Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

First time I've ever been first in a Dev thread. The 2/3 build is working well so far. Everything I've tried is working, ART runtime works, and glitch kernel is good. Thanks for the update!
Everything except smooth scrolling is working fine for me. Scrolling in opera, tapatalk and other apps is kinda laggy.
Best KitKat rom out there for now The King is back!

I said above, on the 2/3 build and ART seems to be working very well. Maybe I'm just fooling myself but it definitely seems like ART makes things smoother. I haven't noticed any type of lag myself but again I'm using ART.
Theme's work fine for me, I'm using LOZONE theme which is really amazing looking. Again, this is on the 2/3 build.
Oh man, I missed Carbon so much... Gonna flash this ASAP

It's a shame I would go back to the previous nightly, but I guess I'll just wait until tomorrow for a new nightly. That'll fix some issues hopefully

Ive just updated my carbon with 04.02 nightly and so far everything is running fine like before
And the problem with bionic is no longer existing
Thank you very much!

Hi!
Just curious - anybody currently able to download the ROM?
I just get the message to choose a device from the sidebar - but I've tried 3 different browsers but I did not get the sidebar to show..
Want to try on my Nexus 5 eagerly! (and maybe also on my Nexus 7 LTE)
Same here and the carbon download app is crashing on me everytime
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
same here as well
Probably some problem with server or sth.
Should be fixed soon, I hope.

1.6 is a pretty big update for us! Check out the changelog on our goo.im page for more, but here are the highlights:
-We've fixed PIE! It no longer decides to be invisible from time to time.
-We fixed the battery charge light! None of us use it but apparently you guys are just nuts for it!
-Dark Carbon! Huge props to Slim Roms for coming up with this unique and awesome feature.
-Lockscreen theming
-CM skinny battery is back!
-Volume key lock on silent mode option
-Backup tool - if you're flashing a new version of Carbon and already have the required version of gapps installed, it will be backed up and restored during install. This applies to system apps and custom host files as well. Please note that you should only dirty flash from Carbon to Carbon. It's ok if it's another version or a nightly - just not over other roms. Super handy for you crack flashers. Make sure you've got the most recent Gapps though, and if you're flashing from a factory reset, you'll still need to install it after install of course.
-Long pressing the "clear recents" button clears the cache
-AOKP's awesome new navbar settings
-MMS and call "breathe" feature. Makes the notification icon fade in and out.
-Mute dings when changing volume
-Disable/enable CRT effect on screen on/off.
-3rd party keyboard bug fixed
-deodexed again
-stability and speed enhancements
-a million other little things as well - we basically don't even sleep anymore.

Remember that we also have nightlies available. Please remember that these are unsupported - they aren't releases, they are automatic builds of the most recent code. Sometimes they'll be excellent, sometimes they won't work, sometimes they won't even build. Expect the unexpected. Not for anyone who finds themselves intimidated by this - you're on your own. Demands that we improve the nightlies will be countered with laughter, taunts, and public shaming. Really ridiculous demands will be memorialized on our social media feeds.

Have to agree, was running the unoff AOKP and finding it very slow and sluggish, regardless of kernel. Since I have a Carbon ROM on my Galaxy 2 tablet, thought I'd try it on the fassy. I like it.

I just flashed the most recent nightly, and after a couple random reboots after downloading stuff from the play store, all is working fine for me now. I am using KToonSez 2/3 kernel and looks pretty damn smooth.
Edit: After letting it settle, has gotten less stable. Getting reboots every once and again.
Edit2: And now it seems to be smooth again. Changed the KTweaker profile I was using and that seemed to help out a bit (Smooth Criminal profile and Lateralus script).

