[Q] htc one + in bootloop twrp installed but not backed up - HTC One X+

HI,I was trying to get around at&t tether restrictions on an HOX + following the telephony.db edit method. this was not working and i thought it might be because the APN information in that file might not work as the phone is being used outside of the US, so i replaced the entire telephony.db file with one from an international version HOX.
Now the HOX+ is in a bootloop. it boots right to the home screen then gives a notice that "the process com.android.phone has stopped" and then restarts.
CID -cws__001
HBoot- 1.32.0000
the bootloader is unlocked
phone is rooted stock ROM android 4.1 sense 4
TWRP is installed but I didnt create a backup
I have a copy of the original telephony.db file.
how can I put back the original telephony.db file or what else can i do to fix this problem i am a complete noob
thanks for the suggestion AndroHero, much thanks to [email protected] he gave me a link to an RUU that worked after id spent hours scouring the net and only seeing RUU's that didnt seem like they were for my phone.
i'm back on stock rom with at&t restrictions but at least i have a working phone....
(editing initial post because foroum keeps saying i cant post off my link what ever that means)

You can use adb from recovery to push the original file. You might want to use the rm command to remove the new file before you push the original one though.

Can you provide the telephony.db from the HOX international?
I want to test a few things.

[Q] Can not boot past Motorola Dual Core Technology Screen

Alright, so I know what went wrong. I messed up, I know I did, so please try not to mention it.
I accidentally deleted my lib folder in the /system directory using root explorer. What I was trying to do is replace it with the one found in a different thread (as I was missing some files that I needed to receive the BELL OTA update)
So now the phone will not boot past the above mentioned logo (thread title)
I have tried going into android recovery and wiping and restoring all data but that did not help, my phone is not unlocked and I have never installed a different ROM.
What should I do?
I may be wrong, but if you are not unlocked, you may have to do a full SBF flash to get back up and running. If you were unlocked you could just flash a system.img via fastboot.
Alright, I will look into that, right now I am at school so if you could give me a link to a guide for the Bell Motorola Atrix I would appreciate it, if not I will search through the forums for it later.
Thanks for the help!
what did you make on your case.
I have the same problem.
Please help me

[Q] Rooted Evo3d Before Activation now cant activate

hey, i had a evo3d running synergy rom and half the screen broke so i had insurance send me a new one.
Keep in mind my old, broke, phone still works (only half the screen works).
once i got my new evo3d in i rooted it, updated the radio with PG86IMG-twrp-shooter-1.1.1.zip and then flashed the latest synergy 3d ROM. once it stated up, it ran the auto hands-free activation.
After a delay it came up and said connection failed 1 of 5, and asked if i wanted to activate or if i was on the phone with a sprint tech and wanted to do it manually. When i press "Activate" it crashes with this message "vDM client has crashed..." and i have to click Force quit. Then im at the normal setup your android screens.
If i skip ahead the phone is not activated (plus my old one is still live, but even still vDM should not be crashing i would assume). So i then called sprint tech *2 and had a very knowledgeable lady and we tried several things, the main issue being ##823834## not working or doing anything (prob bc of rom).
I can press ##3282# and get the View / Edit, but even on that page, using the password (it asks for a password if you press "Edit") give to me on the phone by the sprint tech, did not accept. She said i should bring it in to the store and she was going to make me an appointment. I clearly didn't mention it was rooted.
What can i do to get this new rooted phone activated? should i re-flash back to stock sprint? any why is vDM crashing (Google and xda search gave very very little on vdm)?
thanks alot.
1. Nandroid backup
2. RUU
3. Nandroid restore
4. ????
5. No profit, but working phone.
Just run a stock rooted ROM. The problem is you may have run into that error 16 issue. They warn of it in the thread on rooting. Basically it kills the data connection for the phone (Which is needed for hands free activation) and you need to call in to a department and have them reset it on their end. However, since the phone was never previously activated, it seems you don't have this option?
It doesn't happen every time you root, didn't happen to me at all. But perhaps read some of those issues and see if the tech team can push the fix your way. I think Product Fred posted about it specifically referencing the department to call. If all else fails, it seems like you may need to unroot and exchange for another device. Then activate that one before rooting.
Ok great i'll try the stock rooted rom and report back, im no to clear on what zadias was trying to say in his post however.
when you said "see if the tech team can push the fix your way." do you mean a push from sprint's tech team? bc if so then the lady from sprint i spoke with earlier did push some kind command when we were trying to troubleshoot activating it.
tks again!
hi,
I have tried the stock sprint rom and even on that the same thing happens, once it boots up and the "Hands free activation" screen comes up, after about 1 minute it comes up and says the connection has failed and do i want to retry? (it says if you are on the phone with a live sprint tech to click cancel.) i have the option of activate and cancel. if i click activate i get this:
The application vDM Client (process com.redbend.vdmc)) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.
(then i must click force close)
Anyone have any input or ideas? im fully without a phone now as my others screen has stopped working fully.
thanks

