Hello
Ive updated my toshiba excite pro to android 4.3 and cant get the HDMI connection to the TV to go fullscreen. It is also definitely not showing at HD resolution.
There are vertical black bars on each side of the screen, there is also no HDMI menu in the settings.
Is this an issue with this version of android, or are there any ways I can fix it?
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Guys, I have looked all over but can't seem to find an answer. I have a HD media dock hooked up to my 7" display in my truck. It works great but the resolution makes everything (espescially the mouse arrow) very small. Is there a way to change the resolution so all the icons on the bottom are larger? I have tried the "display" setting at the top but there are no options in the drop down menu. Any help would be awesome!

what I found out that worked for me was plug the photon into via docking station into a different tv then plug it back into the tv that you want and on the screen will say new display detected or something and from there the resolution menu will open allowing you to adjust it to whatever you like
When I hook up my prime in r my 720 p TV everything works great, shows the whole screen. But when I hook it up to my 1080p screen it cuts off the outer edge if the screen all the way around. Thick enough to barley see the apps icon on the home screen. But it also does this on my Acer a 500, so I think it is a android issue. Is there a setting that I have never seen before to fix this?
Also I made sure its not the zoom, wide or stretch feature on the TV

this is an issue with your TV enabling overscan of the HDMI image. on my panasonic plasma TV i had to troll through the advanced picture settings and change the "HD Size" to "Size 2". i don't know why panasonic makes this the default but that's how it goes. once that setting was made the display was a perfect 1080p crop. changing zoom/wide/stretch doesn't solve this problem because all that does is adjust how a sub-1080p image is presented on the 1080p surface.

My TV used to do the same, it's as he says: find overscan, give it the boot!
After the .21 update there is scaling now which i love because i could never get full screen on my 1080 tv. but now when i plug in the hdmi in to my 720 tv the status bar shows on the tv, changing the ratio to 16:10 (i think) leaving bars on the side and when i go into the hdmi settings, there is no settings to fix it. anyone had this problem?
But movies do play fullscreen?!?!
Hi,
I'm trying to screen cast from a Nexus 4 to a large screen TV (using a PTV3000). I want to put the TV in portrait mode and have the screen case occupy the entire screen, however I don't seem to find a way to accomplish this. When the phone's orientation is vertical (portrait) it assumes the TV is in landscape orientation and the phone screen is displayed small in the middle of the TV with black space on the sides.
After doing some searching it seems that this behavior can only be changed with a custom ROM, however I haven't been able to pinpoint where in the AOSP tree this behavior can be changed. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks!
Full screen

Did you ever get the full screen to work?
Hi all!
Long shot, but you just never know........
T95Z Plus TV Box
Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV
So when I select a difference sources with this TV, it displays in white text on the screen the input; screen format; input name etc. IE: "T95Z, AV8". Now this is expected behaviour.
I've not experienced this issue with any other device, but this is what's occurring:
During normal use of the box, IE: watching a film or stream, it keeps displaying the above mentioned information on the screen. As if the TV box is communicating with the TV or trying to change screen resolution....or something. Basically it seems to be entirely random, but the on screen informative channel display keeps popping up over the content. This isn't a "feature" I can disable on the TV unfortunately.
There looks to be a myriad of HDMI / CEC and general display settings on the TV Box. Does anyone have an educated guess whether this can be addressed?
Thanks in advance,
Carl.
For anyone that has the same problem, it's a know issue with the Sony Bravia TVs and it still does it on the new models. I ended up just turning CEC features off and manually turning on/off the TV.
