Dualboot is possible with dorimanx (test thread).
But you need to modify the updater-script of the second rom. (because the recovery that comes with the dorimanx kernel can't install kitkat roms. Only if you modify the updater-script)
Read and you'll succeed.

There's no guide. Dorimanx made a modified updater-script for slimsaber.
I made an updater-script for PA by comparing the modified and original one for slimsaber. Find the changes and apply those on the updater-script that comes with your 2nd rom.

I don't think someone posted that updater-script. You can always check
Making it yourself is pretty easy, if the updater-script is almost the same as the slimsaber one.

Don't get me wrong, I like helping people, but this is not the way to ask for help. I can only react when i got time, so be patient.
When you start a thread, keep the questions in the thread so other people can read it and other people can help.
"i used the updater script modified by someone for infected's cm build and it worked..
now i have 1 question?
CM has OTA updates.. do i need to change the updater script of the newly downloaded update also before flashing??
And also i didnt have to use that maliv2 downgrade zip file..do i need to use it??"
Like i said the recovery that comes with the dorimanx kernel can't flash kitkat roms.
So when updating the primariy rom, you've got 2 options.
1. Flash a kitkat compatible CWM (search for it)
2. Modify the updater-script
For updating the second rom, you only got option 2.
For dualbooting you can't use a custom rom that's got mali v2 and one that's got mali v3. They both need to be v2 or v3.
(sorry, never heard of that maliv2 downgrade zip file)

Sorry if I disturbed you..
So for updating main ROM I can-
1)Install latest cwm recovery by flashing Gustavo kernel
2) then flash the updated rom
3)reflash dorimanx kernel
4) reboot and done??

The best way (in my opinion) is to change the updater-script on both roms. You only need to change it once for both roms.
But the other solution is also possible.
Please add [SOLVED] to the thread title.

The updater-script probably won't change if the Android version of the rom stays the same.
So what I meant is, that you need to change the updater-script once (one for cm and one for omni) and you can use it for the next updates too.
I hope I explained it well enough.

You extract the updater-script modify it and save it. Put this updater-script in the "rom file".zip when you flash an update.
Remember that you can brick your phone when you make the wrong modifications.

i think what he means is "what is the difference between a mod and a kernel" or "is combining a custom rom and kernel equals a mod"
well if thats what you asking then mods are usually themes or enhancements to the UI or the general user experience
a kernel is the link between hardware and software.
like we flash custom rom so we also flash mod or just install it like an app

hi. i found a tutorial on how to crt-off but i do not know how to "decompile" or "re-odex" or mess with my system files to that extent, and those tutorials are for deodex only, and i do not want to flash different kernels.
i only have experience with system/csc/others.xml - for the keyboard secondary icons.
so, is there an easy way to have crt-off effect for my stock odex emr2 rom?
if there is none, just say no without an attitude.
thank you.

Actually, its not completely another rom, just custom kernel, recovery and some modded files.

So here I will attach a little *.zip-file which flashes Kernel /Boot.img from recovery and without need to flash this again via fastboot.
In Updater Script you´ll find Code , which Dev´s could include in their Updater-Scripts.
To use it : 1. unzip file
2. put your boot.img in this file
3. put your modules under /system/lib/modules
4. zip the file
5. flash & enjoy
Have a nice day
Awesome,

Haha, I´m compiling JB test roms every second day, but will upload the device tree , when a rom boots up.
Perhaps it could be a possibility to compile msm-3.4 Kernel from CodeAurora because it´s nearly for msm 7627a + msm 8625 devices.

i know desire. but this thing is so so different from others. First of all, there is no other popular phone with msm8225 s4 play, then there is the himax touchscreen which is also rare and different, so i couldnt complete sweep2wake feature in kernel. Further more, CM, MIUI, AOKP, no group is trying to support it officially.
I'll look into other trees to find the diff. Thanks for the heads up.

As far as I remember, the scripting had some sort of infinite loops in em. I haven't tested it personally but I don't think it really works. Tell me if I'm wrong.
Hello guys,
A month ago i installed PACMAN ROM 4.3(cyanogen mod 10.2 , aokp version i9300_jb-mr2 , paranoidandroid version 3.99 RC2) nightly build in my SGS3.I searched in many forums not only in XDA, i tried many kernels like googymax, boeffla kernel, adams kernel but these didnt worked because every time when i boot my device it ends up with bootloop. Can you suggest me some kernels for my device cause i want to stabilize my ROM increasing the voltage in my cpu?
If you have any other good idea to stabilize my ROM tell me please because it lags a lot and i cant install a new ROM because the IMEI changes every time and the only way to use my phone as a phone is to restore my PACMAN ROM backup. Well you can see that i havent many problems so*please help me...
Thanks!
AGNi
Have you tried AGNi kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231393 ? That's the kernel for custom ROMs (as PAC-MAN is based on CM, I guess it will work). That's the kernel I always use on any ROM I install (Now using the stock version + SmartDroid Lite v5). I trully recomend it, especially if you want a stable ROM and to tweak A LOT at it. You can Overclock or undervolt both CPU and GPU (individual settings). It will automatically install it's app when you flash the kernel. I reccomend you try it out and play around with it few days to see how it is. Good luck !

Look at the first post and see at what version the auppirt for 10.2 was dropped, and install the previous one. Or there it says "All roms" or something like that. Read the description and you will see the exact details.