Is the old phone still working..i mean can u make and get calls on the old phone?
Sent From My HTC EVO 3D ROOTED
Yes i can make calls on the old device, i have used it to call sprint *2 and we tried everything on the new phone, no luck she said i would have to bring it into the store.
Im trying to restore it to STOCK sprint using these directions, but the PIA file links dont work (on all 3 of the posts on return to stock ive found, none of the donwload links work so pls help.)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193540
It says download the stock rom zip which it links to a 400mb file, it then says:
In hboot mode the phone will scan the SD card with the image. Once it finds it will ask you if you want to update. Press "Power" to update.
(to me that sounds like how u flash a radio with a small 4mb zip file like team recovery file you rename to PG186.zip, so why are they linking to a 400mb rom file?)
to me that is how you flash a radio with a small PG186.zip file not a 300mb ROM file, so im confused on that, do i want to choose the zip to flash and flash that 300mb rom (which i have already done in the post 2 above this) or do i rename this 300mb file to PG186.zip so that the fastboot white screen AUTOMATICALY asks me if i want to update this file (flash a radio is what i understand this to be).
Please help guys, i have no phone and really stuck.
Don't restore a Nandroid backup before deleting wimax.img from the backup folder! If you don't, you'll overwrite the new Wimax keys with your old ones and the 4G won't work!
just to be clear this is the file im having issues with:
1. Download the stock ROM ZIP image from here: Sprint Stock ROM Image v 1.1.3.651.7
they say to flash it like PG186.zip but when i click on the link i see a 300MB rom file.
thanks
EDIT productRed, i just saw your reply ,i dont think any of that applies to me as im not using nandbackup nor have ever used that program or backup. tks

Ok thats the problem if ur going to activate a phone with sprint u need to have the old phone and the new phone off and then call them from another phone so they can activate the new esn..thats why when they try the ##3282 the password didnt work on the new phone cause the password they have is for the old phobe so fisrt call them activate the new phone and then the handsfree is going to the rest....but remeber dont use either the old phone or new phone to call them.

it keeps crashing during activation, so i just need to bring it in to the store with both phones and have them activate it there.
Before i can do this i have to make the phone stock, can someone please post the stock Sprint evo3d radio link so i can flash it?
i have the stock sprint rom, but i need the stock radio as ive already flashed it to an aftermarket radio.

If you were on the ENG bootloader, then yes, you just bricked your phone when you ran that adb command.
If i was on the ENG bootloader? english bootloader? versus a french or another language bootloader?
Can you please explain so i know what i did wrong.

Engineering is ENG. SHIP is the stock bootloader. The ENG bootloader is hboot 1.04, SHIP (stock) is 1.30/1.40/1.50. When you go into the bootloader it says either SHIP or ENG by the bootloader version.

Here are the STOCK ATT Rom for your Jetstream.
Is it useful when you bricked your device or just need to reflash it. Like mine.

Thanks Folks and I will post other versions as well if I have more.
Um, doesn't them being edited by these devs make them not stock?
I mean, I guess I'm thinking of a RUU. ??
I would like to have the ATT RUU laying around, just for whatever.
Official ATT RUU is is not available in the internet. I have searched the whole net for it. Only Rogers Puccini has RUU. You can only restore this backups.

Alright, downloading now since I"m off work.
Omg the slowness. 9 hours remaining. ;___;
I flashed the BMWboy Rom, which is not the BMWboy v.01 Rom posted elsewhere (it is closer to a straight ruu but not exactly)
So, now it seems that titanium backup and SU are denied root privileges. So.... After flashing this (restoring back up, rather) I have to root again? Though doomlord said it was a permroot...
Is this because we have not achieved s-off ?
Edit: Yea, totally had to re-root my jetstream, which took 2 minutes, but... S-on's fault?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Remember. When you flash these roms you overwrite the system folder of your device. Root and SU is stored in system folder. You have to rerun root process and after that you will have a permroot I told you this is close to a stock rom I use it too Read the description carefully. S-ON/S-OFF dosnt matter for root
This is your only chance to reflash your device which was from ATT if something goes wrong caus ATT Official RUU is not available nowhere on the net and ATT dont allow to update the device software in the near future. I hope we can get ICS.
If you have a Rogers Puccini you are luck caus your device is free (S-OFF) and has an official RUU to update or flash back to stock
Wifi doesn't work. I tried bothm but get the same problem
Are you using a rogers puccini or ATT jetstream device?

