am loving it so responsive quick and just superior to stock ics. I am new to this only learned about this cpl days ago so I may be missing something or another, but I'd suggest trying this out. All the same kudos to kasper for jumping the next step into kitkat im sure this will be my next step. I haven't learned about dark Omni yet or much superuser options but I hear its impressive so I expect I will venture into this as I learn more.

Alright. There is a directory structure change between 4.0.4 (if you had the updated stock) and recent versions of android supporting multi user. /data is now /data/0 and so on. Maybe your first set will be under /data and second one under /data/0 or /data/0/0..
No matter, good that you have stuck to 4.3 for now. Enjoying the custom ROM is the most fun than just flashing it cheerz buddy.

cheerz, I believe you may be right, I noticed a 0 directory show up in my storage so this is probably correct. I think I checked in there but not sure. I noticed there is a new update, for the 4.4 rom now too (FEB 1), I had the previous download. So I may download this and try again soon. I don't know enough yet though to make the experience for 4.3 to 4.4 much different. I started playing simpsons too, addicting, not sure if this was fixed yet for kitkat or not

The ROM itself is even more fluid than those 4.3.1-builds, but like you already said/noticed... It still has got its/some issues...

[Q] Newbie Questions - recovery mode/google now on ics

Hi guys,
First of all, thanks for the great community, good to be here
I've just got my mediapad at a bargain as 2nd hand and installed 'CleanICE 1.5 Rom (ICS 4.0.3). It has a really great response and installed with such little effort on my part so cheers h25p. I considered a couple other ROMS too, particularly the one posted by 'after_silence', http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856571 CM10 but it is said to have issues with HDMI out (which is an important feature to me) so I haven't tried that one yet.
What I'm trying to do now is boot in to Recovery (so I can install GoogleNow as per this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843457) but can't seem to figure it out for this ROM.
Has anyone had success doing so with ICS? Or better yet, anyone with experience of the 'glitchy HDMI' on the CM10 Jellybean ROM (is it really bad or is it workable most of the time)?
Cheers guys!
[edit]
used auto recovery installer and got CWM on the device now (after_silence provides link to it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856571)
i thought installing that would wipe everything else so to other newbies, don't be concerned. it's just installing the recovery manager and nothing else is affected
after that i went and installed the 'GoogleNowforICSInstaller_v1.1.zip' (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843457) from sd card in CWM but sadly when it boots up there is still no google now. any ideas on where to proceed from here?
Maybe our recoveries doesn't support aroma installer. Try to flash twrp instead of cwm or put manually lib and apk/apks from zip to your system folder (same as it is located in zip), set perrmisions to apk and reboot.

thank you for your suggestion, it has got me one step closer (well I suppose anyway). perhaps from here it is just something to do with the gnow port just not being compatible with my rom? after I install it manually and recheck all the permissions via my file manager, whenever i go to google search it simply says "unfortunately, google search has stopped."
Try to find another moded version. I tried it on stock fw (ICS) few mounths ago and it worked.

Thanks, also posted a logcat dump for one of the Gnow developers and they said there was a lot of location / graphics card errors and also suggested to try another ROM. Ended up flashing JB 4.1.1 AOKP for mediapad 30.1 Final (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876676) and enjoying GoogleNow which comes built in with it.
So far I'm really surprised at how much better it is - initially thought my battery was failing ( purchased my device 2nd hand) but the drain is really low now with this ROM. Seems a bit faster over all too. Didn't test out the HDMI function yet but hope that's not as bad as it sounds. Keeping my eyes open on the development of the 4.2.2 nightlys thread and will probably head over to that once HDMI and bluetooth is working a bit better there

Exynos 4.1.1: where to go from here?

I am rooted on a Verizon Note 2 Android 4.1.1 using Exynos Abuse. I used the Voodoo OTA RootKeeper to keep from being updated or whatever. I have heard Verizon just rolled out 4.1.2. I would like to update.
Could someone explain how to do this without losing my root? I would like to remain w/ the ease of Exynos but if i need to learn to do it another method I guess i will.