MOD EDIT
Other CM-11 ROMS worth looking at...
Check out the @ocarinaz64 builds here : https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B02ZZ1GsXhMkQ1F6Z1hjR245c0U&usp=sharing
They aren't mine, and are slightly different of course, but to not make waves in the community I am linking to them because I support his work too.
I ran one of the latest builds before building my own ROM and everything and thought it was great. (used it to sync up to the repo actually lol)
Also I'm sure he'd appreciate any thanks you're willing to give. Everyone likes to know you are grateful for the work they do right?
Water Check.....
So this is to test the acceptance of this ROM BEFORE I upload it.
Please anyone who would like to see this ROM uploaded, say so here.
I have really crappy internet like I said and will not bother taking the time to upload this if nobody wants it in the first place, makes sense to me lol.
Interesting . . .
P.S. I think @ocarinaz64 has been posting updated layout builds in my CM11 thread.

I'm, not sure, I found it hard to find an updated CM11 here. I saw the one in Android Development but was way outdated.
So you know, I'm not trying to rip you off Captain_Throwback or anything like that here, i really thank you for your work, and having it available to build with.
Just trying to make something more easily available for everyone. And will include links to other versions like yours too if i have them, whatever make things easiest for everyone

First I have to say thanks to Captain Throwback for his commits otherwise this wouldn't be possible.
Ok so, this is basically just Cyanogenmod 11, built from source, with the commits for after the new partition layout, firmware upgrade.
I will be updating semi-regularly, maybe not nightly but at least once a week if I see people downloading it. If popularity increases, I will be more active on updates, and possible small changes such as additional apps, build.prop mods, and that kind of stuff.
Note: I am one man, not a team of developers. With a crappy internet connection. I don't know a whole lot but have some skills, but have no idea how to add/remove features and whatnot. That's not my area of expertise, but would like to have a few good people to fill in the gaps to make this a really nice ROM in the end. I will try to take requests, if I can do it, I will. This is for everyone in this community, so help me help you and we all will be happy.
This is an all-in-one ROM. I had issues flashing certain gapps packages, resulting in weird issues such as no SMS, so it seemed smarter to cut the hunt out for everyone else who just wants it to work great out of the box so to speak, thereby I already added the minimum gapps for the ROM to run smoothly. And everything seems fine as is.
Also, I have removed Gallery2.apk & Browser.apk, and they have been replaced by CMGallery.apk (aka GalleryNext), and Chrome.apk.
The gallery switch was just to stick to using as much CM code as possible, and Chrome was because I couldn't get the AOSP Browser to work for some weird reason yet to reveal itself to me. But it does make this ROM unique in its own way.
This should be easily upgradeable (dirty). I tried to make it to where you should not have to clean flash after the first install, but nobody's perfect.
DO NOT UPDATE OFFICIALLY AFTER THIS!!! CYANOGENMOD INC HAS NOT INCORPORATED THE NEW COMMITS TO THE BUILD YET!!!
I ONLY KEEP THE UPDATER TO CHECK FOR NOTABLE CHANGES WORTH MAKING THE NEXT BUILD FOR!!!
OK so here is the link to the ROM : (Not Uploaded yet)
If you support my work, please at the very least hit the thanks button.

Captain is right. I have been posting my builds with the new layout. They are easily found in my signature. The only thing that I did to it was applied Captain's commits for the new HBOOTS / partition layout. As such, I didn't think it merited a post under the "Original Development" section. I was keeping it under "Android Development", where Captain had it started.

Ok I added a link to your builds in the second post. That way you are getting looked at no matter what, cause honestly I used your 20140625 build and was very pleased.

You're welcome. Glad you enjoy the gallery change. I figured it was something unique i haven't seen in any other CM-11 so far for some odd reason.

Who is Team Carbon?

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Since you've tested it and based on your post, I'm guessing everything is working fine in this ROM? I don't really care about 2nd sim, so I'm thinking of giving it a try myself later on tonight.
Cheers,
Frappy.

As i told in previous post too.. Only 3g enabled sim can be used for calling.
Temporarily you will have to enable 3g in settings on d sim you are calling from and 2g on the sim you are going to use for internet..
Which means u will get only 2g internet...
Speed will be less but atleast your calling and net will be working simultaneously till dev gives a solution.
