Microsim - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Accessories

I've tried a search but didn't come up with much..
Has anyone actually got a microsim adapter to work (and not break the sim reader in our p6800)?
I came across this:
http://www.magic-sim.com/product/id...ER_for_Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_7.7_(GT-P6800).html
Claims to be compatible with our devices and possibly offers a solution to use microsim.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using Tapatalk
Edit: oops, wrong link but I did come across one which was microsim based and not nano like the link above.
Edit2: here is the link to what looks like the microsim based dual adapter: http://www.simore.ch/en/two_sim_cards_in_one_mobile/dual_sim_card_infinite.php

but multi sim is not compatible with our roms... right?

I purchased 1 from ebay last night as ive lost my old 1 and my sim is kinda a home made 1 with tape holding it in lol, item number: 260774152209 is what i brought only 99p with free 1st class postage. I have IP4 sim too u see
I used the one supplied with the iPhone 4 sim pack with no problems. Might be a bit a pain to get out again, but I'm not planning on swapping sims too often.

[Q] Sim swap between Galaxy Nexus and Rezound

I own both a galaxy nexus and a rezound (Took advantage of the $50 deal). I now know that the Rezound uses a standard sim while the Nexus uses a mini or micro sim. I obviously will have to go to Verizon and ask for a new sim every single time I want to switch between phones normally, however I have heard about sim cutting before... Is it realistic that I could cut the regular sim down to fit the nexus and position it or use tape to fit it back to the rezound? If this is a really stupid question I'm sorry, but I have been a Verizon customer forever. Although I have owned many different LTE devices galaxy nexus was first with mirco/mini sim....
http://www.amazon.com/Micro-SIM-Cutter-Converter-adapters/dp/B003UEWF8I
That is basically what you need. I assume it works with LTE sim cards. That includes the cutter to cut a big one down to micro and 2 adapters so you can then use the micro card in the Rezound.
Adapter only; better reviews:

It does work to cut the simple but you do also need an adapter so you could put the small one back in the rezound

thanks for the help guys. Looks like I'm probably going with an adapter and going to Verizon tomorrow to get a micro for my nexus and just use that one to switch back and forth. Thanks again guys!

That is probably what I would do.
Did that work for you? I'm thinking of doing the same.
Thanks.

I'm in the same situation. What I did was just take the micro sim out of the nexus and just lined it up in the space on the rezound where the sim card connectors would line up. Sometimes I have to just readjust the placement to align the leads correctly but, it does work.
The only annoying part is getting it out of either sim card holder, nexus or rezound. I don't use the sim card adapter. Just make sure to start with the regular micro sim. Cutting the full sized one may be tough.
Good luck!

Glad to hear the Rezound works with the small one. Unfortunately, I have the normal SIM, so I'll have to try cutting it down to size if I want to pop it in a Nexus (or something else). Just wanted to see if someone was successful with that. I don't want to have to ask/tell Verizon if I want to move to another phone (in light of the announcement today).

The SIM cards are free just call or go in and ask for one. I called and asked for a micro SIM and they sent it. Then if you want get the adapter.

This was brought up before in the thread. Every time you wanted to switch phones then, you would need to wait a few days to get the new sim card

But if you just get the micro and buy the adapter then you would basically have micro and standard SIM card. Use the micro for phones that use micro SIM and use the micro with the adapter for phones that use standard SIM. And no needing to keep getting different SIM cards.

I get it now. No need to go through the hassle of cutting the SIM down to size. Just ask Verizon for a small one (presumably before they start implementing any forced contract changes) and use the new, micro SIM with (or without) an adapter for any phone. Sweet!
Thanks folks.
You can buy an adapter for $1.10 on Amazon. Fyi Verizon knows immediately which phone is being used. Hopefully, it still won't matter when the new plans are put in place this summer.
I know they can tell what phone you're using but I figured the act of going into the store and buying another phone (or asking for a SIM card) could be a trigger that gets them to move you onto their new data plan. But it looks like it doesn't matter now. It seems Verizon is okay with people keeping their old plans as long as they pay full price for a new phone. No more subsidies. If customers want to be stubborn and keep the plan that they signed up for, they'll just have to pay more. I'm glad for the option, but damn, that's a chunk of change.

FYI. The Rezound will work just fine with either the full size (standard) or the micro sim card. No adapter is required.

You don't need an adapter. The micro sim card will go directly into the Rezound and work fine. That is how I am running mine.

They should.. or can. But like mentioned, get a cutter on eBay. A lot of em come with adaptors so you can use your NEW micro sim with a regular sim slot!

[Q] Standard SIM or Micro SIM for T-Mobile (USA)...?
Hi Guys,
Which one will I need for the S3 if using T-Mobile (USA): "Micro SIM", or "Standard SIM"? Don't like the idea of cutting the SIM too much, and rather get the correct size right away...
Does anyone know -for sure - what size SIM card is needed for T-Mobile (USA)?
Reason for my question: I am not going with a T-Mobile contract, but want to try a prepaid SIM card from a 3rd party provider.
Thanks!

Are you for real?
Micro SIM = Micro SIM nomatter where you are.
I think most, ifnot all SGSIII has Micro SIM instead of MiniSIM.
I walked into the HI store yesterday (My TSP), got it cut into Micro SIM and an adapter for my current SGS for free!
You don't get it...