With mine i did a back up of my root, defrosted SDL (had it frozen for some reason, maybe to keep myself from auto accepting updates?), ran the update, after a couple reboots. Opened Voodoo and restored my root and i was good to go.
Good Luck
Ok. trying to figure out exactly how to do that. I used OTA Rootkeeper to 'unroot' my device. Basically i pressed the Temp.un-root button. closed program. I don't even know what SDL is so i am pretty sure it isn't frozen.
Next i went to setthigns and About phone -- pressed Software update. after about 10 seconds i get a pop up that says "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.
So it won't update. Not sure what i am doing wrong
curious
Curious as to why you would want to upgrade to 4.1.2 when the hacks and mods available on 4.1 far exceed that of which 4.1.2 offer. you should have all apps in multi window.. 23 toggle task manager.. with root you can freeze or disable all bloat just curious?
Seriously its a very very minor update if I upgraded it would be to 4.2 and the very least

you have a very good point. I have no real reason. I just figured 'latest and greatest.' I do, however, want to be able to do it when the time comes 4.2. I really don't run any mods. I only am rooted for the ad blocker and titanium backup. I am looking up 23 toggle task manager now.
I guess i thought i was missing out on something if i don't update. I read in another thread someone talking about the "radio" being updated. I don't have bad reception or anything , but i get nervous when i see something like that is updated and i dont know if mine is 'good enough' anymore.
edit: ok i googled "23 toggle task manager" with quotations.. this tread is the only one on the entire internet that showed up as a result. Is there a different name for that mod?
where would i find it, or info about it?
okay

My advice is hit it with Adams casual and unlock the bootloader and of course twrp. I am seeing a fair number of people on your situation losing root and ending up with messed up phones.
Get it unlocked do you are safe moving forward.
Then all you have to do is use twrp to flash bean's stock 4.1.2 which is rooted. He had that up within hours of the update rolling.
Your check for updates is failing because at some point you renamed the apk for it to prevent updates. I forget the name of it. It's mentioned here somewhere.
Thanks to everyone that helped and thanks to lwsoccjs for the link to 23 toggle. I ended up taking the plunge and doing casual and teamwin last night as TonikJDK suggested. I have kind of been wanting to do it anyway but wasn't sure where to start. After reading TonikJDK's post i looked up Casual read a few how-to's about it. Seemed pretty easy. (so far so good)
I upgraded to 4.1.2 using 'beans' version. I think i may still use 23 toggle though. I will probably experiment now with a few different roms just to see what is out there, but i will probably end up keeping it stock, assuming i don't find something that blows it away.
Any suggestions on where to start for a few roms to 'play with?'
I am quite sure i want to keep with a touchwiz style ROM but i may try a 100% stock android becasue this is my first android and i've never used 100% stock before.
Is there a main depository of ROMS? a one-stop-shop so to speak?
thanks again for the help! I hope you guys didn't send me down the path to a new 'addiction!'

There isnt really a one stop shop for rom on the Note 2, XDA has pretty much everything posted to it thats available for the VZW Note 2. There may be one or 2 mods posted to rootzwiki that arent on XDA but I havent really checked it out because a lot of it is outdated and the mods I use are posted here, on the S3 it was a whole different story.
As for trying AOSP, stock android, I would advise you do it just to see how you like it. I was new to AOSP with my S3, all my other phones had locked bootloaders to that point, and I gave it a try and absolutely loved it. All I ran on my S3 was ParanoidAndroid and MIUI. You may decide you dont like it as much as stock TW on the Note 2 but its always good to test it out and see for yourself because its such a different experience.
A few things to remember with AOSP are that when you flash it your SD card has to be FAT32, NTFS definitely doesnt work and I dont think exfat does either but I may be wrong with exfat. If you dont have your card formatted as FAT32 it will corrupt everything on your SD, of course when you format the SD card (if it isnt already FAT32) you need to make a backup of everything on it because formatting wipes the card. Also when switching to AOSP, 4.2 and up, it has a different file structure than 4.1 which is what we have. That means your stuff will be in a different location on your SD card after you flash an AOSP rom but it isnt hard to find. Also when you switch back to TW you have to flash a SD card zip, that restores the file structure to what it was when you were using Touchwiz, after you flash the rom.
If you want some suggestions I would recommend Cyanogenmod is the closest you can get to straight AOSP until someone builds straight AOSP for our phone,ParanoidAndroid is Cyanogenmod based AOSP that lets you change apps to different modes to looks like tablet or phone apps and looks excellent on this phone just because of its size, and Vanilla Rootbox is Cyanogenmod based (as are pretty much all AOSP apps unless its straight AOSP) AOSP rom with things taken or kanged from ParanoidAndroid and others.
I prefer Vanilla Rootbox and ParanoidAndroid on this phone just because they both have some amazing features that make this phone more of what it should have been in the first place IMHO.
The S-pen will still work on AOSP roms but it wont have the features it does on a TW based rom because it is dependant on TW. A remedy to that is GMD Spen control, you can get it from the Play store, a little over $5 if I remember correctly, but you can even use it on TW and it adds a whole slew of features that really should have been in the stock TW rom.
I may be forgetting something seeing as how I wrote this up for a friend a few days ago, he got his first android and it happens to be a Note 2. I really feel as if I did but can't think of what it is....
If you have any more questions just ask away and someone will answer them!

