[Q] Ringtone

Hai! I have just bought my LG Optimus One (P500), my first android phone. How do I set MP3 or MIDI format ringtones ? The tones, I have loaded is not shown in the list of ringtones displayed in Setting>Sound.
create a folder in ur SD card called ringtones and put the files there.. it will appear
my tones are loaded at media/audio/ringtones
or in music player u will have option to set it as ringtone
i tried putting my ringtones to sd card media/audio/ringtones but it doesnt work. I remember on my huawei it wasn't working on android 2.1 and started to work on 2.2. On my lg i have stock 2.2 and it doesnt see any ringtones on sd card what can be wrong?
try
/sdcard/media/ringtones OR /sdcard/ringtones
Also, reboot after you copied them on the SD card. Usually the stupid Android (or just the stupid Gallery) won't see them without reboot.

[Q] Disabling SD card notification sound?

Is there a way to disable the SD card notification sound when you first boot the phone? Because of the back-asswards internal and external SD card settings, I've swapped them so that the external SD card is the primary source, but it won't load the sytem sound when the "preparing SD card" notification comes up when the phone boots. Very annoying sound plays and I want to disable it.
Settings -> Sound -> Uncheck SD card notifications
Dammit...
I knew that. LOL. Thank you though, I didn't remember seeing that as an option before.

[Q] Apps doesn't find mediafiles on ext.sd (CM7)

Hello guys,
I have a problem which i never resolved, so until now I have always stored my music on the internal sd-card. Now I just bought a 32 gb samsung sd card and therefore have to solve this issue of mine
I have formatted the card from the PC (FAT32) twice and it mounts (I can see it from the settings) and enter it from fileexplorers, but apps like Power AMPlifier doesn't find any Mp3s on the card.
I don't know what to do really.. Is this a CyanogenMod issue?
Edit: Stock music player finds the files though. It's just PowerAMP.
Go to PowerAMP > Settings > Music Folders, is the external sd card marked?
External SD Card is mounted on /sdcard/external_sd

Sound mapping problem

Hi there,
I'm new to android and don't know how things should work normally but I've found a strange behaviour:
1. I've installed Sygic Navigation on my Xperia mini pro. Some folders have automatically been created od memory card during the installation, containing Sygic sound files.
2. A couple of days later I've bought a brand new Sandisk 32GB microSD card.
3. I unmounted the old 2GB card, removed it from the phone, put into the computer's reader and copied its contents (all files, including hidden ones) to a new card.
4. I inserted the new card and mounted it.
5. From this moment on, strange things with sound files began to happen: the phone somehow changed sound mapping of previously selected ringtone, notification and alarm sounds to the Sygic's navigation sounds from the SD card.
6. When it rang or when it received an sms I could hear: "Turn left", "You've arrived" in various languages like Vietnamese, Czech, Spanish!
7. I've been able to set everything back to normal except for the notification tone which stayed the same and played even when I set it to no sound!
8. As I couldn't manage with the notification sound I've decided to format my microSD card and after I've done so, the problem disappeared, but...
9. In the phone's memory, there's a folder: /system/media/audio/notifications, containing standard system notification sounds. When I try to play these when the SD card is inserted, all I can hear are Sygic's sounds (!). When I remove SD card from the phone and try to play these files I get the "Can't play the file" message.
10. Now, who can explain it to me? How the sounds from /system/media/audio/ are dependent on the SD card?
Zrzeda
Try repairing your phone firmware via Update Service or PC Companion.
Backup your data first, as all of it will be lost.

[Q] ICS Ringtone reverts to default after unmount of internal "sd"

I have ICS 4.0.4 and the mp3 i have set as a ringtone is stored in /sdcard/Ringtones folder. /sdcard/ is the default internal memory that is shown as sdcard. My phone is lenovo A660. Whenever the phone is connected to the pc and i use the memory as an external card (thus unmounting it from my phone and mounting it to pc) the ringtone reverts back to default.
On a rooted phone a solution would be to save the ringtone in the internal memory (the one not partitioned as an external) but there must be another way (for non-rooted phones). I cant believe that ics is build on the idea that everytime you want to move files from your phone you have to reapply the ringtone settings.
I have searched some threads mentioning the same problem but i didnt find a non-root solution
