i have used many roms but with almost all of them i find a major bug: the screen sometimes splits in two parts, for eg the notification bar comes at the middle of the screen!!
i have to reboot to fix this problem.
does anyone have a fix or solution for this?

Yes... the flex (the cable that connects the screen to the rest of the phone) is broken, at least partly. It needs to be replaced.

Hi all,
Love switching roms. Recently the middle row of the touch keyboard stopped working... tried flashing different roms. Tried fastboot -w, formatting the system partition before reinstall... did full wipe and wiped dalvik cache.
On a new ROM now and the issue is still present. The touch only seems to be an issue with the keyboard, tried different keyboards with different roms and it's like I have a dead zone in the middle... and whether I use the keyboard in landscape or portrait the issue is present with the middle row.
*EDIT- this is not a keyboard issue... the deadzone is there from my home screen too... hardware? :-( *
I've search through these forums without luck, hoping someone can shed some light on this problem!

Try put an app icon there and click on it, see if it responds. If not, then most likely a h/w problem.
<argh>. i have a quarter inch strip right in the middle that goes from top to bottom that doesn't seem to respond to touch anymore. like a deadzone. icon skips that quarter inch when i try to drag it across my homepage...
Just bought one... have the newest update but my wifi still shuts down once I hit the power button and i am unable to find a fix. Second every now and then, and becoming more frequent, when i touch the screen a black oblong shape will flash black ( almost like a thick lighting bolt shape) about a third of the screen. Has anyone else had this happen? Also The touch screen itself wont respond properly, I have to touch multiple times sometimes to get a response.( not to frequent but enough to be an annoyance ) lastly it will power off a random at least 1-2 times daily. Other than that I like it, just has a few bugs to work out.
The screen flickering and wifi have always been bugs with both Sony Tablets with the later being fixed in release 5, or at 'seast it should've been, if thats what your on.

For the wifi problem you can try installing "Advance Wifi Lock" (google play).. just install the free version, that should fix your problem.. let me know if it work!
What device?
If it is the Sony Tablet S, factory reset to fix most issues but there will be a few issues like screen flickering hidden in the settings while changing notification sounds and a few system server issues where the OS crashes to the boot animation and then System UI crashes, system server crashes in to a bootloop of crashes and stuff.
So system server/system UI is a bug sometimes.

The past 3 days, my touchscreen is seeming to get stuck in certain spots (to the point where I cannot slide screen left/right or up/down)
Also, the soft keys (Back, Home & Recent Apps) become unresponsive also.
I've tried cleaning the screen multiple times (mostly with lens cleaner) I even tried Windex - but it only works when it wants to.
I went to Settings - Developer Options - Show Touches... just to see where the screen is getting held up, and sometimes it shows a white dot where it seems to get stuck, and cleaning the screen only helps 25% of the time.
I have _never_ had this problem, does anyone have this issue? (or something similar?)
I'm rooted, and if installing the new touchscreen drivers will help lemme know (and provide some links please)

seems like a hardware issue..I'd take it to sprint and see what they can do.

Hi everyone. After changing the usb pin of my phone, the touch screen started doing some weirds things. Sliding among desktops is rather laggy. Pressing an icon is not enough to get the app (or whatever) to work, a second attemp is neccesary in any other part of the screen in order to make it happen. The physical buttons seems to be working fine so far.
In further investigations it seems like pressing on the screen is well detected, since i can press an icon and move it around a desktop. But unpressing anything goes undetected.
I see no physical damage on the screen or the flex that connects it to the motherboard. This is not an issue related to any especific rom or kernel since i tried with a couple of them before getting to this point. Is there any app that allows me to monitor what part of the screen is being touch?
Can this be resolved by a firmware update of any kind of just a hardware replacement?

So the left bottom corner of my sceeen has been pressing randomly. SwiftKey was autpressing comma for sometime. Its happens occasionally and fixes itself after i lock and unlock screen again. Wtv emoji is there if the emoji bar is open gets selected automatically . My phone is not more than 2 weeks old. Does anyone know why its happening? Or it it's a hardware or software issue?

Nope. I never ended up putting a screen protector because of this issue. I have wiped cache partition, done a system wipe too with no change. I thought it could be related to the keyboard and used Google keyboard and minuum but the issue persisted... Just confused if it's a hardware or a software issue