Thanks for the suggestions. Could you elaborate on the above. What stuff will be moved? Lots of stuff? will i even realize it ? does putting back just mean renaming folders?
What does "i have to flash a SD card zip" mean? Do u mean for the ROM or is there a way to restore file structure w/ some sort of hack or something?
Also, what do you think of Liquid Jellybean? I saw it available when looking at GooManager. Thought it would be a good one to check out. Version 2.3! it will be years before Verizon catches up to that.

thank you for posting this here! :good:
Many thanks!
Thanks for this! Works great, feels more fluid... Except doesn't seem to fix the touchscreen deadzones that occur intermittently (but of course that's for Samsung to take care of)
How this update should be installed? Adb?
Edit. Sorry, never mind, this is for N5100 but I have N5100. Waiting for new version for my device.
I am interested in loading this rom on my wife's tablet. I have been flashing rom's on my Motorola Phones for years now and am very comfortable doing so, but a real Novice when it comes to Samsung.
I am on 4.1.2, insecure loader. I have tried both CWM and TWRP recoveries and can use either. I have also used Odin as well.
Question, do I need to wipe data first, and how do I load this rom onto a Samsung Device.
Sorry for the trouble, but I am a fast learner and will be on board soon (I hope)

Since this is an OS upgrade (4.1.2 to 4.2.2) a data wipe is highly suggested. Frankly, I would suggest wiping system, data, cache and dalvik just for good measure. If she wants to keep a lot of the apps' progress/settings she has, I would install Titanium Backup and back up all user apps first before doing anything. She may have everything synced with her Google account as I believe you can sync apps and their data through Google now, but I haven't tested it yet.
To install the ROM, you'd just need to put it somewhere locally on your tablet, I have a '000Flash' folder on the root of my internal SD storage for any ROMs/kernels/modems (on my phone), etc. Place it in there, then get yourself into recovery. Once in recovery, wipe everything I mentioned above, then go back to the install/flash option of whatever recovery you're using. Flash the .zip file you just downloaded and put locally on your tab. Wait a few minutes and boot her up!
Just make sure you have the right software for the right version tablet you have, N5110 vs N5100.

No problem, shouldn't be too different than what you're already used to, but I can understand the need for clarification when it comes to different devices as they're all a little bit different.
OK, on 4.2.2, no problems at all after I found how to turn debugging mode on. THAT IS STRANGE

Also you will need to have CWM or TWRP installed as a custom recovery for it to work. There are plenty of options for installing and the new versions that are non touch should fix any issues uyou had previously. Happy flashing!

I'm all rooted and running the ROM...
This ROM definitely needs a little TLC...
How about putting a list of requests together so maybe we have an Idea of what we can expect?
Here is a thread for customizing this ROM!!!
Here is a link to the Google Edition 4.3 Camera
This works I have it installed. and it is pretty sweet. (even on a 5mp Camera)
I installed xposed framework today and it works well on this ROM. Has anyone else tried this?
You can go here for other mods to add to it...
After you have the Xposed frame work installed you can install the app_settings see attachments, to modify the per app DPI settings.
example, you open up app settings go to gmail, set the dpi to 160 & screen (dp): 1000x1600
I did this for System settings as well and they look nice.
Play around with it and we can build on it...
You can find other mods that you can see if they work and build a list in a new thread. REMEMBER TO BACK UP FIRST!
Ge the disabler in attachments to flash in case you get into a boot loop. These work well since this is a stock ROM.
NottachXposed works very nicely for this ROM... You just have to play with it a little bit, but you can tweak it out nicely...
Don't forget to grab the Multi-Window Manager over in the Themes and app section. It works Great Without any flaws so far...!
If you need a 3-way reboot menu, here is an excellent app here for that...