Hi there - you will need to get a micro sim for your S3 - that is what the current documentation is showing anyway. Either way, if you get a micro SIM card and it is the wrong size, you can always get an adaptor cheaply off Ebay or Amazon to convert it to a mini SIM card (what you referred to as a Standard SIM).

[q] magicsim elite - galaxy s3 dual sim adapter

Has anyone had any experience of the MAGICSIM ELITE - GALAXY S3 DUAL SIM ADAPTER? I have tried it in my SGS3 and a) it's incredibly tight and b) it reports "no SIM".
It may be that I am being paranoid but I really don't want to force the micro-SIM and the adapter in too hard. Even when I think I have it in OK, it doesn't see the SIM cards.
Teach me....
Yep I've got one, works fine. Just pushed it in with my finger nail until the spring load clicked in place. If in doubt maybe just email Magic-sim?
I got mine a few days ago and the STK menu does not work. I am unable to switch between SIMs.
I have contacted Magic-SIM and am awaiting a solution.
it seems Magicsim ELITE doesn't exist ... check on magicsim.com there is no ELITE product ... I've ask them and they are not aware about "ELITE" ... so it's smell fake product their are more expensive and have the same software/hard as magicsim 28th PLUS as you can find on www.magicsim.com/site
It looks more like it was developed especially by them as I have both the older 28th version and the new elite one and they are definately different.

Nerdic421 all of your posts are advertising a company called eurodualsim which seem to sell fake Magicsim products..... Looks like youve been BUSTED! Lol
Nice try.
OK, I finally got it installed and fired up with the help of Danny at www.magic-sim.co.uk.
Pity that it really doesn't work at all well. The Dual Sim application is visible and flips between SIMs. However, it's REALLY REALLY slow to register the SIM at boot time and then at switchover time. It is also very unstable and will drop both SIMs out of service at times, which kinda makes the phone useless.
All in all £35 wasted, but "Caveat Emptor" I guess. I have given up with this.

I had a similar responsiveness issue with a dual sim adapter I got for my old S2 but it was because I was using a sim card that was about 3 years old and that was causing the issue. Once I replaced that it was fine, maybe this is the issue you're having. This ones working really well in my S3, takes about 20 seconds to switch sims and has been extremely stable so far.
The primary SIM is a micro SIM and is about 4 weeks old direct from T-Mobiles local store. The other one is an elderly FIDO SIM but that's not even getting looked at during the boot process.

I'd bet you my right arm that your outdated sim is what's causing you mischief. These things rely on the full circuit so even when you're just using the first sim the signal is running through the second sim. My issue was also because of an old sim in the sim 2 slot.
Change that sim and I bet it works as it should!
Just installed this myself and so far all is perfect. No problems switching :good:

Nope although i only want 1 sim active at a time so a dual sim adapter is very good for me, i am happy with the Magicsim Elite for now.
Brillo! Moved overto the S3 a week ago and my Magicsim ELITE is working nicely. I've got experience with these but I found installation easy.
There's like 3 magicsim websites out there. Which one is the legit one or the best one for us UK ppls?
Also, have any of you had a problem with the fit under the cover? seems to me like there might be a bit of a bulge. Any issue with cases?

Yep I've had a few items from them over the years
The ones for which the adapter is working, can you tell me what kind of subscriptions you have (3G, LTE)?
My issue is that I can go up to HPSA+ on my SIM 1 (the one fitting the original S3 SIM slot) while on the second SIM, I'm blocked at EDGE. I tested the second SIM on another phone and there it goes up to HSPA+.
Also, to get it to EDGE, I have, after switching to the SIM 2, activate GSM only networks on the settings so that it register itself to the network first and then activate data services. A complete mess...
Could it be that SIM 2 is too old for dual sim adapters? How can one tell this?
Thanks in advance

Needed: Micro Sim Card Adapter

Hey!!
I am needing a micro sim card adapter that works with the ol' beastly Note. I would appreciate it if you can show me what works well for you guys.
Thanks very much!
Just a quick heads up. Make sure there is some type of adhesive on the adapter to hold the microsim or you'll be in a world of trouble. I had one without and the sim adaptor got stuck in the prongs. It took me 30min to take it out with any damage but some people have broke their phones trying to rescue the adapter out.
I agree be careful of the adapter that you use

This might be a silly question but, why not talk to an AT&T rep at one of the stores and get a new sim? at most it should cost $5, last time I needed one they just gave me one.
Just a thought
I used an old membership card (Supermarket card to be exact), cut it to the approximate size and cut out a hole for the micro sim. I've done this twice without any problem. I used a piece of tape to hold the smaller sim in. The homemade free adapters work in my Dell Streak, my Galaxy Note and my wife's Galaxy Nexus just fine.
You can find templates online with a quick google search.
I'm sure you solved this by now but adapters are $.99 or less on eBay every day.

Getting a new sim is easy,, but if u switch between devices alot like me. then a micro sim and adapter is the way to go.. i switch between my one x and note and galaxy tab alot..
Why does it list my device as using a micro sim when mine uses a normal sim?
I got a cutter. Cut my full size SIM and now have a micro AND an adapter. Go to att store, they'll give you a SIM.