Soft-brick
I was wondering if anyone could help me save my jetstream from a soft-brick/bootloop. You can follow this link for all the info.
Quick summary:
I made some changes to the apns.xml file in the framework-res.apk file
when I pushed this back to the tablet I had to force close a bunch of apps
I rebooted tablet and now I'm stuck in a bootloop.
I've tried to factory reset from HBOOT several times.
I don't have CWM, but I do have access to fastboot.
No access to adb.
I want to reflash the system partition with this "stock" version via fastboot. All the posts I've found providing instructions on this call for "fastboot flash system system.img", how do I create a system.img? I'm sorry to post a link to my post in this forum, but I've only had one reply and I'm hoping this will give my problem more exposure to some of the skilled Android developers.
Thank you.
i don't know if it'll help you - but you can extract a system.img file from the RUU that's around the forum somewhere.
if you run the EXE file (even with the device disconnected) its unpacking to a temp folder. just run the RUU and search the temp folder for rom.zip
in there u'll find what u need.

[Q] Rogers Update?

Yesterday, there was an update that was pushed to my Rogers HTC Jetstream. Due to having the clockwork recovery that DooMLorD cooked up, the update was unsuccessful since the device tries to reboot in the stock recovery.
I'm wondering if anyone that didn't install the custom recovery is able to confirm any notable changes and if so, is there a way to have a .zip of the update so we can flash it in CWM?
I also tried looking for the 9MB download in root explorer to no avail.
Thank you.
Hi, AT+T is going to be pushing out an update in the next day or so as well. What i find interesting is, the update was on the HTC website at http://www.htc.com/us/support/jetstream-att/downloads/ and is now removed. i downloaded the 473 MB file called htc_jetstream_emr_update_1.30.502.1_us.exe . HTC claimed this file was the same as the update BUT that it would delete all my data if i manually used the file versus 'off the air' update when that is delivered.
Can you upload the file anywhere? Maybe our trustly devs could make something of it.
Someone else here has it and they said they will upload it shortly. So check back on this forum.
Please upload it!!
Presuming the .exe is a normal HTC RUU (as the past 2 Rogers updates are), this will be easy to turn into a CWM-flashable zip, which won't delete your data. You can extract a file called rom.zip from a temp folder once the RUU is running, and inside the rom.zip is all the .img's to be flashed. boot.img, system.img etc. Once we have those files, repackage them to a CWM-flashable zip and boom, you're off to the races. (Since we don't have the block device number for the boot partition, the boot.img needs to be flashed manually via fastboot.) Flashing the .img's as-is will likely cause you to lose root, but as long as you do a nandroid backup from CWM, you can always revert, or try DooM's root method, which I'm sure will still work.
Hopefully that upload will happen sooner rather than later and we can rip this joint apart.
Any one knows what the update contains? Will the ATT users could use it as well?
HTC says it has some bug fixes, HTC logger removed and a security patch.
Have downloaded the file. Am uploading it. Will share as soon as its done. Sorry end of month so slow internet..

Just ran the update on my stock Rogers Jetstream and in the details it only seems to update the built-in Twitter app. Does anyone know if anything else was updated that isn't mentioned in the description?
I'll rip the RUU apart after work tonight and try to get a CWM-flashable zip out tonight or tomorrow.

[Q] ICS update fails because of removed bloatware

Hi
I removed some stock apps on my rooted phone (current software number: 1.21.166.5, branded by Swisscom, Switzerland) and did no backup since I thought that there is no chance, that I would ever use them again. (Shame on me... )
Now the OTA update to ICS is not willing to succeed, because those apks are missing.
I already could find (and successfully reinstall) the apks of the preinstalled 3D games, but now i am stuck with the Flickr apk. (see screen shot below)
Now I tried several Flickr.apk files which I have found on the internet, but with no success so far.
Additionally I tried to to use the RUU_Shooter_U_Vodafone_UK_1.21.161.1_Radio_10.53.9020.00_10.13.9020.08_2M_release_203613_signed from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208485 in order to get a fresh start, but this one failed with the error: "felher[131]: BENUTZER-ID-FEHLER" and I could not find any other Vodafone branded RUU until now.
Does anyone know a good place where I could find the stock apps or some other solution for my problem?
Regards

try using one of the RUU's here....

I finally could restore my phone with the

Thank you very much for your help, you really saved my day!
I have exactly the same problem. Ok, not exactly. I did mess it up a little bit.
HTC EVO 3D GSM Swisscom, I'm S-ON, but unlocked with HTC-Guide, HBoot 1.49.0018, currently no running Android on it.
All I can do is Bootloader and Recovery (using cwm-4.0.1.4-shooteru). I do have nandroid backups, but when i restore with CWM, it will not work. My phone will stuck in a boot loop. :crying:
I can't find the mentioned PG86IMG_Shooter_U_Vodafone_CH-DE_1.21.166.1_Radio_10.53.9020.00_10.13.9020.08_2M _release_203615_signed or any similiar on goo.im or in that RUU-filefactory-folder
With this, i could solve my problem.
Does anyone have a copy of this RUU?
I will really appreciate any little help I can get...
Hi Dave
Sorry, did not see your PM until now since there was no mail notification.
As i mentioned in my reply i kept the RUU, thus i can send it to you if you are still looking for it!
Thank you very much!
Is there a way to turn on mail notification for PMs?