[ROM] OMEGA V19 [SS][4.3TW][FAST-STABLE][MULTIC][MK2/MJ7/MKF][gogoliePORT][STOCK]

OMEGA v19
FIGURED WITH INDIE RELEASING HIS 4.4 LEAKED ROM I had better let you guys enjoy it a bit before the v20 4.4 and an unloked bootloader port heh, joking probably wont see her for a bit boys and girls so enjoy what you can while you have it. btw thats 4.4 that triggers knox but ima try it later since I've triggered it messing with SS trying to get zips working for people over last cpl weeks... im sure well see 4.4 tw soon enough til then enjoy.
This is a follow up to my v18 ROM any problems or issues try first searching that thread for info then post issue or problem herein v19's thread please.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2591648
thanks testers of my original port v18. of course ...indie... genius and the rest of the omega crew. thx ppls
like all my new roms this is multicarrier friendly meaning you might have to flash your modules and possibly modem and apns to get full service but its very easy to do and nearly all files possibly needed for this conversion are available at http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=devices&uid=23269279319201630 along with various other mods and rom ports.
Installing is straight forward: zip is for slots 1-420 and the restorable install is for any slot including STOCK!!!
And this wont hurt your phone or leave incompatability issues like other SS roms may have done. Plz post problems issues here not on indies or any other omega forum. Thanks must be given to indie and anyone he says I just ported this one was the easiest one I've done and has been 100% successful for everyone I personally installed for. Be sure to +thank me or indie or Download another rom.
Install by running zip from Safestrap or TWRP. Untested on CWM. After installing if not a MK2 VZW user you will have to flash your Safestrap modules and modem and apn if all else fails. This installs the best on a fresh rom slot ie newly created / blank.
Zip DL:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23311191640114279
SS RESTORE DL:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319202601
Install: unzip the backup files in the zip to a folder like /TWRP/backupsi/141fa3db/ndie-Omega19bygogolie no matter where the files need to be one level in a directory named something and your TWRP/SS backup directory needs to read from that location if you cant figure this out you probably should not be installing a custom anything. Once files are where you want them pop into SS/TWRP and restore these to any slots butt even STOCK. yay ok bed time ill update and make pretty maybe later.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THE RESTORE VERSION OVER THE ZIP. PERSONALLY I THINK ITS SAFER MORE COMPATIBLE WITH ALL PHONES WITH 3.7+

Hey man one thing i've noticed with this rom (both SS and zip options) as well as your other rom M1A3, Wifi seems to have trouble maintaining a stable connection. It tends to drop off and i find myself having to toggle it every so often.
The other issue is also with wifi, when i try to connect to an access point using 2 phase authentication (WAP + PEAP) it will accept the credentials, pass verification but never receive the IP address. It then just bounces back and forth between scanning for wifi networks and trying to obtain an IP address from the access point....which kills the battery.
I can connect to the very same access point from the stock rom.
I've tried flashing the modules, replacing the modules with the ones from the stock rom, as well as replacing the wap_config.conf file from the working rom slot. no go
Hopefully you can clue me into a fix. Im on MJ7, I have seen this problem come back after i re-flashed my image with Odin. its definitely related to these roms in particular
Other than that i really like both of these roms. the gold theme on M1A3 is pretty cool too
+1 using foxhound. I love that ROM but am having the same problems as above. Won't connect to work network and keeps searching and obtaining IP address but never connects and kills battery. Used data on way home for maps and signal said 4g but Google said not connected had to switch back to stock and all was fine...shame cause I love foxhound.... Using ss 3.71 on MK2

So the first fix didnt change anything unfortunately. Flashed the second zip and on reboot had a ton of FC errors and couldn't even unlock the screen. Restarted again and it was pretty much soft bricked...had to restore from backup.
Flashed zip in twrp, loaded great no serious problems. Only issue is that it keeps trying to encrypt my SD card. I am concerned about losing data. Please advise how to stop encr. I have been rebooting and took out card. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I thought it would be helpful to share my post from the Foxhound thread on installation of Omega on MDK http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49744674
[ROM]Foxhound Diamond Dogs 3.6 TW-4.3-MK2/AnyCarrier-SS-KNOXfree-CLEAN-FAST-THEMED
Gigilie, I would be happy to walk through Omega instillation on MDK. It's very easy.
Before you start make sure you downloaded Omega. v. 19. I used the .zip version and reccomend flashing .zip for all MDK recovery based installs. Also dl the most current ktoonsz 4.3 tw kernel. The version in Omega did not work well and a fresh install is best. Also dl any mods you like, such as those you might use with HD or other 4.3 TW roms.
1. Using recovery, I use TWRP 2.6.3, be sure to make a back up nandroid of your current rom.
2. Wipe. A full factory wipe is best.
3. Flash Omega v. 19 and the new ktz kernel and wipe cache and Calvin for good measure (not absolutely necessary).
4. Reboot, set up and give the rom some time to set up and load your backuped apps from the playstore.
5. Go back to recovery and flash your mods.
If you are brave or foolish, restore only the data from your 4.3 or 4.2 TW Nandroid.
If you start getting fc's then wipe data, and reload your data and apps manually from the playstore and or from Ti backup. I found that data from my HD 12 Nandroid was compatible with Omega. I was using the S4 UI in HD v. 12, not the Note 3 UI; and data from other setups may not play well with Omega v.19.
That's it. Easy peasy. Have fun!

[Q] Rooted and Flashed with CM 11. "Can't play videos"?

~EDIT~
Recently I rooted and flashed CM 11. Any time I try to go and play a video, whether it's from the internal storage, sd card, or stream from a website, I just get "Can't play video."
Does anyone know of any reasons why this would be happening and how how to fix it? Or any suggestions? Should I reflash?
Also, usually when you hold down the Droid Home button you get a list of all recent apps as well as a link to the Task Manager at the bottom. There is no such link now though. Is this an Android Kitkat thing or a CM thing? How do I get to the Task Manager?
varxtis said:
...
There seem to be pretty significant shortcuts/features missing and I can't tell if thats because it's kitkat, or because it's CM.
Example:
1.) Sound - ~EDIT~ Found "Sound" button. Wishing it had "vibrate" mode but at least now I can Toggle normal/mute.
2.) Brightness - On this one, there is a Button that takes you to a brightness bar, which is fine... but it won't let me select "Auto". It seems more like a glitch than anything when I tap it.

Thank you ^_^ Fair enough, She can definitely live without them.
Now its just a matter of understanding why videos can't be played. It wouldn't have anything to do with which gApps I used would it?

Videos cannot be played because of a kernel bug. The CM11 Official Nightlies have this issue fixed.
If you are running the official CM11 nightlies, what build number is it? Could be a regression.
I apologize,
Ive been checking for updates periodically, but Im not very familiar with what nightlies are. I figure these are updates/patches that are done on a nightly bases.
Right now my CyanogenMod Version is
11-20131220-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim
Build Number:
cm_acclaim-userdebug 4.4.2 KOT49H e9e3ba9b67 test-keys
Thanks to your post, I went ahead into "About Tablet" and then into CyanogenMod Updates to take a closer look. Since flashing CM11 Ive only been checking "New Versions (Stable only)", but I didn't even realize you can change which updates you can search for... so again I thanks to your suggestion I changed it to "Update types: New Versions (incl, Nightlies)"
Three options became available... so I downloaded cm-11-20140218-NIGHTLY.
Should I install?
I'd suggest trying the M3 snapshot: cm-11-20140210-SNAPSHOT-M3-acclaim.zip (http://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/58498/cm-11-20140210-SNAPSHOT-M3-acclaim.zip).
Awesome,
As always, thank you very much
Now, Is that something I could just download and run straight from the tablet main UI? Or would I download it, put into same bootSD card I used to flash CM, reboot nook into recovery and then flash the snapshot zip? Either way isfine, just want to know which way to go.

You have to flash the zip via recovery (either TWRP or CWM, depends on what you have installed).
Make sure to do these things while in recovery, before flashing the zip. Do *not* touch /rom, /factory, /recovery:
1. wipe cache partition;
2. wipe dalvik-cache;
3. wipe data partition;
4. wipe system partition;
5. NOW you can flash the zip.
